The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Penguin, if you're near Wycombe I'd go into London to Uch Epu, where you can just walk in and self refer. They scan all comers. Walkable from Euston, EGA wing (round the back, down 2 floors in the lift). They are much better than local bucks hospital services (seriously, its like going into the future by comparison). Good luck.

Triplespin · 08/04/2014 08:02

Penguin 3+ is excellent. So you need to stop worry now. Like tanny I have never made it to 3+ and with my first mc, I actually had a drop from 2-3 to 1-2.
Wise to wait till 6 weeks if you can. That would be ideal. Wouldn't it be on Friday? So just need to get through the next few days.

Broody good idea to get the tests done, especially if the GP is offering them.

missh glad to hear you are feeling more positive about the break. I saw the leaflets for the Tablet study. I wonder if I should have volunteered.

Hope everyone else is well on this sunny day!

Cakebaker35 · 08/04/2014 07:30

Penguin, step away from the cb digis, was told by my gp that they just mess with people's minds and she wishes they were not on sale. I think you're wise to wait a bit before a scan fwiw as it can be hard to get any sort of answers at an early stage, but obviously if you just feel you absolutely have to get seen or have any other symptoms of concern then go for it. It's a horrible waiting game and I'm keeping everything crossed for your sticky bean xx

tannyLoo · 08/04/2014 07:29

Penguin I'm really pleased to hear it! I know it's hard, but try to see this as the positive it is, worrying yourself silly won't change the outcome (which already sounds better).
I think getting an early scan at 6 weeks sounds sensible. In the meantime, "Today I Am Pregnant" should be repeated often, some deep breathing and stepping away from the sticks are my recommendations.

Really Grin the digi has stayed up. I didn't even get to a 3+, so you're doing well.

Penguin13 · 08/04/2014 07:17

Broody don't blame yourself. If I had got pregnant before getting the re-tests I'm sure I would have done the same thing as you. I do hope that the tests provide some answers though.

MissH. Good to hear the appointment went as well as it could and you now have a plan. I'm sorry you've had to go through so much to get to this point but hope your investigations turn up something that can be fixed.

I am feeling a bit ridiculous this morning after my dramatics yesterday as I poa cb digi and it's still saying 3+ weeks Blush I still have a gut feeling that something isn't right and I know that it doesn't necessarily mean everything's fine that HCG hasn't dropped yet but at least it doesn't mean something bad. I failed to get hold of the mw yesterday so am wondering whether to self-refer to Wycombe epau where they saw me last time after my mmc. My instinct is to wait it out till 6 weeks by which time they might see a bit more either way. I think if I go in now and they can't see much they'll just tell me to come back in a week anyway.

I really appreciated all your advice and support.

broodylicious · 07/04/2014 23:37

Ok, just did a quick dr google of thyroid issues. I'm matching up to a fair few symptoms. Guess who I'm calling at 8am... Fucked off with myself for not getting the re-tests when I should've done three months after the originals (sorry for language). Maybe I could've saved myself, dh and my family from this heartache....

broodylicious · 07/04/2014 22:39

Wow, I've been away for a few days (hubby ran Manchester marathon yday so been up there - he did great, PB of 3hrs 10mins, v v proud wife!) and this thread has gone mental!

missh so sorry to hear your news but I'm pleased you've taken the positives from this horrid situation and can relax a bit now. I'd be interested in hearing about the thyroid thing. I had blood tests a while back, before I got pg (the one I eventually mc) and results showed some interest in thyroid and the doc invited me back for repeat tests...which I never got round to as I got pg. BlushBlush I just wonder if....Sad

seasides big mega wahoo for you!!!!! Would love to be a fly on the wall when your dh picks up your voicemail!

Metalhead · 07/04/2014 21:21

Well done on getting through today MissH, and I'm glad you're getting the right help now. Try and enjoy the ttc break, and hopefully once you come back to it you will get your BFP very soon. x

Seasides · 07/04/2014 20:24

I echo the others - and it sounds like you're being so strong about it. Excellent attitude to enjoy these months, knowing that they will find the answers and you will get there. Really hope that happens quickly. xx

omama · 07/04/2014 20:14

Sorry it wasn't the outcome we all hoped for, but really glad the wheels are in motion to try & find out what is going on for you MissH.

Seasides - congratulations!

Cakebaker35 · 07/04/2014 20:14

MissH I'm so sorry but glad they were kind and that you are now going to get some answers that will help you to your bfp. Do keep lurking and keep us posted on how you're doing, I really hope you get your appointment soon xx

Viperama · 07/04/2014 19:43

Big hug MissH, glad you are moving in the right direction to your BFP, which you WILL get one day x

EnglishGirlAbroad · 07/04/2014 18:59

Glad the appointment had a helpful outcome, if not the positive one we all hoped it could have been MissH. You're now at least on your way to figuring out the cause and hopefully finding a way round it. You seem very positive which is great. Enjoy the next few weeks not TTC, I hope the appointment comes through quickly for you.

MissHobart · 07/04/2014 18:22

Hey Ladies! Thanks for all the thoughts, much appreciated! I only weeped today which is a step up from all the wailing yesterday! I have also just had a HOT bath! Grin

Sorry for the following copy&paste if you're also on the BESH thread;

Scan was ok, as expected, think I actually miscarried last week and it took a while to come out, barren womb on scan, negative pg tests. Staff were lovely, put me in a room and came for a chat. Not sure they're used to someone so well informed Hmm There were also some ladies there recruiting for a trial called TABLET (Thyroid Antibodies and LEvoThyroxine Study) so I've had bloods taken to test for thyroid antibodies, can't hurt right! if I don't it's another thing to cross off the list! If I do they'll give me drugs to take for my next pregnancy. I have been reffered to the rmc clinic and will get an appointment in about 8 weeks. Not allowed to get pregnant again so looks like I'll be getting the coil put back in. Think I will continue to track ovulation for the information and am getting my GP to print off my test results, all to take to my appointment when the time comes. I will get onto BR to have his tests done now, again!

On the plus side, this is the end of my mental 15 month ttc journey, it is currently out of my hands. I will not be getting pregnant for at least 5/6 months so am going to relax and have fun for that time. Also I appear to have lost half a stone! Bonus Grin

I have to go make dinner now, I will try and catch up with everyone over the next week, I'm back at work tomorrow and start nights on friday, plus the in-laws are coming to stay this week so may be awol but lurking!

Sending lots of woo vibes and sticky thoughts! Grin

Triplespin · 07/04/2014 17:45

missh thinking of you.

Seasides · 07/04/2014 17:11

How did it go this morning, missh?

HollyBen · 07/04/2014 15:27

Woo hoo seasides fx for a nice uneventful pregnancy

Thinking of you missh

GailLondon · 07/04/2014 13:27

Lacey I still have my fingers crossed for you. With my previous successful pregnancy, I didn't do any early poas'ing, then the day AF was due, there was a fair bit of pink blood fading to brown when I wiped. It all faded away that day, and when AF still hadn't shown up 2 days later I had a very clear BFP and a very uneventful happy pregnancy. We are all thinking of you and everyone else in limbo this week xx

Not a lot to report here, im on CD 10-12ish as last AF was weird and don't quite know where to count day 1 from. Waiting for a positive OPK, hopefully in the next few days!

Cakebaker35 · 07/04/2014 13:27

Thanks jet for the trout, I needed that. Really glad to hear you're back in the saddle and hope I feel ready for that soon.

penguin I second what sebs said! a scan at this stage isn't likely to reveal much that can reassure you but if you're desperate and can't be seen on the nhs then there are private scans available. I had one to confirm my mmc (just had to know) and it was £50 well spent but then I was 10 wks so more conclusive result than you'd get. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

seasides congratulations, amazing news xxx

missh Flowers

LaceyLee · 07/04/2014 12:19

Sometimes nothing, sometimes a tiny bit of brown but no more pink. Totally agree cakes. I think I'm going to request bloods to monitor hcg when I see my GP, hopefully tmrw as we will be back from in laws then.

Metalhead · 07/04/2014 11:34

Thanks seasides, I know it's nothing personal and at least they gave me some feedback. Ironically, they said I did really well in the maths/Excel test, which was the bit I thought might be my downfall... Confused

Penguin13 · 07/04/2014 11:23

Thanks Sebs. Def needed the CUTO reminder.

CakesALot · 07/04/2014 11:18

Thank you sebs, that was a lovely post. You're right,iv also read many stories where even heavy bleeding has turned out to be a blip in the pregnancy and everything is ok. Limbo is a shite place to be but just got to keep plodding through it xx

sebsmummy1 · 07/04/2014 11:11

It seems this spotting business really can go both ways. I know I'm a sick puppy but since the mc I've read an awful lot of stories and kept up to date with various antenatal threads as I kind of needed to know whether early spotting is always bad news (I kind of thought it was) but actually I don't think it is.

There's been people's posts that I really thought were going to end with bad news and their pregnancies are now happily into the second trimester. So I think time is really the only thing that will bare this out. It's horrible when you desperately want answers now, and I wish regular hcg tests were standard on the NHS as I think it would be kinder to know early that the pregnancy wasn't going to work out than allow women to think everything is progressing well only to find out later that's not the case.

I have everything crossed for all those on here that are scared. Today you are pregnant girls xx
