Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

I got a bfn yesterday on a first response - they are 98% accurate 3 days before you're period. They must detect hcg at very low levels. I was 8dp3dt yesterday.

Plus just a general feeling that I've had from the start that ivf won't ever work for us. I've stopped my drugs now anyway!

Glad it worked out for you x x

Congrats bugs!

Turquoise it's probably just the drugs causing weird and strange effects - have a word with the clinic maybe?

Between my hard boiled eggs and dh's misshaped sperm my ds is a total miracle, a miracle with a bad attitude but a miracle nonetheless.

I told my best friend on Monday about the ivf and ivf failure and she has had a strop because I didn't tell her before! I haven't heard from get since! Next time I won't bother telling anyone anything.

Turquoisetamborine · 12/02/2014 15:56

Congrats Bugs!!!!

Turquoisetamborine · 12/02/2014 15:56

Oh my God, I'm on day 10 of buserelin for down regging and I'm sure I've ovulated. Surely this isn't supposed to happen when I'm down regging. Today is CD18 and I'd normally ov today, I've had EWCM and ov pain. Is this usual?

Maybe I should do an ov test.

starsandmoonandback · 12/02/2014 15:46

Wannabe LOL!!!!

WannabeMaryPoppins · 12/02/2014 15:36

For some reason I find the idea of Kate Silverton shoving bullets up her arse highly amusing

starsandmoonandback · 12/02/2014 15:29

Bad! No offence taken. I like hearing positive stories from people who have struggled too. (But am feeling very raw after my last cycle) it's great she's got lucky again, but I am jealous that it's not me!!

Res, me too. I wonder how my DS even happened. He really IS a miracle.

Euro, it's a hideous roller coaster to be on and whilst dh and I are solid, we always end up hating each other at some point in a cycle and it takes some getting back to normal between each one. Let's hope you are one of the lucky ones following DC1 and have a natural miracle too. I do know a fair few people from another forum who even had donor eggs for their first and had a natural second one!! It does happen. Just not to me!

resipsa · 12/02/2014 15:18

Bad - none taken - I had (my only) one over 40 - the longer this TTC business goes on with no success, the more of a 'miracle' she is!!!

I think I just over-analyse these days when I hear about such things. 5 years ago, I would have thought 'oh, that's nice' and moved on to the next story but it's now the potential for false hope that annoys me. It reads that she and DH were together for 2 years before getting married in late 2010 and producing DC1 in late 2011. Now she's due DC2 in mid-2014. Their marriage must be a rock - 4 failed IVF cycles and 2 pregnancies in 5.5 years would have ruined me and DH!

That's brilliant news bugs and a nice high number.

I love stories of natural pregnancies after IVF, because if this one works out, I cannot see myself ever getting back on the hell that is the IVF treadmill, so it is the only way we would end up with more than one. There was a thread elsewhere on the site the other day entitled Almost immaculate conception, where a woman had tried for 6 years and had several rounds of IVF to have her first baby and had just found herself pregnant after a single sh@g! I completely agree that the "they just relaxed" stuff is hideously annoying though.

starsandmoonandback · 12/02/2014 14:55

Thanks brooker. How are you hun?

Bad, it's not silverton that's annoying (I'm 41, 42 this year) but it's the way the article is written. It says 'we'd almost given up giving our daughter a sibling when our daughter was 2, when we got pregnant!' Given up after 2 years??! Ive been trying for a sibling for 3 years! I wouldn't be giving up at all if I had more money!!! Maybe I'm just bitter Hmm

Badhairday76 · 12/02/2014 14:54

Res and Stars - my apologies. Didn't read the earlier posts you guys had written about Kate Silverton. I just read in the news that it was all natural and I quite like hearing stories like that cos they are so few and far between. No
offence meant - can understand how you feel. X

Badhairday76 · 12/02/2014 13:57

Good on them! Hopefully I will be one of those women in a couple of years. I'm a believer in 'miracle pregnancies' after conceiving my DS through a missed pill. I feel like I have a little miracle inside me right now. I just hope it sticks!!

nobeer · 12/02/2014 13:57

Excellent news bugs!! Delighted for you and your DH.

Badhairday76 · 12/02/2014 13:55

Personally I always love seeing women having babies over 40. G

resipsa · 12/02/2014 13:22

Stars - re Silverton - married in 2010, DD born 2011 - looks as if got married to start a family to me - no way they could have fitted in 4 cycles!

Badhairday76 · 12/02/2014 13:21

Woo hoo Bugs! So pleased it was good news. I would definitely recommend getting back to work. It will take your mind off it! I know that if I was at home now full time I would stress myself out completely about everything. Do you have another blood test? Or a scan? X

Sorry to read many of you are feeling low and/or pissed off. It's all such an awful roller coaster. I'm praying for one of those 'miracle' Silverton pregnancies....

starsandmoonandback · 12/02/2014 12:59

Wannabe, those tests are confusing! But they are conception indicators. Do it means 1-2 weeks from conception.

BrookerC · 12/02/2014 12:56

De-lurking to send a big whoop, whoop! to bugs

WannabeMaryPoppins · 12/02/2014 12:56

Not sure how you can be 1-2 Weeks pregnant as it would mean you had taken the test on the day you ovulated. Or have I missed something?

cwtching · 12/02/2014 12:50

Hooray Buggs!!! Such brilliant news! Sending a congratulatory hug!

WannabeMaryPoppins · 12/02/2014 12:47

I'm all over the place today. Had a night sweat last night which is never a good sign for me as I normally get them just before af its about to rock up. Bit surprised that it has started so early. Am hoping that it is just the proluton jab but who knows. And on top of all that DS its sick with a tummy bug & ear infection. DH has been brilliant looking after him but has to go away with work so i'm going to have to do all the lugging about for a bit. Am going to try & hold out until Monday before poas.

resipsa · 12/02/2014 12:47

By the way, that was not an invitation to waste money, more just a hint that if yours read 1-2 a few days ago, things are indeed going the right way!
