The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Cross post cause I take so long to type anything! Good luck with the gynae appointment. Hopefully they can provide some answers.

OttersPocket · 07/02/2014 09:30

Sebs Yes, you should tell your GP so they have a record of it. My GP had no idea I'd even been pregnant let alone mc'ed when I saw her last week. Even though I'd had an ERPC at hospital in November Hmm

Penguin13 · 07/02/2014 09:26

Luckily I have booked a day off today so no commuter raving for me Grin. Cooking for 9 people tonight so wanted some time to laze around prepare. 5 of the 9 are about to discover my SIL is 5 months pg like I should be and they don't know about the mc so I am slightly dreading any potential light-hearted 'you next' type comments.

Sundance sorry it was a BFN it's such a horrible feeling each month. Chin up tits out and do something fun and non pg friendly tonight Wine

Sebs I know how you feel. Took me 5 weeks to get a BFN which felt like an eternity, especially as I was desperate to make the most of the mythical post-mc extra fertileness I'd heard about. It's easy to say this now I'm through that stage but looking back I think I needed those 5 weeks to incessantly google when will I ovulate after mc process everything. The best thing that happened during that time was finding this bunch of lovely ladies.

sebsmummy1 · 07/02/2014 09:22

Btw do doctors need to know about mc if it's your first one? I assume it will be updated on my medical records once the EPU confirm it.

Seasides · 07/02/2014 09:21

Sorry for the bfn anyway Sundance- it'll be good to get a gynae chat in to get some answers. Hope the witch at least turns up on time to allow for the Wine.

Never did I think the term luteal phase would spark such dread in me. It's funny the things you never thought or heard about pre TTC that now are so all encompassing.

I had a short LP for a long time after my son was born. It eventually settled at 12 days, I have no idea what it was before then as I have it no consideration whatsoever!

Am dreading it going back to 9 days again.

Sundance2007 · 07/02/2014 09:11

Triple - I'm 10 days po - which I know is not a lot, but since the 2nd mc, it's been an 8 or 9 day luteal phase on average. I'll be relieved if the luteal phase is just getting back to normal - it used to be 14 days exactly.

Going out tomorrow for brother in laws birthday, last time we went out with them I was pg (and had my mc 3 days later) so I couldn't drink...will be making amends tomorrow if af doesn't arrive. But you just know the old hag is going to be late!!

Have a gynae appt in 2 weeks and they told me not to get pg before hand so they can do some proper checks...so Im not overly disappointed on the bfn this time.

Good luck to anyone else POAS today. Anyone...?

EnglishGirlAbroad · 07/02/2014 08:51

Sundance - sorry about the bfn Sad but enjoy some Wine tonight.
Parsley actually laughed out loud at the thought of pedestrian raving! Glow sticks at the ready!!

JBrd · 07/02/2014 08:45

sundance Sorry about the BFN, hope you can chill a bit over the weekend!

Good luck to everyone else who is POAS today! Hope to see you all in the pg thread soonx

Seasides · 07/02/2014 08:44

Any other lucky pee-ers?

I'm picking up that we're all Michael Schumacher walkers, and not the casual, relaxed strollers who should get their own walking lane...maybe this is what people mean when they tell us to relax!

sebsmummy I felt exactly the same - it seemed to take forever before I got a BFN (actually only about 3 weeks) but I started getting PG symptoms and thought it could be a new preg. Really messed with my head. Fx it all sorts itself soon.

Penguin Parsley good luck with your commute!

sundance sorry about you BFN. Fx for any others that are POAS today

Triplespin · 07/02/2014 08:35

penguin your commute sounds awful! We have been lucky and were not so affected. Despite all this I do like London. What I dislike the most is the commuters with backpacks refusing to take them off and shoving them in your face.

sundance rubbish about the bfn. How many dpo are you now?

Parsley2506 · 07/02/2014 08:34

Or racing even!

Parsley2506 · 07/02/2014 08:33

Sorry for the bfn sundance. Get the vino out (maybe not right now tho) and enjoy a week off

Right, about to leave the train. Ready did some penguin/English style pedestrian raving!

sebsmummy1 · 07/02/2014 08:30

It's ridiculous that I spent so long waiting to see a second line on an hpt and now I'm frustrated that im still seeing then when I want then gone! Life is weird sometimes.

Sundance2007 · 07/02/2014 08:28

Well still no sign of af but just POAS and bfn! Getting more cramps so will expect her to make an appearance at some point today. Damn it

Baxter2014 · 07/02/2014 08:27

Morning! things move quick on this fred - got to keep up!

Thank you for the warm welcome - lets hope non of us are here too long Smile

I have been getting savage PMS symptoms post miscarriage (I only ever had a few cramps the day before previously). Now I get sore boobs, ovulation cramps, cramping from ovulation onwards, bloating, tiredness, headaches, night sweats..... although this month was better than the first. I think it must be to do with the rise in hormones. I had read somewhere that its because of high progesterone and that is why the symptoms are so similar to PG symptoms (obv your progesterone is kept up high after implantation). at least now I am used to it and wont think I am miraculously up the duff cos my boobs hurt.

I feel for you Londoners - my DH worked in the city for a while last year and I bloody hated it. There are too many people and most of them are bloody slow (I walk everywhere at max speed), I spent most of my time speed walking in the gutter just to get some pace on, avoiding getting run over by taxis. And people can be so RUDE. It did not do my blood pressure any good!

so here I am back at CD2. FFS.

OttersPocket · 07/02/2014 08:01

When I lived in London I also got the commuter RAGE! I never got used to the fact that no one queued for a bus and there was just a general scrum to get on. I was always Shock In Edinburgh everyone always strictly queues in order and there is genuine Angry and much muttering under breath if anyone fails to acknowledge the correct bus etiquette! And WTAF is with people reading books as they walk along a street?!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 07/02/2014 07:07

I'm with you on the competitive passive-aggressiveness Penguin. When I worked in London, I was full of rage at all the book reading, slow walkers! Casually muttering 'get out my fucking way' just loud enough that they might hear. Wink

Penguin13 · 06/02/2014 22:57

I might be crap at incubating babies but I can overtake other pedestrians!

Tonight was a particularly rubbish commute. Left office at 7, just got in. Ugh. Good job I like walking!

Good luck POAS party people for tomorrow! Bring on the BFPs.

sebsmummy1 · 06/02/2014 22:40

PMSL penguin Grin

Penguin13 · 06/02/2014 22:16

Totally on board with the passive-aggressive commuters club. To my shame I am quite competitive so have a little game where I have to catch up to the commuter in front of me when walking up the escalator. I also nominate people to overtake on the street Blush and feel a burst of satisfaction when I power past them. Oh dear!

Penguin13 · 06/02/2014 22:05

Argh! Have actually been doing some work for a change and missed loads! Welcome newbies.

Massive unmumsnet style hugs Otter. Being sad, angry and upset doesn't make you a bad person, it makes you a human, and one who's gone through some horrible experiences at that. When I start to feel bad about my reactions to things like this I try to imagine what I'd say to a close friend if they were feeling like that. We're often so much kinder to others than we are to ourselves.

Seasides · 06/02/2014 21:24

I totally get it too otter - it would be nice if everyone else could just quit getting pg until we've got there first! Massive Envy Having a beer in my pjs to cheer myself up.

Doc's agreed I can have my FSH and Oestradiol checked too, so that's good. Can't do it this AF as we're away for Valentine's, but next one for sure. Just want to rule everything out - particularly the blocked tubes, that's what I'm most worried about. Glad yours are all clear triple, that must be a relief.

Can't really post in the office but been reading on my phone - my acupuncturist got me worried that my hormone levels were wack (turns out we were reading the chart wrong) but it really panicked me that something was actually wrong. I think I'd felt a bit like you missH, that it would be good to know what the problem was, but now I'm desperately hoping it's all fine, because then I might actually be able to get pg each month, rather than having to wade through the NHS's treacle slow treatment schedules.

Baxter - totally get you with the symptoms. Been imagining nausea for three days now, fully aware it's psychosomatic.

Oh otters,I totally get how you feel. Although I'm fairly confident neither BIL & SIL or my Sister will announce pregnancies soon, all of my best friends bar one announced their pregnancies as I was miscarrying. It's horrific! It stirs up all the pain and 'that should be me' feelings. My only saving grace is that I'm abroad and don't have to see their growing bumps or hear their constant baby chat.
I'm sure it will get easier, but right now allow yourself to wallow and feel a bitEnvy and Sad, it's normal.
Sending you a big un-mn hug!
