The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

The line is still there but in a blink and you will miss it kind of way. I've never been able to test early in any of my pregnancies must ov late. If AF is on her way then I will need any help I can get, not sure howbyiu track temps and how u tell if you are ovulating. I brought a bundle of eBay this mth but the line never seemed to be that bright and I never had any ov pain.
Penguin you are making me hungry and no only booming Tues tom.

picklebum2011 · 24/02/2014 22:06

Thanks seasides, having lots if crampy pains and back ache start so expecting full blown AF any min. Will do a test in the morning if not. Sundance just read your second post how awful to see the other lady crying. So sad.

Penguin13 · 24/02/2014 22:04

Pickle! You must be going mental right now. Keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you.

In other news.....is it Friday yet?

H is away in Barcelona for work and I have a bad habit of treating myself to a properly 'naughty' meal when he is away because if no one saw you eat it it didn't happen right? Just ate soooooo much accompanied by two helpings of My Mad Fat Diary. Now feeling a bit blorpy.

Seasides · 24/02/2014 21:27

pickle fingers tightly crossed that the first test is the charm - however, did the line stay there? Did it show up before the 3 mins were up? If it disappeared you might have what happened to me the month before last, I got a false positive which faded. It was gutting. I really hope that FMU brings you some more lines, but if not, there's a possibility that's what it is. On the other hand, seeing as AF is a no show it sounds more likely that this is your month Smile

Glad you got at least some confirmation of hunches and some certainty sundance. Such a sad story of the crying woman Sad, I hope she wasn't on her own? We should have business cards with the thread url for such situations...

sundance on balance that sounds like a productive appointment. Good you've been guaranteed early scans next time too. Fx you'll be using them before long!

penguin that sounds promising, bring on Friday!

Has anyone seen the lovely sal?

Sundance2007 · 24/02/2014 18:50

Ooh sebs, I think we've synched up! I got strong line on opk yesterday evening, and pains today. With my dodgy cycles though I will probably have 3 af's before the end of your 2ww!

pickle, it sounds like you may have had some success, a line is a line, faint or not. Good luck

How long does your oh have to recover donna? Just don't fall into the trap of him getting used to being waited on, my DH has been known to abuse my kind nature when he knows I need him to perform!

picklebum2011 · 24/02/2014 17:25

Thanks for making me feel welcome. Happy Monday. Ah sorry Donna, fingers crossed you will be back to TTC v.soon. Ah Sundance I love how medical people say such unhelpful things, they make it sound so reasonable too don't always think they appreciate our emotions and the roller coaster rides we have been on sometimes though.
Well I've got a bit of a muddly one... Af was due today/tom. I've been telling myself all month that I'm not going to be pg as I had such a kick in the teeth last month and was so heartbroken. I had convinced myself I was and symptom spotting so much that I really had convinced myself I was pg. Anyway this mth I have been trying to not analyse anything. Anyway hubbie and I DTD last night and after I had a pinky red watery bleed, I immediately thought the witch had come and then joined here. Well I've had nothing since! I did a tescos own pg test and there's a feint line, you really have to look. So I brought the boots try 4 days before u are due ones and nothing!! I'm going crazy here!! Just can not bear to get my hopes up only to have them dashed. I've got one of each test left to test tom so hopefully more answers then. But just so stressy having them be DSO different. What does anyone think.. Am I foolish to have as glimmer of hope. Don't want to stress too much and then make AF late as of stress.
Sorry for long boring post. Have loved reading everyone's stories you all have positivity and strength. I'm up to page seven now so more bedtime reading for me later.

Penguin13 · 24/02/2014 16:49

Argh Donna what rotten timing. You're right, it's not fair. Crossing my fingers for your DH to make a miraculous recovery.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 24/02/2014 16:23

So, got home from school and it looks this month will be a right off for us as well Sad. DH has a UTI just as I'm becoming fertile. He's on antibiotics so with a bit of luck it'll clear up quickly. Knowing our luck it won't. Looks like we won't get to have any TITH at the appropriate time at all this month. Getting frustrated now as he was ill for most of my fertile period last month as well. It's just not fair!!!

OttersPocket · 24/02/2014 15:55

Oh Sundance that is so sad, that poor woman. I was all happy and naive before the mc and didn't really notice the other women waiting for scans. Until, of course, my own scan of doom.

I found out today that a friend of mine with whom I used to be close also experienced a mmc at her 12 week scan recently. I had no idea, nor did she have any idea about mine. We've had a chat about it today and it just feels so very sad. And also, so very common. It's a shitty thing to happen but I think it will bring us closer together again. Silver linings and all that.

I'm off home now to paint a couple of radiators in a vain attempt to take my mind off things. It's all go round the Otters household donchaknow!

Sundance2007 · 24/02/2014 15:35

I have to admit I think it is handy to be able to POAS pre-Friday if, and I do mean IF, you have a special occasion - though I suspect there may be some abusers if that rule on here...mentioning in names!!! :)

Sounds like me might have some good news coming up in the next week or so for some people, keeping fx for you all.

The consultant also said that we should only need to DTD twice a week if ttc....sounds ideal but not going to happen!

I was in the waiting room with a woman who was crying, and from eavesdropping I could tell she had had a miscarriage - I really wanted to go and hug her but thought people might find it weird being a stranger. Poor thing.

sebsmummy1 · 24/02/2014 15:28

So my surge is over and I think I felt the egg ping from my left ovary about three hours ago! My clearblue still has me on High but I can tell from the sticks (it looked peak yesterday) and from the one I did today that i can carry on pissing on sticks for the next two weeks and the monitor will just leave me on High. I usually get EWCM for about 4 days then the day i get none is the day I OV, today I have none.

So I am charting today as OV day, my 2WW begins and I know its going to be total torture.

OttersPocket · 24/02/2014 15:01

Stop it you two (I'm looking at you sebs and Penguin)! I very much doubt that it's happened this month. I can't actually visualise a time when it will happen again which sounds very doom and gloom but I'm sure you understand. Penguin, I'm not going to fishslap you so there! Time sloooows right down in the tww, it's a friggin' nightmare waiting it out.

I had to let out a snort when your consultant told you to stop with the opk's Sundance, as if us lot could ever do that. I'm feeling the need to pee on something today, you get quite used to it!

I love my new ring metalhead, I don't have it yet but when I do I'll post a picture Grin

So mini, do you think you can hold off poasing until Friday? I have a social event which, if I'm not upduffed, I'd like to have a few drinks at on Thursday so I may need special permission to poas a day early this week....

Penguin13 · 24/02/2014 14:37

Good that there were some positives from your appointment Sundance. Great news about lots of early scans and that there are no genetic issues. Pretty standard advice on the not stressing front, would be great if someone could tell you how to actually achieve that though.

I am in need of a huuuuuuuuge massive fishslap today ladies. Roughly 9 DPO, literally no symptoms, and have discovered a little pinky cm which has started my busy little mind hoping when there is no reason to. Just hit me upside the head with a massive tuna already Blush Otters on the other hand.... it's looking good.

Well done on crossing that bathroom painting off your list mini. What are you studying,

EnglishGirlAbroad · 24/02/2014 14:32

Glad that your appointment went relatively well Sundance. At least its nothing genetically wrong as you said, but i can imagine it must have been frustrating been told getting pg is the best plan! Well Duh!! Hopefully you get that bfp soon!! And at least you'll got free reign on scans!! That'll help to put your mind at ease when you do get pg!

Sundance2007 · 24/02/2014 13:07

Happy new ttc week everyone!

So just got back from my appt with a gynae consultant at the hospital...

She confirmed that I have endometriosis - and the best thing I can do is, umm, get myself pregnant! I was a bit annoyed that it wasn't very thorough, but she said my af's are odd but not abnormal under the circumstances, and she said no treatment is the best option if ttc. She also said I was putting myself under too much stress to get pg, and to stop taking opk tests (as if!!).

Relieved that there's no genetic issues, and they've done another thyroid test but otherwise we are in tip top shape to carry on.

The best news is that she gave me a sort of 'free pass' to get as many early scans at the EPU when I do get pg again, and she will be cinfirming this on records with gp - a relief really as it costs £150 where I am to do it privately.
So some good news, and some 'no news'. Not quite sure what to make if it. But I'm ovulating today so need to crack in tonight too !!

mini28 · 24/02/2014 12:20

Hi everyone! I've been a bit quiet this weekend because I've been studying hard and painting the bathroom (at last - I've been meaning to do it for months!)

Hello choccy and pickle sorry that you're here and hope you don't need to stay long, iykwim Smile

Well done sebs that is truly a sterling effort! Wink

How's the first day back at work penguin? I find that biscuits always make the day go quicker! I've just stuffed my face with a cherry bakewell, nomnom.

otters that list of symptoms looks promising! Lovely to hear about the engagement ring too.

I am 8dpo today but have had absolutely zero symptoms. Every cycle since mmc I've had odd cramps and pains from about 6dpo to af - some cycles worse than others. I think this is the first proper cycle where I haven't had anything at all yet. So, am really hoping this means I'm upduffed that whatever was causing the odd pains has now resolved itself.

Seasides · 24/02/2014 11:25

Fingers crossed metal - I was using body oil, but I've changed that now and he says the smell is stronger on my back where I can't reach with moisturising cream Confused. Eek!

Ring shopping! That must have been a fun weekend Smile Well, if you get married next spring you could have a tiny adorable page boy/flower girl in your pics Grin!

DIY central around here too, only we've got men in. A drain around the back of our house has been blocked for a fortnight apparently, but it's tucked down a side we don't see so our neighbour only got hold of us yesterday. Turns out one of our bloody friends flushed baby wipes down it - people are so dim sometimes! Also going to have to re-paint our friend's house we stay in during the week because another friend managed to explode a cafetiere of coffee all over the wall and ceiling - coffee stains, apparently...I'll be doing that one myself, but it's such a bummer.

OP posts:
Metalhead · 24/02/2014 11:15

Ah, I look back very fondly on planning my wedding - even though at the time it gave me panic attacks! Grin Hope you got a nice ring Otters.

And like sebs I also had far fewer "symptoms" when I actually was pregnant than in any other cycle, so I think less is often more. (All I had in December was mild cramping from around 10 dpo and possibly some more cm than usual).

Seasides I'm sure your DH still fancies you! Could it be something simple like you changed your shower gel or washing powder recently...?

sebsmummy1 · 24/02/2014 10:47

Ha ha awwwww I love that your parents were over the moon, that's so cool. I would like a proposal one day and know if it happens my Mum will be so excited. We have ideas (when we talked about it years ago) of disappearing abroad and getting it done. Maybe Florence or Vienna, don't really fancy doing the Caribbean thing but maybe for a honeymoon (I don't want much of I lol, no wonder DP won't ask me!!!)

OttersPocket · 24/02/2014 10:42

Spring next year I mean!

OttersPocket · 24/02/2014 10:41

DP and I told our parents and some friends yes Smile It's funny, we've been together for quite soon time now so for us it didn't really seem like news iyswim? Just an inevitable thing. But oh my goodness, were our parents thrilled!

I'd love to get married this year but we've just bought a new kitchen, we're getting major roofing works carried out and we're trying to decorate most of the house so money is ridiculously tight. So I think we will have to wait until the Spring. We did choose an engagement ring on Saturday though which was very exciting Grin

sebsmummy1 · 24/02/2014 10:33

Yep. I can remember each month researching other peoples symptoms and when my month came around I had absolutely none lol.

So I now know I am one of those creatures who has no symptoms bar increased cm in the 2ww which actually makes sense as in my successful pregnancy I didn't really have any symptoms in the first trimester!!

Fingers crossed for you chick, any exciting wedding plans yet? Did you tell you mum and dad over the weekend or did I dream that post?

OttersPocket · 24/02/2014 10:14

Oh alright then you bad enabler you! Slightly tender boobs (side area), wee bit queasy, really tired, slightly achy back. All of these could be attributed to straining myself doing DIY this weekend and drinking some wine last night though! Or to impending AF. It would be soooooooooo much easier if upduffed and AF symptoms were actually different to each other Confused
