Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

I've just read that uterine polyps can cause brown blood. Maybe the scratch got rid of them?

wishwash · 10/02/2014 23:10

Oh bad and bugs that's so exciting! I'm so envious but so happy for you!

Just a quick question which you may not be able to answer but her goes...

tmi alert For as long as I can remember I've had brown blood for around 3/4 days before my period, two days of red blood, and then another 3/4 days of brown blood. I always knew that my period was on its way when I was getting the brown.
This month I had a tiny amount of brown blood then 3 days of full bleeding which has now stopped with no brown blood. The only thing I've done differently is have the scratch. I've always thought the brown blood the reason why ivf hasn't worked because it's odd that I have it every month.

Has anyone had any experience of this? Could it mean I'm flushed out of all the old blood? Is it good or bad news? Sorry for the random question x

Badhairday76 · 10/02/2014 20:07

Thanks guys! I must admit, I am excited and trying to be optimistic about this working out. My sis was really pleased for me, as were 3 of my best pals, although my mum's reaction was pretty underwhelming. Grrrrrrr. I wish my Dad was alive so could tell him instead.

Am now so tired, am off to sleep. Night all xxx

Nothing like seeing the words there though instead of trying to interpret a line.

Great news bad!!! Don't feel bad you deserve this hun. Smile

Bugs, how funny, didn't you just say you weren't testing again til Wednesdays blood tests Wink hee hee! Fab news hun. Clear blue defo half as sensitive than first response. You must have a good amount of hcg in your system hun Smile

Turquoisetamborine · 10/02/2014 19:21

So happy for you Bugs!!!!! Wow, we told you it sounded good!

Bunny, glad the scan went well. It's amazing. I'll never forget it. Hope I can experience it again.

Bad, so pleased for you too.

I'm continuing with my IVF obsessive googling and am going to add baby aspirin and acupuncture for H as well as me (he has low count) to my campaign. Just been told my H's gran that she's giving us £3k as well so if we need another cycle we can have it.

Still haven't said congrats to my SIL. I know what you mean Res but it's early days and I just can't make myself happy for them when she herself isn't happy about it.

Badhairday76 · 10/02/2014 18:48

Congrats Bugs!

And congrats to you too Bunny - so pleased you saw the heartbeat!

Sorry to hear people are feeling so low today. I feel bad reporting good news when some if you are feeling down but my blood test was fine today - 5439 - and I have a scan in 22 days time. Am v relieved, but will still stress out until then! X

Bunnygirlie · 10/02/2014 18:36

Bunnie, very happy for you. And you definitely should be sharing your news with us, but thank you for being sensitive to us bluesy ones!

One I know that! I have a sibling who I have no contact with anymore. I think that's why it's eve more important to me. Do you have no parents the either? I have my dh and DS and they mean the works to me, but I have no one to share them with and that feels sad and I feel lonely. I have lots of amazing friends who are like family, but ultimately they go off to all their families at Christmas etc and I am envious of that I guess. I know these are my feelings and would t necessarily be my DS's feelings, but I worry about it. I wanted 4 kids when I was younger. Oh the irony! Shock

Onelittlebugbear · 10/02/2014 18:04

Congratulations bunny x x

Bug I still think you may be in with a very good chance. Waiting until Wednesday is a killer though x x only one more day!

I did the online Ivf predictor test. It's meant to be very accurate. It gave me 40% for the first cycle but now we have had a failed cycle has dropped to 28%! Who knew one failed cycle affected subsequent chances?! I thought it was pretty much the same chance each cycle until four cycles and then it tails off gradually.
Going to talk to the nurses on Friday about what we would do differently for any future cycles. I suspect starting me on a higher dose of menopur since I was on the lowest possible dose, they went in carefully because of the diabetes. I will not do long protocol though, even though dh thinks we should. I think that is my line. If they say it's a waste of money to try short again then I guess we just won't try again. I got 9 eggs on short but I don't know if different protocols give different egg quality results? Dh thinks we should be aiming for about 20 eggs next time Hmm

Bunnygirlie · 10/02/2014 17:42

Feels wrong popping in with my news when some buddies are low.

Scan was good thanks, saw one tiny flashing blob on the screen, quite amazing that you can see anything at this stage.

Sending hugs and Flowers and Cake to all.

Stars by the time that happens your ds will probably have a family of his own!
Even with a sibling there are no guarantees. I know plenty of siblings who don't even live in the same country. My friend fell out badly with her sister after her parents had both died over the money. And I don't believe that is uncommon.
I have a ridiculously small family - no cousins, only one aunt who never married and my mom and dad. I don't feel lonely though and actually I really like being an only one.

starsandmoonandback · 10/02/2014 16:57

Sorry to be mean bugs, but hope you don't make it to the pub after all Wink
Good idea to keep busy if you can!

One, be careful taking the drugs the doc have you before you definitely know your final result - just in case.

Bunny, hope your scan went ok?

Hi to everyone else. Smile

I'm still feeling really down. I don't want to accept I can't have another child. It means so much to me to give my DS a sibling. I hate to think of him having no family when me and dh pop our clogs. It's lonely, I should know, I don't have any other family and I feel incredibly lonely a lot of the time, especially on occasions like Christmas, Easter and birthdays. Anyway, I'm still wallowing in self pity as you can see, but I just don't know how to move on. Hmm

Bugs try not to put too much weight on line colour. I don't think it's a reliable way of telling how much hcg there is. It can vary according to test x x x keeping my fingers crossed for you x

I have been back to dr and got some more steroids and different antihistamines for my hideous stress induced hives. I told her about my pulse being very high before egg collection and told her about how I was still suffering with hives (and cried a bit, embarrassing) and she said I should think very carefully about whether to try again as likely the same thing will happen.
I also told her about my gut feeling of 'it'll never happen' which I think is the worst bit as I'm putting myself through all this and I already feel like it's a foregone conclusion. They might quote me success rates of 35-40% but as far as I'm concerned there is 0% chance of it being successful and it's really dh who is pushing to do it. Dr said that sometimes shouldn't ignore these gut feelings as they are often right.

I've come home and related this to dh and he is unimpressed. He thinks we should try again ASAP. Preferably next month. He's upset we will have to wait a while!
