The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Fingers crossed both of us have a happy result Sal despite icky coloured cm!!
Fuck off witch, you're not welcome!!

Sal1977 · 17/02/2014 09:16

Welcome Minky sorry you lost your baby. It's shit!!

Be prepared to have shocking days but post on here (we love gruesome details about the physical side - sick lot we are), but you'll have good days and piss yourself laughing at some of the shite we talk about!! It'll help get you through!

Had to see the GP this morning about our letter from the consultant. He was sooo lovely! Gave me a prescription for the Heparin so I can start taking it as soon as I get upduffed and said he's happy for my MW friend to show me how to use it, so feeling better about that side of things!

English we're date twins at the moment. 12dpo here as well and I think AF may be on the way to visit as I had a tiny bit of funny coloured CM yesterday. Fucksticks. Did textbook smeping this month so feeling a bit gutted about it.

Oh well, onwards and upwards. In some ways as time goes on it does get easier to cope with but on dark days its worse. If you know what I mean.

I think I'm probably the longest standing member here joining in April last year....?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 17/02/2014 08:29

It's a new week people, time for positivity. DH has for once managed to time being poorly with AF so hopefully he'll be good to go in a few days ;) I'm off to punch things in about half an hour (always good) and on Thursday I'm off to see my old best chum from school and her little baby boy. I will not cry (until I get home) and I will NOT drink any wine (might have a beer to reward myself for getting through it). It will be fine.
It's half term - everything's awesome (not trying to convince myself at all!).

deuscat · 17/02/2014 08:23

Missp I hope you're feeling better today. Sorry to hear you've been feeling so low.

Welcome minks. sorry for your loss, but hopefully you'll find support with us here. We started trying again straight away but no joy. Onto cycle 2 now. I'd say take the pressure off yourselves if you can and just see what happens. I drove myself insane in my first cycle post mc cos there were a lot of fake pregnancy symptoms which really got my hopes up and messed with my head. I'm obsessive too!

Sebs I'm sorry you're having a tough time at the moment. It's really such an awful thing to go through but for me I am noticing my sad days are getting fewer and fewer over time. But I'll never forget our little life we lost. You'll get there.

sebsmummy1 · 17/02/2014 07:57

Hiya Minks, so sorry you are here but just get posting as everyone is so lovely xxx

I don't want to see anyone either. I'm avoiding quite a few places and an awful lot of people. Most of them know what has happened through text or messaging but I still don't want to see them and deal with the elephant in the room. Crazy.

Well I think this WTF cycle may see my period arrive first as I really have nothing tangible going on down there. The only thing I am now noticing is slightly sore boobs. I thought I was coping quite well but the reality is I'm not. I keep crying at the drop of a hat and the first thing I think about when I wake up is the mc. It's miserable.

Hoping that once I get start chatting OV again I may start feeling more in control.

Parsley2506 · 17/02/2014 07:50

Hi minks so sorry you're joining the gang but glad you found us.
I didn't really pay much attention to my WTF cycle as I was still getting my head around the loss. We did attempt to start ttc mid cycle but stopped as I couldn't get through it without bursting in to tears (poor MrP, lucky I didn't give him performance anxiety!).
My GP and the midwife at EPU both said it's better to wait for one period, but then both also said that's only to help them with dating. It's therefore really up to you and what feels right.

CD27 here. The witch is almost certainly on the horizon, the only symptoms I have are feeling hot over night, spots and grumpiness. No boob soreness or anything remotely pg related.

I've not seen any of my RL friends bar my BFF since before Christmas. I have genuinely turned in to a hermit.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 17/02/2014 07:36

Hi minks,
Sorry you've found yourself here. It's thoroughly crap. I hope you have lots of support at home and are looking after yourself.
I would just do what feels right for you. Some women ovulate very soon after the bleeding, I personally don't think I ovulated in that first cycle.
I hope your stay with us is a short one. Smile

I'm 12 dpo now and after my slightly excited rant about my cervix I know getting very AF like cramps and (tmi warning) browny cm when I'm prodding around up there. Think the witch is on her way Hmm

Minkymooks · 16/02/2014 23:32

Hello,
New to mumsnet (apart from a peek at that hysterical penis beaker thread that a mate told me about!) but found myself on here for last few weeks just lurking and laughing and/or crying at your threads!

I am in similar boat - had mc at 8+6 on 25th jan - was lucky to get pregnant on first cycle, had a scan at 6 weeks (pain ?ectopic) and all well, saw heartbeat, but then bled (not loads) but scan confirmed incomplete mc. Bled for 7 days then stopped. Had a f/u scan a week ago and poss still a little bit there. Advised medical or expectant management is ok. No need for ERCP.

Now waiting for AF - told it could be heavy in view of above. Just eager to get on with things. Have people waited until after their next period to ttc? We have dtd a few times but no idea if I have ovulated. (Can usually tell). Is that a bad idea if still "incomplete". Finally had neg preg tests. Can you use the ovulation kits immediately post mc?

Would have been my 12wk scan tomorrow. Wishing we were back where we were a few weeks ago - full of plans and names and hopes. Not sure I have much patience and I have a tendency to get a bit obsessive so not sure whether to start with the counting and ov kits etc or whether to chill and drink wine and shag a lot!!

Anyways waffling now. Hello, hope I can join the party

Minks xx

Misspositivity · 16/02/2014 20:40

seb I am glad I am not alone. Though think a cotton bud would be cheaper then a tampon so might switch. Might have to tie two cotton buds together.

Things aren't great with me. Keep bursting into tears and haven't left the house all weekend. Felt like a mope DH wants me to stop putting myself under so much pressure. Oh well just have to get one with it. Am sure AF is on its way just wish it would hurry up so I could start again.

sebsmummy1 · 16/02/2014 20:23

I am terrible for waggling a cotton bud up there and seeing what I can find Blush. It's a terrible habit and one I wish I hadn't started to be honest.

Misspositivity · 16/02/2014 19:18

Hey everyone. Hope you had a fab valentines xxx

I have been very quiet trying to distract myself in 2ww. Looks like a few of us willing be poas on Friday or before

I am 7dpo and cramps twinges very sore boobs. I have a 10 day luteal phase so either AF is on its way.

sal have you thought of doing my tampon trick and seeing what else is up there????

EnglishGirlAbroad · 16/02/2014 19:10

To be fair it would have to be practically hanging out if was that low!! GrinShock

Parsley2506 · 16/02/2014 18:46

One knuckle deep in the ol' fanjolina? I don't think mine's ever been that low! Have I got a bucket flowerpot?

EnglishGirlAbroad · 16/02/2014 18:23

I've become weirdly obsessed with checking it... So have kind of figured out when it's low or high.
Saw an article online one knuckle in is low, 2 medium and 3 is high - gives you a rough idea. Thinks it's a case of practise makes perfect!

Glad you enjoyed your cuddles... But I'm sure it makes your desire for your own even stronger. Even when I see strangers babies I go all mushy!!

Parsley2506 · 16/02/2014 18:06

Ok seriously, this is for you cervix checkers - how the hell do you tell the difference? I've had a rummage from time to time but as far as my fingers can discern it always feels like a meaty little nubbin. How have you trained yourselves to spot the difference? Am I just not rummaging often enough?

Spent a happy afternoon with my BFF and her gorgeous 4 week old. Really really really want my own one now please.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 16/02/2014 17:34

I'm in the crazy camp too sal. Just checked my cervix... Lovely and high and tightly closed. Must be pg!! Ha! Someone aim the semi automatic trout gun at me! Wink

Sal1977 · 16/02/2014 17:10

Had a tiny bit of funny coloured CM today (cos I know you all wanted to hear that). My fucked up bit of the brain says IB. My normal brain says AF is on her way. 11 dpo here, so either could be possible!

Bollocks.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 16/02/2014 16:32

Seasides - not really - throwing myself into crazy races is my coping strategy. Every month I hope I'm going to have to contact the race organisers and say can I defer as I'm pregnant. Not happened yet :(

Seasides · 16/02/2014 16:04

Wow donna - way to show me and my pyjama party up Wink Blush !

Just been googling private HyCoSy scans. In the only clinic I can find in Edinburgh it's £750 (HSG), and in London they're around £200. That'll be a weekend away then...

DoctorDonnaNoble · 16/02/2014 14:52

So, nothing exciting here either. AF well and truly here now but I ended up running 8 miles in the end, so that's good. Me and DH will be running the Bath Half Marathon in a couple of weeks time so that means a night away in a hotel at about the right time Grin

EnglishGirlAbroad · 16/02/2014 14:47

Hey ladies, I've been AWOL the last few days! In the midst of tww and bored as hell! No symptoms. Slight temp drop yesterday at 10dpo, it rose again today.... Here's hoping. Although I think AF will make an appearance. Surly if I was pg the sore boobs would have kicked in by now... Hmm
Hope you have a lovely time away penguin, a trip away should speed up the tww! Smile

deuscat · 16/02/2014 14:43

I've also been quiet due to lack of excitement for me. Gearing up towards ov now though as I spotted some ewcm today. Been reading and chuckling along though!

Penguin have a great trip.

Seasides · 16/02/2014 14:28

Hi all, sorry I've been silent but all is quiet on the seaward front, nowt to report. Been chuckling away at wombles and weapons of mass fishtruction though!

Having the most awesome Sunday ever - we're away on Orkney, and still in bed watching sitcoms with rain lashing the windows Grin

Have a great trip penguin, enjoy the free buffet at least (and one glass can't hurt...)

OP posts:
Parsley2506 · 16/02/2014 12:22

Have a great break peng, sort of a shame it's 2ww but you can probably allow yourself a sneaky glass of lovely french wine here and there... Smile

Penguin13 · 16/02/2014 10:17

That was a funny auto-correct. His flights were over-priced not over-excited!
