To keep this thread going, proving support to all of those of a 'riper vintage' wishing for a baby...

I have received so much help, advice and support here, so although I technically have graduated, I thought I'd get the next thread going to keep the momentum.

green wonderful, wonderful news Grin. I'm so pleased for you Flowers.
Jass I'll not say anything but I really am thinking of you and will be holding my breath for news about how things are progressing xxx
gum gosh the dd episode does sound stressful but, as others have said, reassuringly normal. I had a few sneaky 'lifts' from Boots at that age (toners and shaders sachets iirc Blush)
Lots of congrats for all the bfps; I really please for everyone xx
So busy here - job has gone up to full-time after much nagging on my behalf, and am also doing the exam marking/team leading which I am finding totally overwhelming. Am away with that for 3/4 days at a time for various meetings, and then have to try and catch up with the other job...Oh and of course the small matter of the 6 dcs...Having said that, I do thrive on being busy but possibly I've taken on a teeny bit more this time than I feel comfortable wth. It will (the marking) be over in 2 weeks though, so bite sized chunks and all that Grin.
Sports day and school fair today - lovely Hmm Wink

jassS · 10/07/2014 15:16

sorry for errors, ipadding from work meeting....

jassS · 10/07/2014 15:13

I hope all our fresh bfps are somewhere where they can sleep whenever they wish! i am terribly sleepy and that seems to be my only pg symptom. But it has never been much more. good part - absolutely no spotting, apart from 8-12dpo. i am on no supplements apart from agnus castus and folic acid. So,no prog suppositories to hold mc back. I did not start anything because i was already 14-15dpo when i discovered this pregnacy, and by this time I usually have already a natural progesterone level above 50. i have not checked but lack of spotting is indicating this is so. Not so good part - i am 3w6 and 17-18 dpo, but getting 1-2 on clearblue digital. I have vague memory of my last successful pg that it did only show up on 15dpo (i tested 11dpo then, was neg). then the test line was not equal to control neither on 17dpo but everything was OK. i was not obsessed then and did not test more, so i do not know when the nose up in hcg happened then. My test lines are progressing, normally a mc is announced by a weaker test line one day and then again line picks up and hcg goes to 1000 before i miscarry, but after that drop it is already a doomed pg. the latest i have seen the drop was 20dpo, so if i get until Mo without drop and reasonable rises i will start to be optimistic. Of course, there have been cašes when thes rop has happened already 12-13 dpo, and I may have missed it. Torture.

Grizzer · 10/07/2014 14:45

I can't believe I keep doing that!!
.... Something we will look in to when our own TTC time is up.
How are you feeling Jass?
Hello to all x

Grizzer · 10/07/2014 14:41

Congratulations Green, amazing news. Without wishing to sound like a reality TV 'star' what a journey it's been! Excuse my ignorance but do you just have a normal pregnancy now or is there special monitoring or treatments you still have to have?
I had a bfn this morning but not due AF til Sunday. Pretty sure she's on her way though. Out next month too as dh is doing a London to Paris charity cycle & will be gone at the crucial time. On a positive note he brought up adoption yesterday so that is s

jassS · 09/07/2014 17:50

green - congratulations!

I have always wanted 4, even when i was a child. But when i was pg with the 4th I suddenly wanted fifth. And had I had the 5th easily who knows where the new ceiling would have been:-)

Irishmammybread · 09/07/2014 17:49

Wow, congratulations Green, Grinch ,Just !
Jass I know what you mean about asking for no congrats just yet (with my last pregnancy I waited till I got 3weeks+ on a CB before contacting the EPU for an early scan, and waited till I had that and saw a heart beat before going to my GP and actually registering the pregnancy to get in the system!) but I'm crossing everything for you and wishing you well x
Fireflies hope you're next!
Got to go, DD3 starting to cry , catch up soon
Hi Gum , JBrd and everyone else

Justpickagoddamnname · 09/07/2014 17:22

Congratulations Green! That is brilliant! Hoorah!
1000 fireflies, I think you may have something about how the more kids you have the more you want. I find myself thinking things like, 'I should have started 10 years ago. I could've had six by now!'

10000Fireflies · 09/07/2014 16:46

I hope you're right Gum, but am not so sure. Too much crampy twinging going on. Sad

Oh, 'accidentally preggers at 45' thread is a total car crash. Have added to my watch list. Grin

10000Fireflies · 09/07/2014 09:44

Gum nice to hear some positives from you too. Smile You are very lucky with all that you have. Am I right though, that your desire to have more children increases the more you have? I find the pain of not having a second is much worse than not having any at all which doesn't really make sense, does it?

Thanks also for the info from the thread. Sounds like melatonin might not be for me. I will study it a bit more closely. Also interesting about DHEA and myo inositol.

Wow Green!

Gumblossom · 09/07/2014 00:41

Fireflies - love that thread! Had to LOL over the fridge photo! I may have to do a similar thing myself...

Gumblossom · 09/07/2014 00:36

Well Fireflies, that is living the dream in my mind! Actually, as I lie in bed this morning, snuggled up to DS, I feel I am living the dream. For all the shit that happens in my life I have so much good stuff going on too. I do love my job: feel really lucky to work with teenagers all day, because the majority of them are really lovely. And I find it stimulating and fun. I like most of my colleagues (there are a few fruitcakes, but the rest of us can have a laugh over what they do, which is always fun Shock).

I am truly blessed in terms of having a large family, who, for the most part are very healthy and happy. Things could be so much worse. None of us has a terrible chronic illness, my children are all very bright and have done well academically, sharing the bathroom is awful, but sharing a table is lovely. We have wonderful mealtime conversations with 7 people aged 5 to 53. And my DH and I are still very happy together.

So, lots to be happy about. I know DD's shoplifting is just a teenage blip, I'm already ok with it all. She had a tough day yesterday, going into the store to discuss it with the manager, and also having a chat with the police. I know getting caught has really scared her, and I would be really shocked if it happened again. She apologised to her dad and me for upsetting us, and has very gladly taken the punishment of being grounded over the school holidays.

Anyway...I am having a nice relaxed holiday despite the stuff going on. Yesterday I took DS to play with his cousin and had a nice afternoon with my sister. Today I'll go and have a swim before going out to lunch with some girlfriends.

FF, this is the bit on Fertility friend that I thought you might want to know: "melatonin is excellent for egg quality but suppresses LH, so she only recommends it for ivf cycles. " and "They have a general list, but they make some changes depending on the patient. CoQ10 and DHA and folic acid are definitely on there for everyone. They put me on melatonin as well, but as brainy said, that's probably only for people doing IVF. Myo Inositol is another one they recommend, probably those who have PCOS issues. DHEA is another one, but not a one size fits all supplement. It depends on your existing hormone levels." and "I have 2 sets of list and they differ in quantity of supplement to take, but not by much. This is titled "poor responder supplement for Women" (from CCRM).

Myo inositol; 750 mg 3 tablets 2x/ day
Co Enzyme Q10 200 mg 3x/ day
Omega 3 fatty acid (DHA) 1000mg 1x daily
Vit C 500 mg in AM
Vit E 400 IU once daily
L arginine 1000 mg 2x daily
pycnogenol 100 mg once daily
melatonin 3 mg at bedtime (do not take if on thyroid med)
Prenatal with folic acid
DHEA only on advice of physician"

That's pretty well the whole thread!

Jass, I'm not going to congratulate you, but I will give you a little squeeze and say that I really hope this is your keeper.

And did you girls see the thread: 45 and accidentally pregnant? I love hearing those stories (though I do understand her being a bit upset). I still feel like I am buying a lottery ticket every month: you have got to be in it to win it, and I feel glad that I'm still in it, until the fat lady (menopause) sings...Grin

10000Fireflies · 08/07/2014 23:07

Evening all

Enjoying a quiet evening, chilling in PJs. DH out with a mate and DS asleep. Lovely to have a bit of peace and quiet! If only the internet would work in bed. Hey ho. Still quite comfy here on sofa.

Thanks for the link, Gum. I must sign up to FF. Been meaning to for charting, but haven’t has yet. Can’t read the forum without signing up. What’s the gist of it?

Think there’s been some good advice on here already about your daughter. I totally understand why you’re so shocked though. There is a wonderful idea on here about WIFI that might help with your towels-on-floor etc prob: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/a2126556-Ive-just-sent-a-horribly-PA-text-to-my-children . Some other gems too. I’m disappointed the thread isn’t longer. Love the ‘this is a fridge’ facebook pics. I have saved this to look up when DS is a sulky teenager!

Hope you’ve managed to escape it all mentally though with some more gardening and snuggling in front of fire. Sounds wonderfully romantic. I can’t go into damn garden without being harassed by one neighbour or another.

Grizzer how did the decorating go? I started doing our hall in 2009 and from time to time it occurs to me that I ought to finish it!! Grin

JassS wow!! Took me a while to work out where you were going with your festival story. Another BFP on the thread? Fingers Xd.

Justpick Great you have a scan booked. But your story… There are so many cases of twattery in health care. Makes me weep. I can’t remember when the heartbeat can be detected from, but DH and I found having a listening monitor (Doppler? Mind gone totally blank) very helpful.

green let us know when you crack!! Fingers xd for you too!

Apart from painful nips, which I agree, Gum, could be a positive sign (because is not an infection as is affecting both), I also feel abysmal – I have a cold but I feel really crappy and dizzy. Much like I did around testing date for DS, so it’s quite positive also Grin. I keep expecting to be disappointed when I go to the loo though, and it’s only CD21 so no point testing yet. I’m going to make myself wait until the weekend as I think/hope this is a longer cycle as I ov’d later than normal.

Anyway, symptom spotting/clutching at straws asides, I find myself in a similar position to Gum WRT offspring. DS (age 2) has suddenly become rather light fingered. At the weekend he was trying to put some throat lozenges in his ‘shopping bag’. Had a bit of a laugh with the shop assistants about this, but was mortified when I got home to find them still in the bag. Then, he was out shopping with DH, and while he wasn’t looking loaded the pram basket up with three enormous blocks of cheese. DH was two streets away from supermarket before he got why DS kept pointing at pram basket and going on about cheese! I still can’t believe he went back!!

Anyway, sweet dreams to you all. Keep up the good work all you newly upduffed oldies, and sticky vibes to the rest of us. FF xx Am off to bed now for 4 Extra comedy and solitaire on ipad. Living the dream! Grin

greenlizard · 08/07/2014 19:22

Good luck jass! Is this one slightly different in terms of how strong the line is? I will keep everything crossed for you.

just sorry you have had a bad experience Sad. I think that £89 is a bargain if it can bring you some peace of mind. I know that Sunday must seem so far away now you have made the decision. Good luck!

grinch 7+2 already - that's great (as is feeling rubbish Grin)

gum 7 people and 1 bathroom Shock what on earth time to you have to get up to get everyone through the shower!!! You really do need this holiday.

I am just about holding up but have decided cannot possibly wait until next Monday to test. My thinking is that if the embryos were 5 days old when transferred 7 days ago - I am the equivalent of 13DPO Grin. Is my thinking flawed??

As I didn't have a trigger shot there is no risk of getting a false positive. I am getting lots of positive symptoms but that could be the progesterone? Really I don't know why I am asking - I have a clearblue digi test upstairs whispering to me......

Grizzer · 08/07/2014 19:08

Everything crossed here too Jass xx

Justpickagoddamnname · 08/07/2014 15:25

Well scans were much cheaper than I thought. I thought they would be in the mega hundreds. But have booked a scan on sunday 20th July for £89.
Had an early scan in last pregnancy after light bleeding. useless incompetent sonographer told us the preg. Had definitely failed. She had just got my dates wrong as she never read file properly so she thought I was 2 weeks more advanced than I was which was why she misdiagnosed me when she could not see a heartbeat. Thankfully in our area all women are given a second scan 1 week later which is where they discovered her mistake. But booking this scan has brought back memories of that awful first scan and that awful week. Going to be a loooong wait till 20th....

Justpickagoddamnname · 08/07/2014 14:52

Here is everything crossed for you JassS. Really hope it works out for you!

jassS · 08/07/2014 13:05

Justpick, if scan seems out of your reach, maybe a digi test to show you that you are moving up in the number of weeks would be doable to keep you sane?

me too is going through another bfp. this time it was a neg 10 dpo and then I went to a song festival in homeland. With 100 000 people singing/dancing from morning til night it did not enter my mind I was actually late until the party was over. Then went to buy some stuff to take back with me yesterday before flying back and in front of a pharmacy I remembered I was actually late, 15DPO. I had on and off spotting over weekend, but it dried up and nothing more. So, grabbed the most unsensitive cheap pee stick and POAS there and then, in supermarket toilets. Was staying w family and did not want to take the test there. Threw it into handbag, and exited the supermarket. A few minutes later decided to veryfy my bfn. And very cheekily there was a proper bfp, light but clear. was afternoon and i had drunk loads during the day, so probably right now I am still on track. Confirmed today that even an internet cheapie, in afternoon gives a positive. a real bfp, not a line you can see when you look at special angle or sth. Lighter though than control line. But I have been here so many times that I know it means nothing. Am concentrating on the good feelings from song festival and football, head in sand firmly. No congratulations please before the heartbeat:-)) hope is rising its ugly head here.......
