The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Holy crap! I read that thread the other day! What a complete fucktard! I cannot get over her complete and utter stupidity and know it all manner! I'm also dangerously close to be considered 'old'....ShockShock She's a C**t! Sorry!!

CakesALot · 10/04/2014 18:21

Oh penguin, thanks! After a shitty long day at work, that lightened up my commute home loads!! BlushGrin

Penguin13 · 10/04/2014 17:57

I think for me, apart from the many obvious things like the complete lack of self-awareness , immaturity, inability to take advice, assertion that ovulation has nothing to do with periods and calling people over 30 old Shock the worst thing was the fact that she used the word 'genuinity'. Well, I say 'word'.....

MissHobart · 10/04/2014 17:47

Penguin, you forgot the lol! Wink

Penguin13 · 10/04/2014 17:15

Sample quote "we like to dtd every other day. It's our exercise" Hmm

Penguin13 · 10/04/2014 17:12

Bessie,I'm sorry such a long and difficult road has brought you here and that you lost your first little girl and your little bean. Your positive attitude in your position is admirable and you'd be hard pressed to find a lovelier, funnier, more supportive lot of ladies than the ones on this thread. I hope your lap and dye provides some answers.

Gail I totally hear you with the TITH when not in the mood. There have def been a few times when we've been going through the motions. Not sure I have all that much useful advice but I know how you feel! If you want a laugh/ unrealistic expectations about sexy time when ttc you should check out www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2048177-TTC-advice-on-clomid-please?pg=2&order=
this thread.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 10/04/2014 16:50

I got quite annoyed at DH last cycle for not really making much effort with tith. He did his job but left me feeling upset that our sex life had become so forced. I know it needs to be but it's horrible knowing that neither of you are particularly enjoying it.

Bessie, sorry you've found yourself amongst us. And so sorry you lost your first little girl. Stay positive, you will get there. I hope the lap & dye indicates something that can be sorted for you. Good luck! Smile

bessie84 · 10/04/2014 15:59

GailLondon · 10/04/2014 15:52

Thanks guys! I like the early evening suggestion sebs, think that could definitely work for us!
I'd better prepare a full on seduction routine for hubster tonight!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 10/04/2014 15:47

AF arrived today! See all I needed to do we confide in MNers!

Hoorah Meryl! Fingers very much X for a sticky bean!

Friday tomorrow any more POASing?? Whilst I sit patiently waiting for AF to go ... all that time waiting for her and now I want her to leave pretty much like my own Aunt Flo really!! Wink

Gail I often check when the football is on so I can judge if it needs to be morning, afternoon or evening DTD!

sebsmummy1 · 10/04/2014 15:20

Oh Gail I think you are talking for 95% of a long term TTCs. We've all been there. Nothing quite so soul destroying than trying to be all sexual and alluring and getting met with a flaccid willy lol. Poor blokes though. They have so much expectation heaped upon them and then feel really guilty if it doesn't go to plan.

Some guys prefer not to be told when it's a pivitol day, they'd just rather be leapt on. Other guys like it to be on the calender do they know when it's shag day and they can leap in you. For us I know that if I wait till bed time my OH will be too tired to bd. So we get my DS to bed at 8pm, do the shaggy shaggy then have dinner. Works much better that way. Also I try not to wear him out too early in the cycle as otherwise the really important days it all becomes quite difficult. So from cd 8 we bd every other night, then when I'm close to OV it's every night, but only probably for about three nights. Then a break, then one more.

If your OH likes porn then some women have been known to send them into the study to get nice and excited to a video and then come into the bedroom when the gravy is about to be poured. I did suggest that to OH but he isn't really into porn so wasn't keen.

Metalhead · 10/04/2014 15:20

Congratulations meryl! That was one of the shortest stays I've seen on this thread! Smile

I know what you mean sebs, can't believe it's only 5dpo...

Tea I quite often get lines on the opks that stay the same colour for days, then one day I'll suddenly get a really dark one usually followed by a + the next day. So I don't think they're necessarily meant to get progressively darker.

No tips on how to keep the TITH magic going I'm afraid Gail, I quite often find it a chore to do it eod. Thankfully DH has never had any performance issues, but there have been nights when I could tell he wasn't in the mood and I've just let him be (unless it's right around ov time!).

Penguin13 · 10/04/2014 13:58

Tea sorry you've not been feeling well. Hope you're on the mend now. I'm not much help with opks that are non digital I'm afraid. I never really got to grips with them.

Congrats on your BFP Meryl (love the name by the way) When you feel brave enough I have set up a pg after mc thread in ante-natal clubs.

GailLondon · 10/04/2014 13:43

Argh!
I need to find a way to deal with DH's 'performance anxiety' issues. I'm on CD 15, so obviously keen to get plentiful TITH in this week. Hub and I had agreed to go for every other day between CD10 and 20 ish and had been going fine until last night. He came to bed late and tired, tried to get him in the mood but it all fell a bit flat so to speak. I was quite annoyed as we both know it never works if he's tired but he chose to stay up watching bloody football highlights or something on TV and was exhausted by the time he came to bed. I snapped at him that he needed to get his priorities straight which was obviously totally the wrong thing to do but I couldn't stop myself. He then lays awake all night stressing so is doubly exhausted today.
So tonight i want to try again but he really doesn't. I just want to shout at him that if we don't try tonight that will probably be the whole bloody month wasted! But I'm not going to say that as having an argument will only make things worse and him more stressed.

So does anyone have any tips for keeping up with TITH when you're really not in the mood?

TeaRex · 10/04/2014 13:01

Hi all, sorry not been about as been dealing with a lovely tummy bug but will read back tonight. Quick question I've been doing opks but the test line is the same shade everytime, it's not as dark as the control line but it's been days of no change, it should get lighter or darker shouldn't it? I'm cycle day 35 and I did do a hpt to rule out pregnancy just in case even though i have no symptoms. Anyone have this before? (My cycles can go on for up to 3 months so guess I could still be due to ovulate?) hate my fucking body!!!!!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 10/04/2014 11:35

Congrats Meryl - hope those lines get darker and its super sticky for you.

I turned my cbfm on this morning whilst peeing - by the time it'd told me to poas i'd finished peeing!! Doh!! CD7 and a long way from when I normally ov, so not too worried. Must remember to turn pee in my pot first tomorrow!!

tannyLoo · 10/04/2014 10:51

Sebs I read that "arrrhhhh" with a pirate's accent! Don't know what that says about my state of mind!

Meryl well done for adding to the ranks of women who join us just in time to get a bfp! You're welcome!

Cakes I can understand the over thinking thing, but like others, I think start slow, just have a good snogging sesh to get back in the swing of things. We tend to go for the "fancy a shag?" foreplay option, about as subtle as a brick Grin

As everyone is cheating this week, I wonder if there's anyone left to poas tomorrow???

sebsmummy1 · 10/04/2014 09:23

5dpo today and fucking hell this week is going slowly. No POAS for me this cycle but I hate wishing the days away to see if AF appears. Only 7 days to go arrrrgh.

Cakebaker35 · 10/04/2014 09:07

Thank you all, I think I'm just making it too much of a big deal in my own mind, and as you all say perhaps alcohol is my friend for this! I'm away this weekend with a friend so perhaps I'll just jump on dh when I get back!

Fish slaps meryl but excited for you poas again tomorrow!

MissHobart · 10/04/2014 09:07

Congratulations Meryl!

I use OPKs from Amazon twice a day and stick them to a chart I've made each month, will continue to do this to track ovulation to show the consultant when I get to the rmc clinic.

HollyBen · 10/04/2014 08:56

So DH is off to drop of his sample at the hospital for SA testing so we can get referred to the fertility clinic. Poor guy was really uncomfortable about me being in the house will be did the deed so I was dispatched to drop DD off at nursery whilst he knocked one out Blush

6 days to EDD and feeling quite calm about it. Due to ov on the same day so perhaps that's a sign that I am clutching at straws

Anyone taking Zita West vital em or fish oil? I am taking both as recommended by acupuncturist. They seem to be making my wee bright yellow (think highlighter pen)

sebsmummy1 · 10/04/2014 08:50

Carly I've only been using the monitor for a few months. First month I only got highs and got pregnant. Cycle after mc I hit peak, this cycle I hit peak but with only one day of high. So I am certainly not an expert unfortunately.

Some women have more LH in their system naturally and so always show a faint second line. I fall into that category. I assume you normally only have one line showing until you near ov and then the second line shows? If so then it does sound as though you are heading in the right direction.

I keep my sticks and found it quite useful to google 'cbfm sticks' and compare them to other people who had laid all their sticks out and photographed them, to see if mine were doing a similar thing. Could be worth a try if you have kept yours.

Otherwise it does sound hopeful, you've just got to keep POAS and fingers crossed you get your High and obviously Peak!! Xx

Carly6971 · 10/04/2014 08:42

sebs quick question for you as u are the cbfm expert on this thread. I am still on low, cd 16. However today there was a very faint second line. Does this mean I will be getting a high in the next few days? I used to know these sticks inside and out but been years since I used it. I think I remember having to wait for the first line to fade? And the second line to get stronger? Grrrr this looks like it's going to be a long cycle!

sebsmummy1 · 10/04/2014 08:37

Congratulations Meryl Grin

Cake we got back on the horse very early as I was hoping I might ov in my WTF cycle (I didn't) and it was actually very therapeutic to get that closeness and intimacy back again.

I think once you get the first one out the way you'll find it absolutely fine again. It's a mental block at this time as you are still in the process of healing emotionally.

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 10/04/2014 08:35

Thanks boba I'm trying not to get too excited in case it doesn't stick

cake we were really nervous of dtd again, and actually didn't do the 'inny outy' between conceiving for my mc and a couple of weeks ago. Like boba suggest, we just did 'other stuff' until we felt ready to take the plunge so to speak x
