Anyone want to join me?

I'm 36 yo, ttc #1 and very excited about it. It's something I have wanted to do for a long time but it took me a while to find mr right!

l know I am no spring chick so I have some anxieties around that but I am trying to do everything right (eating well, exercising, cutting out alcohol/caffeine etc) and I want to start off optimistic :) am a seasoned pessimist/worrier!

Have been tracking my cycle for a good while. My periods are pretty regular and I thought I could feel my ovary twinging (strongly) when it wad supposed to. This has synched with positive opks so I guess I will soon be starting my first 2ww.

Hello. I've been on and off these boards lurking around and posting ab und zu but by no means regular!

I'm 26 and ttc #1, this is my 3rd cycle. I say cycle rather than month as my cycle is delightfully 39 days long, so this has been slooooooowwwwwwwww and lots of waaaaaiting which is crap as I'm the original little miss impatient!

Anywho, been peeing on super-spendy clearblue digi sticks (I honestly only bought them during last cycle 2ww to invoke the law of sod - I.e. If I spend £30 on plastic stuff Sod's law is I'll be pregnant and won't need them! Didn't work) and after 4 days of flashing smiley (and cursing his smug little face) today I got a solid smile! Feel like I've won half the battle.

Good luck to everyone! Here's hoping the good news starts rolling thick and fast.

Hi Patienceisvirtuous

Sorry to hear of your disappointment :( and also to baking mad

I forgot to mention in my first post I also was having pregnancy symptoms before Af was due last month (my first cycle ttc) and then started Af a day earlier. I must of kidded myself into thinking id prepared for it and wasn't that dissapointed as later that week it hit me quite hard and I had a few down days. My close friend had also not long announced her unplanned pregnancy so I was finding it all a bit tough.

Due Af next week don't want to sound negative but not holding out any hope as don't think we caught it at all around ovulation. Will wait and see what happens xx

good luck to you all on here
xxx

Also I'm a student midwife which is why everyone tells me it's a bad idea but when your body needs a baby what can you do??

Fleurlur · 01/04/2014 23:52

Can I join in? I'm 23, I'm having my implanon took out tomorrow so will be TTC from then! Have only told my friends who have all told me what a bad idea this is so that's a bit of a downer. I have the book Taking Charge of your Fertility and I am looking forward to being in tune with my body again after being on contraception for 8 years!

bradders85 · 30/03/2014 09:50

Hi all and welcome Lk265. Sorry AF has arrived for some of you ladies......I am having a rather odd cycle, no AF yet cd35 which is late for me (normally 30/31 days) however due to my odd 3 bleeds last month I am not sure if I am late as a result of that really.

I have all the symptoms of AF and even wore a pad the other day as I felt I was going to start.......but nothing - just a bit when I wiped (sorry if tmi) but it was a darker colour. I did poas on tuesday and bfn so I am wondering when af is actually going to arrive!!

Lk265 · 29/03/2014 01:16

Oops silly phone *assume was meant to say was!

Lk265 · 29/03/2014 01:14

Can I join too?
Just read your messages and coming to the end was sad to see af had come for some of you I assume so hopeful!
We are just starting TTC 1st cycle... I am 27,married 2 years. Came off my implant in Nov but we waited till now as know Dec is earliest could deliver! Feel naively optimistic and just so excited. This has been my fertile week so will have to wait and see if anything happens! Tried Opk sticks but not convinced by the lines etc...

bakingmad83 · 28/03/2014 21:00

Sorry to hear you haven't been lucky this month either. Mine arrived on Tuesday after convincing myself I had some pg symptoms and I was more disappointed than I thought I wuld be too. Here's to better luck next month :)

How are the rest of you doing?

patienceisvirtuous · 28/03/2014 08:39

patienceisvirtuous · 26/03/2014 13:28

How is everyone doing?

I'm due AF this Friday and I'm sure she's on her way. My boobs are killing, my hair is greasy, I have pmt and I'm starting to get mild cramps...

D*mn it :)

Mrs Hairspray.....isn't it a pain our men working away!! My partner is away at the minute and according to the offshore planner is going to miss all of my opportune times over the next few months.....typical!! You won't be having much luck either with your DH in Saudi!

Hope your cycle sorts itself - sure it will given time. I got examined by the doctor and all fine and just had to provide urine sample - not heard anything so assuming all good!

MrsHairspray · 21/03/2014 11:38

Bradders that's good to know, I might need to think about booking an appointment if my cycle doesn't sort itself out soon. I understand about the offshore working as well, DH sometimes has to do this and this week announced he might be flying off to Saudi on a business trip soon.... yep that helps with the baby making!

LadesC I LOVE it!

bradders85 · 20/03/2014 20:53

Hi all, I'd like to join this thread too! 29 years old TTC number 1.

Been trying since August but not had much action some months due to partner working offshore a lot of the time!! Fell into 28 day cycles after coming off the pill but then last month had 3 bleeds during the month. Went to the doctors and got checked over - was told one month like that is no cause for concern just go back if it happens this month too but so far nothing so thats a positive thing - think AF due around the 24th but not hopeful this month think timings were all wrong! Good luck ladies!

LadesC · 20/03/2014 18:08

A BFN for me this evening, although used a first response and Im 5 days before AF due so holding onto glimmer of hope that I might just be too early. Got far too carried away with a few spells of nausea and crampy pains yesterday....prob just trapped wind ;-)

I too have a pinterest baby board Mrs Hairspray...Im nothing if not COMPLETELY over prepared should a baby ever become a reality.

impatientlywaiting14 · 20/03/2014 15:59

Thanks bakingmad83
Not sure if you were referring to me about the name? if so not to worry my user name is quite long only added the numbers as it was taken.
Yes hopefully and it does seem a friendly board so should feel better venting on here.

Im Sorry to hear that spence24 horrible when your body plays tricks on you isnt it :(

Last cycle I was getting all the symptoms of pregnancy and friends going oooh one of my friends was convinced it would be the last cycle. had AF turn up a day early. So onto trying this month now.

Hopefully we can all support each other fingers crossed for all of you xxxx

spence24 · 20/03/2014 09:57

I am now on day 37 of a normally 29 or 32 day cycle. BFN this morning, and a hug from OH before he left for work. Really not sure where I stand with my own body any more and it's winding me up! Now I have a day of working from home on my own to dwell on it and get more frustrated!

Becter1985 · 20/03/2014 09:51

Thanks bakingmad83, I'll bear that in mind Smile

bakingmad83 · 20/03/2014 07:48

Apologies, just realised I got both of your names wrong Blush, so sorry, going to blame still being half asleep

bakingmad83 · 20/03/2014 07:08

Becter you might not need separate vit D as might already be in the preconception multivits, so I'd check the pack first - saves you paying twice and overdosing (the amount for vit D recommended is 10iu).

Hello impatiently waiting, hopefully won't be too long till you get a bfp and in the meantime lots of nice people on here to keep you company :)

Hello Brybaby, sorry to hear about bfn. Not sure what it could be if you're not under stress and your weight is healthy. Occasionally you hear of women who don't get bfp for a number of weeks, and I suppose not everyone gets symptoms, so you could perhaps see your GP if you're always very regular and they might suggest a blood test for hcg?

byrdbaby · 20/03/2014 05:34

First time on these threads so forgive me if I don't use acronyms throughout. 40yr old, 0 children, TTC. Currently 22 days without AF. 2 tests taken 1 week and 2 weeks ago, respectively, BFN. Was nauseous but that's gone. No breasts tenderness at all. Fatigue but my career allows for fatigue so not sure. Healthy, no stress, Weight is normal range, size 8. Exercise daily. DH is amazing. Second month TTC ever. No Fertility drugs yet. Cycles usually 28 days. What else could it be? BOB.

impatientlywaiting14 · 19/03/2014 23:31

Hi Can I join?

Its my 2nd month (offically) ttc and im soo impatient already, goodness knows how the lovely ladies on here who have been waiting longer do it. I think its all magnified by the fact i don't have anyone else close that is ttc and understands how im feeling. I also have endometriosis and although told by consultant it shouldn't affect my fertility i am worried as hell. Not sure where i fit in on here, have looked on the fertility board and those poor ladies have been waiting months, years, decades even with failed treatments or no answer as to why. I have nothing on paper to say i should have have any problems..still worry though. Hopefully once i can talk it out on here with people in a similar boat to me I will feel better :)

Becter1985 · 19/03/2014 21:52

Thanks ladies.
Will get myself some vitamin D & Multi vits
I agree with bakingmad83...every so often won't hurt Smile

bakingmad83 · 19/03/2014 21:41

I'm sure a couple of glasses now and then while ttc won't hurt :)
