Anyone want to join me?

I'm 36 yo, ttc #1 and very excited about it. It's something I have wanted to do for a long time but it took me a while to find mr right!

l know I am no spring chick so I have some anxieties around that but I am trying to do everything right (eating well, exercising, cutting out alcohol/caffeine etc) and I want to start off optimistic :) am a seasoned pessimist/worrier!

Have been tracking my cycle for a good while. My periods are pretty regular and I thought I could feel my ovary twinging (strongly) when it wad supposed to. This has synched with positive opks so I guess I will soon be starting my first 2ww.

Hi Coop, we're at exactly the same point! My best friend had a baby yesterday, I'm excited for her yet still jealous!

Coop7 · 25/07/2014 10:02

MaGratgarlik1983 · 22/07/2014 21:40

Hi, can I join in too - I'm 31, DH 32, ttc our first. Was so hopefully that the first month trying would be our month but got my AF yesterday. Very sad but feeling better now - time for a couple of wines and then back on the DTD bus at the start of Aug :)
Just discovered this forum a few days ago and already it's a lifeline!

LadesC · 22/07/2014 17:51

Hello ladies.....nice to recognise some old names and see some new ones too. Bakingmad...how r u getting on? And impatiently...sorry to hear ur newsSad and hope ur doing ok. Now on second month of ttc after the misc/chem pregnancy and altho wasnt at all enthusiastic the first month im now back to peeing on sticks!! Fingers crossed for end of the month. LOTS of people announcing their pregnancies at work who would have been due around same time as me which was a bit rough but onwards and upwards...... x

Pixa · 05/07/2014 08:38

EMac - Sorry to hear of your loss. Wishing you all the best for the future x

Hi All, are you happy for me to join you?

We aren't TTCing now; we are taking Pregnacare conception his and Hers and I am taking an added omega supplement. I have had a preconception doctors check up. We are now just waiting until we are legally wed and on the honeymoon to do some babymaking. We came odd the pill and swapped to condoms a whole while ago now, and my body clock seems to be back to 'normal'. The good news is we only have ten weeks to go until we are TTC.

I am 23 (24 in a couple of weeks), H2B is 33. We both work in local government. I was always predominantly career focussed until H2b and I started joking about having kids. One day, out of the blue, he asked me how we would decorate a nursery. Then it hit me. Like a tonne of bricks. An absolute innate, guttural urge. I must have this man's babies! Haha. He definitely Derren Brown'd me into it...

impatientlywaiting14 · 04/07/2014 22:20

Hello Ladies and Welcome Emac66 and all the newcomers, there's been loads:)

Feeling better after my break away from this thread after the miscarriage/chemical pregnancy. Af flow returned after just over 4 weeks from miscarriage so im more inclined to think it was a chemical pregnancy so that makes me feel a little better. Nice to be back to normal Bodywise never thought id say I welcome AF!

I have actually had an offer for a new job and start my training soon looking forward to that and having that as a focus. I'm going to hold of ttc for a couple of months to allow myself to heal internally from loss (and from op) to get settled into my new job, but most importantly to heal emotionally and feel ready as at the moment if i was to fall pregnant I would be terrified its going to happen again.

Emac66 Hugs to you i'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I also suffered my loss at 5 weeks. It was over 6 weeks ago now I already had my scan date in the post, it would have been this week coming up :(
I understand what your saying about going back to day one. So near but so far away. It's very frustrating and heart wrenching knowing what would have been, the plans you would have been making now and you have to go all the way back to square one. I wish you luck with everything and also hope you can be kinder to yourself regarding the termination you did what was right for you at the time. Hugsss Flowers

Glados2point0 · 02/07/2014 18:54

Well, had my nurse appt today, where the best she could do was suggest I take folic acid, which I'd worked out for myself already. The first appointment I can get to get the coil out is in two weeks time, which has left me feeling a bit deflated as I was hoping to get something sooner than that, but given DH is away with work next week anyway I guess it doesn't make that much difference.

Big hugs to you eMac, and fingers crossed for you, and newleaf, and everyone else waiting anxiously for things to happen!

acquiescence · 30/06/2014 12:50

crazycatlady82 I am my second month of charting properly with temping, checking CM etc. I also used an app for ages which I realised was inaccurate! I would recommend temping to get an idea of what your body is doing. I am not planning to continue it for the whole time as I think its better to be a bit more relaxed about BD, as long as you know roughly when you O.

OV sticks don't seem to work for me! Hoping there is not an issue with hormones - I drink a lot of water so think its always too diluted?

EMac66 · 30/06/2014 11:27

Hello all, room for one more?
I am 31 and ttc #1 with my lovely husband. We've been together over five years, married for one and had my copper coil removed early May this year.
I have been pregnant twice before - one ended in a chosen termination at seven weeks seven years ago (partner left me when he found out about the accidental pregnancy, turns out I had very poor judgement! Also I had been made redundant, had to move back in with parents etc); one ended in miscarriage a month ago at 5 weeks. We had fallen pregnant just 9 days after having the coil out.
Anyway, the miscarriage was sad but we're very realistic people, we knew the high stats and are just getting on with it. But I can't help feeling so thoroughly miserable that my period came last night! I should be thrilled everything has gone back to normal so quickly (it arrived 27 days after the miscarriage!) but I can't shake the disappointment.
I also can't shake the niggling feeling that it was punishment for having the termination. My DH is telling me I need to snap out of that frame of mind but it's not easy!
I know it's early days yet but it's so cruel, knowing we could have been going for our scan in a few weeks and now I'm back to day one of the cycle. Sigh.
So glad these forums are out here for me to vent! xx

NewLeafExpat · 30/06/2014 10:08

Glados2point0 · 29/06/2014 19:51

Hi everyone, can I join?

We are about to start TTC #1, I'm 34, we got married last month, and bought a house earlier this year, so I finally feel we have everything in place for me to feel happy starting a family. He's fully on board with the idea as well :) we've been talking about it for ages, waiting to reach this point, but it feels a bit scary now we are actually here!

Bought some vitamins and folic acid today, which made it feel a lot more real. I've got an appointment with the nurse on Tuesday (registering with a new practice and they like to see everyone, seems a good time to bring it up). I've been using the mirena coil for the past few years and need to arrange to get that removed, but as soon as thats done its all systems go.

Prior to the coil I was on the pill for 12 years, so I have no idea what my body does naturally - I'm planning to start tracking my temperature and so on just to see if it helps - I'm a data nerd anyway, so its hardly anything unusual for me.

I've not got anyone irl I'm comfortable telling that we are trying, so I just need somewhere to be excited or sad.

Best of luck to everyone trying at the moment!

Glados

crazycatlady82 · 29/06/2014 14:09

Hi acquiescence I am doing a bit of charting on my phone using an app but it turns out when I thought I was ovulating I wasn't, or at least not according to the ovulation sticks. I was ovulating sooner so potentially missing it every mth Sad

Are you charting at the moment? Or using ovulation sticks?

As I said I worked out on Friday I was ovulating so poor DH has been made to give me sex every day - tbh he isn't really complaining that much Grin thank god it's the weekend - it would have been more tricky doing all this mid-week!

I have heard great things about acupuncture too, but I haven't tried it. Have you?

It must be really difficult for you with your best friend being pregnant too. I think you reach a certain age and everyone around you one by one gets pregnant and if you are a person that wants children it just puts emphasis on the fact you're not pregnant.

I realised eventually that I was kidding myself when I said I wasn't that bothered.

LK amazing news! Delighted for you Grin Thanks

xx

acquiescence · 29/06/2014 10:36

Hi crazycatlady

I have just joined too. My feelings are similar to yours - everyone seems to be pregnant and almost all of them first time or when 'not really trying anyway'. One of my best friends is just about to have her first scan - we always hoped we would be pregnant together as we planned to start trying at the same time : (

Interesting to hear about reflexology - I have thought about trying acupuncture as have heard some positive things.

Are you charting etc now?

Good luck everyone!

crazycatlady82 · 29/06/2014 09:38

Hi there,

Can I join?

I am on another thread too but maybe this is the right one for me. So confusing as I kind of apply to both...

I am 31. DH and I have been TTC since about Feb last year. Probably not paying that much attention to when I was ovulating etc.

This month it's weird but I had this overwhelming feeling I wanted to be a mum (not helped by the fact it feels like every woman I know is either pregnant or just given birth).

I am taking my pre-natal multi-vit. Plus Calcium and Vit D3 and Choline. Completely stopped alcohol - boo! hiss! And testing for ovulation. Which is now! Yay!

Just can't wait to be pregnant!

I also went to reflexology on Friday and can confirm, despite the initial scepticism, a total weird, yet relaxing experience... She asked me to tell her when she touched a part on my foot which is 'tender' so I say there - my ovaries and then again 'there' - it was my womb... Shock not thinking anything of it because it could be a load of old bollocks but, still very weird. Also a 'tender' bit was my bladder so I spent the rest of the day thinking I had a UTI Confused

I also met my cousin yesterday and she is 6mths pregnant. I am so happy for her, but wish I could be her wee pregnant buddy. Now living vicariously through her and throwing a baby shower for her - yay!

One of my friends has also had a 5 week old baby - so uber cute Smile

Yes I do think I may have lost the plot a little...

Anyway good luck to everyone else TTC and happy relaxing sunday

xx

acquiescence · 28/06/2014 16:16

Hello! Please can I join?

We have been trying for 6 months now - charting with FF - temps, cervix and CM. Using pregnacare conception vitamins, omega 3 and using mucinex and evening primrose oil for EWCM (really helps!). I'm 30 with no previous pregnancies.

Good luck everyone x

efilbean · 26/06/2014 10:54

Welcome, BrixtonBunny!
I'm with you on the cocktail. I'm taking folic acid, vit. D and will start on flaxseed for the omega soon too. Shake me and I'd rattle ;)

BrixtonBunny · 21/06/2014 23:43

Hello - hope you don't mind me joining in? I'm 26, had IUD out last month, seemed like I was fertile a few days ago (I use period tracker & did a few ovulation tests) so have been DTD every other day as DP and I have decided to TTC. Currently taking a cocktail of pregnacare conception & lots of omega vits, and trying to be a bit healthier. Really looking forward to sharing experiences with others!

NewLeafExpat · 20/06/2014 06:18

hi olive have u tried a pregnancy/TTC app? I use Fertility Friend and although I don't chart my temperatures it helps chart CM and other ovulation signs...

And at least gives u a record of periods for when they do come around. my first AF post pill took over 50 days to show up, since then my cycles have been 30/31/32 days approx. I would never have known/noticed/remembered cycle length if I wasn't using the app and probably would have thought my periods were much more irregular than they actually are!
Wink

bakingmad83 · 19/06/2014 14:22

Sorry to hear you're feeling rotten oliveobsessed. It must be awful to not know exactly where you are with your periods when ttc. Hopefully the hormonal changes will settle down soon.

oliveobsessed · 19/06/2014 12:28

Hi bakingmad83 one of the annoyances is that I don't know when I am late as my periods were between none existent and sporadic whilst on the implant. The technical term for how i feel today is sh*t (grumpy, teary, bloated, crampy and sick).

efilbean · 19/06/2014 11:46

My sinuses are really stuffy this morning and my nose is a bit swollen. I know this is just my silly sinuses playing up with the muggy weather - as they often do - but of course, now I'm wondering if every little thing is a symptom xD

bakingmad83 · 18/06/2014 15:15

Nice to have some new members on this thread, welcome :)

I'm glad to hear you're feeling a little better impatientlywaiting, I can only imagine how hard it must be, though I had prepared myself in case they told me I'd had a missed miscarriage at my scan.

Oliveobsessed, bloating was and still is one of my symptoms, though I understand you not wanting to poas too early - I waited till I was 8 days late to do that.

Good luck to everyone!

efilbean · 18/06/2014 13:40

Got everything crossed for you, olive, and for every one on here TTC.

oliveobsessed · 18/06/2014 11:18

Really bad stomach cramps last not sure if that is a good or bad thing
