The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

for Meryl!

Cake, we just went for it. Would it help you to have an evening of no sex but lots of, urm, heavy petting?

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 10/04/2014 08:10

Ok ladies, I know I should be fish slapped for this but I did another POAS last night and the faintest of faintest lines came up (one that you have to hold in in certain lights to even see) so i did another this morning and the lines there again, still faint but more obvious! Sorry viperama I couldn't wait (far too impatient!).

I'm just praying now its a sticky. Not telling DH just yet just in case.

officelady · 10/04/2014 06:52

Cakebaker I absolutely second what Viperama said ... alcohol is your friend! We had not got jiggy for months, in fact not since before I got my BFP before the mc, and even though we were both very keen to start ttc, it was building up in my mind like some insurmountable Everest. But hey ho, a few glasses of zinfandel and I jumped on dh after we went to bed. It was great to get that first one out of the way, and actually lovely to be doing "it" again! Just relax and enjoy it Wink
Day 5 of my wtf period today. Still bleeding quite heavily. I need it to disappear by the weekend - the SMEP rules say I need to get my first tith session underway on Sunday. Trouble is we are driving back from Wales that day, and dh has got a big night out on Saturday so he'll be fit for nothing. I need to plan a way of reviving him ready for when we get home on Sun night! And I'll be knackered after a 250 mile drive ... it's going to be the most half-hearted attempt ever!!
LittleMissSunshine sending you a "hurry up af" card - and fx to all those POAS tomorrow!

Viperama · 09/04/2014 22:57

Cake it was tough for us, we ended up having a nice romantic evening out together to get that lovin feeling back. That way when we needed to start DTD with intent again we'd already reconnected. Alcohol also helps lol!

Cakebaker35 · 09/04/2014 22:20

Fish slaps for all the non-Friday poas-ers! but also hoping for some bfps on this thread on Friday Smile

So it's 3 weeks post-erpc, have stopped bleeding and general brown sludge phase thankfully (sorry for tmi) but we're both still a bit nervous of tith, anyone else find it difficult to get things going again or us it just us being rubbish?

Viperama · 09/04/2014 21:32

Meryl I'm 10dpo as well, shall we POAS together on Friday? When is your AF meant to show? Mine varies from a 26 day cycle to 31, so of course I'm banking on a 26! Lol. Which will be on Sunday. Though I ovulated cd12 so that's not to unrealistic a date to get a trustworthy test result.

fish slaps coming my way I POAS this morning as well, bfn! I felt like I had to though as I had such nausea yesterday but a headache as well and felt like I needed to clear the air a bit lol. Any how no headache today or nausea, and I'm not going to symptom spot in future as if

Seriously though I do see the error as pms and pregnancy hormones are the same thing so doesn't make sense to jump at every symptom as they are based on the same hormone. I'll keep telling myself that and maybe one day I'll listen

Carly6971 · 09/04/2014 20:54

Feeling so guilty lol. My poor hubby has been away with work, had a 5am flight, then meetings until 7 in London and now I am making him prepare for a quick bit of tith! Poor mans taking one for the team but I know he would rather be going to bed lol. Bloody smep! (Well as close to as possible with working away and a parent visit imminent). I haven't even got a high on my cbfm yet! I WILL get pregnant in under 6 years this time lol x

LittleMissSunshine33 · 09/04/2014 20:36

Thanks ladies im on CD33 (counting from when I first started bleeding) so I think I'm just being impatient I just want to get back to naked upside down peddling, POAS obsessions and folic acid over dosing!!

Any one POAS soon? I need to live through others whilst I sit and wait Wink

tannyLoo · 09/04/2014 15:25

My first AF post MC was weirdly normal! Spot on cd14 I oved and on cd28 AF started, and ov 14 days after that. It was very heavy and quite clotty and lasted for 6 days, although the last 2 were mostly spotting.

My acupuncturist is pleased that my cycles have become more textbook as before they were on the short side at 26 days.

AF is due on Tuesday, and the exciting news is that she wants me to start charting (I've never bothered before). Although I still have to get through a whole cycle without ttc, it feels like I'm tentatively starting to get ready...

EnglishGirlAbroad · 09/04/2014 12:20

It's very weird Broody. It started fairly normal.. but its dragging out.The clots aren't huge, but they're there. Hope it buggers off by friday (cd8) so i can start Smep. Not that a bit of blood would put dh off!! Blush

MissHobart · 09/04/2014 12:06

Meryl - same for me, exactly 28 days later (normal cycle 29/30) and really short, just 2 days (normally at least 5!) Hmm

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 09/04/2014 11:29

thanks for the warm welcome x

littlemiss my first period came 28 days after my mc, which surprised me in a way as i hadn't expected my body to go back to normal so easily (I figured that a mc is such a major event psychologically that physically I need time to adjust from it but it appeared not!). My period was weird though, very heavy bleeding for 2 days then nothing! I normally bleed for 4 days during af

broodylicious · 09/04/2014 10:48

english mine has been like that too. I passed those three palms worth of clots last Thursday and then nothing all day, fri or sat. Then walking to the start of the marathon on Sunday, I passed a few more clots then bled a bit too (timing eh?!) so assumed it was start of AF proper. Nothing Monday or yday but today, I'm bleeding again. Totally fucked up body. I find this so hard to deal with.

sebsmummy1 · 09/04/2014 10:04

I've just looked back and my first AF came at exactly the time it would have come if the first heavy day of my mc had been my last AF, ie cd26. Funny how the body works.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 09/04/2014 09:56

My first af was pretty much the same as office's. Came as cd23, after anovulatory cycle. Was very light though.

My af this cycle is being very weird - normally have 3-4 days of medium to light bleeding. Now on cd 6 and still bleeding. Although its mainly in the morning, by evening it peters off. And its quite clotty. You think this is because it was a long anovulatory cycle??

Carly6971 · 09/04/2014 09:55

little I got my first af 6.5 weeks after all mc bleeding stopped or about 8 weeks after I started to mc. Hope this helps x

officelady · 09/04/2014 09:40

Littlemiss my first period after mc started about 23(ish) days later. Difficult to be more precise, I counted from the day I passed the sac, I had been bleeding for a few days before that - and it was a mmc so the pregnancy technically ended weeks beforehand. Sorry that's all a bit vague! I'm 99% certain I didn't ovulate before the period though - someone on here (sebs, I think?) suggested the period was triggered once my hcg levels had dropped low enough for my body to realise it wasn't pregnant anymore.
When did you miscarry? And have you had a negative POAS test?

officelady · 09/04/2014 09:35

Welcome to the new ladies, sorry that you find yourselves here but you will find this thread is an immense source of insanity support.
I'm currently on day 4 of my first period after mc, all I can say is OWCH Angry The first 2 days were fine, normal, light to medium bleeding etc, but yesterday and today I've got horrible cramps and lots of blood. It's quite runny compared to my usual bleeding, no idea if this means anything or not! There haven't been any clots or anything that worries me, I just can't wait for it to stop so I can implement my shagging master plan. Mwahahaha!
P.S. I'm really very sorry for the TMI in my post Blush

LittleMissSunshine33 · 09/04/2014 09:32

Hi all haven't been on here for a while as still waiting for first AF after MC have not seemed to have had OV not sure what to do I have a feeling if I go to the drs he will put me on the pill then it will be another three months or so before I can try again.
How long after MC was everyone else's first AF?
Hope there have been some positive stories sorry haven't read through all Wink

EnglishGirlAbroad · 09/04/2014 09:11

Trout being launched in your direction Metal Wink

EnglishGirlAbroad · 09/04/2014 09:10

I am going to go to the doctors when I get back Triple - but i'm in two minds as to what to say.
I don't know wether to mention the mc (which was natural) to gp as they may say to wait a year before they'll look into it. Or to not mention it as in June it'll be a year off the pill and they may take me more seriously...

Sorry for your loss Meryl - I hope you have a short stay with us, you'll find a lot of support and laughs amongst this lovely lot. [smiile]

Metalhead · 09/04/2014 09:06

Welcome Chazel and meryl, I'm sorry for your losses. Hopefully your stay here will be short and you will find some support, I know I have. 10dpo is still quite early for a BFP meryl so fx you're not out yet.

Nothing new to report here. I don't seem to have sore boobs which I always got straight after ov until AF arrived pre-mc, but I'm guessing that could just be my hormones still being a bit weird. Anyway, can someone please slap me with a fish to remind me that symptom spotting is futile...

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 09/04/2014 08:21

Hi ladies

Please can I join this thread? I'm 35 ttc No2 (DS is 2.4y). I had my implant out back in November and got pregnant straight away, however it ended in miscarriage in January.

We halfheartedly decided to try again a couple of weeks again as we're feeling ready again, and although I said I was going to chill out and just see what happens, I've got a bit obsessed already! I'm 10DPO having dtd twice around ovulation (randomly did a ovulation test as I was feeling really horny at it was positive then did one the next day at it was still positive so dtd again). I've been having tingling boobs for the last 4-5 days and had convinced myself I was pregnant but naughtily POAS today and yesterday and of course BFN! I keep saying to myself its still early but can't help feel down about it. Both times I've been pregnant before I was completely relaxed about the whole thing and wasn't particularly aware of being in the TWW however this time I'm well and truly aware of every bloody second of it!!!

Triplespin · 09/04/2014 08:08

english it's probably worth visiting the GP then when you move back as your cycles have not returned back to normal. Did you have a natural mc?

I have heard of using the pill to regulate cycle after mc. Has anyone done that? I fear that my AF may altogether stop or take even longer to come back.

Triplespin · 09/04/2014 08:06

Welcome chazel. Wishing you a short stay, this thread is very lucky!

incaola there is conflicting advice on aspirin. I saw a rmc consultant at st. Mary's (well known for rmc) and was told that if you do not have a clotting disorder and take aspirin on the well-meaning advice that it can't hurt: "at best it will not make a difference and at worst there is a 20% chance of miscarriage". Two days later I went back to the clinic where I had my fertility investigations (one of the best in London) and even without any tests I was recommended to take aspirin from next bfp.

I don't want to alarm you, but just wanted to highlight that experts do not really agree. I think if you do have a clotting issue, then it can help.
