Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

Hi katniss, maybe this is a lucky thread! I'm tttc #1, cycle 16!!! 38. It's all a bit of a stress this ttc lark, I'm cd8, so we can be 2ww buddies depending on cycles! Are you new to mums net?

Hi there,

Please can I join? All the other threads are soooo busy and I might get lost...

So I'm 40 in June... Promised myself that I didn't want to be pregnant at 40 but hey ho, it's not a switch that you can easily turn off when it just hasn't happened...

So we have one DD who will be 5 in June. We've been trying for two years (on and off - not really committed to it at times) and we've both had all the tests available on the NHS and I had a Lap & Dye done in November.

Both got the all clear for everything.

I was spotting as early as 10 DPO (and once 7DPO) but that has calmed down a bit since the Lap and Dye and now in general it's very slight spotting from about 12 DPO.

I'm on CD4 and just purchased a load more IC OV and HPT sticks. Planning on starting DTD from about CD8 until OV.

I've had two MCs, one pre-DD and one just over 18 months ago.

Wow that was a long first post!!

purplemurple1 · 12/02/2014 09:24

thanks x

Gingerbreadlady1 · 12/02/2014 08:51

Oh its just I remmeber being where you are and the waiting. I'm only 4 weeks 3days so very early and I've MC before so not getting my hopes up too much but tentivley looking at old newborn photos and reminising Smile

The cramping and light bleed that I throught was AF coming last week must have been implantion I suppose, and no other symptoms yet so fingers crossed I'll be one of the lucky ones and not get morning sickness.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 11/02/2014 23:23

Gingerbreadlady1 · 10/02/2014 21:27

OP posts:
purplemurple1 · 08/02/2014 06:26

Yes it can be hard to keep the romance when you're dtd to a schedule!

No AF so poas but neg of course - I expect the tablets have skewed my cycle a bit to plan with my mind.
So I get to have nice wine tonight, yum.

Will you still check to see if you ov next month , do you temp or use sticks?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/02/2014 20:22

Ooooo! Nice weekend away, that's the best AF treat or celebratory weekend!

I'm not usually away that often so it's ironic that on month 2 & 3 of clomid I am. Dp can be away a lot be we try to work round it. Plus I work shifts so when needs must we dtd at random times purely to try to get knocked up lol! Dtd sex ain't as much fun, no matter how we go about it hehe

Boo AF!

Nah not temping I use to have an electronic thingy (can't remember the name) but with my weird work patterns and travel think I'd find normal temping to much hassel.
Such a pain with travel and trying to explain why you can't travel or would like to move a meeting without people guessing what you're up too.

I'm doingy normal job pt going back ft in a couple of months when things pick up as we tend to be busier in the summer.

Yh I'm so Sat - feel like it's on the way tbh - have some nice wine lined up, can't do much as its mil 80 next weekend so we are away.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/02/2014 18:46

Hi purple

It's never too early in the week for wineWink!

I'm down in the dumps as AF here officially, boo! Plus gonna be away from work over times I'm likely to be ov in feb and march so frantically checking dates! However my cycle is unpredictable so all bets off.

I really like your AF treat plan, think ill join you on that. I did have 2 cakes in work then bought a family cheesecake on way home to cheer myself up blush]

You're AF due this weekend? Do you temp? How's it looking? Fx!

OP posts:
purplemurple1 · 05/02/2014 18:15

I always make plans or have treat AF weekend, nicer wine than normal or banned preg food like a nice rare steak I find it helpfull to have something nice to take my mind off it. Do you tend to give yourself a treat?

purplemurple1 · 05/02/2014 18:13

how's your day been? mine started too early (4.15) but it did mean I got quite a few works hours in which is good as I'm working from home this week 3.5 days but need to fit it into 3 days at the most. I work as a consultant so travel a bit for work but balance it with being able to work from home a bit which is nice.

Is it too early in the week for wine?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 04/02/2014 18:41

And time for a bfp for you too!!! Fx!

I tested today, bfn Sad but AF not here yet but not very optimistic, looks like its cycle 16. Soooo fed up with this, feeling sorry for myself.

purplemurple1 · 04/02/2014 17:30

I'm due AF on Sat or Sun coming,

Still time for your bfp, hope you enjoy the wedding and then you can test the other side of it having enjoyed the drinks!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 03/02/2014 20:59

Weeeelllll, I did a test on friday as was off to a wedding & wanted to check if I could drink, obviously bfn!

Fx with the ov', where are you now in cycle?

OP posts:
purplemurple1 · 03/02/2014 19:29

I had tests the first time after a yr of ttc and found slightly elevated prolactin so they have me pravidel and after 2 or 3 months I started ovulating and got preg first month.

I started back on them mid Dec (although I do need to get a new test and prescription sorted) so not sure if I ov this month as I forgot to test some days and I'm not sure if there was a faint positive one day.

Fingers crossed, it does sound promising for you I would have a caved already - you're doing well.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 03/02/2014 18:48

This is my first month, I've been out on the std 50mg, had bloods to check dosage correct but not got results yet. Seems to be working as ov at cd19, now 11/12 dpo no AF yet! Yipppeeee!

Had mild cramps & a little very light spotting for 2 days, fx it's IB. Will keep you posted (honest, not gonna cave & test tomorrow).

Have you had any tests? All tickety boo? X

OP posts:
purplemurple1 · 03/02/2014 18:28

Sorry about typos - phone + fat thumbs

purplemurple1 · 03/02/2014 18:27

Yh it's weird you suddenly know every minute detail about your cycle but still constantly trying to guess if the twinge this month is something different!

I'm not even that sure I ovulated as I can't remember how long my tablets take to start working - but still got that poas urge.

Weirdly we have neighbors who were grandparents ny late 30's its weird as we drink with the 'adults' but it's their kids having babies this year. It's freaking me out a bit tbh.
I don't really know about Clomid - do you have yo play around with dose a few months before it works?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 30/01/2014 19:15

Lol! I can relate, I also lived there for a bit & still miss it. ESP the fact that you're not considered some sort of misfit if you aren't married with 5 weans at 30 as you seem to be in Scotland.

I'm also in the awful 2ww phase, not sure when ill get AF as fist month on clomid & apparently it can lengthen your cycles. Currently 8dpo, fighting the frankly ridiculous urge to poas. This ttc business will drive the sanest most rationale woman to become a nutter!
