The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

In that case Triple I guess it could be that your hormone levels are just taking a long time to come down and could still be higher than when you first tested, hence the stronger line. Fx it will get lighter soon.

sebs I think ewcm also helps the sperm live longer? So that would make sense to get it a few days before ov, to make sure there are as many of the little swimmers as possible ready to pounce.

I had a little bit of ewcm yesterday but still no +opk, hopefully will get one by the weekend though.

Littlelady33 · 01/04/2014 09:00

Sebs I think that's right - I have it a few days then the ov pain stops so definitely in the build up. Still no clue what's happening here guess that's why they call it the wtf cycle. Tried an opk again today and for the first time got a line, but still fainter than control. Guess I did ov a while ago if indeed at all. Would like AF to show, never thought I'd say so.

sebsmummy1 · 01/04/2014 08:56

Well girls my CBFM has given me low for the last three days and yet I have stupid amounts of EWCM! Really weird.

I don't know whether the monitor is likely to just jump to peak or something but we have been BDing every other day and then will go at it like mad people Friday/Saturday which should be just before OV.

I find I get EWCM for five days before OV. I assume it's just to enable the sperm to maybe hang about for longer? I don't understand why we get EWCM so far away from OV if it's purpose is to help the sperm swim to the egg.

I guess I have little faith in EWCM as the months I fell pregnant I didn't get much at all.

Triplespin · 01/04/2014 08:23

thanks, metal sebs parsley I used frer at 14dpo and it was really light. Tested with cb digi after that so when I say darker line, then I am comparing yesterday's test using frer with the one from 14dpo. But it's still bizarre.

yes it can't be a new pregnancy as its probably too soon. We did dtd about 9 days ago but only once and even then -tmi alert- didn't really finish off as DS woke up and started calling for us!

I will wait and see this week. Maybe test again over the weekend and decide if a trip to GP/ EPU is warranted. Hope the line gets lighter.

Metalhead · 01/04/2014 08:11

Triple it seems odd that you're getting stronger positives now, are you using a different brand of test, or did you only test when you first got your BFP when your hormone levels were still really low? I think I would ring your GP or EPU just to see what they say. It almost sounds like a new pregnancy, though if you're only 3 weeks post mc I'm not quite sure how that would work... it took me about 3 weeks to get a BFN but the lines were very faint after about 2 weeks.

Cakebaker35 · 01/04/2014 08:04

Thanks all. Jet it's so bloody frustrating isn't it? Like you say just want some sort of normality back, I don't see how you're meant to try and start moving on while all this physical stuff is going on. Grrrrr.

Jetpackplease · 31/03/2014 23:29

Congrats on the wedding plans, otters!

Tanny, hope your first day back was ok.

Cake, I'm 2 weeks post-erpc tomorrow and getting the brown mucousy stuff you describe. Did hpt on Sat that was still faint positive, tempted to do another one tomorrow - so desperate for a bfn so I can feel like my body is getting back to normal!

sebsmummy1 · 31/03/2014 22:33

Triple it took ages for my hpts to go negative. 5/6 weeks maybe? I have no idea why it took so long but i was still getting a faint positive even after my first AF. Although saying that i was using those internet strips that give crazy evap lines, so maybe there were just messing with me. They certainly weren't a strong positive though!!

Any chance this could be a new pregnancy?

Parsley2506 · 31/03/2014 20:48

Just popping by to see if tanny has checked in. I hope you had a bearable day - I only managed half a day my first day back, so take it easy on yourself if you're struggling (which I hope you're not)

triple I don't think our hormones follow the rules, if you haven't had a follow up scan then I guess it might be worth popping to EPU to see if they can do one, although I think their general line is 6-8 weeks to 'recover'

I hope everyone is ok this eve. We just booked our holiday to Mauritius in September, cannot fecking wait!

Thanks office and broody. Yes I imagined that it would be like my last mc and so didn't even bother testing for a bfn. Didn't realise it could actually take so long. Give that it is not an anomaly not to have had a bfn yet, I will wait for another week then. If the line is not lighter by then, then I will probably go visit the EPU. I did have as can 1.5 wks ago and they said mc was complete.

tanny hope your first day back was manageable. I found it very difficult to cope initially. Hope you have had a decent day given the circumstances. Are you seeing prof Q since you are ovulating now.

officelady · 31/03/2014 19:32

triple when I had a mc at 6 weeks last yr I got a negative after a week, but with my recent mmc (baby stopped at 6 wks, mc naturally at 11+4 I still got a positive 2 weeks later. So basically it's a waiting game. In your shoes I would test again in a week and if still +ve, go to GP or ring EPU for advice. Did you have a scan after your mc? The nurse I saw at EPU said I could still get a positive result for "a few weeks" after the mc, a bit vague but it seems pretty much everything is "normal" after mc!
Tanny I hope your first day back was okay and not too stressful. It must be really hard going back after such a long time, I hope your colleagues are supportive.

broodylicious · 31/03/2014 19:22

triple my mc was at 12 weeks, four and a bit weeks ago. My bleeding was heavy to start with but petered out after two weeks, then stopped and started with clots. Now, annoyingly I seem to be having AF every few days (not consistent bleeding but a bleed in the morning then nothing until two mornings later, for example). I think gail had the same? Anyway I only got my bfn last week so it certainly took its time. Maybe your body is hanging on to those hormones for just a bit longer too. Absolute pisser isn't it? It's like a big fat reminder every time you poas wishing for that bfn.

Triplespin · 31/03/2014 18:55

just good luck with the cyclogest. Is it a pessary?

cake at 2 weeks with mc2 I was still getting this browny stuff and have needed a liner. With mc1 I never got this. So every time it can be different.

Ladies I have a related question too. I am nearly 3 weeks now since my natural mc started. I had bleeding for one week ad then the browny mucousy stuff for last 2 wks. Now started pinkish bleed again. I took a pg test out of curiousity and that is still positive!! In fact a stronger positive than I had when I was actually pg. The line is so €#

Cakebaker35 · 31/03/2014 18:28

A question for all the ladies who've had an erpc....how long did you bleed for afterwards if you don't mind me asking? It'll be 2 weeks on weds since mine and I have this annoying brown quite mucousy discharge (sorry tmi), not loads but enough to need a panty liner. Is this going to go on for weeks? I was told to expect 'bleeding for a couple of weeks' but they were vague about what kind and what I should do if it carried on longer. I have no pain or cramping and am well in myself. Thanks.

Justonemoretime · 31/03/2014 17:53

So I've begun the messy business of cyclogest... cd21 until cd28 unless bfp, then carry on. it really is nasty stuff. Just having a horizontal life break so that it doesn't fall out...Shock
Otters, v exciting about wedding plans. I hope everyone else is doing OK? Tanny, hope work wasn't too awful.

Cakebaker35 · 31/03/2014 17:40

broody exactly the same as you, my dd was conceived over a booze-filled weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary Blush definitely something to be said for relaxing, but must learn how to do it better without the aid of booze!

otters brilliant, nothing like a wedding to ensure some duffedupness! Fingers crossed.

Seasides · 31/03/2014 16:15

5dpo and the boob-poking has commenced. Right boob yielding better results than the left. Bored of the 2ww (or 1.5ww as it is in my case) already!

Seasides · 31/03/2014 14:48

Great choice otters! That'll be fab - and just 3 days after our wedding anniversary, hope you get as good weather as we did.

Yep, I've been going with that approach too. Trying to abstain during the week as I just can't sit at a computer all day with a hangover, but chilling out over the weekends. Limit myself to one or two usually during the 2ww though. I started off Nazi-style banning it, but it just stressed me out. It's been so long I couldn't have been teetotal for all this time! Plus I reckon you're off the booze for a year once it happens, so might as well enjoy it now Grin

broodylicious · 31/03/2014 14:29

cakebaker yes my worrying only really started after I had dd. Now I worry about everything - why she's still not sleeping through, why she slept through on those two glorious nights, why she's gone off loads of food, have I done serious damage giving her tixylix and calpol just a short while ago...Blush I'm a wreck!

I got pg with dd after being out on the lash. We were in Germany for the boxing and I drank waaaay too many champagne cocktails all three days just to underline the whole PR lifestyle, lol I'd said to myself and a close friend that if I didn't get upduffed that weekend, I was getting another horse. Got something far more expensive and high maintenance in my dd!! So yes, my rambling thoughts are get pissed up to get knocked up, mwhahaha!!

Littlelady33 · 31/03/2014 14:16

Congrats Otters and hurrah for the pub crawl too - although I've seen an article on the Telegraph website today suggesting that abstaining from alcohol while TTC might not be all is cracked up to be. Some (wonderful) doctor thinks that relaxing, having a few drinks and worrying less may help women conceive. I've certainly been going with that theory just lately! And re worrying - I spent my very short time being pregnant worrying about everything and everything and have vowed that next time I will relax, enjoy it, and quit obsessing about listeria. Seasides - I don't dare hope! Although all ov signs have passed so I guess I'm in the 2ww....

OttersPocket · 31/03/2014 13:55

Hello everyone.

I hope good weekends were had by all? DP and I put all this ttc crap to one side and spent the day getting drunk how mature of us on a most excellent pub crawl. It was brilliant just being daft and laughing and acting like teenagers! Grin I am suffering a horrendous hangover today though!

And we booked our wedding! Take that TTC. Seasides it's not in the place you kindly suggested as we couldn't get the dates to work out. But it's in the CH Wink So girls, put the 26th July in your diaries - you're all invited to Edinburgh Smile

Seasides · 31/03/2014 13:37

Just reminded me to write it!

... implantation littlelady?

That offer goes for everyone btw, if you want me to email you the worry/anxiety worksheets, just DM me Smile I know it's the hardest thing to deal with at this time. I've always been a worrier, but the last year it's been off the charts. I am feeling much better no - got my final session tomorrow. Need to think of what I'll say...

Cakebaker35 · 31/03/2014 13:27

Tanny, I really hope today has gone well for you. Some very wise words on here from other ladies, but be kind to yourself, it's tough going back but hopefully you've done the hard first day now and you'll get back into the swing of it.

Interesting about worrying - I've become a terrible worrier since i had dd and sometimes I wonder if I've got a problem or if my anxiety levels are fairly normal. I think on the slightly higher end of normal maybe?! I do wish I could just enjoy what I have more sometimes, I like the idea of the gratitude journal - might be a naff name but the sentiment sounds great to me.

Fish slaps and hugs to anyone who needs either.

CakesALot · 31/03/2014 12:55

Metal, no scans booked yet but off to the GP on Wednesday to get the ball rolling. Feeling far more rational about things now and chanelling 'what will be will be' vibes!

Seasides, that's so interesting. I always rehearse conversations in my head, thinking it will help me prepare and feel calmer, but you're right, they never go the way they did in my head, so why to I put myself through that?! I read a great quote the other day (which I should really pay more attention to, clearly!) "worrying won't stop the bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good"

broodylicious · 31/03/2014 12:49

seasides that's a great idea for your journal. I can imagine that really helping to get positive. My preggo yoga teacher told us that "worries are wishes for something to go wrong" and I think that's a great motto, even though I can worry for the country!
