The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Hi Fergie, so sorry you find yourself here. We are lovely but never want new members. Hopefully your stay here will be nice and short.

I miscarried naturally at 6 weeks, though I suspect the pregnancy didn't get beyond 5 as no heart beat was ever seen. I didn't ov in my WTF cycle as I was still testing positive on hpts until after AF left. My period turned up as it normally would for my cycles, cd26, I then ovulated my next cycle. Didn't fall pregnant unfortunately, am now in my third cycle and 6dpo.

I think it tends to work that if you test neg on hpts soon after your mc you stand a good chance of OVing before AF arrives. If your hormones drop off very slowly you will eventually trigger off AF, but it probably won't be a normal period bleed. Mine wasn't hugely heavy but it did last longer and at the end I had cramping and passed quite a few black clots. Next period was normal though xx

Fergie11 · 11/04/2014 08:58

Thanks metal that's really helped.

I chose to have it medically managed with tablets, as this was very recent I am still bleeding. Fingers crossed it won't be long before I can start ttc.

Good luck on your 2ww x

Metalhead · 11/04/2014 08:39

Welcome Fergie, but sorry you find yourself here. Hopefully your stay with us will be short!

I also had a mmc in Feb, for which I had an erpc. I got my period three weeks later and started ttc again after that, currently in my first post-mc 2ww. I don't think I ovulated before my first AF as I didn't have any of the signs and pregnancy tests were still showing faint positives until very shortly before AF arrived. I think it's fine to start trying again as soon as you feel ready, just be aware that you might not ovulate that first cycle and don't be too disappointed if you don't, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong!

Fergie11 · 11/04/2014 08:29

Hi everyone, hope I can join your group.

Congratulations meryl

I have recently had a mmc and I was wondering how soon afterwards did everyone start trying? How long till period afterwards? Also did anyone start checking if they ovulate between mc bleed and next period?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to stay positive and want to start ttc asap xx

Viperama · 11/04/2014 08:17

Okay so is a FRER a first response early result pregnancy test? That's what I used this morning.
As January BFP was my first month trying I didn't record anything so can't remember exactly when I tested but I got BFP two days after AF was due. We had friends staying and tested before they arrived and got a Bfn, that was likely only 1 day before AF due on a 28 day cycle ( mine varies wildly). So if I have a 28 day cycle this time AF might not be due for another 5 days. Clutching at straws much?

Carly6971 · 11/04/2014 08:13

Pmsl Meryl, it's to early for me! I read DH not ds! Oh Christ am i the only one who's DH behaves like a 2 year old when drunk lol x

bessie84 · 11/04/2014 08:06

Metalhead - LOL at your DD. i think its a girl thing, my boy was sooooooo laid back compared to my girl. shes 4, and i think id prefer the terrible two's back than her little attitude now. Arent they funny (not so) creatures. x

bessie84 · 11/04/2014 08:03

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Keep reading posts a giggling to myself. you are a funny bunch :D

congrats on the BFP Meryl. best feeling in the whole world.

Sorry for a bfn, but like you, ive had bfn and then few days later bfp... so ya not out just yet viper, hang in there, even tho its disheartening. x

Metalhead · 11/04/2014 08:01

Welcome bessie and so sorry for your losses. I hope you get another BFP soon.

meryl that's definitely a line! congratulations again! Sorry it was a BFN for you today Viper, but you're not out yet. I think the 10miu/ml ICs are the most sensitive tests along with the FRERs.

DD is currently standing at the top of the stairs screaming her head off over god knows what... probably because I didn't come running when she was grunting at me instead of using words and asking nicely. [sigh] The terrible twos are nothing compared to the atrocious threes or whatever it's called!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 11/04/2014 07:53

Sorry for the bfn Viper - but these threads have told shown me that is entirely possible to test a few days before af and get bfn, only for a bfp to show a few days later. Frer's are supposed to good at detecting early. I got mine on a frer at 11dpo.

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 11/04/2014 07:53

bessie I forgot in my excitement earlier to welcome you. I'm sorry you've had such a difficult past and hope that you get your BFP very soon. This group might be your lucky charm, it certainly worked for me (BFP within hours of joining!) x

Cakebaker35 · 11/04/2014 07:48

Congrats Meryl.

Viper I've always been told the frer tests are best for early testing.

Any more poas-ers today??

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 11/04/2014 07:48

viper the tests I brought are extra sensitive 10 miu/ml, so they are going to pick up hcg earlier than your bog standard tests. Fingers crossed when you test on Monday you get a bfp. Do you feel like you might be pregnant?

carly it was my 2 year old son running me ragged at the wedding last night, not my husband Grin - I'm just trying to imagine DH running around like a mad thing!

Carly6971 · 11/04/2014 07:29

Congrats Meryl...I too see the line :) your hubby sounds a lot like mine once he's got a few drinks in him :)

Viper fingers crossed your just too early then. Role on Monday :)

I hope I don't turn in to a Poas addict lol...I was always very good at waiting for af even if she was late, due to dodgy cycles and finding her showing up a lot easier than bfn after bfn - which as you can imagine is how it always went for me :/ however I have a feeling I won't be as good this time round :/

Anyways hubby is off today so nice chilled one before a massive round trip to Essex tomorrow to meet the besties new baby, can you be excited and dread something at the same time lol x

Viperama · 11/04/2014 07:28

Congratulations Meryl!!

I've a question, I'm using standard over the counter POAS tests bought in drug store. But usually bfp's I've seen on these threads are via these wee sticks as Meryl has. Are they better for early tests than what I'm using? Don't understand why I'm so tired if I'm not preggers, Meryl and I are same dpo.

Viperama · 11/04/2014 07:23

Morning. BFN for me on 12DPO this morning. DP thinks I'm silly testing to early and wants to on Monday which is AF due. When I got my BFP in January I initially got a BFN just before AF so think I'm a slow hormone builder, that sound kind of perverted written down Haa

EnglishGirlAbroad · 11/04/2014 07:21

Morning!!
Can see the line Meryl, congrats!
Viper.....c'mon!!

sebsmummy1 · 11/04/2014 06:57

Viper I am here and waiting for you to piss on a stick Grin

merylstreepcouldplaybatman · 11/04/2014 06:54

Morning ladies.

Is anyone else up yet? Any POAS results?

viper here's my official POAS photo, can you see the line? It looks darker today than yesterday which is a relief. Still not telling anyone yet!

Went to a wedding last night just me and my ds. He was a complete nightmare, running off into the kitchens, out the door, into the band tangling himself in the wires! I spent the whole time chasing after him and feel like I've done a work out this morning as I ache all over!

Viper I'll be awake about 6.30 so any time after that and I'll be on tenterhooks!

Fuck, how tempted was I to add a few choice words to that thread. What a complete fucktard! If 30 is old, I'd better start preparing my family for my descent into senility...

Cakebaker35 · 10/04/2014 20:52

sebs argh to the time passing slower than a snail feeling, we need a ttc time machine.

gail totally recommend the early evening timing for tith, we would never manage it at bed time, too knackered! We went for the every other day route when I got preggers last time, we both found that easier to cope with than daily.

bessie welcome and may your stay here be short.

viper keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow.

I'd better not read that thread, I will just get the rage and end up posting something and being banned from mn!

broodylicious · 10/04/2014 19:52

I am ashamed to have part of the same nickname of that ignoramus. I came across her the other day on a thread about Peaches Geldof dying; she's an absolute joker and made some infuriating remarks. It's not like me to let ridiculous and insensitive comments wash over me but I just had to the other night because I was so shocked - Peaches has been quite inspirational for me in the last year or so as she's raised a great deal of interest in attachment parenting/natural parenting (what we do) and always came across as very intelligent and well read about the science behind it all. Such a shame for her boys and her family Hmm anyway, soz, went off thread a bit there!

Littlelady33 · 10/04/2014 19:15

Hello ladies been away for a few days celebrating return of AF 5 weeks post ERPC which isn't so bad right? Welcome to newbies and good luck to all who will poas tomorrow, hoping for some great news. That thread is unbelievable by the way. But at my advanced age I'm probably senile too so what would I know? Wink

Viperama · 10/04/2014 18:52

I'm not even going to look at that thread, I work with a moron and thats enough exposure for me thanks muchly!

So Tanny and Sunshine I am POAS tomorrow! it's only 12DPO so not sure i'll get a result though. I have a FRER which seems better than CB from what I've seen on these threads.

Meryl will you POAS with me to make it official? Any more for any more out there?

Seasides · 10/04/2014 18:47

Shock at that thread penguin, my blood pressure is through the roof reading it! Silly girl.

The days are going soooo slowly, I swear time actually stopped for a few hours today. And pretty sure my colleagues think I've got a UTI I've been in and out of the loo on knicker watch so often.

Bessie, you sound amazing, I am so sorry for everything you've been through. I hope you get your sticky BFP really soon.

Good luck with the seduction tonight everyone, and for anyone p-ingoas tomorrow.
