The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Ooooh 8dpo Otters!! Grin. Go awn, what symptoms have you?

OttersPocket · 24/02/2014 09:45

Good morning and happy new week everyone. Welcome choccy and Pickle, come join the madness Grin

I'm impressed with all the tith recently, especially you sebs! We made a sterling effort this month but now ov has passed I really can't be bothered. I'm a terrible person Wink

8dpo for me today and trying so hard not to SS. Distracting myself with wedding planning work to try to keep my mind from it.

Seasides · 24/02/2014 09:19

Hi Choccy - have you been on one of these threads before? I feel like I remember your name. I've been here since God was a small boy, I'm sorry you're still struggling too. And pickle, hi.

Shagger of the month award to sebs! Rutting season has started here too, a little later than the SMEP we'd planned as DH had to do the sperm run on Friday and was then too hungover on sat.

Just opened a book and my original temp chart fell out. I only did one before the ectopic, the month I got my BFP - I've marked a little exclamation mark on the day. It's reassuring to see it matches the charts I've been doing for the last two months, I suppose it means my hormones are more sensible. It's a bit [confusing] and Sad though.

Also - an odd thing. DH has been complaining recently that my smell has changed. It sounds ridiculous, but I'm actually worried about it, he doesn't like it! I once had to break up with a boyfriend when I went on the pill - my hormones changed and I could no longer bear his smell, I stopped being attracted to him completely. I'm worried that by sorting out my hormones with agnus castus etc I've changed them and DH will fancy me less!

Hi choccy and Pickle welcome aboard. I'm sorry for both your losses. Like others have said I hope your stays will be short and sweet. Sorry the witch showed up Pickle but well done on the posifrickentivity.

Sarnie it's impossible not to worry with our histories but today you are pregnant. Hold on that.

Well done sebs passes chafing cream. Sterling effort. Hope it pays off for you!

Back to work after a week off and sat on a freezing cold train. Definitely not going to spend my day looking up stories of people who had zero symptoms but still got their BFP interspersed with scoffing the bon maman biscuits I bought for my colleagues. ...

EnglishGirlAbroad · 23/02/2014 23:26

High fives Sebs! That's some serious dedication! I'm hoping I can muster some enthusiasm, I'm aiming for a marathon too!!

Sorry you're having to join us pickle, wishing you a short but sweet journey.

picklebum2011 · 23/02/2014 22:37

sebsmummy1 · 23/02/2014 22:29

That is dedication, yes indeedy very fucking sore now

That is all.

picklebum2011 · 23/02/2014 22:08

Thanks parsley, so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm just going to have a read through now I'm officially on the bus.

Parsley2506 · 23/02/2014 21:57

Pull up a pew pickle you're in good (jaded) company here! Sorry to hear of your losses, we can all relate to the feelings you describe.

After waiting 18 months for a BFP and then losing it to a MMC at 11 weeks. As such I've never had any innocent enjoyment of ttc or being pg. It's pretty saddening to contemplate, but I know I'll get there in the end and in the meantime, the ladies on this thread are seriously the best tonic and so supportive.
We will look after you pickle but hopefully you'll be moving on before too long!

picklebum2011 · 23/02/2014 21:28

Hi can I join you all? I'm struggling on my own in the rw. My brief history mmc Feb 09 and June 09 dd July 2010. Mmc June 13. Been trying for two months with no joy. We've always fallen first time before so can't help worrying. It is all so hard I long for the innocence of making a baby and assuming it will all be OK. Would be really nice to be on thus difficult journey with you all.

Justonemoretime · 23/02/2014 20:30

Cool. :) I'll see you on there (I'm also a recurrent MMC er). I know that some of the ladies have seen Prof Q for the NK tests, if not for the RMC.

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2014 19:53

I'll check that other thread out thanks parsley.

Waves at English and sebsmummy.

It's prof Quenby I'm seeing tomorrow I believe justone Grin Glad I'm in good hands.

Justonemoretime · 23/02/2014 18:48

Choccy, Prof Quenby works at Coventry - she offers NK testing for 360 pounds and part of that involves the 'scratch' which apparently boosts the lining for 3 months and therefore boosts chances of conception - so I am told. I don't think that is part of the routine RMC tests, but I expect they can advise you on whether it's worth paying for. I am actually coming up for this test in March (hopefully). I have had all the other tests at St Mary's where I got all clear except for a heart shaped uterus with a septum which they fixed.
I'm not sure what other RMC Coventry offer, but with Prof Q on the team, I expect they'll be good.
There seems to be differing opinions on progesterone, claxene (the brand name for herapin) and various doses of aspirin. Best to wait and see what they thing will help you in your specific case. I hope they get you sorted.

Parsley2506 · 23/02/2014 18:43

Thanks for all the reassurance ladies. No more clot obsessing for me!

sundance how frustrating! but at least you've caught it and just once could be enough so try not to stress out too much!

choccy welcome on board, I hope you don't have to stay too long! I know there's a recurrent MC thread over on the Pregnancy Loss board, you might find that useful for question compiling. I hope your appointment goes well and you get answers!

sarnie sending your little finger sarnie heaps of posifrickentivity and telling it to stay put!

After feeling so proud for enduring ikea yesterday, I have abandoned MrP to flat pack hell and am roasting a chicken instead. I got angry before I'd even finished one cupboard! Their bloody diagrams are so annoying!

sebsmummy1 · 23/02/2014 18:10

Hi choccy. So sorry you are here as well. Everyone is do lovely but we never want new members Sad

Well it looks as though I might indeed be ovulating in the next two days. I obviously have been getting EWCM as my CBFM had me reading low yesterday and high today and there is a clear shift on the test stick readings. We have definitely done enough BDing. Just got to hope my body actually manages to OV as opposed to show all the signs and then do bugger all.

Then it's the joy of the 2ww I suppose.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 23/02/2014 17:59

Hi Choccy! Good luck tomorrow. Hope you get some answers.

Re clots - pretty sure I always had a few clots pre mc.
My af is so light, im worried. Normally a day of spotting, a day of medium flow and then a couple of light. Is that normal?? I at least want a couple of days full/medium flow. Pretty sure pre-pill my af's lasted a good 5/6 days. Now its 3/4.

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2014 17:15

Thanks justone, it's at University Hospital in Coventry.
I'm writing down questions at the moment.
I had bloods done after the last CP but obviously hormones etc would have still been present so they were probably pretty pointless really. I was also taking baby aspirin so that would've affected my clotting screen.

Waves at Doctor Smile

They did mention last time about perhaps giving me pesseries etc, or cream. I've also read about injections that can be taken on a daily basis (claxane?)
My friend who is going through ov'd has also mentioned an endometrial scratch which I'd never heard of before.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 23/02/2014 17:03

Oh Choccy, Sorry you're here. Hope you get answers from your tests.

Justonemoretime · 23/02/2014 16:59

Hello Chocky, sorry you find yourself here, but welcome.
Which clinic are you going to? Many go a range of bloods and a scan and then more bloods 6 weeks later and possibly any action if needed based on scan and interview of your history. St Mary's in London do a TEG test that other clinics don't do, its their specialism.
Most will give you an action plan, but probably not until the repeat bloods have been done and this might be to just try again or maybe use aspirin or herapin next time you get a BFP. Try to write your history down and take any paper work as you might miss details when you're there. Also write down any questions you can think of before hand and take them. If you can, get the clinic admin or secretary's email address so that you can keep in touch and ask questions if you remember something later. I expect that the questions you will need to ask will arise after you've got the first round of test results back, so tomorrow will be just the start of the journey. Good luck!

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2014 16:42

Hi ladies

Haven't read back on this thread but do you mind if I join?
I had 3 chemical mcs nov/dec/jan, had February off and due to ov this coming week.
I have a beautiful 2 1/2 yo ds who I absolutely adore.
I'm so scared about the next few weeks and it all happening again.

I have a recurrent mc clinic appt tomorrow afternoon and I don't really know what to expect apart from blood tests etc.
I had a scan after my last CP and the nurse was absolutely fabulous and she said the consultant was brilliant.
I'm just writing down questions to ask at the moment.
Can anyone shed any light on what goes on at the appt? I'm in the uk, not sure if that matters.

So sorry for all of your losses, it just absolutely is the worst thing ever.

Sundance2007 · 23/02/2014 15:40

parsley. - sounds v.normal. I had clots for at least 3 af's post mc, then back to normal, then more clots. Gross, but quite normal too, the doc told me that would happen when I had my mc.

So, been having a few cramps today, curiosity got the better of me so I just took an opk, 2 strong lines! I only finished af 7 days ago!!! So naturally panicking that my SMEP plans are out the window. Will have a bash tonight but can't believe my planned assault on at least 8 days of TITH has gone out the window!! Wtf is going in with these cycles???

MissHobart · 23/02/2014 15:23
Grin

I too am living vicariously through all you lot! AF due later this week, nothing else to report! Hmm

CorporeSarnie · 23/02/2014 15:14

Hi all, just dropping in. Still spotting a little, so am trying to be as blunt with myself as I can, accept that I'm still a long way from any scans and that they wouldn't stop anything anyway. But am also hoping for the best. Positivity needed for the littlest sarnie. Otherwise am feeling tired and a bit nauseous but no other symptoms as yet.
parsley, clots were variable for me before DC & mc, try not to fret.
