Anyone get sore boobs immediately after ovulation??

Hello. I had a mmc in Sept at 10 weeks. We've been ttc ever since with no luck.

Since the mc I've had sore boobs every month after ovulation. The pain is to the sides and underneath (almost where the underwire is).

What I really wanted to know is if anyone else gets this and whether it's a sign of a hormonal imbalance?

Thank you!

Hello
Is it possible to have sex on the you ovulated and not get pregnant?

Serendipity92x · 01/01/2019 17:39

I literally had sore boobs straight after I thought I ovulated which was very unusual for me as I only ever get sore boobs a few days before my AF (not every cycle though) and the pain never went away. Instead the pain got worse and the pain continued until I had my CP. If something is unusual then chances are you're pregnant.

Hi all,

Been posting on here a lot recently! Apologies! I’ve got really tender boobs and have done immediately (what I think is) following ovulation. I’m scared because last time I got my period as normal and I’m about three DPO but we DTD during my fertile window so surely it’s early too early to be a pregnancy symptom? I had it before and came on so now feel a bit down :(

@BabySpringer did you reply to this old post last week?!

BabySpringer · 05/04/2018 20:56

Remarried my new man refuses to do sperm count. He has no kids...am 40 as well it could be maybe too late. Am waiting patiently....anyone else in this boat??

Any luck bumpforme2014 or luckystar1??

lorettaboretz · 15/06/2015 00:30

DevonLoch, no apologies! Fascinates me too.
I used to get randomly sore boobs 10-3 days before period but the last few months theyve been getting more painful from the day of ovulation. Not sure exactly whats kicked off the change though.
been ttc for 24 months, so no change there =[
had prog levels tested recently and apparently all fine there.
Hoping that maybe its my body experimenting with hormones to gear myself up for change but not holding my breath on that one Lol.
However, i have ALSO heard it can commonly be a sign of Oestrogen dominance. Not sure where to go from here ttc wise though, beg for more investigations/blood tests or continue to see if nature takes its course.
Anybody else have strange changes a few months before conception??

DevonLoch · 01/02/2014 18:31

As far as I can work out, it can be a sign of a hormone imbalance. One Chinese doc told me it was a sign of oestrogen dominance and instructed me to rub in natural progesterone cream starting several days before ovulation, to try to balance the hormones. It worked wonders. The pain lessened and boob pain only started several days before period as opposed to just after ovulation. I had only started getting problems with boob pain after a miscarriage which came right at the early days of TTC. But I am talking really bad boob pain. I couldn't run. Interestingly when I was doing IuI and Ivf, the boob pain would get really bad during stimulation and the doctors told me it was the oestrogen levels. But confusingly it is also a sign of progesterone as boob pain is a common sign of pregnancy. But I have never had agonising boob pain during my pregnancies.
Personally for me I don't think boob pain is a good sign especially when it comes straight after ovulation and since my last ivf, I have been getting pain before ovulation now and so am back on the progesterone cream to help balance everything out again. Bloody annoying as I never had any of these troubles before TTC .
But clearly mAny people still get pregnant even if they do get pain so this isn't why I suddenly had problems TTC after my first miscarriage. (Sorry for the long ramble. This subject fascinates me...sadly!!)

I can tell you that sore boobs are utterly random.

When I fell pregnant with DD my boobs were sore a few days before OV and then throughout the first trimester.

This pregnancy I've only had sore boobs since about 10 weeks. Nothing at all pre or post OV prior to my BFP.

I'm not sure you can read too much into it.

But very good luck! :-)

BumpNGrind · 01/02/2014 12:27

I'm really interested in this conversation as my boobs get so sore immediately after ovulation. It actually gets a little bit better as af gears up. I've read that its linked to progesterone but i don't know how and i don't know if that's a good thing. My luteal phase is quite short too so maybe that has an impact. Arrrghh this ttc lark is hard work. Someone give me the great news of their bfp to cheer me up!

Bumpforme2014 · 01/02/2014 10:44

Any news?

smorgasborgen · 30/01/2014 15:25

congratulations!
I get sore boobs but only since mc. I never knew if this was as ov was gearing up t happen or just after? worried I've missed window now Hmm Hmm

Luckystar1 · 29/01/2014 19:04

Thank you luckystar I hope you get your BFP as well so we can go through this together!

PirateJelly · 29/01/2014 18:34

I also get sore boobs straight after ovulation anything from a few hours to the next day (confirmed by opk's and bbt) they then get progressively more sore upto 8/9dpo and then it starts to wear off before being almost unnoticeable by the day af arrives. Sometimes it's the tops, sometimes the sides and underneath, sometimes nipples too but not always Confused

Also boobs fill out considerably and are known to go up as much as a cup size Grin

When I was pregnant my sign was that my breast pain continued past 8/9dpo and were still very sore the day af was due, that was a major signal to me that I might be pregnant.

Luckystar1 · 29/01/2014 18:24

I did a digital 3 days before af was due and got a positive. Don't start worrying, enjoy this little bit of time you have knowing what only you know!!!

It is of absolutely no consolation to you, but mc while 'common' are not as common as a healthy pregnancy. Please don't stress.

Bumpforme2014 · 29/01/2014 18:02

Thank you, i can't even be happy because I'm so shocked and I can't tell anyone DH is at work until later! I want to do digital but scared in case it says no because it's not as sensitive is it. I know it's so early days though as you know too well and my sister had a miscarriage so that scares me so much. Am I suppose to go to the doctor now??

Luckystar1 · 29/01/2014 17:55

Yeh!!! Go you! A line is a line as they say!! I had a good feeling for you!

Everything crossed for you for the coming months! It'll all be ok!

Bumpforme2014 · 29/01/2014 17:40

Errrrrrrrm okay I caved and just tested, I got a line on cheapie but wasn't convinced so tested on super drug brand and got a line on that one as well. Errrrm I'm very shocked and I still don't believe it I'm so scared. TTC number one for few months now.....help!

Luckystar1 · 29/01/2014 10:08

I didn't feel pregnant either when I got my bfp, just had weird boobs! Fx for you this month! Are you ttc#1? How long have you been trying?

OP posts:
Bumpforme2014 · 29/01/2014 08:31

Luckystar it's only a matter of time for your BFP especially since you have had a BFP before! I am 14dpo today but unsure when AF is really due, going off luteal phase being 14-16 for most it should come any day now and I am resisting testing until weekend as I get so very sad with BFNs. Don't feel bloated or any cramping yet so don't think it will be today, don't feel pregnant either but then I don't know what that feels like. All I know is temperature is still up and I haven't slept well for weeks now.

Luckystar1 · 29/01/2014 07:38

Aww bump, that's very sweet, thank you. You are right of course, I just wish I could get my bfp and for it all to be ok. It has somewhat dampened pregnancy for me.

But onwards and upwards. Your boob situation sounds promising! Sore boobs was my (and many others) first sign of pregnancy. How many dpo are you?

Bumpforme2014 · 28/01/2014 22:11

Oh and can I just say another thing coz what you said about your body letting you down made me sad, it wasn't your body letting you down it was the opposite - your body saying it wasn't right this time, next time will be the one. I know this offers no comfort and I don't know what it's like to go through it but I just felt need to make you see your body is as capable as any other woman and don't ever think otherwise :-) x

Bumpforme2014 · 28/01/2014 22:07

Oh and sorry to hear about your mc at ten weeks, must have been so difficult for you :-(.

Bumpforme2014 · 28/01/2014 22:05

Thanks luckystar I am determined to be preggars this year, I've waited all my life for a baby!! My pain is all over the breast but nothing on nipple. I read pain at sides of breasts are common in ovulation but not sure if them feeling heavy and sore all over is normal or not for me to be honest I just know I feel huge! Lol
