The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Hi misshobart assume you are talking about ov test in which case you shouldn't use them first thing. I did this and never got so much as a faint line. Through the wise ladies of mumsnet I learned to use them twice a day. For the past 2 months I have tested around lunchtime and when I get home from work and had positive tests both months. I have a special pee cup which I use as the ic's tend to be thin strips and you'd need a pretty good aim!! Last month and for this month I shelled out for some POAS types to use at lunch at work-bit more expensive but less hassle. Stick use ic's at home

MissHobart · 06/02/2014 16:21

Welcome newbies! Grin

I'm CD11 but due to 30 day cycle not starting to TITH with intent until next week, just ordered IC's (internet cheapies?) off Amazon which should be here tomorrow so will start testing on Saturday, does it have to be first thing or is it after you've slept? Start nights tomorrow so not sure when I should test. Also do I now need a piss pot?! Confused

HollyBen · 06/02/2014 16:03

Welcome baxter and sebsmummy Sorry you find yourselves here. We're a supportive bunch and, despite it all, have a laugh.

sebsmummy I got my bfp a month after my 39th birthday on cycle 2 so not necessarily an issue. doesn't stop me worrying about it as I count down to the big 4 0

CD8 here gearing up for some tith tonight a la SMEP. Thankfully my cold seems to be clearing up so no need to stuff tissues up my nose first - sexy huh!

Parsley2506 · 06/02/2014 15:50

welcome baxter and sebs.
I spent a sad & bitter morning unsubscribing myself from the various email things I signed up for when I got the BFP. Unfortunately I have made it on to junk mail lists and get at least one baby related bit of post every week. It is so galling!

tea I think you, penguin and I need to form Passive Aggressive Commuters Anonymous.

sebsmummy1 · 06/02/2014 15:42

Thank you!

I haven't even told my pregnancy thread in ante natal groups what has happened, don't want to put them on a complete downer. Plus I keep getting Babycenter alerts telling me how big my foetus is getting! I can't seem to stop the bloody things. It's like everything is conspiring to make me feel as shit as possible which I know it isn't (pregnant women everywhere anyone?).

I'm trying to not be a bitter and twisted old shrew but unfortunately my face is saying different.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 06/02/2014 15:35

Welcome Sebsmummy, sorry you've found yourself here. But we are a nice bunch albeit a little mental!
All I would say is don't expect anything from this cycle, just hope for the best and make sure you've got plenty of support in real life. I hope your stay is short and sweet.

Baxter - welcome too, full of liked minded, pissed off at our bodies types here, you'll fit in fine. Hopefully this cycle will be the one for you.

Good luck and posifrickintivity all round Smile

TeaRex · 06/02/2014 15:31

Hello baxter and sebs mummy I'm new and everyone's been lovely here :)
Good luck to all those ov ing now or who are about to, tith to all followed by a cushion/pillow of your choice and good luck to any testers tomorrow!
penguin I have to walk everywhere so get massive pavement rage. People piss me off a LOT. Always too slow and getting in my way lol. I pass my time by imagining all the violent ways I could get them out of my path, but I like your passive aggressive tactics parsley. One thing I do is if being approached by two people hogging the whole pavement who show no inclination to move, I just stop in my tracks and make them walk around me, really throws them but makes me laugh.

sebsmummy1 · 06/02/2014 14:56

Thanks champagne.

I did have a scan at 6 weeks and no heartbeat was found, have another scan on Monday to check my miscarriage was complete. I had absolutely no pain and no scary times bar my initial bleed a few days after my BFP. So I do think I have got off very lightly which again helps with the psychological impact.

Just want to crack on again and feel frustrated that obviously I can't.

champagnegoldfinch · 06/02/2014 14:47

Hi Sebsmummy, sorry for your loss. You do sound in quite a positive frame of mind given that your MC was only at the weekend. I guess having that extra warning can help.

Posifrickinivity a plenty here. DH home tonight/tomorrow so hoping for a full roasting

sebsmummy1 · 06/02/2014 14:16

Hiya girls, have been recommended this thread by fedup - who is no longer fedup Grin

Brief history is I have a 14 month old son. Started TTC no.2 when he was 6 months old, finally succeeded a few weeks ago but sadly miscarried over the weekend. I think I'm pretty close to it being over now as I have no more clotting, just quarter filling a mooncup every four hours. So I suspect tomorrow will be a light period type day.

Still measuring high on hpts. I've bought a stack of them from amazon and plan on using them until I can no longer see a line. From what I've read normally ovulation is 2 weeks later? Least I'm hoping so as obviously would like to get back to TTC as soon as possible.

Mentally I feel bruised but ok. I had plenty of warming things weren't right as I bled pretty much from the word go, so I think that cushioned me slightly as my expectations of things progressing well were very low.

I'm 39 in a week btw, so feel a bit concerned that time or quality eggs are not on my side, but nothing I can do about that unfortunately.

Baxter2014 · 06/02/2014 14:12

Hello lovely ladies, I wonder if I may be able to join your thread?

I had a MC in Dec after about 6 months of TTC1 (although for 5 of those I was using KY Blush I didn't know!) Had a 27 day WTF cycle post MC which was full of PG symptoms and drove me mad. Tried the Sperm meets egg plan this cycle. AF was 5 days late and I felt pregnant. However the witch turned up with a vengeance this morning Angry. I have learnt the following from my experiences so far:

  1. I cannot trust my body or my instincts. Only a positive PG test will prove I am actually up duffed.
  2. Dreaming about being pregnant does not a pregnant lady make.
  3. Seeing 4 magpies in the park does not mean you are upduffed with a boy.
  4. Having a MC is bloody shit.
  5. Life is not fair

So can I join Grin?

Seasides · 06/02/2014 14:04

Buttered muffin! The mind boggles Wink.

I meant Wink obv. silly phone. Blush

Parsley2506 · 06/02/2014 13:42

penguin luckily my commute avoids the tube so I’ve just had to deal with about 5 billion extra people on my train from Waterloo to London Bridge. I am such a passive aggressive commuter – a slow woman was getting in my way reading her Take A Break while walking this morning, so I got just in front of her but to the side and then made sure I walked past all large immovable obstacles closely enough that she couldn’t squeeze through too in the hopes she’d bump in to something and get her sodding nose out of the magazine. Very bad but satisfying behaviour!!

sal looking good this month! FX for you

missH or should I say Miss Hornset I know exactly how you feel. After all 18 months of our ttc I almost wanted there to be a problem as at least then we could do something about it. But as others have said, it is great that everything is fine. We will get our BFPs when our bodies are ready for them.

sundance POAS tomorrow? Is anyone else POAS while we're at it?

In Parsley world, finally on CD17 I got a ‘peak’ on CBFM. So tonight, tomorrow and Sunday will be toad in the hole followed by some pig in a blanket with some buttered muffin for dessert [wink[
X your fingers for me this month please!!!

Misspositivity · 06/02/2014 10:32

sal. Sounds like a good ovulation. Fx SMEP works for you this month.
sundance do you think a BFP is lurking. Cramps and spots both common for my BFP's fx for you.
penguin so that's why I always got flashing smileys on clearblue - my poas obsession messed with it. Gave up on clearblue and bAck with IC.

Penguin13 · 06/02/2014 10:17

The positive is there's nothing wrong MissH but completely understand wanting answers.

How frustrating about the doc Sal I hope they get their act together soon. I do have textbook ovulation envy though! At CD11 it's really a bit early this cycle for me to be worrying but no sign of ov last cycle. I was very excited to get a flashing smiley on my cb ov predictor this morning only to realise that I screwed it up by using it in the pm the first day then missing a day so the levels of estrogen it was testing against would have been way lower than normal causing it to falsely measure a 'rise' :-( That'll learn me for not reading the instructions. What a waste of stupidly expensive pee sticks.

Anyone else having fun with the strikes? So far have walked 11 miles in 2 days which I have actually quite enjoyed aside from the stupid pavement-hogging slow walkers. I have to fight the urge to push them over when I get stuck behind them Blush.

Sundance2007 · 06/02/2014 10:13

Good luck with your SMEPping sal. I will be back onto it next time round too, though I a always end up ignoring the day off rule 'just incase' that's when I ov!

Still no sign if sodding af, she's messing with my head. I'm fairly certain of her impending arrival though given cramps and some horrendous outbreak of spots on my chin! Pretty, and just in time for a night out in Saturday too.

Good news though is it means my luteal phase is more normal now. How's that for posifrickintivity??

Sal1977 · 06/02/2014 08:40

I've had a beautiful temp rise this morning indicating OV yesterday, so one more shag today, day off then one for luck on Saturday. Text book SMEP this month so it better bloody work!!

Still chasing the GP for the letter from the RMC about these Heparin injections, fingers crossed they'll have it when I call them AGAIN today. It's a month since my appointment so I do understand his it takes so long to write a pissing letter!!!

Misspositivity · 05/02/2014 23:54

miss hornset. Good news you are perfect and good to go. I know we want reasons for our mc but I am of the belief I would prefer nothing is wrong with me and just shut luck.

sal. To be fair I don't think DH would notice. When I had an allergic reaction to hair dye and my face swoll up he said I just looked a bit chubby. WTF I looked like something from a horror film. Went on holiday to New York and wanted to tell everyone I am normally thinner - it's the steroids. My hair looked fab though lol.

Welcome newbies I hope you have a shorter stay than me and I leave before you Wink

JBrd · 05/02/2014 22:53

MissH Oh yes, there comes a point where you just want something to be wrong, so that it explains all the heartache and sorrow, don't you? I felt like that as well, it was almost 'Is that it'? After 3 mcs, all you can offer me is a spontaneous mutation (trisomy 2) that had nothing to do with me or DH and nothing else, other than 'Go and keep trying, good luck'. Angry
I feel guilty, but I did wish they'd find something, something that can be 'fixed' and taken care off, so that my next pregnancy would be successful, sigh.

Hope you feel more positive about it all soon - because after all, this is a positive result, and a big one!

Justonemoretime · 05/02/2014 22:49

Congrats, MissH, there's nothing wrong with me either. Its like the f*ing Shawshank of TTC after mc in here... Wink

MissHobart · 05/02/2014 22:38

Yup, I cried at something stupid yesterday, deff a sign of PG, CD10 here, I don't even OV till the end of next week! Hmm

All my results are in, and the prize for giving over 15 vials of blood?! - there's nothing wrong with me. So no answers, just back to square one and the tried and tested technique of crossing fingers.

Have felt like this Hmm Confused Angry Sad All day. Meh.

champagnegoldfinch · 05/02/2014 22:23

Haha at parsley getting suspicious over shoulder pain before ovulation.

I had a brief 'oh my goodness I am DEFINITELY nauseous' moment last week. It was CD3 Hmm. Turns you loopy this damn TTCing.

Parsley2506 · 05/02/2014 21:50

Hi amelia welcome to the funniest of tragic threads around!

I had the same thoughts after the MC about wishing I'd asked for a photo of the bean but I'm sort of glad I didn't. I think I'd obsess and weep over it constantly!

I am learning all sorts of new euphemisms here. Flower pots, wet lettuce, batter mixing. They're all great ones too!

Had pain in my right shoulder tip today and started panicking, but fish slapped myself, according to CBFM I've not even OVed yet! If I have a 14 day LP (which I used to) it should be tomorrow or Friday. Maybe it's the agnus castus that making my cycles longer??

Justonemoretime · 05/02/2014 20:53

I got a photo of my first, was never offered one of the second, paid for the third and had to get a refund Sad. I have the original picture scanned in and it was ages before I could look at it. I only did in the end because I was worried that I had damage after the ERPC and I thought the picture might give a 'before' image for comparison (it didn't). The worst bit for me was finding the print outs of the 'good' scans, seeing the hb per min, size etc. I swear I have a kind of PTSD from the bad news scans - especially the supposedly routine 13 week one the last time round. Shudder at the prospect of going through it again, and yet we're all trying, anyway. Thanks for all your support, Ladies, it really helps on the down days. May all our stays here be short.
