The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Oh phew handsfull, at least you know now-and it's the most (tentatively) exciting outcome! Good plan having a quiet evening to digess and wobble, then the docs can reassure you all is undoubtedly fine on Mon. Hope you and your dh are ok and not freaking out too much.

parsley, my whole entire, extended family know about mine, so I've not been in the same situation, but I just have to grin, breathe deep and truck on with my sis.Good idea to limit the booze, sit next to the ones you get on best with and make your excuses at a reasonable hour if you've had enough.

Yay handsfull!! Keep cool and calm, make sure your gp knows and then day each day at a time - today you are pregnant!! Whoooooop! Xx

Parsley2506 · 31/01/2014 21:13

Ooh err indeed handsful! Woohoo, BFP Friday again! I hope it's a good sticky one for you this time!

Well, I have had a fun evening. My sister, who lives abroad, is visiting with niece and nephew (6 & 10), staying with my parents for my Dad's 70th.

Went round tonight for dinner firstly to find out that my Dad has invited SIL, BIL & niece to his 'party' on Sunday. All the other guests are aunts, uncles etc. from my side of the family, and none know about the MC. SIL has 'my' 5 mth bump, and no doubt all my family will be cooing over it and asking when she's due etc. I am not sure what to do, it's going to be bloody torture. Anyone got any coping strategies? (And don't say get drunk cos that makes me even more weepy!)

THEN during dinner, we were talking about doing up the utility room and nephew (who obviously knows nothing about the MC or pg) chimes in "is it for your baby?" . My mum then says "what baby?" (while I am silently frozen thinking the exact same thing but in a much glummer way).
I had to leave the room, crying in front of kids is not a good idea!

Anyway, my family have generally been great and I am not complaining, just feeling a bit woe is me. Chin up, tits out, on with the toad in the hole with lashings of gravy. :::sob:::

Triplespin · 31/01/2014 21:03

Congrats handsfull so we do have a bfp this Friday after all.

Thanks parsley and otters. Yes I will definitely ask my lining to be checked as part of hycosy. seaside you should definitely ask for one. It's good to at least clear up any doubts and as the girls say, in fact may even improve bfp chances. The consultant did tell me that if there are minor blockages, the hycosy actually clears those up.

Sal1977 · 31/01/2014 20:57

Mini whoop whoop!

Get down the quacks on Moanday! Xx

Penguin13 · 31/01/2014 20:41

Congratulations hands. Wishing you a lovely calm, uneventful pregnancy.

Justonemoretime · 31/01/2014 20:30

Got some serious ov pain maybe wind this evening. Tbh, all my ov signs seem to be more intense this month. Weird. And ouchy.

Justonemoretime · 31/01/2014 20:18

Congratulations, Hands, may your pregnancy be dull and uneventful. Grin

champagnegoldfinch · 31/01/2014 20:10

Eeeeeeek! Oh, handsful let's hope the brown spotting is a good sign! Congratulations!

deus, sorry about your shitty WTF cycle. It's crap isn't it? Hopefully AF will be just around the corner though.

OttersPocket · 31/01/2014 19:59

Congratulations Handsful!!

Don't panic, think calm thoughts, the posifrickinity girls are right here with you Grin

Handsfullandlovingit · 31/01/2014 19:38

Ooh er. BFP. Faint, but a definite line. Ooh er. I'm all wibbly. Just in time to not ring the gp and panic at them. As I said, ooh er. Have a lovely Friday night everybody. I'm going to be rocking silently in a corner somewhere.

Sal1977 · 31/01/2014 18:17

PMSL at the extra gravy!! (Whilst bum is on pillow after TITH)

Handsful I didn't think that what is in effect a Chrmical pregnancy would count but it does apparantly, as long as you tell your GP. I exaggerated a few days and pushed mine out to 5 weeks when talking to the RMC consultant and I even said "it probably doesn't count does it?" And she said yes it does! Straight from the horses mouth!!

Seasides · 31/01/2014 16:44

Mine's been short and weird too and agnus castus seems to be really helping. Only on month 2 of it thus far, but last af was far more normal. ov also happened on CD15 rather than 17/18 as previously. Hoping I never find out if it will help with af this month!

OP posts:
Justonemoretime · 31/01/2014 16:38

short AFs, I mean. Shock

Justonemoretime · 31/01/2014 16:37

Sorry for the pessimistic post earlier, would just hate for anyone to miss out on treatment they need and are entitled to.
Short AF ladies, mine is, too. I was scanned to see if ashermans (I advise you to stay away from Dr Google... that was not a happy morning!) Ask for a mid cycle scan and maybe they will do a hysteroscopy if they want a closer look. St Marys did that for me and it wasn't scar tissue, it was a septum! Prof Regan wasn't worried about short cycles going forward, but I do go for acupuncture and I think its helping... maybe!

Parsley2506 · 31/01/2014 14:02

Ditto what fedup says handsful. There's a recurrent MC thread on the pregnancy loss board, one of the lovely ladies on there might be able to confirm what should happen and arm you with some q's to ask - NOT that you're going to need them.

fedupofrainydays · 31/01/2014 13:25

And the doc at EPU told me next time if get bfp to phone the immediately... So I think that's her way of telling me to get in there!!! And then she would scan me at six weeks if I got that far...

fedupofrainydays · 31/01/2014 13:23

I think so. I would phone up EPU and that way they have you on the system or also call doctor and say you had bfp and worried re bleeding. BUT am sure that won't happen but that's what I would do to get it 'on the record'

20 dpo is pretty late.....

OttersPocket · 31/01/2014 13:22

Sorry Handsful I'm really not sure. One of the others might know though...

But I've everything crossed for you that this has a happy outcome Smile

Handsfullandlovingit · 31/01/2014 13:17

(I'm only 20 days past ovulation)

Handsfullandlovingit · 31/01/2014 13:16

So a question. If I did get a bfp today and then start bleeding properly, would that be counted by the NHS as a loss? I'd then reach the magic 3 required for investigations.

Sundance2007 · 31/01/2014 13:04

Sorry for the BFN's today, fx it's just a bit too early to pick up.

I've only just started the 2ww so my sticks will have to reside in the cupboard for a while . I'm not optimistic as we didn't optimise on the whole shagathon week!.

Re: smears...it's actually pretty safe to have one when pregnant, though it depends on whether the nurse/doctor wants to have a try, they should ask you before you have one and they might refuse to do it.

Seasides · 31/01/2014 12:55

Ah, that cat story is so funny, and exactly the kind of thing that sets me off these days-has anyone seen the advert with the lonely old man and his dog? Bawler.

I'm gunning for a hycosy too, glad to hear it doesn't hurt as saw some scary posts about it. I've almost convinced myself my other tube is blocked, but I'm also fuming that I've not been offered it already. The hospital told me it can block your tubes, which is total arse. If I've wasted a year of my life ttc with blocked tube I will be blind raging.

Exciting handsfull! I get your reasoning, but I'm in awe of your willpower.

Sorry for bfns-some way too early though, so still lots of hope. My next af is due on the 12th, it would be cheesily amazing to get a bfp for Valentine's!

Handsfullandlovingit · 31/01/2014 12:31

just how sensible you are. I hadn't thought of that. How bloody depressing. In other news, I have some brown spotting. I had that with the two good pregnancies but with neither of the lost ones. Eek.

All this talk of sausages is making me hungry. I wonder how many of us will actually cook TITH next week? It would make clan Handsfull rejoice!

OttersPocket · 31/01/2014 12:06

WTAF?!!! A review: 'Not taken long enough to judge in a month, still believing in it, but yes changes are there cycle changes to right, heat or along bikini line. Your hubby gets in trouble as your libido rises to 99.9%. Hoping to be jump started correctly with a baby.' Grin
