The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Hello sarnie sorry to see you here, but this thread does really help keep you upbeat x

All those with shit GP's of might be worth trying another (even in the same surgery) there seems to be no continuity of care so another might be more sympathetic/on the ball x

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, all packed, loads if sanitry stuff just in case but no cotton buds ;) so got everything crossed for some BFP's on Friday for you ladies, not sure how much Internet access I'll have but I will try to get on as this thread is addictive xxx

Sundance2007 · 18/02/2014 21:27

Hiya fedup, great news, so so pleased for you. But save me a seat too, it's coming up to my one year anniversary on this thread I think, which is rather depressing.

What's with all this cotton bud abuse? Leave them alone, you'll only dry yourselves out!

seasides, I see what you mean about my pretentious sounding b.i.l, haha, sounds like I married into a family of millionaires or something, sadly not.

donna, it's a tough call, but I think it's worth setting a target date, if you havent already. If anything, having tests booked in help you feel like you're being more proactive and there's usually such a long waiting list which gives you time to try naturally with the reassurance of extra help at the end if unsuccessful. You have to really nag at doctors though, it's so frustrating.

My gynae hospital appt is on Monday, after 4 months waiting time, so hopefully it won't be a total waste of time. Hoping they can at least shed light on my wtf cycles.

Has anyone had any luck with the cough medicine/ ewcm effect? If so, which stuff did you use and when do you start taking it?

sebsmummy1 · 18/02/2014 21:01

Oh yep. My GP said he would only refer me if we wanted to self fund IVF as we wouldn't qualify on the NHS.

At the time I was really just wanting confirmation that I was ovulating, two weeks later I fell pregnant so we know I am. So basically there is nothing my GP would offer me whereas other girls (with children) on my TTC thread were being offered all sorts of tests. I have a feeling that even if I have 3 mc in the trot he still won't be interested in investigating them Sad

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/02/2014 20:39

Oh great, more NHS doing things differently in different places - I HATE that. Bring back a proper NATIONAL Health Service!
But thanks for the info

Misspositivity · 18/02/2014 20:31

doctor. Crap news

I am just about to turn 36 and asked for referral. Was to go back at Xmas to arrange. Gp said a few months to get over mc an then after 6 months of good level of trying then will refer but will do bloods etc before that. Think every GP has different view.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/02/2014 20:08

Two things - 1) the stupid cow who bullied me in secondary school has just had a baby Angry! UNFAIR.
2) Seeing as I turned 35 in my 2 month pregnancy that ended in MMC, I'm wondering when myself and DH should be thinking about going down the investigations route?

Misspositivity · 18/02/2014 19:37

sal. Lol. Just make sure you count them in and out. You don't want to be going for a dildo cam when preggers and them hoking out some stray buds!!!!

Hi newbies. Sorry you have to be here

fedup excellent news.

Well it turns out my bath is pregnant!!! This is how it happen.
Poas (fish slap) decided I just maybe could see a faint line so as dd was in the bath i decided to use bath water so I could have a comparison test ( do I sound mad yet??). Anyway second line is more visible for the baths test. So chuffed for her. Think mine is an Evap line. Third day of spotting so am sure AF will arrive tomorrow.

sebsmummy1 · 18/02/2014 18:57

Oh fed up I am totally delighted for you Grin. I was lurking on the RM thread to see how you got on today and was whooping in the kitchen when it was good news. Gives us all a little hope.

Tadpole - huge hugs. I think your plans sound beautiful. What a perfect way to symbolise your hopes and dreams that were lost that day. Im sure it will give you a lot of comfort and if my mc had been similar I would have done the same. My sister lost her second pregnancy and also planted a tree Smile. She went on to have her second son who will be two in April.

Sal you have forced me to have a rummage up there too and I think I might have found some fertile cm. Just incase I will be jumping on DP in the next hour or so.

Parsley2506 · 18/02/2014 18:38

Yay fedup! I was literally just thinking about you this afternoon, so glad to hear things are progressing well and long may it continue! Thanks for bagsying some seats, hopefully we'll be there soon. Not feeling too confident this month but we shall see. Give my best to our other recent grads too if they migrated thread with you Grin.

sal one way to save money on tampons eh? Wink

tadpole have a hug and go easy on yourself this week.

Tadpole2013 · 18/02/2014 18:20

Otters Congratulations! The next best thing to a baby (I hope)!

Tea Sorry for the driving test. I, too, failed my first. I was 8mnths preggo and was in such a hurry to pee that I oversaw a stop sign. Muuuh!

Sal, sweetie, please stop prodding your honey pot! OMG. This is going to be my next obsession.

Sun Good luck with moving! I was going to move in 4 weeks but the administrator responsible for my flat is turning out to be a real bitch. But, I'm moving to my forever house! :-) So fuck her, anyway, right?

Minky I know I'm going to sound really crazy. Which I probably am. When I mc'd I couldn't for the life of my flush my little Tadpole down the loo. I couldn't. DP couldn't either. So I collected him and packed him in very safely and stored him in a disused freezer drawer. We are going to bury him under the big tree in front of our new house. In the sun. OMG. My EDD is coming Saturday and I was thinking I'm actually holding it together real well but now I'm crying and just feel so sad for my little babe.

Sorry. That caught me off-guard.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/02/2014 18:13

Excellent news fedup!

HollyBen · 18/02/2014 18:09

Thats brilliant news fedup We have had lots of feeling down recently so thats great to hear.

sal step away from the cotton buds. The first step is admitting you have a problem. Repeat after me my name is sal and I have an addiction to swipe my fanjo with cotton buds. Keep saying it till you mean itGrin

Sal1977 · 18/02/2014 17:37

Seriously, I don't think I'll have an AF this cycle as I'm swiping it before it hits the open air!!

Sal1977 · 18/02/2014 17:35

Make that 87. I can't stop!!! Confused

fedupofrainydays · 18/02/2014 17:28

Hello Fellow TITH champions, how are you all? Am I allowed to say I honestly miss you all... The banter, fish throwing and over-sharing... I still chuckle when I think about things like syringes and penis beakers.

But I'm pleased to say that I'm just popping in to share some news as requested that will hopefully keep up the posifrickintivity. After two weeks of incessant crotch watch I had a scan today and it's all in the right place and there was a little blob with a heart beat. I'm about 5 + 6 so a long long way to go but I cried with relief that there was at least something there. I had nightmares last night about it all being empty. Next scan is in two weeks unless any bad bleeding in between so hoping that flies by (well I can wish)

I hope you are doing well girls... Otters I see you got engaged - hurrah!!!
I'm going to be checking in on Fridays to see some more bfps... I've saved a few seats for you on the preggers threads and they are waiting to be filled by the lovelies on here - sal, parsley you def have bagsied yours.
Hi to the newbies too I'm a proper thread veteren - I starters on this thread back in march 2013, had another mc in dec 13 and on my 4 pregnancy now... And hopefully a grad for keeps.

Now feeling crampy and a bit sore down there... Hoping just from willy-cam prodding but starts the worrying... Lob me a trout please.

Seasides · 18/02/2014 17:15

Haaa Sal! Trout bazooka aimed at you...put the cotton bud down...slowly...get those hands where we can see them and leave the loo. Grin

Hi sarnie, sorry you've had to join us. If you flick back a bit you'll see we're all with you on the not-being-big-fans-of-pregnant-ladies thing. Unless they're us, in which case we LOVE them!

Good luck with the packing sundance, an exciting chore. Lol at 'one of your BIL's spare houses', so casual like! Sorry it's pube infested though...less good.

sebsmummy1 · 18/02/2014 16:44

Sal I am weeping here Grin. Why oh why did I mention bloody cotton buds. I should have STFU.

Parsley2506 · 18/02/2014 16:36

sal step away from the cotton buds! said totally hypocritically as I am poking around like mad myself at the moment. Not this literal moment, but you know what I mean

Welcome sarnie, embrace those emotions best you can. They don't make you a failure or a bad person. Glad your GP is assisting with some positive action for you but hopefully you won't need it.

minky I wasn't planning on marking the loss, but was inexplicably drawn to a beautiful handmade silver heart necklace at a craft fair before Xmas which I bought in memory of bean. Haven't told anyone else that's what it is for, it's just for me.

sun you gotta be on the ball to keep up round here! I HATE packing of all varieties so you have my total sympathy on that one. I usually start off neat and by the end am just flinging anything in to any box going which is obviously not at all the reason why we still have two unopened packing boxes in the loft 5 years after moving

CD29 and am getting those weird fanjo bubbles that usually immediately precede the arrival of AF. Sad

Sal1977 · 18/02/2014 16:17

Just want to say, I've poked approximately 86 cotton buds up my fanjo in the last 48hours.

With no lock on the bathroom door, I'm hoping DH doesn't come in to discover me looking like I'm going to curl one out on the bathroom floor. Just saying.

Sundance2007 · 18/02/2014 14:23

Hi all - blimey, been away for a few days break and boom! - about two hundred posts on here since I last checked in.

Massive congrats to Otter - what a lovely proposal, it nearly made me cry!! Wedding planning can be a lot of fun, though I'm glad Pinterest wasn't around when I got married otherwise I would have been overly obsessive about everything.

So no bfp's to report? Sorry girls, fx that it's just too early and we'll get another wave of successes soon.

Currently packing the house to move - we have to be out in 4 weeks.Shit. My brother in law is renting us one of his spare houses, which would have been a nice gesture if it wasn't a total dive. The previous tenants have recked it - I saw pubes in the bathroom - ewww. So now have to clean that house too as well as packing here. can't wait to find a house we can actually live in permanently.

Minkymooks · 18/02/2014 11:49

Tried to convince hubby that a diamond encrusted eternity ring would be the best piece of jewellery (it's not going to go out of fashion!) - still waiting! And think will die waiting. Oh well

Something to mark the EDD sounds good - I am better at keeping busy - worked an extra shift yesterday instead of thinking about my 12w scan. Or have a tendency to neck huge quantities of vino. Not good when ttc! Hmm.

I know EXACTLY what you mean about babies and Facebook - I swear half my friends have pushed one out this last week!

Well, the sun is shining and there is a single snowdrop in my garden. Plus I have welcomed almond croissants into my life (wipes drool off chin) so today I am feeling positive. Can recommend sarnie if only a brief fix !

CorporeSarnie · 18/02/2014 11:28

Hi minky, I didn't do anything like that as it was so early on, plus I was worried about a tree not surviving, or having to leave it behind if we move house etc.
You could get a charm if you like those bracelets, or maybe a particular piece of jewellery as a momento? I might do something like that to mark my EDD, as I think it will be a hard day for me.

Minkymooks · 18/02/2014 11:16

Thank you ladies for the nice welcome. Need to get used to all the lingo on here.

Got a feeling my blob on way - since having my dd I get period pains in the backs of my legs and bum. Very weird. Had same pain when mc but the nurse at EPU looked at me like I was a nutter when I said - my legs ache! Be glad to get the wait over with if it is, but think it may be a blood bath so have decided to stay in and eat cake.

Talking of psychics - I have a good friend who describes herself as "spiritual" ( I think she is a mad hippy but love her to bits). She told me I was pregnant a week before I'd even got the bfp (which I did early). Shame she didn't tell me it wasn't going to be. I am usually a massive skeptic.

Did you do any to mark your loss? People keep suggesting a rose bush but I am worried I'll kill it Shock

CorporeSarnie · 18/02/2014 11:12

Hi all, can I crash the party? I was on the early MC thread but that seems to have merged with this one/fallen off the active list.
I have a DD, 2yo, who is wonderful, but... I had an early MC back in Jul13, and didn't do a lot of DTD in the months afterwards, as I wasn't feeling up to it; so started trying in earnest back in Dec. I have had a short LP (10 days or so), with spotting during the last few days before AF, so have started investigations with my GP... tests so far have come back 'normal', but am awaiting ultrasound.

I am feeling a bit low at the mo and in need of a bit of support. The EDD of my MC is fast approaching (I would have been 36w this week I think), and it seems like everyone I distantly know via FB has had a baby in the last week or two (even people I haven't seen in yonks and didn't know were pg), and I am just so sad and jealous and yet disgusted at myself for feeling like that. DH just doesn't get it, as to him I don't think the baby was ever real.
So right now I am on CD21, 8dpo, waiting to see if I am going to spot, get AF or BFP in the next few days, knowing I have an US next month if it doesn't happen this month, so I should feel hopeful, but actually all I feel is a massive failure to have not been pregnant by now, and so envious of all the lovely newborns, but worse, also sad that my beautiful DD isn't enough for me.
Sorry, I know positivity is the name of the game here - think I need an injection of it!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 18/02/2014 11:02

Going for a run I the hope the motion lures AF out properly.
Obviously I've been googling very light periods and have decided I have low estrogen! Light periods = poor lining = no chance in hell a bean will get comfy! Wallop with a trout needed!
