Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

Well I think it's time for me to come into this coop if you'll have another old hen in the pecking order!

Hello Ginger and Fankle from Clomid thread - thank you for starting this thread Ginger, it's great and definitely the place for me to be.

Fankle - brilliant to see your BFP photo below Grin.

Now I'll bore you with my story: I'm 40, DH is 44. I just didn't meet the right guy until I was 38. We've been trying for our first since July 2012 and got pregnant quite quickly but mc in Nov 2012 (blighted ovum at 8w+5d). Tests done, all ok, DH's tests OK. I was told to 'keep trying' in April 2013 but wish I'd pushed for Clomid then. Started on Clomid in Jan 2014 and was amazing to get a BFP after 3rd round in March 2014 but sadly ended with another blighted ovum at 8w+5d again last week so currently going through mc and waiting to start on Clomid again next after menstrual period.

Will take a few weeks to recover from this mc but determined to accept nature's reasoning and go for it again soon.

Thanks Inshock!

Re the laidback approach, I can vouch for that! With DS1 we tried for 9 months, and we were massive health freaks during this period and gave up everything: Alcohol, caffeine, hot baths, etc. I got a bit obsessive and even banned DH from wearing tight underwear! Blush When it didn't happen I though F it and went on a bit of a bender of unhealthyness and that's when we conceived. I am determined to put less pressure on myself this time round!

Karmanna13 · 06/05/2014 11:47

Congratulations Fankle!

And welcome Irma! I'm another newbie! Nice to have some support - I found TTC very stressful last time round. I am also on the OPK sticks and I wouldn't worry about not pinpointing DTD on the actual O day - before and after also gives you a good chance so FX! xx

Inshock73 · 06/05/2014 11:41

Welcome to the coop Karma and Irma Your not alone Irma I can guarantee my DP will be up for it all month until we get to those few precious days and then he'll be stressed out and working late! Almost guaranteed!

Fankle That's a lovely bright BFP! :) My DP and I were discussing things last night, I'm obsessed whereas he has a laid back approach and is convinced if it's meant to happen it will (this is on the back of another chat about consuming caffeine and small amounts of alcohol) your BFP is making me think perhaps he's right. :)

spinningirl10 · 06/05/2014 11:31

Wow that's fab Fankle and goes to show it only takes once. Really happy for youGrin

Welcome Irma and good luckGrin

irma77 · 06/05/2014 11:20

I've just seen that BFP tests, congratulations Fankletastic !!!

irma77 · 06/05/2014 11:15

Hi everybody, is there any more room in the coop for another (probably non laying) hen?

I've been lurking in this thread for a while, and today I decided to stop being creepy and join in.

I'm 36 and DP is 44 and TTC #1 since January, but I only had 2 very long cycles, I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20s. At the moment we are not following any treatment, my GP told us to keep trying a bit longer.

I started to use OPK this cycle and I got a possitive one on CD21, although with PCOS you never know, but it was followed by, what I believe, ovulation pain, so will see.

DP partner is really stressed at work, and we are about to move to another part of the country, so we only managed to dtd the day before the +opk and 2 days afterwards, so not getting my hopes to high. A bit gutted my seduction skills weren't powerfull enough during the big O day :(

A this stage of the game I'll be happy to detect ovulation signs and shorter cycles.

Well, that's my story. Good luck to everyone!

Fankletastic · 06/05/2014 09:32

spinnng I think we only just caught my ovulation day...very late at night. I'd got a positive opk the day before (Wednesday) and I didn't see DH until after midnight on the Thursday (so technically Friday). We'd last dtd early Monday morning before he left for his work trip. So really it was only twice during my fertile week. That's why I thought we didn't stand a chance this cycle as we usually dtd every other day during the fertile week.

Good luck for this cycle!

spinningirl10 · 06/05/2014 09:26

Hi Karma and welcome.

Sorry to hear of your eptoic. This is a lovely friendly supportive group.

spinningirl10 · 06/05/2014 09:23

Fankle, you must be so excited!
Interesting to hear you didn't get to dtd much. Do you know how close to ov you managed it? Sorry to be nosey but I always think you have to be at it loads and we never seem to manage it as often as I would like! It really is a lottery isn't it getting that bfpGrin

sebsmummy1 · 05/05/2014 20:38

That's a lovely clear BFP, congratulations xxx

Fankletastic · 05/05/2014 20:17

This is for Ginger

thank you everyone for all the support and good wishes! I am still in shock I think as I honestly thought this cycle was out as DH had to work away during my fertile week.

Fankletastic · 05/05/2014 20:14

Glad you are feeling a little better Tranquility. You've had a tough week. I think that's a lovely gesture with the rosebush and lanterns.

Tranquilitybaby · 05/05/2014 19:52

Thanks karma xx

Seb - I feel a bit better today thank you, less tearful and more optimistic for the future. Let us know your results when you get them, thinking of you xx

sebsmummy1 · 05/05/2014 19:48

Welcome karma. So sorry to hear about your ectopic Sad. Hope that won't create any problems for you with TTC#2 xx

Ginger I'm fine thank you. Been to the zoo today with my family, weather was beautiful. Just very lightly spotting. The doctor will rung me tomorrow to either tell me the numbers went up or went down. It's irrelevant either way now but I would be interested to know where my numbers peaked as they are obviously on there way down again now.

I have right days till AF is due. Will be interesting to see if my body hangs on till then to bleed properly.

Tranquility, how you doing today? Xx

stubbornstains · 05/05/2014 19:37

(does at happy little dance at fankle's news). Grin

Karmanna13 · 05/05/2014 13:38

Thanks Tranquility and sorry to hear about your ectopic. Feel free to ask for advice and I'll answer as best as I can! xx

Tranquilitybaby · 05/05/2014 13:35

Hi karma welcome to our group. I've just had an ectopic too sadly so I may well be asking for advice of that's ok? Good luck with TTC xx

Karmanna13 · 05/05/2014 13:31

Hey, can I join please? I'm 36 later this month and have just started ttc for #2. DS is 2 years old. I live in Sweden with my English DH.

Had an ectopic pregnancy 3 months after DS was born, am now left with one tube so fear ttc may be lengthy. It took 9 months of ttc with DS1.

Would be nice to have someone to chat to as I enter into the very frustrating ttc stage yet again! May it be short for us all!

spinningirl10 · 05/05/2014 11:28

Oh Fankle what fantastic news, Congratulations!!!

Tranquilitybaby · 05/05/2014 10:43

Sorry AF arrived spinning xx

I feel a bit better today, I've relived all the days so far in the lead up to it being a week since it happened and now I'm here. We planted a beautiful white rosebush in our garden yesterday afternoon, putting some letters under the roots as it was planted. Had lanterns with candles burning last night and it made me feel better to do that. Xx I've got to move on now, hopefully the future will be brighter. X

Good luck to those of you waiting to test, know kegirl is, not sure who else. X

Tranquilitybaby · 05/05/2014 10:40
