I'm 6/7 dpo and had a slight temp drop this morning. FX it's implantation. I promised myself I wouldn't symptom spot but here I go again!

Wineandchoccy · 28/01/2014 08:47

barmy I went to a baby shower and one of the guests bought the mum + Dad a basket with DVD's, books, magazines, coffee, tea bags, posh biscuits etc she was saying the other day it was the best present she got!

I think a voucher is a good idea though because they can always use it for nappies or an outfit.

mama31 · 28/01/2014 08:45

Barmy I think a voucher would be appreciated by your friend as it is so nice to choose what you need!! I'm sure she would be very grateful! and lovely your sewing blankets etc

Well 7dpo here....snore.....

Hazelbrowneyes · 28/01/2014 08:36

Jumping on the bus! AF arrived today. I'm a bit disappointed to be honest, especially as I'd pretty much convinced myself that all the weird symptoms meant I was pregnant. Hey ho.

On the upside, this is cycle 2 since coming off the pill and cycle lengths have been 31 days and now 28 days.

So, I'm here on the Feb bus.

Stats:

Hazelbrowneyes TTC #1 Cycle 2 BFP due 25th Feb

Those of you who already have DC - can you help please? I have a baby shower on Saturday for a close friend who is having her first DC, a boy. In hunting around for gifts, I am beginning to think that a gift voucher for mothercare/tesco/amazon would be the best plan as it lets them get what they need rather than what I think they need. Is that a terrible idea or would you have been able to make use of it before/once baby came along?

They live in a small flat so have limited space, the last thing I want to do is add to more stuff they don't need. I'm currently sewing some baby stuff (towel, blanket etc) for him when he arrives that I will add his name etc to for after he arrives as well.

BingoBango85 · 28/01/2014 06:53

Ticket please! January no luck-February will be our month! ?? TTC#1 cycle 4 AF god knows when Shock

funkymonk · 27/01/2014 22:49

atyourage I have used preseed and conceive plus. I have conceived twice while using conceive plus and have never had any problem using either of them. its a little cold and slippery but of you put it in 10 minutes or so before then it has chance to warm up.

itschristmas I feel for you. I am cycle 14 now with mc cycle 8 and mmc cycle 12. Hang in there. To be honest these threads don't do you much good if you're feeling down as most people seem to get their bfp cycle 1 or cycle 2. I've been on and off them for ages depending on my state of mind!

Would someone mind adding me as on my phone. Just finished first cycle of af after mc.

Funkymonk TTC #1. Cycle 14.(cycle 8 mc cycle 12 mmc) bfp due 18th Feb (though that's not too exciting as am convinced any bfp will now end in mc!)

atyourage · 27/01/2014 22:46

hat thanks for quick reply. I bought a tube, just not used it yet, waiting for evil AF to finish then will have to experiment!

ImaginaryHat · 27/01/2014 22:39

Yeah i use preseed all the time. Its true you dont need much, nowhere near as much as it suggests as its very 'wet'. I know some people dont like it because it is quite wet and watery, but i find if i just use a little bit its good. I've personally not had any uti problems with it. Hope that helps a bit.

atyourage · 27/01/2014 22:29

Is anyone using/used this 'preeseed' stuff??

I have been reading old posts on here/google about it and got mixed reviews.

Those who have used it say don't use too much as it's quite slippery. Also some people have complained of getting UTI's after using. I suffer badly from UTI's (which is making this TTC business even more tricky) so not sure if to use it or not.

Sorry if TMI- my CM is fine on OV day but non existant on days leading upto OV.

Anyone with experience of this stuff?

Thanks in advance

ImaginaryHat · 27/01/2014 22:28

Haha mama!

mama31 · 27/01/2014 22:22

MrsF wondered what you were referring to....then realised pregnacare tablets of course..... haha!

MrsF2510 · 27/01/2014 22:15

Mabelmay - yes an orgasm after DP/DH is
Supposed to help the little swimmers move closer to
The cervix. It isn't imperative though as
Conception can happen without it happening after DP/ DH. X

Another for the Feb bus. Month 7 of trying. BFP due on valentines day all being well!

Longo · 27/01/2014 21:56

Got tummy ache, think the witch is on her way Sad

ImaginaryHat · 27/01/2014 21:54

Just popping my head in to say hi, so hi! Been trying to stay off mn while afs been visiting in an effort to not obsess about ttc all the time, but now she's just about gone I can feel the familiar pull of the buses drawing me back in!

Hope you're all doing ok and theres plenty of dtd and nudp going on here!

Just switched from 7 seas trying for a baby to pregnacare conception today - how big are the bloody tablets!

MabelMay · 27/01/2014 20:12

Thanks for the NUPD info. Well shoot I've not been doing anything like that. If I don't get the BFP this month, I'll definitely go for that - plus the orgasm after the husband comes...? Is this because supposedly it pulls the sperm in? Confused. sorry to sound ignorant.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 27/01/2014 19:59

I've always used the clear blue ones but I got some cheapies to use next month and splashed out on a clear blue fertility monitor off eBay! Mental!! OPK crazy!
Also if you DTD every night DH sperm can lose quality Confused

KittyVonCatsington · 27/01/2014 19:53

Right, to help with the Monday blues, I thought I would share this cute joke:

A baby polar bear goes up to his dad and asks, "Dad, am I pure polar bear?" The dad replies, "Sure you are son. Im all polar bear, my parents are all polar bear, your mum is all polar bear, and her parents are all polar bear." Still unsure the baby polar bear goes to his mum and asks, "Mum, am I pure polar bear?" She answers, "Of course you are honey. Im all polar bear, your father is all polar bear, my parents are all polar bear, and his parents are all polar bear." Still not convinced the baby polar bear goes to his grandparents and asks, Grandma...Grandpa...am I all polar bear?" His grandmother answers, "Of course you are sweetie. Were all polar bear, your mother is all polar bear, your father is all polar bear, and his parents are all polar bear. Why do you ask sweetie?" The baby polar bears replies, "Because Im f freezing!"

babytinks89 · 27/01/2014 19:52

Haha englishgirlabroad!!
Well its so hard with DH on nightshift but he better hurry home i'll stay awake or it will be some very early morning sex lol...

I just dont know whether to go buy some clear blue ones, or like you say just dtd every night until the 3rd-4th expected ovulation day... Seems so long away though!

KittyVonCatsington · 27/01/2014 19:49

Hi MabelMay! So, NUDP is part of the Koala plan (named afterthe Mnsnetter mrskoala on jan bus part 2 thread) Step one: not to orgasm during dtd until after DH, Step two is NUDP which is naked upside down pedaling for a few mins, Step three; lie with pillow under bottom for 30 mins. She also advised a spoon of manuka honey each day. Around the country for the last month, lots of MNsnetters have been engaging in this practice!!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 27/01/2014 19:44

Hi Mabel! Welcome! Hope the feb bus is a lucky bus for you. NUDP is naked upside down pedalling. Basically as it sounds after DTD to keep sperm in!
Sazzle- glad it went well, do you think you'll try to get an early scan?

It'sChristmas, sorry you're feeling low. This TTC lark is incredibly hard, can't imagine how hard it must be with obstacles in the way and a long wait behind you. You'll get there though. SmileThanks
Babytinks - I think with OPKs it's a case of just seeing if it works for you. Some people like them, some really don't. I might suggest just DTD every other day though until you get a clear positive. Then go hell for leather Wink. You could end up shattered before you get to the pivotal day!

ItsChristmaass · 27/01/2014 19:31

Sazzle I do already have a little boy, he's 3 and a half now. The longing to be a mum again and give my son a sibling is such a horrible feeling when every month I feel like I've failed him and my dh. It took a year and a half to fall pg with my ds so it's going the same way for our 2nd.

Sorry for being so down on here but at the moment there's so much going on with my family I feel like I can't tell them how crap I'm feeling.

babytinks89 · 27/01/2014 19:19

Hi ladies!
Just thought i would give an update where i am!!
