Hi everyone! Just popping in to see how you're all going. Hazel hope you're alright - you friends sound like ours! (In fact sound like me pre pregnancy Blush) All of our friends realised immediately that I was knocked up when we had them over for a barbeque & I had one glass of bubbly all night (instead of a bottle like I would normally). I must admit while I do miss having a few drinks I'm liking not feeling awful & hungover on a Saturday morning.

I had a work trip to Sydney last week and splashed out on some expensive J brand maternity jeans and a couple of little vest onesies for the baby (sounds so weird to say that!). I am pretty clueless about what babies wear but ours will be a December arrival which is sort of the equivalent of June in the UK so I imagine it will be quite hot. It's way too early to shop & I'm worried that I'm jinxing it but I really wanted to go shopping & I couldn't justify spending money on things I wasn't going to be able to wear in a couple of months! That said I bet I'll be in the maternity jeans sooner rather than later - I feel sooo fat, have already put on 1.5kg (about 3lbs) mainly in my boobs which have shot up from 10D to 12DD!! I'm only 5 + 3! Arrrghhh

Lolly84 · 01/04/2014 20:15

Maybe the best thing to do is stay away. Will stress you out. Only gonna by how I feel when I google an ailment. Xx

Ladymillion · 01/04/2014 20:08

Yep google is the DEVIL! But I can't keep away!

Lolly84 · 01/04/2014 19:57

Ah right, wow that is worth the money. I am trying to stay away from google. Keep going to google stuff and then think I better not. X

Ladymillion · 01/04/2014 19:42

Hey lolly, I was feeling quite anxious as had no major symptoms. Felt like a fraud haha! So I looked online and they offer 'reassurance scans' for £50 about 5 mins away from where I live so I thought why not?!

I was sooo nervous that something would be wrong, it's a strange feeling for me because I'm normally a laid back person. About everything! Evidently not pregnancy Confused

Lolly84 · 01/04/2014 18:54

Hey ladies,

hazel sorry you are feeling blue. I agree with energy one that your right to get it checked out.

Helen whoop to the. EWCM - great. Eggs apparently come out a couple of days after us what I have read.

lady do you mind if I ask why you got an early test? Was something making you panic? Great news about your healthy baby

Nothing new from me xx

Ladymillion · 01/04/2014 17:06

Hi everyone, just an update on the early scan I went for this morning, everything seems fine, strong heartbeat and measuring exactly 8 weeks as I'd calculated (I guess that's the good thing about TTC like a mad woman, you can actually pinpoint the date of conception haha).

The relief is amazing but I'm not completely relaxed yet (will I ever be?! Doubt it). It was so strange to see a little beating heart and to think that's inside me?! Mind-boggling xX

KikiThePea · 01/04/2014 11:03

Morning all,

The comments about various male doctors made me giggle. I saw a male GP when I went for my initial appointment after bfp. It was just a quick chat and form filling. To be honest I always thought I'd want to see a female doctor about any pregnancy-related things, but I think I actually want to see the same man again if possible - he's a GP but with ob/gyn specialist qualifications. Having read how difficult it is for some of you girls to get appointments, I'm very lucky to have the surgery I have - it's actually attached to the tiny local hospital which meant going for blood tests and my first scan was stupidly convenient. The next scan is at the city hospital where little baba is registered to be born (which seems ridiculously early!) so that's definitely going to be more of a faff! There doesn't seem to be any consistency across the country.

Hazel - if you're worried about any pains you're definitely right to go and get it checked out. Even if it does turn out to be something related to the ovary then don't worry yourself until you have all the facts. I've recently learned that two older friends of the family (both with three children each!) saw GPs when they first started ttc. One was told about polycystic ovaries and the other endometriosis - both obviously went into panic meltdown mode, but with the right treatment they went on to have very healthy pregnancies. The likelihood is that there's nothing wrong at all, and bodies are just weird, but as Helen said, it'll put your mind at ease just to know.

Binky - Nice to see you back, and also that you're discovering the delights of maternity trousers! Skiing was wonderful, thanks - I just took it easy for most of the week and had two whole days of just sitting in the sunshine. I only did one 'full' day of skiing and that was the last day, but I was very careful to avoid speeding down the piste, and avoided the black runs entirely. I was really nervous for the first few hours, but I was with a group of experienced skiers who made sure to stay near (I looked a bit like I had an entourage at times...), we avoided busy pistes and I took quite a few hot chocolate/Orangina breaks in the glorious weather. Little bean is really well protected at the moment, so once I'd made my peace with that fact it was easy to enjoy the week and get some much needed exercise in after weeks of sofa-ridden misery. Ha.

Helen - Glad reflexology part two went well. It sounds wonderful, actually!

Hazelbrowneyes · 01/04/2014 10:53

I got really strong OV pains in Dec and Jan but not Feb or March. I am quite concerned though so I think I will book a GP appointment.

I am so irritable today, I'm absolutely convinced it's PMT.

Yes, he probably will be open to cutting down at the weekend but our social group are heavy drinkers so it's always tough. It varies but generally 5 pints on a Friday, maybe a glass of wine after. Saturday can be anything up to 7 pints Angry followed by wine Angry. Sunday is usually half a bottle of wine. It's too much and he knows it. Friends often want to meet at 2 on a Saturday and it is just drinking constantly until 9. I'm fed up of it and so is he, actually. We've started to try to do different things at the weekend now. I know we'll probably end up spending Saturday with friend as her partner is away but I might suggest I go shopping with her or something and then meet DH for dinner. She likes her routine though, it's actually quite frightening just how set in her ways she is.

Excellent news that you had EWCM!! YAY!

mrshjb · 01/04/2014 10:39

Morning, it was really good thanks, nearly fell asleep a few times!

Oh no, it's so rubbish when you start thinking like that isn't it. Absolutely no idea what's causing that and if you're worried about it I think it's probably a good idea to go and get it checked out. It'll put your mind at ease if nothing comes of it anyways. Was it you who said that you got really strong OV pains too?

He's done really well to cut out the drinking during the week hasn't he so maybe he would be more open to cutting it down at weekend? How much drink are you talking about?

Only news from me is that I had some proper EWCM this morning. Felt really happy about this, but obviously it's not a definite sign that I'm actually OVing. Will dtd tonight though just in case!!!

Hazelbrowneyes · 01/04/2014 08:23

How was reflexology H?

I'm feeling a bit blue today. Convinced AF will arrive at the end of the week, on schedule. For the last few months, I've had excruciating pains in my right side, especially when I wee...usually around 4 or 5 days before AF is due. I got them in the early hours of the morning. I'm not sure that's right. It feels like something inside me is about to burst. If I'm not pregnant, I'm going to book a GP appointment for the end of the month. I'm so worried it's a cyst or a problem with the ovary.

Of course, this set off the panic that I'm never going to be able to have children.

Also, if not pregnant this month, I need to have a serious chat with DH about changing his lifestyle. I'm worried he won't be able to do it. He doesn't drink much during the week at all now, usually doesn't have any but at weekends it can be a horrifying amount of alcohol consumed. I'm not innocent here either, I totted up my units the other weekend and was shocked. Today starts a month off the booze for me though, regardless.

mrshjb · 31/03/2014 16:50

Thanks binky! Hopefully you'll start to feel better and more human from now on then!!

Hazel I wouldn't worry too much, like everyone has said loooooads of people seem to think AF is on her way and then get their bfp!

Lolly yeah I really really hope I am one of these who doesn't normally have any OV symptoms! You're absolutely right. I would love to just have a look about and see what's going on. Would take the stress off so much wouldn't it!

Second lot of reflexology tonight. Can't wait :)

Hazelbrowneyes · 31/03/2014 16:32

Lots of people have said that Lolly, just hope it's true for me too! Grin

Lolly84 · 31/03/2014 15:59

Ah thanks Binky bet the scan was a relief! did the weeks to in slow?

Helen I was lucky just dtd twice, must have been perfect egg timing all thanks to my opk. I didn't have any ov symptoms like you said. Only the tiniest EWCM. Usually solid get ov pains and they didn't come either. Don't you wish you could just look inside?

Hazel don't know if this is helpful or not but I felt like AF was coming the whole time, couldn't tell the difference apart from no blood. Kept going to toilet to check as was sure it was coming. I remember saying to my hubby oh here it comes oucccccch x

Hazelbrowneyes · 31/03/2014 14:45

Ah bummmmmm, the stretchy, stabby pains I had 4-5 days pre-AF last month have just appeared, 4-5 days before I'm due this month.

binkybunny · 31/03/2014 13:11

Ha ha no worries! Not been on for ages. Have moved onto a pregnancy thread but like it on here still as we were all in it from the start!

Good on you for keeping positive. As you have said you're young and healthy so I'm sure it will happen soon. Just enjoy DTD! Between sickness, tiredness and bleeding we have only tried twice since BFP but its just not happened for us. Hoping it will get better now I've hit the second tri Grin

Argh as soon as I saw your name binky I remember I'd forgotten you too! Of course you count, it makes our success rate thread look even better! My revised list is as follows:

BFP: Kiki, mrsb, binky, weebairn, Gennz, misskgb, Lolly, Lady
Awaiting BFP: Hazel, Helen

There have been some other people who have come and gone but not stayed long, so I can't remember all of their details. Apologies to anyone else!!!!

Glad to hear everything is going well for you binky!

Lolly haha yeah I'm trying to stay still as long as possible and also doing the cushion under the bum trick. You're so lucky to get pregnant after only dtd twice in a month!! Very jealous!!!

binkybunny · 31/03/2014 12:51

Hi all! Wow loafs been happening on here since last on. Congrats lolly and fx for hazel and helen.

kiki how did you find skiing? I'm dying to go but too nervous! Nicd to hear you are feeling better too and you weebairn

I'm 12+3 today had my scan last Thurs and all good.Starting to feel better although v sick this morning Sad Bought maternity trousers and leggings at the weekend. Wish I had done it weeks ago. They are amazing!

Oh and helen you missed me too of those with bfp's. Did you get mrsb too? Or do we not count as we only post here occassionally Wink

Will try and keep more up to date here!

Lolly84 · 31/03/2014 12:23

Haha hot doc. Well I have never got a specific doc, when I lived up north I had a specific doc. Will see how I get on with man Doc, I am sure there should be no surprise leg opening moments. Think they just through dates. Bit of a tick box app really. If he is hot he may see me again ahah. It's just the lack of empathy and tone as if 'not another one'. When I had my accident and called docs they were like "well since it's a road traffic accident there will be a charge" without any empathy just this is how much it will cost, gets on my wick!

Well me too on the big boob front Hazel I am scared how big my boobs will get judging by the size of my sisters they may get huge! Eek. That's the only feeling I have at mo sore boobs.

Helen glad you are still dtd! This month I waited 1/2 hour after dtd (mind you it was only twice) sometimes with legs in the air haha xx

mrshjb · 31/03/2014 12:21

Haha yeah I can imagine. I've never had a man to do anything like that. People always say you stop caring after having kids though!

Ah right, yeah I know what you mean. Feels like ages for me as well. Made even worse by the fact I don't think we had any chance on any of the months before!

Yeah I did one random one that month I thought I was ovulating and got a positive and then AF turned up on time. Decided to start using them every day this month and then sacked it off a while ago. If I have another long cycle and don't ovulate until a day in the 40s I can't face doing them for so long. Plus all the negatives were depressing me. Last time I got a positive mid morning and by night time it was gone as well so I keep thinking maybe I only get a short surge during the day so might be missing it as well! And that's if I am even ovulating at all!!

Hazelbrowneyes · 31/03/2014 12:13

Oh Helen he is totally "clothes on appointments only" Grin

Cycle 3 for me. 4 cycles off the pill but only trying for 3. I say "only" it's felt like a flippin' lifetime! Grin

Have you used OPKs at all?

mrshjb · 31/03/2014 11:55

I take the pregnacare as well and I'm the same, I drink soooo much water my wee is very light but I noticed when I was taking them in the morning that my wee was a weird colour! Take them at night now though and that seems to be better on my stomach!

Hahaha loving the hot doctor. Not sure I'd go to him with certain things though! Yeah my doctor is hard to get in to and their appointment system seems to make no sense at all!

Just checked my app and I'm on cd20 today (can't believe how fast that's flown) So if no AF by the weekend after next then I suppose that would be the first potential time to test from. I haven't had any ovulation symptoms this time though, not sure if that's a good thing or not though when I had loads last time and didn't actually ovulate! Ah the confusion!! Ooh exciting for Saturday then! Is this cycle 4 for you now Hazel?

Hazelbrowneyes · 31/03/2014 11:49

I prefer the male doc at my surgery (he is HOT) He's fab (as well as HOT) and he's been excellent with my general health care and gave me all the info I needed when I came off the pill. I'll probably book in with him when the time comes tbh. I don't think they do much at the booking in appointment anyway do they? Oh how exciting Lolly!

It's hard to get an appointment at my surgery too. I need an appointment for a different issue and prefer to book online. No appointments available with my doc for the whole of April unless it's an "on the day" appointment. Grr. When my time comes, I'll call the surgery and ask if I need a GP appointment or straight to midwife. The receptionists are actually really lovely at my surgery!

I have, ahem, large boobs so they're quite often a bit sore but not like this. They're not as sore today as they were last night though - I found it hard to sleep!

Helen, yes I'll wait until Saturday to test I think. What CD are you on now?

Lolly84 · 31/03/2014 11:30

Oh Hazel not long to go... How exciting. The sore boobs were my first indicator. Usually I get sore boobs from AF but this kinda happened all through the month. Mine have just got sorer and sorer like if DH is cuddling me and nearly touches them I yelp lol. I use pregnacare conception which has all folic needed but it turns your wee super yellow. It wasn't until someone said it on here I really noticed. I drink loads to be hydrated and wee is light normally (tmi) not now haha. Fx for you.

Helen sounds like a good plan. When is your 5th week?

Just called doc and the receptionist was friendly as usual...not. Is it just my practice or is it hard to get an app? So anyway it's booked for 9th of April. Got a male doc this time not sure if I should have got a female. X
