The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

I so hope lacey! Is everything ok with you today? No more pink?

And how frustrating about your spotting cakes. Definitely get that scan to put your mind at ease.

Boo to the job metal, it's always so disappointing. Remember it's not personal; you never know who they might have had in mind beforehand, or what special skill the successful applicant might have had.

Penguin13 · 07/04/2014 10:57

So sorry you're stuck in limbo too Cakes. Really hope you get a quick referral at the end of this week. In the meantime have a virtual hand to hold.

CakesALot · 07/04/2014 10:29

Wow, this thread moves quick!

Seasides - massive congratulations! FX for a happy healthy pregnancy!

MissH - thinking of you today and so sorry it looks like things haven't gone to plan. Hugs

Penguin - I agree with the others, don't let it panic you too much. Get yourself scanned as soon as you can and see how things lie then.

Welcome to any newbies too!

My spotting continues to wind me up daily. It comes, and I think it's getting worse, then it disappears and I'm all happy again, then it comes back and I'm down again. Soooo annoying and so angry with my body right now! I am still having other symptoms at the moment so I'm holding onto that as a hope. My EPU won't take self-referrals unless it's for recurrent miscarriage (I've only had 1 so I don't know if I fall into that category?). So I'm having to wait it out on doctors orders. I'll be going back at the end of this week (to see a much more sympathetic GP!) and hope to get referred. Not knowing my dates isn't helping, I think I'm over 5 weeks so I know I need to wait a little longer yet before I get a viable scan, but having an appointment booked might ease my mind!

LaceyLee · 07/04/2014 10:22

Morning all,
Congratulations seasides! That's fab news, I have a friend who had an EP and has just given birth to a healthy baby girl, that will be you soon with luck.
MissH hope today goes ok for you, not that it can go well particularly...
Penguin could you request a blood test to see if HcG levels are still rising? Or that may not work if its progesterone you're worried about, not sure?

Carly6971 · 07/04/2014 10:12

Huge congrats seasides :)

missH hope today goes as well as it can! and that you find the strength to get through it hugs x

Metalhead · 07/04/2014 09:54

I just got a call to say I didn't get the new job I applied for last week - boo! Sad

Seasides · 07/04/2014 09:48

EPU are so good - scan booked next Wed. They still don't believe I ruptured so early last time, but I really can't have the dates wrong. I am not going to let myself feel pregnant until I see at least something in my womb.

Metalhead · 07/04/2014 09:09

Huge congratulations Seasides! Can't believe how many BFPs we've got this month, there will be a lot of Christmas babies!

Penguin fx you're worrying over nothing, as others have said tests vary in sensitivity, colour etc. If you're still getting 3+ on the CB digi that must be a good sign. I hope your midwife can give you some reassurance when you see her.

Good luck for the scan MissH, will be thinking of you.

(Oh and fish slaps for anyone who needs one today!)

sebsmummy1 · 07/04/2014 09:08

MissH - handholding here

EnglishGirlAbroad · 07/04/2014 09:08

Congratulations Seasides!! Hope dh gets your voicemail soon! Wishing you a happy, healthy and boring pregnancy!!

Penguin, try not to panic. As others have said, get yourself to epu. Keeping everything crossed for you.

MissH sending you big hugs

sebsmummy1 · 07/04/2014 09:07

Penguin - so sorry the test has messed with your head Sad. I am going to go against the grain as I'm not sure what an early scan can tell you at 5+3 aside from the sac is in the right place. I would probably get another digi and using FMU see if that has gone down. If it has then I would prepare myself mentally for the possibility of the pregnancy not being viable BUT these tests are not infallible and they were never designed to be used as a threatened
miscarriage tool.

I think if you could arrange an early scan through your GP at 6/7 weeks you are at least likely to glean more information from it and see a heartbeat etc.

Really hoping this is a worry about nothing and things start tucking along nicely again in no time.

Seasides · 07/04/2014 09:04

Oh, did not refresh before posting - thank you everyone Grin. Still carrying my test around with me like it is my firstborn.

Good luck missh, I'm so sorry about the BFN. Hand holding to you too, I really hope today goes as well as it can.

Seasides · 07/04/2014 09:01

Thank you tanny! This thread is a charm.

Oh yes, tanny's right on CPs penguin, I remember reading that too.

MissHobart · 07/04/2014 08:59

Congratulations Seasides!!!! Grin

I'm here for fish slaps, hand holding, unMN squeezes! (as are we all!)

I'll catch up later, EPU scan at 10, BFN already with FMU Shock Hmm .

sebsmummy1 · 07/04/2014 08:59

Seasides . How fabulous Grin. Hope that line is nice and strong in the next few days. I don't think you can go wrong with FRER. I've never had an evap using them and I found out I was expecting my son with a faint FRER positive at 10dpo, so they always hold a special place on my heart.

Parsley2506 · 07/04/2014 08:42

Just popping my (extremely hungover) head up to say a massive congratulations for lovely seasides!!! About time one of our long term threaders got a bit of good news! So so happy for you lady - I know there's lots for you to mentally torment yourself with but I wish you the happiest and most boring pregnancy around! And I'm not even going to tell you off got breaking the rules! Yaaaaaay!

Right, I'm taking done aspirin and going back to bed. Will catch up properly later!

Congratulations Seasides! What amazing news. So happy for you.

BobaFetaCheese · 07/04/2014 08:37

Congrats seasides! Wonderful news. Hope dh gets your message soon. X

Triplespin · 07/04/2014 08:17

seasides congrats, this sounds promising!! Fx that this turns out to be a textbook pregnancy. Totally understand how you feel, when I got pg after mc1 I was filled with fear.

penguin agree with tanny. All tests are diff do unless you were using the same test with FMU every time you are not really doing a like for like comparison. You should go to your local EPU. I have visited my EPU in both miscarriages at 5+3, and second time I was not bleeding. They see everyone and do not turn anyone away. Instead of worrying about it, best you go and see them. I do know of one from our thread who even saw a hb at 5+3.

Btw just wondering why would it be classified as a chemical and who actually classified? I had mc1 at 5+3 and my notes from EPU say: complete mc, don't mention anything about it being a chemical.

tannyLoo · 07/04/2014 08:13

Seasides hold the phone! Brilliant news! Fish slaps and all that, but brilliant news! So made up for you.

Penguin I wouldn't call it a chemical pregnancy. All mine have been between 5 and 7 weeks and have all been recorded as MC. If (god forbid) you are in the position to need testing, they need to all count...

A CP is one that occurs before 5 weeks or a gestational sac is visible, according to MA.

Saying all that, really still carrying the hope that it isn't either a CP or MC...

Seasides · 07/04/2014 08:00

And of course, now I keep thinking I spent all day yesterday digging and lugging bricks around, and had 2 glasses of wine the night before...this is going to slow my garden renovation down!!

Seasides · 07/04/2014 07:58

penguin, I'm so sorry all doesn't seem to be well. I second what tanny says - and I would try and get a scan, they might be able to reassure you. I do hope your instincts are wrong - yes, it would count as a chemical, if you're right. Thanks Thanks

On the 'all tests are different note' - I took three this morning, all different brands. The first had a 'you're imagining it' shadow, the one liberated from my friend's hospital had a visible double line, and the FR has a faint, but distinct and stronger second line! It's been over a year since the EP, and I really didn't think this would happen again - I was getting sure my tube was blocked. I'm that usual tangle of emotions - over the moon that something has finally happened, and terrified about finding out it's another ectopic and I'll lose the other tube and be infertile. I've had a sob, left DH a voicemail (he's in a ship in the North Sea, of course, until Friday, with no communications) and am just staring at it over and over. Every time I look, I can't believe the second line is really there.

The funny thing is, both my mum and sister were convinced I'd get pg in March, which was when this would have been conceived. They're going to be so smug!

Penguin13 · 07/04/2014 07:34

Thanks Tanny I appreciate the support. It would only be my second so no chance of investigations just yet. I guess around 5 weeks it would be called a chemical pregnancy right?

tannyLoo · 07/04/2014 07:21

Penguin sweetie, you poor thing! I know exactly how you feel, and know that I'd be jumping to the same conclusions, but I am duty bound to tell you what you already know. Tests vary enormously and symptoms come and go. Until you have more definite proof, all the midwives will treat you as if you are still pg. My EPU won't turn you away because you're early, but will hurrump a bit. My midwife last time advised me to talk vaguely about some cramping to get an early scan!

If you do go on to mc, how many will that be? I hope you can start getting tested soon for any causes. I have had several MCs that have started in a similar way to this, and am now hopefully getting some answers.

And lastly a big enveloping squeeze from me. Take care of yourself x

Penguin13 · 07/04/2014 06:49

*The not looking great was from lack of progesterone-related symptoms since Thurs even though HCG was at that point still rising.
