Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

Stars - sorry to read you're struggling and I am going to reply tonight when DD safely in bed and no distractions.

OP posts:
resipsa · 26/02/2014 16:49

Brooker - how was ET? Your relief at the successful thaw was palpable! That'll be me soon. Eek.

And B4by?

And Beetle?

resipsa · 26/02/2014 16:47

And the boss' reaction - Shock - just goes to show that many familiar people have hidden depths. Glad it's sorted itself out for you.

Gawd, Mary P, I am such a loser! When I read back, it's obvious you were talking about your IVF 'excuse' as who the hell would start a cycle with a cyst in situ. Anyway, that'll teach me to try to catch up after a couple of days of too much work. Next time, I'll graciously accept that I'm defeated!

Turquoisetamborine · 26/02/2014 15:34

Baby how did the ET go?

Everyone else's treatments seems to be going much faster than mine!

moggle · 26/02/2014 14:18

Good luck B4by!
Scan was fine- only mild OHSS and no fluid in the abdomen. Phew. I realised that some of my symptoms are due to me coming down with a stinky cold/tonsils thing which explains a lot. They did advise me to take the rest of the week off work though to make sure the transfer on Saturday isn't jeopardised, which I think I will do, though might work at home on Friday if I feel up to it.

B4byPlease · 26/02/2014 12:52

ET today, at 2:30. Good luck to all you other ladies with appointments today:)

moggle · 26/02/2014 12:29

MaryP that's amazing, so glad your manager was understanding, even more understanding than she realised! Mine has been too, as he and his wife went through ivf, but it was about 15 yrs ago so I think he has forgotten most of it!

WannabeMaryPoppins · 26/02/2014 12:17

brooker good luck for today. Thinking of you and your lovely embie
stars lots of [tea] and Cake for you. I can recommend counselling.

Just to put the record straight and to stop people worrying unncessarily, I don't have a cyst, I was just looking for a realistic excuse as to why I am going to be off work for two weeks. Have just spoken to my boss who then said "which hospital are you going to? I had loads of cysts when I was younger which was why I couldn't have children. If you don't get them sorted out it can mean that you may not be able to conceive naturally. So make sure you really recover before coming back". I had to literally bite my lip to stop myself from laughing indisbelief. That'll teach me for lying.

First litte f*cker went fine this morning. Took me ages but thanks to John Newman and "can you love me again" there was no bruising. One down, a whole lot more to go.....

vallinnapod · 26/02/2014 11:28

Good luck Brooker and Beetle!

Moggle - I was borderline OHSS too and felt increasingly worse over the few days after EC, and then marginally better. One issue with both sedation and bumbullets is they slow your bowels down causing gas and constipation which only compounds the pain. I tried to get out and walk for 20 mins or so, lots of mint tea, prunes etc to help things. Just prepare yourself, I looked 6 months PG two days after EC!

moggle · 26/02/2014 09:17

brooker - great news! Good luck for the transfer.
stars - sorry you are feeling down. There are no rules about how we are supposed to feel about any of this. Can only echo the suggestion of counselling through your clinic, not that I've tried ours yet.

So all our embryos survived the night and are at 2-4 cells. Transfer on Saturday assuming everything goes smoothly. I'm feeling a little worse today, had a very uncomfortable night, so am not going into work. tried to get an earlier scan but the clinic are all booked up. Just lying in bed feeling sorry for myself. Poor DH has had to cancel a job interview as I don't think i could manage to drive myself there. Just want to know if it's just normal post EC pain or not.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 26/02/2014 08:55

Good luck Brooker! Yay for the frostie!

Is it EC for you today Beetle? If so good luck Smile

Stars sorry to hear your still feeling low. It might be worth trying the counsellors if you haven't already. I feel pretty depressed too to be honest. I just keep trying to focus on the day ahead and not think about any further ahead.

Mogs that's fantastic news on your 17 embies!

BrookerC · 26/02/2014 08:43

Morning stars. I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling. Have you had any counselling? Do your clinic offer any sessions? I haven't used mine but a lot of people have found they help. Just had the call - it survived the thaw! In at 11 for transfer. To say I'm relieved is an understatement.

starsandmoonandback · 26/02/2014 08:04

Brooker, is it transfer day??? If so, hope your lucky one thaws nicely and is back snuggled inside you as soon as possible Smile
Thanks for asking after me. I'm not good in general really. Struggling with depression Hmm xxx

BrookerC · 25/02/2014 21:47

Evening all!

moggle 17 embies certainly does take the pressure off! That's great news. Hope you're not feeling too sore. I got 14 eggs from my one ovary from my last cycle and was borderline OHSS. Rest & lots of fluids sorted it out and the bloating went after a few days.
maryp when I had my laparoscopy (which included removing a cyst) the NHS guidelines suggested taking up to 2 weeks off work. I didn't need that long as it happens but work don't know that do they? As soon as I told my boss it was for lady stuff he bolted so your cow-faced boss might be the same. Stabbing tomorrow - woo hoo!
resp what an anti-climax. Why is it harder to get pissed when that is the intention? Confused
bad sorry you're feeling rubbish but good to have lots of symptoms
turq a well timed AF? Now that's a first! Hopefully your lining will now be ok for you to start stimming next week. Fingers crossed.
beetle thinking of you for tomorrow. I am expecting a crop of lovely eggs for you Smile
stars how are you doing lovely?
Ooh, best of British for Friday bugs. How's the menkulling going?
Hi to euro bunny nobeer wish val cups b4by

Afm, feeling rather apprehensive about tomorrow. It's the waiting that's driving me potty. I just need to know - one way or another. I'm certain that I missed a call from the embryology lab tonight too. Just as I answered they hung up. They don't give out their number so I couldn't call back. Aahhhhhh! I keep telling myself that they would ring back if it was important they would wouldn't they, yes, of course they fucking would

Great news Turquoise!

Bugs - how are you? When is your scan?

Turquoisetamborine · 25/02/2014 20:58

Bloody period just started! At least I'll be ok for scan on Tuesday now so hopefully stimming next week!

Moggle - I got 16 eggs and was v bloated and uncomfortable after EC for about a week but didn't get OHSS. Step away from Google! I know I didn't and was worrying myself unnecessarily! You might find work a distraction from all things IVF. I definitely do. Otherwise I sit around worrying about everything and convincing myself of the worst.

Badhairday76 · 25/02/2014 17:49

Hey Turquoise - the same thing happened to me and they put me on double doses for a week of Buserelin. It was completely fine after a week though and the cycle went ahead as planned. I was really fed up at the time, but try not to worry - you'll get there.

MaryP - glad things are happening for you now. Am confused though - have you got a cyst? If so, really sorry and hope it clears up. If it's your 'IVF excuse' for time off, then it sounds like a good one. Fibroid removal is also a good excuse.

Hello to everybody else. I feel ghastly today. Sick, incredibly tired and headachey. I'm back at work after half term tomorrow and dreading it.....

moggle · 25/02/2014 17:40

turq - hope AF comes soon. It's a nice change to be wishing it to come isn't it... AMH sounds good too!
MaryP - what's your work's sick policy? If you have to submit a doctor's note I guess you'll want to make sure it matches up with what you told them so maybe something gynaecological would be best? I had a great time with my line manager on Friday sorting out my sick note for yesterday and today, we were in an open office full of people who I didn't want to know about our IVF, so had to just sit there typing suggestions to each other... in the end I just went for 'Hospital procedure' cos it gets sent to our nosy departmental Administrator, but I think I will email HR to give them more detail once I'm back.

moggle · 25/02/2014 17:37

Gotta admit having so many makes me feel like the pressure is off a little for this cycle as hopefully we'll get some to freeze as well. When we got the fertilisation numbers DH said "We'll never have to have sex again!" with rather too much glee in his voice (but to be fair, having this month off sex has been a nice relief in a way!). But of course it's still one day at a time.
I have been scaring myself reading about OHSS. I still have no signs apart from my tummy feeling a bit bloated and uncomfy but despite feeling fat I've not actually put any weight on since triggering on Saturday. I'm drinking lots of water and it certainly seems like I am peeing it all out... So hopefully it's just discomfort from my ovaries taking a bit of a beating yesterday during EC.
I've got a scan tomorrow at 1:15 to check for fluid buildup and am just wondering whether to take the morning off work (work is between home and the clinic) and just go in for the afternoon once I know if I have any signs. On the other hand my work is not exactly tough stuff and at least I'll be away from Google for a bit!!

Turquoisetamborine · 25/02/2014 17:00

Hello girls, I'm waiting in pharmacy now for more Buserelin. My womb lining was 7mm and it has to be 5mm. I haven't had a period since I started (last one end of Jan) so he said I have to ring if that comes on as that may help.

So basically I'm back on tues if I get a period soon or 10th march if not. Bit disappointed but nothing I can do. Best to get the lining right. My AMH results came back as 20 so think that's ok too.

Wow Moggle that's a good haul!! Bet you get a baby or two out of those!!

MaryP I just muttered about a gynae issue to my boss when I had my lap and dye. She didn't want to know more than that. When are you getting it done?
