Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

I know fankle, I really do. I can tell you're low.are you not getting iui soon? Maybe a new step will revitalise you? It's crushing month after month. I feel like that so have started to book loads of other things in, hols, weekend away, party at mine etc as I can't have this being the centre of my existence (obv deep down it is) & weirdly acting that I'm not obsessed is making me a little less obsessed.

When I win the lottery I'm buying ivf for us all, or a baby Grin from some random country!

Wow! Who knew?!
But I reckon my prolactin must be much higher now- not through nipple stimulation but through the sheer stress of long term ttc!!!!!!!!

I was quite low yesterday as I just know there's no chance this cycle. I found myself wondering how much more of this I can take. I have no idea how people cope through years and years of infertility- Im just over 2.5 years and I feel like its taken over my life.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 29/04/2014 15:44

Wow, that is amazing!

bornoffrustration you're most welcome here, hope you're ok, keep us up dated. sebs & tranquility, thinking of you guys...

fankle my levels on 2 occasions were just under 900 so yours are high but ok (can be caused by stress (ttc) or nipple stimulation (ttc) Confused

Hear hear Inshock and Ginger, I think that's unanimous for you to stay Tranquility!! Smile

Bornof, you didn't steam in at all and you're most welcome - how are you getting on?

Stubborn, I know - amazing isn't it!!! I'd never heard of it before she said it.

stubbornstains · 29/04/2014 14:46

I asked the Consultant and she was very sincere that the chance of reduced fertility is only slight because the remaining tube will float between ovaries.

Shock in awe at our ingenious bodies!

Stay tranquility- if it helps you!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 29/04/2014 13:21

Please stay with us tranquility, this process is grim lets be honest, not the joyous occasion it should be, so at least we can cheer each other on or hold each others hands. We're in it together.

Quick post, back later x

Stay Tranquility you're part of this group! Everyones experiences on here, happy and sad, are so valuable to the rest of us. xx

Tranquilitybaby · 29/04/2014 11:53

Thanks people, I don't want to leave.

If I can help anyone else, I will so ask away if you have any questions. Briefly cried on DH's shoulder today and we tried to talk about things. He said he spent 2 hours pacing up and down, whilst I was in theatre and doesn't want to go through that again, which I can understand but I'm struggling with how I feel, I can't just switch it off.

BornOfFrustration · 29/04/2014 11:33

Sorry tranquility, it's me steaming in from being a lurky lurker, not you. I just saw the similarities and came bounding in because I don't know anyone else this has happened to. I hope you get looked after you until you heal and start feeling better Flowers

sebsmummy1 · 29/04/2014 11:29

*Progressing successfully

sebsmummy1 · 29/04/2014 11:28

Oh Tranquility you poor poor love. You have not bought worry to this thread at all. All you did was give me the kick up the arse I needed to get to the doctors and whilst I think it's a chemical, we don't know, and much rather be safe than sorry.

In my last TTC thread there was a lady who joined who had lost her tube due to ectopic and she conceived more easily than me and this pregnancy is preg reading successfully for her. So the future is indeed bright, but I'm sure if it feels anything but at the moment. Huge hugs xx

KEGirlOnFire · 29/04/2014 11:16

Born, I get so bloody frustrated when the so-called 'experts' do NOT listen - we know our damn bodies - we know when something isn't right!!! You will have more personal experience than (probably) they will have had. I really hope it turns out Ok for you. The brown stringy stuff is what I had on and off over the two weeks that they were testing my bloods. Even now they don't know whether mine was ectopic or not because I MCd naturally in the end, but having had a Lap & Dye back in November, it showed no blockages or issues with the tubes.

SebsMummy, any news hun? Are you OK?

Tranquility, please don't leave us unless it would help YOU. I've found more support through being on MN forums than in RL and I, for one, don't feel like you should leave this thread, I'm sure we'd all like to continue supporting you.

I would start another thread about the chances of conceiving with one tube. When I thought that's what I had, I asked the Consultant and she was very sincere that the chance of reduced fertility is only slight because the remaining tube will float between ovaries. I remember specifically her saying that it would make sense that fertility is reduced by 50% with only one tube, but she said it was much higher than 50%.

HTH Hun. xxxxx

Tranquilitybaby · 29/04/2014 10:56

born I was adamant I was 6 weeks too but they said I could only be 2 at most which was impossible. Keep on at them, especially with you experiencing it before.

inshock I hope your levels drop quickly so you can love in. Sorry to hear that.

Think in probably best to move off this thread now, I feel like I've brought a lot of worry to it and it's supposed to be about positivity.

Physically, I'm getting there, I'm home now, sore and emotionally very up and down. Had to tell my 12 year old daughter this morning as she knew something was being kept from her and refused to go to school, plus told my close friends who were worried what was going on. Feel better for doing that and have had a good cry on and off. I'm just so heartbroken and sad. So needed a boost this year, after the crappy start.

I need to find out some info about conceiving again and how big the risks really are. Doctor was very positive about it but the info booklets they gave me aren't. Any idea were I can get some accurate info?

Thanks for your support girls x

BornOfFrustration · 29/04/2014 10:50

I think mine is, just because it is the same as last time, although my hcg levels are a lot less than they were. They were in the hundreds last time and doubling over 72 hours not 48. I can only hope it has resolved itself and the numbers go down. I've had a small amount of brown stringy bleeding, but nothing since.

Quack theory alert!
I had reflexology last weekend and when I stood up afterwards I felt something twang around my ovary area. I mentioned it and she said my fallopian tubes felt 'gritty' so I wonder if it got moved along.

When do you go back for another hcg test, can't scroll up because my phone won't let me, sorry. How do you feel? It's a horrible situation being in limbo .

sebsmummy1 · 29/04/2014 10:30

Oh my god Born this is crazy. Do you think it's ectopic or chemical? I'm so sorry you're going through this too. Do you have any bleeding?

BornOfFrustration · 29/04/2014 10:27

I lurk on here sometimes and just seen I'm in the positive after a peiod boat with sebsmummy.

Sorry about your ectopic tranquility, I've had one and it's very difficult to get your head around.

I was sure I was pregnant a few weeks ago, then I had a period. I had a strange impulse to do a test at the weekend (bleeding gums) and the little faint line came up. My only thought was 'oh fuck' because I've had an ectopic pregnancy in the past and the timeline was the same.

I managed to get a scan and bloods yesterday due to my history, but the epu are still congratulating me because my bloods are at 90 and I'm in early pregnancy according to them

I go back on Wednesday for more blood, but I hate the waiting around. I know what's going on with me, I just wish they'd listen. I don't actually know what they can do about it without any proof but I know they don't believe that I should be 6 weeks pregnant .

sebsmummy1 · 29/04/2014 10:05

I'm sorry you went through the same Ginger Sad

Once I'm out the other side of this I am going to go back to ask for my Progesterone levels to be tested (they refused this the first time) and if they say no again I'm going to ask for a referral to have it tested privately. If low levels of progesterone are preventing these eggs from sticking then I'm hoping I can get suppositories prescribed for the first trimester.

Fankletastic · 29/04/2014 09:25

Sorry to hear that Sebsmummy. It just shows that sometimes you really have to kick up a fuss to be taken seriously. It's really worrying that they can stand by and do nothing when you have something potentially very dangerous going on.

Ginger- sorry the fucker showed up. What were your prolactin levels if you don't mind me asking? I'm just looking at my day 21 results from a year ago and my prolactin was in normal range but towards the high side (452 when top range is 496). I'd sort of disregarded it but now wondering if this indicates a problem. Hmm

Gingerbreadlady1 · 28/04/2014 18:04

inshock I'm on month 5 of 6 of clomid to make me ovulate, 21 day bloods confirm prog ok but not great. It's the 21 day bloods that have shown the prolactin issue. So chuffed you feel you're getting something from the Accupuncure, whatever helps is worth a bash!

I'm so sorry it wasn't a sticky bean sebsmummy, I had similar in oct & also wonder why it didn't stick. I guess something wasn't quite right. You sound like you're coping brilliantly.

So sorry Tranquility , thinking of you.

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2014 17:23

I am ok emotionally inshock. I'm so do glad I didn't get a positive hpt before I bled out, that would have really upset me, and yep you are right re. miscarriage levels being high at my age. Par for the course.

I have been learning so much so thought is update again so it can help people reading this.

I did a bit of research on ectopic just so I was more clued up re. the blood tests snd what the levels would possibly look like if they were looking that way.

I then rung the EPAU back to talk about my blood test results and how the one sided pain I started the day with was still there (very much could be Pilates related. She said that they could not scan until the hormones level reached 1000. So even if I was showing every sign of ectopic, if my levels were under 1000 they wouldn't do anything.

I said to her that what happens if I start to bleed the purple coloured blood they talk about. Would they still leave it? She said then they might get one of the gynaes to do a speculum examination and would go from there.

So it really does sound as though there is very little that they can or will do to be precautionary when it comes to ectopic. It seems that they generally just wait and wait and wait - I guess until you end up in A&E or the blood results give the go ahead to scan. I find it pretty frightening. I am just hoping my blood test goes down on Wednesday and we can get back to TTC.

Inshock73 · 28/04/2014 16:37

Really sorry to hear that Sebsmummy xx Unfortunately the mc rate does go up with age, I know that won't be any comfort to you but I guess I'm just trying to say it doesn't mean your body is letting you down it just means the chances of mc are higher.

sebsmummy1 · 28/04/2014 16:11

Just an update girlies. Doctor rang back, meekly lol, to say I have hcg levels of 66 so we are assuming I had an early mc (his words). I'm having follow up bloods on Wednesday and Friday just to make sure things are going down not up.

Do assuming it was a chemical, why the hell is my body not letting any egg stick?

Inshock73 · 28/04/2014 13:56

Hi Ginger Yep the witch got me too also on Saturday. Had a 13/14 day LP this month as opposed to my usual 11/12 days so wondering if the acupuncture is having an effect. Had another needle session on saturday, have to admit I'm loving it, focus on saturday was to cleanse as it was day 1 of cycle, next appointment on day 12 to give OV a boost. Had a day 3 blood test this morn, hoping it comes back fine but at the same time I want to know why it's just not happening. Have you had the day 21 blood test? That one tells you whether you ovulated that month and whether your progesterone levels are higher enough to sustain a pregnancy.

Totally agree with you KEGirl everyone's having a tough month, my thoughts are still with you Tranquility and keep us posted Sebsmummy
