Hi all,

Yes, congratulations Mabel!! I get similar comments re 'why would you want a third, when you have one of each?', which I think is pretty ridiculous. I'd be happy with three of a kind. Not going to find out with this one though. Fingers crossed everything is ok - I just want a healthy one. (Wee bit more worried this time, because of my age...) Soooo fed up with constant nausea and tiredness at the moment. Of course, I'd be more fed up if I wasn't pregnant though...

Passthebiscuitspls · 02/06/2014 16:24

Mabel ahhh! congrats on the boy! I love boys! I find them easier as what you see is what you get, well, mine is anyway. And so very cuddly, much more than my girl ever has been. He loves a cuddle with mummy or daddy and never turns one down, I love that!

Yes, I keep getting the question as to why would I want a third if I've already got one of each? Surely I should be done?! Ha ha, can't wait to announce my pregnancy! Everyone seems to have an opinion on everything don't they? Ah well, you can't please everyone, and this is about what's right for us and our family, not theirs! Told one of my bestest friends, she didn't know we were trying, the shock was hilarious, this is going to be fun! ;)

Hope everyone else is doing ok? Anyone close to testing soon? Xx

MabelMay · 31/05/2014 18:02

Hey again

passthebiscuits I've already found out what we're having. Another boy! It'll be our 3rd DS! I'm actually totally happy with 3 of a kind. My only real concern is that he's healthy and thriving in there. I'm not telling many people in RL though and am already dealing with the: 'I bet you're hoping it's a girl!' 'Oh god, what if it's another BOY???' 'Did you try for a third because you wanted a girl?'. It's driving me nuts already. I have to assume that people who make those kinds of comments have never struggled to get pregnant/had losses/or are just plain insensitive. How can the gender be more important than the baby's health? I guess they just want to say something...

And yes those early weeks are probably the most worrying of all. I was obsessed with my symptoms coming and going. Was convinced I was miscarrying a couple of times - just found it impossible to relax and enjoy the fact I was pregnant (had two MCs last year). Feeling a little more settled in it now, but only just! Now I'm about the enter the period of movement-checking/spotting, which is a whole new set of reasons to be paranoid!

Anyway, congrats again. The age gaps sound perfect. Ours are a little bigger. DS1 is 8, DS2 6. But they're both incredibly broody!

Wilting have my fingers tightly crossed for you.

And for everyone else too.

Good luck at the scan DG! Let us know how it goes.

warriorbot · 30/05/2014 16:16

Sorry about the witch, Marbles - but best of luck for the interview!

I've just applied for a job and I'm at the end of what seems like a very long 2WW. Like you I think I'll be able to see the positive side if there was no egg'n'spermalooza in my tubes this month. Just about...

is just so fucking clucky and still sore from all the clucky fucking

Passthebiscuitspls · 30/05/2014 14:32

Ha ha Wilting I was going to say until they're 18 but I imagine even then, we'll worry about them for one reason or another. Damn these kids! ;)

Xx

wiltingfast · 30/05/2014 14:09

It bloody is biscuits, I was going to say you can't rest easy until they're in your arms but actually, that's a lot of worry and work too!

why are are trying to do this again?! Grin

Passthebiscuitspls · 30/05/2014 13:42

Hey everyone!
MMM sorry she got you! Yes def stick around, it's lovely to share this with other people, especially as it's number 3, I'm guessing a fairly underwhelming response for this one (my mum proved that point yesterday!)

Wilting not long to go! your on the home stretch! I'm crossing everything it's your month!!

DG how did the scan go? How exciting!

I'm around 5 weeks now, and panicking that I don't feel as queasy as I did last week, I hope everything's ok. I might get another digital and do it on Monday and see if it's gone up to 2-3 weeks. God the worry, every bloody stage is a worry right through isn't it?!

Hope everyone else is ok.
Xx

MissingMyMarbles · 29/05/2014 19:12

Well, the red witch got me this morning. I am disappointed but my sensible head is somewhat relieved as we have such a lot of change going on at the minute. I have been called to interview which is good (although I'm bricking it)! Once we're moved and settled, we can start actively trying for #3. Can I stick around though, when I can, as I'd live to be announce #3 quite soon? All the best to everyone else, MMM

wiltingfast · 29/05/2014 08:41

Whey hey exciting DG! Good luck and tell us how it goes :)

Welcome missingmymarbles, love the name ;)

If I was on an ordinary cycle my af would be due 4 june mabel. Haven't tracked or anything, just didn't feel like it. We've been dtd tho so you never know! Was out with my sister last night and she thought the wine was too sweet and I thought it was horribly sour... Can I call that a symptom?! Heh heh

DGLB · 28/05/2014 22:38

Hi everyone, just popping in to see how your all doing??

Seems a lifetime ago since I started this thread! Got my 20 week scan a week today Ekk......

Congratulations passthebiscuits Smile

Fingers crossed for lots more BFP's SmileSmile

MissingMyMarbles · 28/05/2014 19:42

Hello.
Tentatively joining. I'm on 2ww and would love a 3rd, but in all honesty, timing would be atrocious this time. We have 2 girls, 9 and nearly 2. I'm not very good at pregnancy and have quite a complicated history. Whilst I wouldn't have chosen such a big age gap, I love it and would like dd2 to be a little older before another so she has some dedicated time without younger ones like dd1 did. I know that she'd be ok though if I was pg. we're supposed to be moving in a couple of months though, due to DH's work, and I am applying for jobs now too. Wouldn't be great rocking up to interview grey as the wall and looking for the nearest waste paper basket to puke into. All that said, we would love another.

I've only had 6 periods since dd2 was born. My normal cycle is anywhere between 24 and 30 days but the last 2 were 22 and 24. I'm now on day 27 and getting a bit twitched, lol!

Now I've introduced myself, I'm going to read back and get to know a few of you a bit better Smile

Passthebiscuitspls · 28/05/2014 18:39

Hey Mabel god it feels like a lifetime away to get to 17 weeks!! Have you come out of the feeling rubbish and knackered and onto the blooming stage yet? Are you going to find out what your having, the scan isn't far away now.

Oif mine are 6 & 3 yrs old now. Nice gaps I'm hoping! ;) all being well my youngest (at the mo) will be in nursery for her free hrs when the baby arrives.

Good idea Sweep, I hope it makes the difference. Fingers crossed.
Anyone else due to POAS this week? Hopefully more BFP's this week.
Xx

MabelMay · 28/05/2014 17:57

Just coming on here to see how everyone is doing - feel an affection for this thread as it's where my pregnancy journey 'began'. Am now 17 weeks along.

Congratulations passthebiscuits! Hope this is a happy, healthy, trouble-free pregnancy for you.

Wilting how are things? It's hard to judge where you are in a cycle after MC - were you aware of ov'ing at any point? Anyway fingers crossed for you, and for all of you. Hope those BFPs flood in in the coming weeks!
MMx

busyDays · 28/05/2014 16:37

Wow, congratulations biscuits. You must be thrilled!

SweepTheHalls · 28/05/2014 16:07

Looking atthis I'm going to upgrade my folic acid tablets to a more broad spectrum multivitamin.

Passthebiscuitspls · 28/05/2014 08:17

Sweep, I've heard that too. It can't do any harm can it to try the vitamins. Good luck googling, I hope you find some answers.
Xx

SweepTheHalls · 28/05/2014 08:01

I queried it with the GP as I thought that the short cycle could mean less chance of successful implantation , I'll go and have a look at those vitamins

BeginnerSAHM · 27/05/2014 21:00

Sweep - have you tried vitamin b6 (or is it b12)? One of them is supposed to lengthen your luteal phase. If you have a short cycle, you might not have long enough between ovulation and af for fertilisation and implantation to occur. Worth a google anyway and I know a bit more of that b vitamin won't harm you anyway....

SweepTheHalls · 27/05/2014 18:58

Great news biscuitsGrin . Neither of my other 2 took this long, the Drs have no idea what the problem is. I've given up on OPK as it just for my hopes up more each month as I was sure I must fall as we DTD at the right times. My cycles are now just 3 weeks long which I don't think helps either.

BeginnerSAHM · 27/05/2014 17:13

Hooray! Congratulations biscuits!! Fab news.

I was sure I had a tummy bug when I felt extremely queasy as light spotting - must have been day of implantation. Then just had achey boobs until 6.5 weeks - and now I feel constantly nauseous and hungover... (9 weeks ish tomorrow...). Am hoping it lifts at 12 weeks like with DCs 1 and 2!

wiltingfast · 27/05/2014 15:23

Yay biscuits thrilled for you! So good to get a BFP on the thread Grin well done to you and mr biscuits!

sweep that is so crappy I'm so sorry, maybe your body is still settling down after mc? You don't opk, do you temp? Ah, such a disappointment though, I am sorry.

oif · 27/05/2014 14:53

Aw, sorry sweep. It isn't fair at all! I hope pass is right, and she has set off a streak of bfps for the thread…

Wonderful news pass - congrats!! Hope the queasiness eases off. How old are your two at the moment?

I have been feeling queasy too, and going to the loo a lot, but in my case probably actually is a stomach bug! Either that or the stress of moving (this weekend coming - totally unprepared and overwhelmed by the onslaught of admin and logistical planning...)

Passthebiscuitspls · 27/05/2014 08:58

Ah sweep, I'm so sorry, that is a really long wait. Did it take this long with the other two? My sil was the same with her third, it just wasn't happening. The one month she didn't try as a lot going on that month, they DTD once and got pg, he's now a 6 month old! Easier said than done to keep the faith I know. Sending you big hugs!! Xx

So.... I POAS.... It's positive! Eeekkkkkk!! I feel different this time as I thought I'd got a stomach bug as been going to the toilet lots and feel queasy, I didn't feel queasy at all with first and only from 8 weeks with my second so just didn't put two and two together.

I'm so thrilled, due end of Jan all being well. I need to think of how to tell my DH as he'd already left for work this morning.

I hope mine is the start of a few more BFP's in the coming weeks.
Xx

BeginnerSAHM · 27/05/2014 08:43

Awh, sweep - sorry.... That's a long wait. But I think a March/April baby is much nicer (i have one!) so everything crossed for you this month.

Passthebiscuits... Poas! Go on!!!!!!

SweepTheHalls · 26/05/2014 21:15

AF for me Sad it just isn't bloody fair [stamps feet].
19 cycles now.aaarhhhhh
