The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

lucky same here-all everyone says is 'you're young, you're healthy, it'll happen'. I know it's great we started ttc when I was relatively young, but dh is 12 years older than me. I feel I'm taken less seriously by docs.

So glad you're ok handsfull, excellent attitude. They should give you an early scan for sure. Enjoy the tith!

Handsfullandlovingit · 02/02/2014 18:37

Evening. We are having tith tonight, yum! I'm strangely chilled about my v early days bfp. I think the crunch will come at about 10 weeks, which is when last baby died. Will they be nice and give me an early scan? I'm going to freak out at the doctor tomorrow, I got a merit mark for my pretend crying in drama at school, perhaps I should give that a go?

parsley I hope you survived the day.

Luckystar1 · 02/02/2014 18:07

Fingers crossed sea I should be going on maternity leave soon, but I've got nothing except negative tests and a stressed out dh!

I know, deep down I know that it should happen, I just feel that no one takes me seriously about my worries because I'm 'only' 27 (and a hypochondriac!!!).

And mumsnet, while its great, also does add to the pain and jealousy when I see active threads of people moaning about pregnancies etc (which is totally their right of course!)

Seasides · 02/02/2014 17:49

I'm with you lucky - this month is unusual for symptom spotting again, I've kind of even given up doing that. But I've long felt a futility to it all, it's so hard to imagine it ever happening. Sorry, I'm not even un-positive, really - I know academically it will, somehow, happen at some point. It's just my emotions aren't on board. So, what I mean to say, very badly, is that the academia is right - it will happen again, and our emotions will get a big surprise when it does!

Luckystar1 · 02/02/2014 17:39

I need a fish slap. Af due on Wed (if following this new short cycle it has taken to following). Tested got BNF, not surprised, I wasn't even that upset. Just can't see this happening for me for a long time.

Not very positive thinking! Ahhhh! Must improve mind frame!

Parsley2506 · 02/02/2014 12:52

Seafood cannon! Or a bazooka maybe!? I like it Grin

Right, time to get dressed (yes I am a slob) and get this show on the road. Thanks for the words of support ladies - chin up, tits out!

TeaRex · 02/02/2014 12:32

Hope your day goes okay Parsley and thank you all for making me feel better about driving :) when all your friends have been driving for years/passed first time etc it does make you question yourself lol
also I'm sure I'll be needing it soon enough so how about fashioning some sort of seafood cannon? Obviously you'd have to stand yourself in front of something easy to clean like a shower curtain but could be a 'refreshing' change to the good ol slap?

Tadpole2013 · 02/02/2014 12:02

Hello ladies!
May I join, please? I haven't had such a laugh in a long time! Loved the 'hello bitches'! I have to watch that show.
If I may, my stats: Tadpole2013 42; TTC # 2. BFP June 11 2013 MC June 15 2013. Chemical September 2013. Two late AF arrivals since which had my head in a spin but sadly left the uterus very unimpressed.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 02/02/2014 12:01

Penguin - oh my god that's awful! Some people clearly don't think!

Penguin13 · 02/02/2014 11:51

Good luck Parsley, I'll be thinking of you. Spending the afternoon with my sister who has a baby and who last time I saw her joked that I was lucky to have had an mc after her baby puked on her shoulder. Deep breath!

Seasides · 02/02/2014 11:10

Thanks parsley-good luck this afternoon. Hope your dad has a lovely day too.

fedupofrainydays · 02/02/2014 11:04

I don't know how but I passed first time. Same day as my then boyfriend and he failed! Girl power! (He was v annoyed, a competitive sod)

Trying v hard not to symptom spot as mine are all the same post ov - sore boobs, increased cm, insomnia and tiredness. Ugh. Think am 12 dpo today. But not sure.

Good luck parsley. It's a fab day so get outside playing footie! (Or pretending too)

DoctorDonnaNoble · 02/02/2014 10:57

Good luck Parsley!

Parsley2506 · 02/02/2014 10:46

Symptom spotting isn't currently a rule is it? Regardless, it is not good for mental health or stress levels so, prawns, fish fingers and a random bag of scampi tails coming your way seasides (really need to clear out our freezer!)

Psyching myself up for this afternoon. First mention of SILs pregnancy I am going to offer to go outside and play football with my nephew (I don't know how to play football). Must stay away from the drinks cabinet, must stay away from the drinks cabinet, must stay away from the drinks cabinet....

Seasides · 02/02/2014 10:36

Also, volley of prawns in my direction too please, for thinking I can taste metal at 4dpo...

Seasides · 02/02/2014 10:31

I passed 3rd time, and only then coz it was Valentine's day and the examiner was in a good mood-technically I failed. In my 1st test I went through a red light in the first 100m! So no talk of failure around dodgy driving skills please. Or getting pg (though I'll admit to feeling the same on occasion. Feels a bit like I'm not working as a woman).

tanny, thinking of you too. Hope six weeks comes around quickly and ends with great news.

Not surprised you're getting hopes up English, sounds good!

OP posts:
Sal1977 · 02/02/2014 09:19

My mate failed her driving test 7 times before she passed and on one test the examiner made her park, turn the engine off, took the keys and made her wait in the car while he walked back to the test centre to get her instructor!! She's now quite high up in the police and works in the helicopter division!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 02/02/2014 08:52

Love the rule changing Parsley!

Parsley2506 · 02/02/2014 08:46

penguin is totally right doctor. Personally, I live by the mantra "first the worst, second the best, third the one with the hairy chest" EXCEPT for when I am racing my fellow commuters (eg first person to reach the ramp after getting off the train), then I must always win, even if I have to change the rules in my head so I can still be the winner (eg first woman in a blue coat to reach the ramp after getting off the train)
Wink

EnglishGirlAbroad · 02/02/2014 08:25

Morning ladies!
Tanny - sorry you're feeling a bit down in the dumps, but can totally understand. Fingers crossed the next week and a half flys by. Just take it day by day. We'll be thinking of you.

Doctor - you are not a failure! Think we all have moments like this, but remember it's not your fault. You will get there, we all will Smile

Welcome newbies, sorry you're joining us, but I've found this thread very helpful and cathartic. Hope you're stays aren't too long, but enjoy the ride while you're here. Grin

9dpo .....temp dip yesterday and a rise today... Going to the fridge to retrieve a salmon to slap my own face for even thinking it could be implantation!

TeresaGreene · 02/02/2014 07:45

Hi ewok I'm new here too - hopefully we won't be here long (no offence intended!) Tanny congrats and fingers well and truly crossed for you :). Penguin F&B cornforth is another favourite of mine and definitely on my 'to use' list if we move (a potential move is proving a very effective but expensive distraction from ttc!) Tbh, I'm not entirely sure when I ovulated - the sticks didn't detect it. Some months I get a bit of pain but nothing this month. Can I ask for opinions as to which ovulation detecting sticks are best?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 02/02/2014 07:19

Thanks Penguin, I have issues around success/failure going back to my time at super selective grammar. I'm trying to work through it though

Penguin13 · 02/02/2014 07:18

Oh and welcome ewok. Sorry you find yourself here but we're a good bunch to have around when the going is tough.

Penguin13 · 02/02/2014 07:13

Teresa, that's so frustrating about your bug. Hope you are feeling better. Are you sure you ovd when you think? Sometimes being ill can delay it. I love downpipe! Our living room doesn't get tonnes of natural light so we're going for Carnforth white (why is pale grey called white?) to go with our duck egg blue sofas.

Hey Tanny, good to hear from you :-) Hope the week and a half goes fast for you.

Doctor I'd hardly call passing second time a failure and as for having a baby, you're not failing as firstly it's not your fault what is happening and secondly it's just taking a little while. Here endeth the posifrickentivity sermon Mini fish slap with a prawn Smile
