binkybunny · 13/03/2014 19:18

Hi all. Yay to Helen and damn right on the Prosecco!

weebairn glad to hear you are feeling better. Thought I was too but sick all day yesterday and fell asleep at my desk this afternoon Blush You must be so so excited for your scan mines two weeks today!

Kiki whens your scan? I'm on my phone so cant scroll back.

lalanic I tested 3 days before af due and got a bfn then tested exactly a week after bfn and got 3 bfps Smile

We are convinced we're having a boy but at the moment I'll just be happy with either. Have not stressed too much as we had a 6 week scan but now 12 weeks is getting closer I'm scared my little tadpole won't have grown!

misskgb · 13/03/2014 17:02

Yaaaaaaay helen!!! Doing a little dance for u!! Id go with every 2-3 days throughout if u can. Worked for me :-)

Lalanic-I was due on the Friday but had awful nausea so poas on sunday n got a feint but definitely there line. Told dh I needed to know to help me cope with the nausea!!!

Always thought id want a boy (im not girly in the slightest) but my niece is now 2 n has taught me girls aint so bad. Also thought I wouldn't find out what we're having but considering it now as I want to go n buy lots of beautiful clothes n bits so that its not always in beige when it arrives!

Weebairn I didn't see your message - good luck to you too for scan! Must finally feel real :)

lalanic · 13/03/2014 14:02

Helen the thought of you breaking open bottle to celebrate made me smile but it's totally understandable! I would go with the idea of taking it easy and seeing what happens, the doctors say it is better to dtd every 2 days through month rather than focus only on ovulation.

Kiki let us know how you get on - how very exciting!

Lady totally agree about the smiley face ones - they made me feel like I'd just won a prize or something!

Those of you who are pregnant how long after you were due did you get a bfp result?

Hazelbrowneyes · 13/03/2014 08:45

Ah H I am SO pleased you’re on CD2 today! Brilliant news. Grin

I’m using OPKs in the afternoon. It’s working well for me. I tend to get home around 5ish so I have my last drink and wee at work around 3.30/4pm then I wait until 5.30/6pm before I PIAC. Yesterday’s line was definitely darker than the day before but still not quite as dark as the control line. I am only CD11 though.

Temping as well although I’m a bit clueless as to what I’m doing there!

I’m feeling pretty good actually. I’ve got a stressful few months ahead and I’m worried about falling pregnant in that time and the stress making me mc so I’m very much if it happens, it happens and if it doesn’t, it’s not the end of the world. I do feel better now I’m doing my OPKs, mainly because I should have a better idea as to when AF/BFP will arrive.

I’m eating better and drinking less too. I’m considering cutting out booze altogether. I had a few glasses of cava last night and woke up at 3am with horrendous palpitations and reflux. Same happened Sunday (when I last had a drink). I just can’t be bothered to deal with that.

weebairn · 13/03/2014 08:19

Hello! Nearly lost this thread. Just thought I'd come and say hi again. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, which feels like a great milestone to get to. Tiredness and sickness have both got a lot better the last few days, thank god. Work has been such a ordeal. I managed not to have any sick days, but it has been really really hard. Boyfriend has been helping a lot with the toddler.

Got my scan a week today. Excited and a little nervous. Seems like such a long wait!

I don't think I have a preference for gender this time (last time I wanted a boy and got an awesome girl :D ) - we probably won't find out, we didn't last time either.

mrsb Sorry you've had such a rough time of it, that sounds awful. I've been nauseous for weeks on end but not actually vomiting. Hope you are starting to feel better. In my experience, first trimester is DEFINITELY the worst bit. (Last two or three weeks are pretty hideous too but at least everyone knows you're pregnant then and looks after you!)

helen glad you finally got your period! Wow what a wait…. hope things settle down for you this cycle!

Kiki glad you're starting to feel better. First trimester is no joke! I am also shitting myself about twins. I just have no idea how you would do twins & toddler - I would never work again! Still I have no bump yet and I think you get that early with twins! I feel a little bigger in the evenings but I am still in my normal clothes - last time I was for quite a while - till about 20 weeks I think - but I had lots of friends who were in maternity clothes from 5 or 6 weeks, and they didn't get particularly big over the whole pregnancy. It's all very random! I am too superstitious to get my box of mat clothes down from on top of the cupboard until a bit later!! :D

Ladymillion · 13/03/2014 07:20

PS I'm too scared to think about the boy/girl thing, just hoping for a healthy embryo! I'd love a girl though Blush

Ladymillion · 13/03/2014 07:19

Oh Helen, that's great LOL at your DH opening a bottle of prosecco to celebrate!

I mostly did OPKs in the morning but occasionally did them in the evening too. My first positive was a morning one. I had positives over 3 days in the end so I'm unsure as to the actual day of ovulation. After my first positive opk I did a clear blue one just to see that smiley face but they're far too expensive to use throughout the month like the cheapie ones!

mrshjb · 12/03/2014 20:44

Well it's officially cd1 today wooohoooo!!!

Lady- I meant what time of the day?! I'm still undecided whether to use them or not but thought I might try and prepare myself over the next few days for if I do!!

Wow twins would be a very scary thought. When I was younger I always thought it would be a good idea because then you'd only have to be pregnant once, but that was in the days before I'd seen what looking after one baby was like!! Kiki, soooo exciting that you'll be having your scan this week. What an exciting first milestone that would be!

Have any of you started to think whether you'd like a boy or a girl?!

Lalanic- seriously hope you're out of limbo land soon. 26 days of it has been pretty shocking to be honest. DH cracked out a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate the arrival last night!!

Hazel, how are you feeling starting another cycle? Really hope this is your lucky month :)

I can't really decide whether to properly TTC or whether to try not to think about it and just dtd every 2-3 days throughout the month and just see what happens. In a way I want it to be happen really badly and in another way I cant bare going through the same stress as last month so wonder if I need to take it easy for a bit and see if my cycles settle down.

misskgb · 12/03/2014 19:05

Lalanic u have to put * at the start n end of their name (or any word) to make it bold

The other thread had a maximum 1000 msgs so it got locked!!

Hey kiki. My mums a twin n she's got 6 singular grand children already so im very nervous about the very real possibility of twins. At only 5 weeks a lot of my trousers feel much tighter n im gagging to rip them off at the earliest opportunity. I did think about getting maternity trousers for comfort but most books/websites say around 16 weeks so thought I was being ridiculously premature! !

lalanic · 12/03/2014 14:19

Hiya! I wondered what happened to that thread, very confused! How are you all?

I'm in limbo just now - 5 days late and again a bfn. Boobs are very sore today. No idea what's going on, just going to wait and see what happens!

How do you tag people to reply to their messages on here?

KikiThePea · 12/03/2014 11:01

Hi mrsb. I run my own business so have gotten away with the difficulties associated with being ill at the workplace to some extent - I've been mostly sofa bound and being on a laptop all day has been a killer, but at least I've been able to stay in pyjamas when necessary and wear sunglasses indoors to avoid the glare. The disastrous part has been that we've started work on a fairly big press campaign for the business so dealing with various people in the media on the phone and attempting to sound peppy about business things has been a bit of a challenge!

I've actually come to the conclusion that I must have a stomach of steel considering how rarely the all-consuming nausea ever progressed past that point.

I know what you mean about the ridiculous bloating. I've not been eating anywhere near as much as I really should have been, but I will admit to actually branching out into maternity jeans early just for the comfort aspect. Some people apparently stay in their 'normal' clothes for months and months - I am not destined to be one of them, sadly - but thank goodness for Topshop maternity and their nice, normal, non-frumpy selection!

There's actually twins on both sides of my family (which I had just conveniently ignored as a fact up until a couple of weeks ago...I actually hadn't even twigged about one set of them because they live on the other side of the world and I never see them), but then anyway the midwife noted the killer point that 'multiples can happen to anyone' - DH had just popped out of the room at the point (good job!).

mrsb87 · 12/03/2014 09:58

Hi kiki I was just wondering about how you were getting on! Wow exciting times eh? How have you been getting on at work etc? My midwife threw in the idea of twins, there are twins in my family. I do feel like ive bloated quickly considering I've been so sick.
I guess I'm lucky in some ways as I just haven't had the energy to be anxious, barely enough energy to get up to to to the sofanfor 4 weeks.

KikiThePea · 12/03/2014 09:35

Well hello all!

Mrsb, it's been a while - sorry to hear about the hospitalisation! I hope you're feeling much better very soon.

I'm at 12 weeks today (and it actually feels like a little bit of a milestone!) Definitely feeling less sick (just a few hours in the morning and late evening now, which is a huge change from 24 hours of feeling like death!), but still stupidly tired. Looking forward to a week in the alps in a few days' time. I can't wait to be able to eat again - I've actually lost weight at this stage, but hopefully won't get into too much trouble with the midwife as I've got another 4 weeks to make up for lost time - I'm sure a patisserie within walking distance will help the cause enormously...

Scan is on Friday morning and I'm now just excited about it. I've given up on anxiety - everything has gone well so far and if there is a problem, well I'll just have to jolly well deal with it when it happens, rather than spend so much time freaking out about 'what ifs'. DH is still stuck on 'what if it's twins?' after a throwaway comment made by my mum last week - his preemptive panicking is hilarious (not that I've told him this, and nor will I think it's hilarious if it did turn out to be twins) - so for him the scan is confirmation that he can relax a bit, I think.

misskgb · 12/03/2014 08:53

No not told anyone helen which is really hard. Thinking of telling a friend but only coz I cant drink on her upcoming hen do n wedding. Keep telling ppl im on antibiotics atm. I feel nauseous some days n not pg at all other days, its such a strange thing knowing ur pg but not feeling it!! Super excited for the midwife n the next milestone! ! :-)

I feel a bit better today, thanks ladies. Smile

I was just super tired yesterday. CD10 today. Started the OPKs yesterday. Temping as well so I feel a bit more in control but equally like the fun has been sucked out of it Grin

Ladymillion · 12/03/2014 07:57

And yep you're so right, loads of women don't know they're pregnant yet, not everyone tests from 8DPO like some of us on here hahaha Blush

binkybunny · 12/03/2014 07:55

Hi all just checking in. Hazel try and stay positive, easier said than done!

Lady I really wouldnt worry about eating pate I've tried to be good but theres is very little I want to eat now without throwing up or gagging I tend to eat what I can without taking stupid risks. I am already fed up of eating well cooked steaks though!

Helen hoping AF arrives then goes away quick so you can start again.

Hello Mrsb hoping you're not feeling too bad? My good days are more than my bad days now so hope the sickness is gradually going away!

Ladymillion · 12/03/2014 07:55

Ahh mrsH so glad your cycle is starting again! Being in limbo is so frustrating!

Do u mean at what point in the month did i use OPKs? I was testing eeeevery day (I bought around 50 IC's off of eBay for about a fiver)!

mrshjb · 12/03/2014 07:39

Is it supposed to pass after a certain point then mrsb?

Bet you can't wait for your first midwife misskgb, I think it will feel a lot more real by then! Have you told anyone yet? Thanks. AF is definitely on a slow arrival. Soooo pleased to be out of limbo land. Just hope she's not here for like 11 days like she was after the first 55 day cycle!!

Whoops lady. There is a lot of things you shouldn't ape at whilst pregnant isn't there. But my friend who I was on about on the last thread had late a few bottles of wine, soft cheese, raw steak and a raw quails egg the night before she got her BFP so I wouldn't worry too much! A lot of people don't even know their pregnant at your stage and carry on with life as normal don't they! When did you do your OPK sticks?! Did you use IC ones?!

Lolly84 · 11/03/2014 19:52

Hiya everyone x

Ladymillion · 11/03/2014 18:56

Hazel I found OPKs very helpful as I attempted SMEP at the start of the month but couldn't keep up with demand of DTD every other day! I thought it's be easy but a) I discovered my libido wasn't up to it LOL b) We were always knackered from work etc and c) my cycles were LONG so I became demoralised thinking I weren't even ovulating. But when I had that positive opk on CD33 I was over the moon and just DTD then for the next 3 days. I know they don't work that way for everyone but just sharing my own personal experience Wink

Ladymillion · 11/03/2014 18:50

Hey everyone, glad there's a new thread, I wanna keep up to date with everyone's progress! Smile

I am 5 weeks tomorrow, first midwife appointment on 21st March. I had a stomach bug on Sunday, was panicking it was listeria (I ate pâté Saturday night without realising pregnant women shouldn't eat it! How I missed THAT little gem of info I don't know!). After lots of reassurance from the out-of-hours surgery and my GP surgery yesterday I'm finally calming down and I'm feeling 100% better now. But honestly, the anxiety is RIFE these days isn't it girls? From the day you decide to TTC it's all like Shock haha xxx
