For those who have jumped off the January bus. May need assistance for the wonderfully organised ladies who are so brilliant at keeping the stats up to date!

So to start the engine MrsF2510 ttc #1 cycle 2 BFP due 1st Feb x

Let me know if I need to change or add any stats Smile

DH and I had an appt with the GP yesterday. We're being sent for testing. Having looked at my cycles a pattern is starting to emerge. AF always turns up on a Friday and cycles appear to be falling midway through every other month (apart from the first 6 months and then another 3 month cycle). I reckon I could be having annovulatory cycles the months that I don't get AF (or maybe not ovulating at all).
Anyway what this means is that I should be expecting AF in March rather than Feb so will be setting off to the bus station to see if I can hi-jack me a shiny new March bus Grin.

I'll still lurk around on here now and then and update stats once in a while.
Good Luck everyone! With much kindness and best wishes I hope I won't be seeing you on the next bus Grin

Serves me right for shopping in Canary Wharf! Grin

spinningirl10 · 25/01/2014 15:27

Kitty.....how much!!!Grin

Crikey this ttc is expensive!!

Must admit I've just had some frer delivered from Amazon!!

Just pee'd on an ov stick but no dark line, maybe tomorrow but I'll do another later just in case Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 25/01/2014 14:40

Now I've just read back on past posts, it seems Manuka Honey is the hot topic of the day! Am planning on taking one teaspoon straight, a day.

KittyVonCatsington · 25/01/2014 14:36

Right. Am sitting on the sofa in shock that I have just spent £90+.
Holland and Barrett Manuka Honey 22+ for £40. Apparently, they come in different strengths Confused. Pregnacare His and Hers £18.99. Two months supply of CB Digi 20 odd quid and Balance Activ conception gel, £13.99.
I have to keep this quiet from DH!! CD3. Good Grief Grin

barmybunting · 25/01/2014 13:47

Right, this manuka honey stuff. (I've just seen it in Tesco for £9.99 which is crazy for honey but I realise is cheaper than elsewhere!). I'm debating giving it a go.

How often are you supposed to take it? And can you mix it in with porridge or something or is it meant to be taking straight?

mum2kiss · 25/01/2014 12:57

Manuka honey is a honey found only from a partucular tree in new Zealand. It doesnt grow anywhere else in the world. It has very high antibacterial properties but you need to make sure you get the raw manuka honey. It looks more like vaseline than normal processed honey. It is very expensive but totally worth the money in my opinion. It is sooo good for you not just for conception but for general wellbeing. Its excellent for helping to clear up colds and sore throats too. It comes in different potency levels that start at +5 and goes up to about +30 I think. The higher the number the higher its antibacterial qualities. I usually buy at least a +10. Ive seen it at sainsbury and tesco, and occasionally aldi. Holland and barret is usually the most expensive unless they have a deal on

SnowBells · 25/01/2014 12:28

TTC officially started this cycle. Even did the entire bit of the Koala Plan, completely confusing DH.

Me: "Apparently, it helps."
DH: "Bizarre."

barmybunting · 25/01/2014 11:28

Spinning I like the sound of Christmas baby Smile. It does slightly alarm me that if not that, it would mean a 2015 baby though, that seems a very long time away! Hopefully Feb will be the month for everyone!

Pebbles similar to English, my DM has struggled with depression for a long time, since her early 20s and she is in her 60s now. It can be so hard to live with sometimes, and I really do feel for you and your DH. My DM was never keen to see anyone about it, and has frequently taken herself off anti-depressants at various points in recent years, only to totally spiral into it again. However, in the last two years or so, she has found that counselling and reflexology really helped and is now much more stable on a very low dosage of anti-depressants. It can be so hard to persuade someone to seek help, but if you go to the gp yourself and discuss it, they can give you some info to take home around other types of help available, as well as support for the stress you will be feeling as his partner. My DDad isn't a man to talk much about these things, but he tried that eventually and that was the catalyst for my DM going to talk to the GP again. It may be worth having a chat with your gp to see what they can suggest without your poor DP having to go in himself if he isn't ready at this stage.

Try to look after yourselves. It can be a very frustrating, tiring situation especially in the midst of ttc I imagine. Thinking of you and please keep talking away, you both need support in this. Thanks.

Hibou7688 · 25/01/2014 10:26

Hi again everyone! Need to read back up the thread, but I've been getting flashing smileys the last two days so it's aaaaall starting again! Good luck to us all xx

spinningirl10 · 25/01/2014 10:24

I've just been daydreaming about getting a bfp and realised if it doesn't happen soon, ie next 2 cycles we'll all be having Christmas babies!!!!!Grin How lovely would that be....although not good to have birthday so close to Christmas!

Jessica78 · 25/01/2014 10:23

Just have to share something - have been ttc since May, and really not sure whether I've been ovulating or not, but got my first line on an ovulation predictor stick yesterday - just really happy to think even that is happening! ( obviously been DTd lots in a very hopeful manner! ) Good luck everyone! Xxx

MrsExtraOrdinary · 25/01/2014 10:13

English I was wondering about the manuka honey thing. Just looking at holland and Barrett website. You can get hand hand nail cream which is decidedly tempting as an alternative as I'm not sure I'm going to be any good at eating it Wink

pebble82 · 25/01/2014 10:08

I'm going to try talking to him next week when he's not feeling as low.

I can't bring myself to buy manuka honey. Daylight robbery! Why so much?? Is it a rare type of bee making it?

Just read another tip to add to our collection. Get your DP/DHs to have a cold shower 30mins before DTD. It helps speed up the sperm apparently.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 25/01/2014 10:00

Can I just say Pebble, my mum has suffered depression over the years along with anxiety, it's extremely frustrating at times but after seeing a very good doctor and having some counselling she's a million times better. No longer on super strength happy pills and her anxiety is almost non-existant. My point is - help is there, sometimes it's hard to admit you need it but a low dose anti-depressant might be just what he needs at times like this. Hope you manage to persuade him.

On another note - how fucking expensive is manuka honey?! €20 here!! For honey!!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 25/01/2014 09:59

Can I just pop in to say hello again? as I've fallen off the thread already. Hope you all have a lovely weekend dtd.

pebble82 · 25/01/2014 09:57

Thanks everyone. It really does mean a lot to hear caring words.

I've tried to keep my stress levels down just in case as I think being stressed releases a stress hormone that stops conception/implantation. I'm sure next week all will be back to "normal".

He's up today and has made a coffee. Says he's not up for leaving the house but at least it's slight progress.

Baby steps I suppose. (no pun intended)

spinningirl10 · 25/01/2014 09:54

Pebble....I'm sorry you're having a difficult time with your dh. Depression isn't something I know a lot about it. But it would be good if you could get him to the docs, with some medication he may feel much better. Sounds like you're doing all you can for him. Hope he comes out of it soonThanks

spinningirl10 · 25/01/2014 09:51

Morning allGrin

I need to be dtd now!!!! Will ov tomorrow or Monday! Going to use everything I've got to get dp in the mood tonight!!!!!WinkGrin

Treaclepie19 · 25/01/2014 09:11

Also, pebble I sort of know how you feel as my DH struggles with depression on and off. However he hasn't while we have been TTC so I can't imagine how that feels.
Remember that while he feels that way, you are also under stress. Try and look after yourself and know he will come out the other side.

Treaclepie19 · 25/01/2014 09:03

Oh no barmy :( sorry AF arrived.

The koala plan began yesterday and my first flashing smiley this morning :)

KittyVonCatsington · 25/01/2014 09:03

Sorry to moan - it feels good writing it down but this is probably the wrong place!

pebble82 Please, never apologise! We will always listen and offer support-even if we don't fully understand what you are going through Thanks it sounds like you are doing everything to support your DH. It must be difficult to live with depression. Is there anyone else that he also trusts who can help you to convince him to see a GP?

KittyVonCatsington · 25/01/2014 08:54

barmy No!!! So sorry to see you on the bus (IYKWIM!) enjoy yourself tonight and try to forget about TTC if you can! Look forward to seeing us all get BFP on this 'love month' Grin

It is lovely to also see some new passengers on the bus - I hope you all enjoy the ride!

I'm going to buy myself some CB Digi OPKs today. Last month I used Boots own brand and didn't get a positive reading at all. Hoping the digis are clearer. In addition, I'm going to Holland and Barrett and getting manuka honey and the proper pregnacare conception vits) I'm going to do you proud this month MrsKoala!!!!!!!

toots123 · 25/01/2014 08:52

Happy burns day :)

I got a positive opk on tuesday so dtd wed and fri. Maybe not enough but not convinced I ovulated. Last month I had ovulation pains for a couple of days but nothing this time. And a lot less ewcm too. So will keep dtd every second day anyway. Dh will be happy! Haha x
