Hi all. As promised, a sparkling new thread that is going to see a lot of action in the next few weeks, I hope!

Wish good luck with those results today. Keeping everything crossed that your cycle can go ahead without any further delays
nobeer nice hearing from you. Really hope that those three weeks whizz past

Hi and waves to everyone else.

Thanks for all your support. It really does help. Had a wobble yesterday at work and realised that I can't always be that strong. I think I'll feel better though when AF turns up and I can start stabbing - at least I'll feel like I am doing something. Just a bit worried that the proluton is going to delay things which is going to really piss me off. I have also seen on a couple of other threads that vit B complex is meant to help progesterone levels. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Turquoisetamborine · 18/02/2014 09:30

wishwash tiredness is one side effect I'm getting. I'm sleeping 10 hours at night plus a nap. I'm quite enjoying that one though. I love sleep!

Badhairday76 · 18/02/2014 09:28

Ha ha - thanks Brooker. When I was pregnant with my DS I put on 3.5 stone and kept getting told off by everybody. I'm normally just over 8 stone, so that weight gain is fairly significant. I always vowed that I wouldn't eat as much if it happened again, but once again, I feel starving hungry. I also feel slightly sick, but eating salty food like peanuts and cheese makes me feel better! X

wishwash · 18/02/2014 08:44

Thanks beetle and turq. I get my blood results back today and I'll all good I'll start my Progynova tomorrow. If not more time on the Buserelin or a cancelled cycle!

turq I'm feeling bloody rough on the buserelin (again). I'm constantly tired, feeling very low, excited one minute, depressed the next. When I get wound up I literally explode as if someone has destroyed my life! I need to get off the evil devils juice. I'm so envious of anyone that doesn't get side effects! So so envious x

moggle That's some great follie action you have there Smile What did the clinic say about your dosage?
bad Enjoy your lie in tomorrow. I chuckled at your voracious appetite today! Go girl!
beetle! It's great to have you back. There's no stopping me these days. I even bought new tins & cupcake cases at the weekend. Now I just need my own kids so they can eat some of my goodies & stop me turning into a lard arse. I'm currently feeding my elderly neighbours & half of the office Grin
turq I felt awful on the buserelin. I'm sure I had every side effect listed. I was even convinced that I was losing my hair - big clumps were falling out when I washed it. As long as it shuts down your body, you're very lucky if you don't get any of the dreadful side effects

wish that's good news. Small steps will get your there. When are you back at the clinic?
How was the weekend away nobeer?
cwtch let me know how you get on with the cake.

Night, night you lot. x

Shellster52 · 17/02/2014 22:54

Thanks for the welcome.

Beetle, thanks for the info. My period actually arrived today after a 14 day cycle and I spoke to my IVF nurse who advised I wait to see if my next cycle is normal before starting. So being delayed now anyway. So you got pregnant from an SET (second embryo transfer??) from your second IVF. Are you now trying for baby number two with your frozen embryo's? Sorry, a bit behind the news being new to this thread.

Has anyone taken Aspirin in the lead up to IVF? I took it before last IVF to get more follicles and it really helped so taking it in the lead up to next IVF. But also read it can inhibit ovulation and now after two dodgy cycles delaying next IVF, I am wondering if Aspirin is to blame.

Do I continue to take Aspirin to get more follicles (usually a very poor responder) and risk another dud cycle, or do I stop it to get a normal cycle but risk hardly getting any eggs next cycle during IVF? Arghh.

nobeer · 17/02/2014 21:48

MaryP So sorry my love. But as always, your positivity and forward thinking never ceases to impress me. Next time I'm being all grumpy and down, I hope I think of you and give myself a kick up the backside. Glad your DS is back to his usual self too.

Brooker! You're back Smile Immunologist in just under 3 weeks. I will conitinue to be patient Hmm

Fabby mums, eh?! I think my only wise words are one which a friend gave me after my DF died, you're mourning different people, she's lost her partner, you've lost your dad. And mums are definitely sent to try our patience to the hilt Anyway, nice to see you again Smile

Cwtch well done Smile

Welcome Shell and hello everyone else.

Turquoisetamborine · 17/02/2014 19:11

wishwash glad things are looking up for you, go away cysts!! I know all too well about the protection thing!

wishwash · 17/02/2014 18:40

brooker so good to have you back. Thanks so much for thinking of me today!

cwtch how exciting Smile congrats

marypops I'm so sorry it didn't happen this time. It's so good that you're so strong

I had my second 'cyst watch' scan today and they have gone down slightly. She has taken my bloods to check my oestrogen levels have gone down too but she is more optimistic. I feel a bit numb at the moment. I'm just expecting the worst to protect myself I guess

moggle · 17/02/2014 17:52

turq I had zero side effects on buserelin but it did the job as it was supposed to.
I do agree that I have no idea if the protein is really helping beetle. Even my clinic admitted it's not backed up by that much evidence currently. I also do use the argument "in the third world / war zones people get pregnant despite X, Y and Z..." A LOT (especially regarding the effect of stress!) but I do figure they (and their partners) must be normally fertile and most of us aren't. Boo.
Fact of the day, did you know that countries where growth hormones are allowed to be fed to cows, they have higher rated of twin births. So what you eat can def affect fertility. But probably not for just one cycle!

cwtching · 17/02/2014 17:27

moggle 15 follies is amazing! Excellent work.

Brooker thanks so much for the recipe that looks scrumptious. I'm off to the shops first thing to buy some ingredients! I'd love a slice right now with a big mug of steaming (decaffeinated) tea. Yum.

Congrats Bad on your anniversary! Have a lovely 'lie-in' and enjoy your dinner! Smile

Turq - that's great that you are feeling well on the Buserelin. I felt so awful I don't think I could ever take it again and it was by far the worst bit of IVF for me. Hopefully the next bit will be a breeze for you as well xxx

Turquoisetamborine · 17/02/2014 15:01

Thanks Beetlebeetle, I'm not a big protein lover so that's good to know. I will attempt to eat 65g of protein during stimming through which should start next Tuesday if all goes according to plan.

Buserelin doesn't seem to be having any affect on me which is worrying. I had a crazy episode over my sister in laws unwanted pregnancy last Sunday but other than that I'm ok.

So sorry Marypops. Am gutted for you. It's good that you have a plan for your next cycle though. Hopefully this will be the one which brings your baby.

Thanks for the hugs Cwtching! It's actually DP's and my 3 year anniversary since meeting tomorrow so we are going out for dinner. It's also my turn to 'lie in' tomorrow until 7.15am(!) so am looking forward to that.

Moggle - those follies sound great! I had 9 ready on the Friday (8 on 1 side and only 1 on the other) but they collected 16 eggs on the Monday so it's looking like you will get a good crop! Exciting times ahead!

I am just back from visiting my heavily pregnant friend who is having her baby girl by planned C section on Weds. We had a great natter and catch up and I felt bad I'd avoided her for so long. It made me feel a bit more confident that tiny beans can turn into magnificent giant bumps, actually. I was so hungry by the time I left her house that I bought a takeaway pizza on the way home and ate all but one slice. Oink, oink! And I ate a doughnut at her place as well. No wonder I can't fit into my jeans!

moggle · 17/02/2014 13:03

I am trying to have more protein generally in my diet as well while stimming, chicken and tuna, quinoa instead of rice, blah blah. But having the milkshake as well I just don't worry about whether I had enough protein that day. Also my clinic are a bit obsessed with milk and like you to have a litre of milk each day (or equivalent in other dairy products etc) so this helps towards that too.

BrookerC · 17/02/2014 13:03

maryp I'm so sorry to hear your news Sad Hope you can have some fun with your DS to keep you going until your next cycle. xx
cwtch yummy recipe here - and it's healthy due to no fat. Mmmm guilt free Cake

Afternoon everyone!

moggle · 17/02/2014 12:54

turquoise- what I've been doing is adding 40g of unflavoured whey powder to a bottle of frijj (I do it with a stick blender), then drinking half of it and pouring the rest back in the bottle for the next day. The stuff I am adding makes it an extra 18g of protein per half, plus what's in the frijj already. It makes it sooo thick, it is truly yum. I've been trying the posh flavours like white chocolate and raspberry. Presume it'd work with flavoured powder too, guess it's just more calories if it's flavoured with sugar.

Turquoisetamborine · 17/02/2014 12:38

MP so sorry to hear of you BFN. You seem really positive though. Is there not a still a hope though if you're only 11dpt? Sorry if I've misunderstood.

Moggle what is this Frijj with protein powder you speak of?? How much do I add? H has loads of protein shit kicking round I could use when I get to stimming.

moggle · 17/02/2014 12:32

MaryP, so sorry that you got a BFN. It is good that you don't have too long to wait to start again, I hope you can fill the days until then with lots of fun stuff with DS.

cwtch - I used to read the pregnancy boards on here lots when we started TTC but had to stop after a while cos it sent my brain into overdrive! Good luck and try not to over-google!

one - sorry you are having a tough time. I do think everyone has their moments of 'it's never going to work' but feeling that way continually must be so draining. How is DH doing, still being a tit?

We had a nice weekend with family, cousins and a whole gaggle of their kids aged 3-9, it was great, especially as no babies or pregnant women :-) My favourite bit was when the (just) 3 yr old asked me very seriously, about my brother's dog: "When will he have kittens?". Grin

Then this morning I had my first scan since starting stimms. Everything looked good which was a relief after my episodes of spotting last week. Got a 15 follicles at good sizes (most on the R side, oddly), and my lining is looking good. Just hope there are decent eggs in the follies... They were even discussing reducing my menopur dose from 300 which I'm kind of amazed at since I have low AMH; they did a blood test and will call me this afternoon to let me know what dose to take tonight. Currently the nurse says I still look on course for EC next monday as per my original treatment plan (they do love a good schedule at my clinic). I'm putting it all down to the Frijj-with-extra-protein-powder as a good excuse to drink more of it cos it is bloody delicious.

cwtching · 17/02/2014 11:55

MP sending you big hugs, I'm so sorry for today's BFN but I think you are definitely right to test again on Wed. I also just wanted to say that I think your positive outlook is wonderful.

one I'm so sorry you are feeling so low. This whole process has such a hard hitting emotional impact. It can be utterly soul destroying. Have you thought about taking up your clinics free counselling session? In truth I wish I had before we started. I would absolutely second what some of the other ladies are saying about visiting other clinics. It seems that in London each clinic has specialities of dealing with different issues/ problems. I wish you all the luck and love in the world.

Hello shell sending a big welcome!

Bad sending hugs, I hope you aren't rushed off your feet this week. The worry definitely doesn't stop. I feel you need a treat. Why do DP's never organise these spontaneously?! Hmm.

Wish I hope your appointment goes well.

Stars your friend sounds awsome!

Um blackberry bakewell sounds amazing fab, brooker do you have a link to the recipe? My mouth is watering!

Twinkle I love this lentil recipe it's really quick and easy and is delish: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1364/spicy-root-and-lentil-casserole

Thanks you all so much for all your lovely congratulations. It still doesn't feel very real. It's a bit odd because its such early days I feel like I can't let myself get too excited (although I am so happy and thankful to have got this far). I keep finding myself 'talking' (dont worry not out loud!) the little embie into sticking around (weirdo!). bugs you are so right I spent Saturday in a daze and NOTHING at all got done apart from some major googling. I've realised that I've done some extensive reading/ research on ttc and infertility but have absolutely no idea about pregnancy or what to expect - oops Grin.

starsandmoonandback · 17/02/2014 11:06

MaryP, I'm so sorry. Hugs xx

One, hope you're ok?

Hi to everyone else.

Does anyone want some unopened zita west vitamins for half price? I bought a whole load and they'll just go to waste otherwise.

WannabeMaryPoppins · 17/02/2014 10:55

Well one it looks like you are not the only one with a BFN Sad. I did a test this morning and there was not even a hint of a second line and I am 11dp5dt so I think it is pretty conclusive. I'm still going to take the hormones until Wednesday when I'll do another test just to be certain I think its called wishful thinking but I'm not going for my proluton jab tomorrow. Am obviously very disappointed but I am trying to concentrate on all the positives at the moment such as DS being full of beans again and will then start gearing up for the fresh cycle. I should start stabbing with my next AF so at least I don't have long to wait. Just wish that my time was now ... just keep saying to myself that this is just one more hurdle to overcomee before I am finally able to meet my baby. If that makes sense.
