Broody I will be POAS on Saturday if you wanna be buddies? Tbh I'm not really expecting anything this month (not sure why but I just don't feel pregnant not that it made any difference the last 2 times when I could have sworn I was upduffed!).

I very naughtily (is that a word?) might have ordered some IC HPTs and OPKs from amazon...hopefully they will arrive soon and hopefully I won't need to use the OPKs but like I said, I don't think this is my month so I probably will end up being a POAS addict by the end of next month!

GeorgieWilson · 04/03/2014 15:28

Thanks for the hot chocolate Spotti. I'm enjoying it today before I give up chocolate, crisps and bread for lent.
Glad the appointment went ok Mama, fx you won't need that appointment though.
Wow 6 BFPs already, congrats ladies. Such a lucky bus!

PosyFossilsShoes · 04/03/2014 15:12

*blastocyst that should be

PosyFossilsShoes · 04/03/2014 15:11

I've just bought some books about exercise in preg! Like others here I've basically avoided the gym during every 2WW because I made the huge mistake of reading some awful american website which said that anything fun can affect implantation - including orgasm!! I suspect that they have an outlook that sex is only for procreation and wimmins shouldn't have fun during sex anyway though. And I've put on nearly a stone while TTC because of the dual joys of no exercise and comfort eating.

I'm going to try to get to the gym tomorrow but I have been stupidly paranoid about exercising while TTC and unsurprisingly I'm equally paranoid about dislodging Little Blasty* while the odds of unsticking are still so high.

*this is what DP has nicknamed our blastocyte Grin

Zermatt · 04/03/2014 15:10

So far I have changed;

A) by caffeine habit

B) my wine habit

C) my sweetner habit

D) my sex habits (quantity is king, quality is a poor cousin)

E) my vitamin intake

F) diet (more fruit, veg, nuts, seeds, weird Chinese herbs that smell like cat poo)

Gingerbreadlady1 · 04/03/2014 15:03

Hi all loving all the bfp's this month! Smile. Sadly I'm not gonna be one. AF got me sun so get another shot on march bus.

missmrsmummy · 04/03/2014 14:54

MrsB and other fitness peeps, here's an article about exercise and pregnancy:

www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2548151/How-Olympic-champion-Jessica-Ennis-train-safely-DURING-pregnancy-make-mother-comebacks-Rio-2016.html#comments

Is it wrong that I feel Envy reading this? She said her pregnancy was 'unexpected'. Mine is very much expected. Where is it? Lol.

PunkyPod · 04/03/2014 14:18

Hi mango looks like we're cycle twins. Lets hope for some mega good luck. I think i'll start the opks tomorrow although i know when i ov because the cm is so noticeable. I like piac and dunking a stick though so i suppose i'll just start to make myself feel good (the weirdo that i am!)

Bella - pancakes are fine. it's just raw eggs you need to be careful about. however with the strick rules/regulations in the UK the risk of salmonela is incredibly low. I steered clear in my first pregnancy but then at the end just had a runny egg. It was yummy!

What have i changed? I suppose that DH and I have both done a bit of a health kick this month. We got married in January so after the wedding kind of gorged ourselves on whatever we fancied. I am a size 10 but i just feel a bit squishy around the edges so am trying to be a bit more sensible in the interest of my health but also ttc purposes. I'm taking the folic acid every day and snacking on fruit/nuts. Other than that not a lot has changed. DH takes his vits (include zinc to make his swimmers fit).

Hope we hear of another bfp today :)

CagedMango · 04/03/2014 13:44

Hi Missmrs! We could all do with some luck after last month.

lindamagoo · 04/03/2014 13:34

Bella if I remember right I think it's just raw egg like in mayonnaise but I still had Mayo when I was pregnant Smile

EnglishGirlAbroad · 04/03/2014 13:29

The eggs cook with the pancakes Bella.... they'll be safe. I think the egg things is also only as a guide - in case you get salmonella. I'm sure if the eggs are fresh you'd be fine regardless.

bellaboo88 · 04/03/2014 12:35

Broodysnoop, I'll be your poas buddy!!

I'm 9dpo, how far are you? I'm super tempted to test Friday as its 8th & 13dpo (fave number & significant number if u get me!) Where as 9th is dads birthday...my parents both looked at my stomach earlier, I think they know were trying....it would be the best gift in the world to tell my mum on mothers day! Trying to hold out, only 1 test & not buying more!X

P.s. heard you're not allowed eggs once yr prey unless hard boiled?? So does that mean my preg friend can't have pancakes? X

lindamagoo · 04/03/2014 12:33

MrsB the things I've changed are my diet, I'm not hugely overweight but could do with losing a bit to aid conception, finding it a little hard as I have an underactive thyroid (developed in first pregnancy) but I'm getting there and I'm reluctant to buy new clothes also, spent a fortune on an outfit for next weekend and I'll probably/hopefully never wear it again x

3isourmagicnumber · 04/03/2014 12:29

Hi ladies
Broody I'm due my bfp 9th also and started poas this morning which was ridiculous as I'm only 9dpo and they were cheap tests so of course I got a bfn. The problem is I have started now so will prob do everyday till I get AF or hopefully a bfp haha.

I also have stupidly stopped the exercise this month and have put loads of weight on which isn't good. I normally run 15 miles a week over 4 sessions and have done nothing. Might wait and see what this months outcome is and if bfn start running straightaway and if bfp I don't know what to do anyway will wait and see what happens.

Good luck to anyone poas today. And good luck for gap and hospital appt today. Will be checking in later to see who they go xx

missmrsmummy · 04/03/2014 12:23

Welcome back mango! You're on the lucky bus Grin

CagedMango · 04/03/2014 12:17

Hi all.

I'm ready to hop on the bus after a short break from leaving the last one.

I'm ttc #1 and this is cycle 8. I'm currently cd9 so gearing up for the dtd marathon Grin Bfp/af due 24th.

I've also been booked in to have day 21 bloods, but the doc didn't even ask if I was regular or not (luckily I am-usually).

I'll keep my fingers crossed for BFPs for everyone this month!

gennibugs · 04/03/2014 12:12

Thanks English and Retro that makes sense so will try to count back 7 days from my next AF and see. im sure if the results arent right I can go again...

missmrsmummy · 04/03/2014 12:04

MrsB I have been worried about exercise too! I love Zumba but have avoided it on certain days of my cycle due to the vigorous booty shaking that's involved! Sure to make it impossible for a bean to stick?!

Day 2 back at work was a success Grin loved having my class back and they worked hard for me. Phew, I can do it!

Operation 'not trying too hard for a baby it trying quite hard for a December baby so my brother can meet it' is going well.

Ov was due yest according to my app (CD12) or tomorrow according to my 'normal' cycle but I think it may have happened on Sun (high cervix and ewcm). Started Dtd on Sun and going to do it every day this week.

Last cycle my cervix was high but then I ov'd quite a few days later (maybe due to stress) so need to make sure we cover all bases in case that happens again. I have ordered some ic opks to use towards the end of the week so we can stop DTD unless I get a positive one.

Annoyingly, I ordered preseed but it's not here yet and I think I have already ov'd! Sure it'll come in handy after a few days of DTD as I seem to produce less cm after a while!

At the mo, I'm worried that I may have hostile cm TMI ALERT but DH tells me it tastes a bit acidic. Eek. I hope I'm not killing the spermies! Apparently you can drink lemon juice to help?! Any other tips on that?

MrBsMrsB · 04/03/2014 11:51

Zermatt, English, genni Thanks for the advice.

I guess I can keep it up then. Like I said... I really am no sprinter/long distance runner.I'll keep up what I've always done, 2-3 miles thrice a week and indoor cycling.

genni your doctor should have a word with me, usually around cd1-cd7 would be ideal

Thanks for the link Zermatt - I think i can correctly say that the my pre-counting cycles and the 3 I'm on now have nothing to do with my lack of exercise. The article did suggest to do some lower impact training as you can do these into early pregnany, so I'll swap one or two runs for the eliptical... We'll see

I've found that ttc has changed alot of my habits 1. Exercise, 2. Buying clothes who knows I may not fit into them in a few months 3. Eating seafood who knows, I may be pg as we speak and don't want to ingest mercury 4. Alcohol consumption

What has ttc made you change about yourselves?

sazzlehopes · 04/03/2014 11:46

Mama - sorry the docs wasn't quite what you were afterl. Surely 5 months is worse case senario? If not that is a crazy wait. Can you ring them direct and see if that is true? Also defo chase up DH SA...that really shouldn't take longer than a week to come back. FX crossed you get your bfp soon though and you don't need any of this stuff! x
But i was laughing my head off at the idea that you suggest to DH that he gets a dragon tattooed on his penis. Hilarious to see how that conversation would go....

Star and Retro - i too was pretty lame on the cm front but i did take the venos (ryhmes with penis) cough mixture the month i got upduffed, and it definitely increased it. Not loads, but i did noticed more...so you never know! I took a spoonful morning and night up to ov when i remembered!

Toots so sorry af arrived. All very odd, but hope this next cycle is sorted and you get your bfp soon.

missmrs glad your first day back was ok. We were defo in the trying camp. There was plans, charts, systems, monitors, reflexology the lot!! And i managed to get a bfp...I think 'not trying' for some helps, but for me it didn't. Everyone is different x

Good luck Kurama

Spinning fx crossed it is too early for you.

RetroHippy · 04/03/2014 11:30

Ooh, Genni, a question I can answer!

Day 21 bloods are in fact, 7 days before AF tests. So if you usually have a 35 day cycle, they would be taken on CD 28.

So if you have an irregular cycle and no idea when AF is due then it's a pain in the ass. Another poster advised pushing for tests on regular dates each month, that way they can pick up on patterns.

I think it can be taken a couple of days each side though, so if your cycle is vaguely regular then you should be ok.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 04/03/2014 11:27

Genni, from what I've gathered I think it's supposed to be done 7days prior to AF. Bit hard if you're not regular though ..

gennibugs · 04/03/2014 11:23

MrBsMrsB I could have written your post about exercise myself - I was a real gym bunny and gave up when we started TTC in 2012. Ive also been comforting eating so am a little chubster. So am hitting the gym/pavements from today. I think as long as you dont overdo it - its fine. My GP didnt seem bothered when I spoke to them this morning about it - in fact he advised (really nicely) that getting the weight offIve put on can only help matters. He was very tactful though about it. Grin

The GP appointment went well, he was not my usual doctor but was really nice. He is sending me for my day 21 bloods and after that for an ultrasound.

Im a little confused about these day 21 bloods - is it literally day 21 of your cycle? What if your cycle is a few days here and there each month? Anyone have any words of wisdom on the best day to try and target?

Zermatt · 04/03/2014 11:05

Hey MrsB, I think my BFP is due on 19 March, thanks :)

In regards to exercise, I go to the gym about 3 times a week and run about 5k on the treadmill and I also do yoga. I was under the impression it's ok to carry on exercising while ttc and even ok to still run when you're pregnant (early on) as long as you are already an exerciser/runner so you're physically used to that kind of exercise, and don't go too crazy (jog rather than sprint). That Nell McAndrews ran marathons while pregnant (actually I may have just made that up - don't quote me on it) I think as long as you don't go nuts and over do the crunches, planking and chin ups, you should be fine as long as it's your usual physical routine. But I am not a medical doctor (only a doctor of the sexy)
