Bump I know what you mean re: a night off! It's our last 'shot' tonight for this cycle and I'll be glad! It's not the same as just doing it when you feel like it for fun!

bumpbangbump · 15/01/2014 22:33

Oh, and I'm in education too. Post compulsory though so big, smelly, crazy teenagers mostly!

bumpbangbump · 15/01/2014 22:31

I'm really pleased with my weight loss, bit still a way to go! I think this is the first time I've felt like I won't want to give up, for birthdays, special occasions etc. Well I'll have extra treats but won't completely fall off the wagon. Just bought a 12 week count down so will have to stick to it for at least that long. Going to keep doing those until I'm at my target, hopefully early next year.

I'm a bit clueless about all the supliments, been trying to remember to taking folic acid and calcium/vit d but that's it.

Is it wrong that I'm glad its not a shagging night? So tired and getting to bed late because of fat club!

missmrsmummy · 15/01/2014 22:01

I have Year 6. Used to be secondary so this is great in comparison but also completely absorbing and exhausting!

Jessica78 · 15/01/2014 21:51

Hi Sunshine - I take those, but also extra folic acid & vit d, and metformin - wondering about additional magnesium after some reading... Just wondering if anyone else knows anything about it :) xx

Treaclepie19 · 15/01/2014 21:45

Littlemiss I had Reception my first year of teaching and loved it. I'm early years trained though so its where I feel most comfortable.
Hi rambini :)
You will just have to put yourself and baby first. Make sure you are happy with your action plan!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 15/01/2014 21:44

Jessica if you try the pregnacare conception tablets they include magnesium folic acid vitamins etc! Smile

rambini · 15/01/2014 21:41

I am just lurking atm, AF came earlier in the month.I have a doctors appt Sat for blood tests to check various hormone levels to indicate ovarian reserves?? Mum and Gran both went through menopause in their 20s so my Dr wants to try and see whats going on.
Also, I can't believe how many teachers are on here! I am also a teacher (year 5), and worry about coping with the stress and workload as I am permenantly exhausted as it is! Also work in a challenging school with some volatile children which is always a worry.

Sleepingstarsmommy · 15/01/2014 21:41

Choccy my heart goes out to you. I had 3 early mc before a late loss. Sending you huge hugs and will do my best to guide you through your blood tests but Im typing in my phone so not sure how successful I'll be.

Here goes

haematology:Fbc and esr.
clotting screen.
Full blood count checking you have the right amount of different blood cells, esr stands for erythrocyte (type of white blood cell) sedimentation rate. Esr is an indication of inflammation and is usually raised if you have an infection.

biochemistry: u&e, lft, gamma gt, bone profile, glucose, hba,c.

U&E is urea and electrolytes and is to check your kidneys are working ok
LFT is liver function test and gamma gt is to test levels of an enzyme from the liver
Bone profile will measure the proteins minerals and enzymes that are involved in bone turnover
Glucose and hbac will test how well your body is managing its sugar/insulin balance

Thyroid - thyroid function is linked to recurrent mc so they will want to check your within normal limits
Cholesterol - sure you know what this is!

Immunology:crp. C-reactive protein is an indicator of inflammation commonly used to monitor auto immune diseases.

Other:lupus is autoimmune disease and can in some female (but not all) increase their risk of miscarriage, Ana is anti nuclear antibody which is positive for most people with lupus

antiphosphohpid - antiphospholipid syndrome is a blood clotting disorder that can cause mc in 1st and 2nd trimester pregnancy. Usually treated with asprin or clexane.

Basically your doctor is being really thorough in checking your general health and looking for any other clues that may give an indication for a possible cause. Be prepared though that unfortunately alot of the time they do not find a reason and often the blood tests come back normal. So sorry you're having to go through this - be kind to yourself and your DH and take care of each other.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 15/01/2014 21:39

Thanks English that has really helped!!

I'm the same worrying about work before I have anything to really worry about! This year I have reception which is different but I'm loving it!

Treaclepie19 · 15/01/2014 21:29

Haha missmrs I'm thinking I could rush down the hallway or use the childrens toilets in my room :p alike you I wouldn't want to tell people too early.

bump well done on your weight loss :) since our conversation on the other thread I've lost 6lb so feeling much better. Still a while to go though!

Jessica78 · 15/01/2014 21:24

Ruby - wow! How wonderful - keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Choccy - a friend of a friend was prescribed a hormone pessary???!? That she uses everyday that helps apparently - I know nothing about it, but thought it worth mentioning xxx

Does anyone take a Magnesium supplement in addition to their conception bits & folic acid?

Honeybear30 · 15/01/2014 21:24

choccy I am so sorry to hear your news. It wasn't what I was expecting at all when I came to catch up. I hope you've had lots of hugs today and I really do hope you get some answers soon. Sending lots of love.

11 DPO here and no symptoms. Nada. A few twinges but nothing unlike af symptoms. Humph.

missmrsmummy · 15/01/2014 21:18

Bump I did SW as well before my wedding and lost a stone easily. Didn't feel like I was on a diet as I could eat so much! Also got rid of stomach acid problems and IBS somehow!

Well done for your weight loss - impressive!

bumpbangbump · 15/01/2014 21:16

So sorry choccy, there really are no words.

Congratulations Ruby! Amazing news.

And littlemiss, I've been doing slimming world for the past 4 months and have lost 2s4lbs. Still a long way to go but sw really does work and is pretty easy to stick to as long as you're happy to cook and enjoy veg!

missmrsmummy · 15/01/2014 21:10

Yes Treacle I worry about coping when pregnant too! Luckily the children's toilets are on my corridor and a sink outside my room so... Haha.

I'll be doing lots of 'just popping out to get some resources' and having a TA on hand. Though I won't want to tell anyone too soon, so it could be difficult trying to hide sickness!

Look at me worrying about all this when I'm not even pg yet!

Sleepingstarsmommy · 15/01/2014 21:04

English Thanks for the new thread.

Ruby so happy for you, and will be keeping my fingers and arms and legs and even my eyes crossed that everything goes right for you this time. Hope you medical team are good and help give you the support and monitoring you'll need to enjoy a happy and healthy pregnancy

Writerwannabe83 · 15/01/2014 20:39

choccy - I have been following your journey over the last few months and when I saw your post this morning I felt so heartbroken for you. Life can be so unfair and cruel and it always seems to happen to the people who deserve happiness the most. I'm so glad you have a supportive doctor, it can make the world of difference. I will continue to follow your posts and I'm sure there will be a happy ending for you and hopefully soon x x

ItsChristmaass · 15/01/2014 20:36

Mama I know it needs to be changed really, but I like it lol. I don't have short cycles and this is the only one I've ever experienced this. It started from 3dpo and has gotten stronger. I'm a little confused. Hmm I have my day 21 bloods Friday so shall be asking the nurse her opinion.

Treaclepie19 · 15/01/2014 20:25

Definitely littlemiss
I'm in Nursery. How about you?

missmrs I worry about coping when pregnant mainly...

DoctorDonnaNoble · 15/01/2014 20:10

Totally worry about. I felt really nauseous while I was pregnant and worried about having to leave my classes to be sick. And the tiredness made parents' evening a complete nightmare. But then I'm a bundle of nerves right now!

missmrsmummy · 15/01/2014 20:08

I'm a teacher too!

Anyone else worried that the stress of the job will prevent them from conceiving? I felt so harassed today, not deal at this crucial time of my cycle!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 15/01/2014 20:02

I'm so scared the same thing will happen again that I think I am going to chicken out for the time being.

mama31 · 15/01/2014 19:54

Doctordonna sounds very promising and no....ive not had permanent erect nips lol hoping it's a symptom for you and you get your bfp!!!

It'sChristmas!! Wow your name reminds me that Christmas is soooooo far away now lol good luck for your bfp also! Never had pains from 7dpo but do have a short cycle so do usually have them from about 10dpo.

ItsChristmaass · 15/01/2014 19:48

Marking myself on this one.

Choccy so sorry to hear that news. Can't imagine how your feeling. Thanks I think I remember you from a few months ago on these threads, I took a break for a while. Hope your feeling okay. Can't be easy. ??

Congrats to all the bfps! Really hoping this month is it for us.. 13 cycles and counting.
I have had constant period pain since Saturday, I'm now 7dpo. Has anyone else ever experience this?
