So, here it is, Part 4! May it bring lots of BFP's for those of us still waiting and may it bring happy healthy pregnancies for those who are fabulously pregnant.

awh willow everyone is a bloody expert! I hope you get a bfp soon and can shut them up haha!
insomnia has struck again...

willowking · 22/01/2014 22:54

Better and Donna, so happy your scans went well!

I'm now on day 32 since my AF. No signs yet but odd little occasional cramps. Dp gleefully told me my boobs looked huge today, I told him I doubt they'd be looking bigger already, he seemed happy. Had BFNs yesterday and on Saturday. Been to pound land and got loads of tests. Gonna POAS tomorrow. Can't hep myself!

My DM, gm and mil all keep telling me how wonderfully fertile they all were and how timing my cycles seems very silly. If it takes me a long time to conceive or If I can't god forbid I can see them getting right on my (not bigger) tits! Grin

HazyShadeOfWinter · 22/01/2014 21:22

Thanks hungry and lucy, not using OPKs or planning to just yet - will use the apps and monitor my CM at first. Somehow I find the idea of an OPK and knowing exactly when it is a bit scary. Ask me again if I'm still TTC in a few cycles!

windy great news on the urgent referral, I really did find the exercises helped to stabilise things so it got no worse and even a bit better. Oh, and second lucy's advice about pillows at night - I had them all round me by the end to support bump, legs etc.

I know what you mean about letting work down, but would there be any way you could even work from home or something to rest more? Maybe avoid it getting to the point where you need to be signed off?

sorry to hear about your sciatica donna, back pain and toddlers aren't a good mix.

lucy I have to work on Sat so not sure a POAS party will help me concentrate...mind you if still no AF by then I will likely spend whole time symptom spotting so perhaps poas and get the good/bad news out in the open is best plan.

Windywinston · 22/01/2014 19:52

Donna I'm sorry you're suffering too, the things we have to through eh? Are you able to work? Sciatica is no joke.

My GP thinks it's definitely SPD and referred me for urgent physio at the hospital, which I'm really grateful for. He has offered to sign me off work and I get up to 6 months on full pay if that happens (my contractual maternity pay is crap but sick pay is good), but I'm determined to stick it out if I can as I can't bear the thought of letting work down, but I'll have to see how things pan out I guess.

Thanks for all your encouragement today.

Hungry, I hope your mum is ok, I'm sure she'll be thrilled when you're finally able to tell her.

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 17:38

I'll never leave poor DH alone! :-)

And yes, we were discussing it today. I'll email the scan photo to her and ask her to call me once she's digested its contents!

She's a bit wonky at the moment, so I don't think springing it on her on the phone is a great idea as she won't have time to compose a response :-)

I'm glad you're getting sorted, Windy. Much better to do it now.

donnas1984 · 22/01/2014 17:16

windy my gp has referred me for physio as I have bilateral sciatica ive to go to thr mat unit on Tuesday so dont delay! she was very lovely and prescribed me ranitidine for my heartburn.

Windywinston · 22/01/2014 17:04

Gosh I hadn't realised SPD was such a common condition, if this is what I have it's bloody horrendous! My sympathy goes out to anyone who has had this before. Is it likely you'll get it again? My boss has asked me if this means I'll not want to go through all this again. I told him not to worry and that I never had any intention of having more than 2 pregnancies!

The consensus seems to be to get it seen to before it gets unbearable. Seeing as I want to carry on working full time til 38 weeks I need to get this dealt with or I might find myself signed off. So I spoke to mw who said I need to see GP and say that she's recommended a referral for physio at the local hospital (not the local physio centre which isn't as good apparently), so I'm off to the GP now.

I flipping well love my mw, she's brilliant! I'm so lucky to have her looking after me again - she has a little fan club, I remember meeting a fellow pregnant lady at a party last time and it turned out she had the same mw, we spent ages talking about how brilliant she is. When I go to the maternity unit at hospital the staff often comment how lucky I am to have her as my mw too!

Sorry this is all a bit me me me. Hope you're all having a better day than me!

LucyJoJo · 22/01/2014 16:17

Ah Hungry, I can understand what you mean about wanting it to be over, I am sure everything will be ok for you though, and you will be able to get excited about it and relax a bit more, and leave your poor DH alone! Grin Will you tell your mum after the scan?
Hazy there have been lots of bfps! We had quite a few in a row at one point, and lots that came after just coming off contraception so hopefully this really is a lucky thread!! I would probably say EOD until you know for sure ov is well and truly over too. Are you planning to or are you already using opks?
Would you like to join my POAS party on saturday!? Grin

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 15:45

Sperm meets egg plan (SMEP) suggests EOD from CD8 til positive OPK, then the next 3 days, day's rest, then one more day. But EOD from the beginning of your fertile period until you're certain OV has been and gone should do.

DTD prior to OV is preferable, so sperm is waiting for eggy!! :-)

HazyShadeOfWinter · 22/01/2014 15:08

Wow I had no idea this thread had so many BFPs and pregnancies - glad I joined now!

donna love the thought of a yawn, like he was bored of being proded.

May I ask another newbie question? If you are EODing, are you meant to EOD all cycle long? Ie from end of AF to start of next? How would one manage that? [exhuasted emoticon] Or just around expected OV?

My AF is now overdue according to both of the apps on my phone, but I have a long and irregular cycle so trying not to hope too much. Think if AF hasn't arrived I will POAS on Sunday - by then AF would be nearly a week late.

When I was younger and had the odd pregnancy scare POAS always seemed to make AF arrive the next day so at least if it is a BFN it might help get my next cycle underway so we can get stuck in.

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 14:54

I just want Monday over with to be honest! Then hopefully I can relax a bit. :-)

Lucy, I had a bad feeling about it too, if you remember, bad it was unfounded. You'll get there. xx

I just did my final OPK as HPT and the line was still super dark super quick, so hopefully that's positive news!

Do you have a boy's name ready, Donna? We will use the one we chose before, if it's a boy. Need to have discussions for a girl's name. God, if it's twins we need two names!! :-/

LucyJoJo · 22/01/2014 14:30

Ooh Swede what a confusion for you. I'm afraid I can't help out much, I am so clueless about LPs and ovulation and cycle days! I guess all you can do is wait wait wait, and POAS once you start getting to when you think AF is due. I'm confident for you.
Better, I am trying to hold it together. Confused Actually not desperate for sat to arrive as I think I pretty much know it will be bfn again and I don't think I can handle that. I keep thinking I have symptoms, like feeling a bit sick, being more hungry than normal, weird cramping pains, and feeling tired...but then I remember I have them every cycle!! I know I sound like a broken record, but you know how you had a bad feeling? I have had a bad feeling since we started ttc no2 that it was never going to happen. Fingers crossed though ey.
Donna glad your scan went well! How very exciting. A little boy would be so cute!! Have you said anything to DD yet?
Hungry I'm sure all will be ok for you, bet you can't wait for monday!!

Metalhead · 22/01/2014 14:18

Hungry's right, in a normal cycle if you ov'd 4 days late you'd expect AF to be 4 days later than usual too, so you still have a 2ww.

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 13:59

Your luteal phase (OV to AF) shouldn't change length so however long you normally have after OV should be the same here. Late OV should only delay AF by the number of days it was late.

Though I'm not sure if an MC can affect both. My understanding is based on 'normal' rather than WTF cycles! So not helpful maybe!!

SwedeAway · 22/01/2014 13:36

Hungry - I think it is going to be the longest 2ww ever!! Not even sure how it would work now since I Ov'd 4 days later than usual. Does this mean that I do not have to wait 2 weeks or will I have to wait longer than 2 weeks as my AF may be delayed as my Ov was delayed??? Is it always 2 weeks between Ov and AF/BFP? I sound like a total newbie now but with the mc and a somewhat WTF cycle I am slightly confused?

Donnas - so happy that your scan went well!

Hi everyone,

Just a quickie while on lunch at work. How is everyone today?
Hi Metal - so we both have our scans next week same day. Mine not til 2.30pm, and of course Hungry's on Monday! Very exciting, and Hungry is right, your baby will be like a jellybean but you'll see plenty and the heartbeat which is so nice to see.
Windy - How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're suffering with that?
Kt - how are you feeling? I'm knicker watching all the time too!
Better - I too will be a SAHM after this baby and can't wait. I wish i could save my job for a few years until they are both at school as good firm and goo dmoney etc but i doubt that will be possible. I managed to hold my job for 18 months when i had my DS and had 18 months off instead of a year. But there will be other jobs when i am ready to go back. Are you feeling any better?
Donna - Wonderful news about your scan! It has made me really excited or mine too next week, just hope the placenta has moved up. Was yours ok? And you think little boy?! You did well not to ask, i just couldn't wait.

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 12:29

Awww, Donna! I'm so glad it went well. :-)

I'm going to try to get a better view this time. With DD the screen was at a really awkward angle.

Metalhead · 22/01/2014 12:09

Better yes my scan is just to confirm dates because of my WTF cycle. As we only dtd once in December though I'm pretty sure my dates are right!

donnas glad your scan went well too, it is so lovely to see their little faces and hands and everything, I remember it well from last time.

donnas1984 · 22/01/2014 11:57

better im delighted for you what a relief I hope you go on to have a healthy pregnancy for the weeks to comeGrin xxx
I had my 20 week scan on Monday ir was amazing everything was so clear I could see baby yawning it was incredible. instantly love the wee wriggler Grin Grin im feeling like im having a boy this time but we didnt find out I just have an inkling!
windy im off to drs today with pevlic pain been getting numbness and pins and needles and cant lift dd in and out the bath for a few weeks now also mm starting to get stabbing pains right down in the 'lady area' also need something for this bloody heartburn!
Uch better im so pleased everything went well xxx

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 11:54

Could you have a cervical ectropian like I did last time? They can lead to otherwise unexplained bleeding and wouldn't be picked up on a scan.

Might be worth seeing if you can have a speculum examination to see if that's likely. But if you don't bleed again I wouldn't worry. Have you DTD at all?

I bled twice with mine, but as I was further on got full on monitoring in hospital.

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 11:51

Hi Better, I'm fine :-)

Still not very symptomatic, but your scan has given me hope! I'm still erring on the side of caution though, until I know for sure what's happening.

Bloody scary this early pregnancy lark, isn't it?

Are you still on cloud nine? :-)

BetterNotBitter · 22/01/2014 11:49

Bless your dh swede hopefully this will be your month.

engels how are you?

metal you should be able to see a heartbeat shouldn't you? Nicely reassuring to have an early scan. Is it because your unsure of your dates?

How are you doing lucy? Desperate for Saturday? ?

Oh no metal sorry your nausea is bad, its a horrible thing, ive been lucky escaping it this time but last time it was awful.

Have you spoken to your midwife windy?

How far along do you think you are again kt? Did you have lots of symptoms last time round?

How are you hungry?

BetterNotBitter · 22/01/2014 11:48

Thanks everyone, took a while to sink in!!

Yes mrs I'm a sahm, have been since dd was born, will be until all baby/toddler phases are over. I know lots of people say itd drive them crazy but I love it.

Oh no windy that sounds awful, I think it might be the gp you have to see. Hopefully they can help you somehow, its the last thing you need!

guinness I dont think you can help overthinking it! If we hadnt got the bfp I would have been avoiding a dec/jan due date as dd birthday in jan & dont want 2 then!!

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 10:25

Oh dear, Metalhead! An aversion to your own house is bad.

FWIW, I couldn't stand the smell of DH during my first trimester last time! :-/
