So, here it is, Part 4! May it bring lots of BFP's for those of us still waiting and may it bring happy healthy pregnancies for those who are fabulously pregnant.

Oh, and people keep making comments about twins - do any of you have them in the family?

I would love twins, though I know they are such hard work. Would be a quick way round the 'DH only wants 2 but I want more' dilemma....
But not in either of our families so would be a little miracle...

HazyShadeOfWinter · 26/01/2014 21:10

Thanks everyone, spent much of weekend swaying between freaking out (which I did last time, too) about actually reality of being pregnant, and getting very excited and having to restrain myself from buying newborn clothes in the sale. DH was a bit shocked as he was expecting it to take a few months, so he didn't believe me when I told him (did test without telling him as thought would be BFN and didn't want extra pressure).

Lucy, glad you enjoyed your party, lovely way to mark the start of Fantastically Fertile Feb. I'm impressed you stayed up til 4am!

mrs we're having similar probs, DS struggles to get to sleep at night, we have to stay with him and he often ends up falling asleep on floor in his room cuddled up next to one of us, then we transfer him to bed after. He is also still having one BF in the night, and I'm dreading cutting it out as it's usually at about 5 and nothing else gets him back to sleep then.

We're considering taking the sides of his cot bed to make hte bed seem more appealing, but I want to spend a bit of time talking it up to him first. You know - "one day you're cot will become a big bed, won't that be great!". Maybe try doing some of that with your DS before the big move - you do have quite a while til June and if you can prepare him before hand it might make the big switch easier.

morerum/donna 33 weeks sounds a great time to stop - especially if there's any change you might be early - you'll have plenty of leeway to rest beforehand.

swede I had cramps from less than 7dpo with both pregnancies, I think. Still cramping now, but was like this last time too. When do you think BFP/AF is due?

metal the tiredness thing is definitely a factor in sickness - I found last time I was much better if I rested. Hope your cold gets better soon and instead you feel bit (but not too) sicky to ease your mind.

Good luck with scans tomorrow x

LucyJoJo · 26/01/2014 19:19

Hi everyone, just popping on quickly to say a huge congratulations to Hazy, one of us was bound to get a bfp this weekend, how exciting for you!!! Has it sunk in a bit more yet? What did DH say?
I have been very hungover today Grin Our party last night was amazing fun, I got exceedingly drunk and ate lots of cake and went to bed at 4am, and have been enjoying vegging on the sofa most of the day.
DH and I saw it as a bit of a final blow out too for our 'fantastically fertile February' (or as DH put it 'Fuck me February'!!!Shock) we are going to go tee-total, cut down on caffeine and all things nasty and be incredibly healthy and positive. Maybe go for the eod or every 2 days option too as I don't want to over-do it!
Claude we also only had the one night of sickness, but she has come down with a cough/cold now. There's always something!
Hi to everyone else, mrs sorry you are having bedtime issues, I can't give much advice I'm afraid but I would agree with Engels, don't pressure yourself too much to get him settled in his own bed, they are only little for such a brief time, he will soon grow out of it, maybe when the next baby comes along he will relish being the big brother and the big boy and will enjoy all the more having his own room and big boy bed. But again I can see why you would want him settled before the next one comes along!
Swede I definately think creamy-stuff is a fantastic sign, especially if you've only had it for one day. I tell you, I've got good feelings for you this cycle Grin
Sorry to those I've missed out, need to go and put DD to bed so I can get back to the sofa!! Good luck to all those having scans this week.

Toothpastekissesno2 · 26/01/2014 19:10

Goodluck with scans this week! Look forward to hearing about them! Three more weeks til my 20 week scan but flutterings are quite often now. I am still tired at 17 weeks but I think juggling work / ds and pregnancy means there isn't much down time!

HungryHorace · 26/01/2014 18:33

Or both, Better :-)

The 'taste' comes back in the afternoon, which I suppose is when I start to get tired.

I think I've felt the popping bubble sensations too this last week.

But overall, I agree with you. I'm not forcing myself out of bed at 5.45, to leave at 6.30 for the 7am train and getting back 12 hours later. Life is more relaxed, definitely.

I was almost sick brushing my teeth earlier...yay! I was really sick for about 2 weeks then it tailed off. That bothers me a bit. But not being sick has go very preferable, in the long run!

Metalhead, I hope you feel better tomorrow. Hot water with lemon and honey and an early night for you. :-)

Donna, once your DH gets some work, word of mouth should kick in. Which will be great for him.

BetterNotBitter · 26/01/2014 18:16

I meant to say re your comment about lack of symptoms hungry, I know how unsettling it is and I'm not going to say I'm sure it will all be fine as I didn't really care for that when people in real life said it to me! All I can say to hopefully reassure you is it's still the same. If I hadn't tested and hadn't seen the scan, other than the lack of period I genuinely wouldn't know I was pregnant. I mean I've had the bad tiredness but that could be put down to anything, other than that, not one thing really. Last time I had sickness everyday, the metal mouth taste, a bad back and probably more. I do think a big factor, which could well be the same for you, is not having to be up and out on a morning and being able to 'rest' more (I know it's not easy being a SAHM) but you can sit down more etc. The odd morning this time round when we've had to be up & out in the car early are the only times I've had sickness like last time.

Or it could just be that this time were having boys.......!

BetterNotBitter · 26/01/2014 17:55

Oh no metal sorry you feel I'll, it's always worse when pregnant too :(

hungry I'm already thinking about you re tomorrow. At least it's earlyish in the day. I know people who have taken their LOs with them & it's been fine. We didn't but only because of dds fear of everything medical!! I'm sure with her age especially you will be fine, I think the hospitals generally mean toddlers who are likely to cause a fuss (like mine haha)

How is everyone else? How's everyone's weekend been?

lucy how are you?

BetterNotBitter · 26/01/2014 17:52

Catching up on replies from previous page first so this may be abit garbled!!

donna 33 weeks is still a nice amount of time before baby comes at least. Good news about your husbands business too, hopefully the redundancy will turn out to be a blessing in disguise. I don't think I've had any specific cravings yet this time other than just lots of food in general haha. Had to go out and buy some bigger knickers yesterday.....and the indignity begins ha!

Lovely to hear from donna & mrs re baby kicks too! I can't wait. I was about 16 weeks for flutterings last time so hopefully just a few more weeks!

I'm doing loads better thanks mrs the effects of the glutening went around Friday. Bleedings all stopped & my first trimester tired end seems to be easing so all good!! Tricky one re your little guy and his bed. We have always been really strict with little miss not being allowed in our bed but we have a blip every few weeks when she's spent the night at my mums (where she sleeps in my mums bed and generally gets her own way with everything) and the first few nights home consist of
'mummy and daddy's bed?'
'No, you never come in mummy and daddy's bed. Your bed.'
'My go in grans bed!!!!' Hours of tantrums!
It takes a few days to get her back to normal.
We're having a nightmare with her sleeping at the moment though, she's slept through from 3 months until the day she turned two and the last few weeks she's been awful. We moved her into a big girls bed last week thinking while she was already unsettled we might as well make the switch. She was improving the back end of the week but spent the night at my mums last night so were probably in for a world of pain tonight! I don't think there's anything you can do mrs other than accept it's going to be terribly hard and try once you've started to stick to it, hopefully that will ensure the shortest time possible. If you give in once, it just means he'll put up more of a fight every time afterwards. Tough one though :(

HungryHorace · 26/01/2014 15:43

Thank you...discovered yesterday that my appointment is at 11.35, not 11.00. Boo! God knows why I thought the earlier time!

Mrs, I think you asked if we are taking DD with us, and we are as we have no childcare. Our letter doesn't say not to either.

I think Lucy asked ages ago who's looking after DD when I go back - briefly - to work. The answer is DH and MiL.

Emailed my appeal letter to work today. I think they probably thought they'd got away with it as my deadline is tomorrow. No such luck. See when my meeting ends up being now.

I've not mentioned their cock up. I'll save that til the end. :-)

Metalhead · 26/01/2014 15:19

Hungry good luck for tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you.

How is everyone today? I've come down with another cold over night, really runny nose and sore throat, so DH and DD went swimming without me Sad. Just had a little nap but am still feeling rubbish. On the other hand, I'm a bit worried that my nausea seems to have got a bit better since Friday... gah!

And now I want a burger and chips after watching Man vs Food...

HungryHorace · 26/01/2014 14:59

Claude, it's first day of full flow bleeding. :-)

CallingAllEngels · 26/01/2014 14:29

sorry for mammoth non-ttc post!

claudeekishi · 26/01/2014 14:28

Hazy huge congratulations! Really thrilling news, has it sunk in yet?

Very best of luck to those with upcoming scans.

Lucy how are you doing? Is dd better? Mine's coming around, just had that one night of vomiting on Thursday thankfully.

Can I ask you all something - you seem to know your stuff! What day should I count as Day 1 of my cycle in terms of bloodflow? It was a weird one this month. Early last Wednesday (22nd) I had some pink spotting after dtd. It went away then and there was nothing until brown spotting/very light flow began on the 24th; full flow red blood on the 25th.

So, what should Day 1 be do you think? Confused

CallingAllEngels · 26/01/2014 14:28

dream sorry to hear about your mc. I had one in mid-October as well. It sounds as if your body is resetting itself after mc, so may just be a wtf cycle. I would keep testing every few days. Understand how frustrtaing it must be.

mrs we have been having sleep/bed issues with DS since he turned 2. he was really ill for a few nights and we had just moved him into a big bed (we skipped toddler bed). Then he started coming into our room every night, anytime between 12 and 5. At first I was putting him back everytime he came out, but (especially as was just after my mc) I found that I couldn't sustain it. Some nights I was putting him to bed 8 times, or no sleep between 2 and 4 and then I had to be standing in front of a class the next day. I was wtrecked form lack of sleep so after a few weeks I made a decision to just let it happen.

He's going to bed in his own room (and getting better...now we just stand near the door once the light is out and he's gone within 5 minutes) but still tends to wake up when we go to bed. I either then take him back into his own bed and wait for him to fall asleep or let him fall asleep with us and then take him back. If he comes in after 12 I let him be - often I don't even hear him come in, just wake up at 3am and he's there!

I would never have imagined that we would be in effect co-sleeping, and thought everything could be solved easily by just putting him back but for us it didn't work like that. We;ve made the choice that this is just how things are. he wants to be with us and I'm picking my battles.

It's just so weird as he slept through from 4 months and has been really easy until he hit 2.

I know that doesn't really help but what I'm trying to say is that don't feel pressured that he HAS to sleep in his own bed. Sicne I've been open about our issues, so many of my friends have colleagues have been telling me stories about their own kids. It's commoner than you think (kids refusing to sleep in your own bed) and you shouldn't feel like a failure that DC won't sleep in their own bed all the time. Once I let go of the guilty feeling of "this makes me a bad parent" then I think I started getting a bit more sleep and not waking up when he came in.

OTOH I totally understand that you want DC1 out and in their own bed with DC2 on the way!

SwedeAway · 26/01/2014 14:13

Oh Hungry, I really hope you will feel more positive after your scan tomorrow. I am sure it will be perfectly fine! You must let us know as soon as you've been!

Ok so I am going to consider my creamy stuff a 'good' sign. Wish time would move quicker. You were right, this is the longest 2ww ever!!!

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 26/01/2014 13:48

I had creamy CM about then, but not on any other day in the 2WW.

I'm really hopeful for you, Swede! :-)

I wish I felt more pregnant today...keeping Better's pregnancy (lack of) symptoms and good scan in my mind!

SwedeAway · 26/01/2014 13:31

Hi everyone! As I seem to suffer from temporary memory loss as soon as I enter the 2wwSmile I just need to ask something. So my ovaries are still painful and I've got that weird very faint crampy feeling down below. This morning (sorry if tmi) I have quite creamy cm. These must all be good signs or am I totally losing it since I am only 5 or 6 dpo. Help!

dreamlullaby · 26/01/2014 10:26

Thank you everyone x
Ill keep you updated x

morerummorefun · 26/01/2014 09:24

dream sorry to hear about your mc I hope you get a bfp soon xx
mrs my friend has a similar problem getting her dd into her own bed just like kt or metal said its stime for tough mummy to come out it should only take a few weeks and possibly a Stair Gate and earplugs as used by my friend.
as for baby movements my little one had kicked afew times hut not strong enough for dh to feel but getting stronger every week. im 21weeks today and sure I got booted last night after eating a shit load of spicy food Grin.
I know I had more to say but I forget. . . ill be back later ha xx

Metalhead · 26/01/2014 07:44

Hi dream, sorry to hear about your mc. If your BFNs have been recently then I think it's very unlikely that your bleed in December was implantation as your hormone levels should be high enough by now to show up on an hpt. However, it could have just been a really weird short period, in which case you might have got pregnant since but it is still too early for a BFP now. I'm afraid like mrsm said there's not much you can do but wait and test again in a few days. Good luck!

mrsm it sounds like you might have a bit of a fight on your hands with your DS. A new bed might help, but if you've been quite lax so far with him coming in with you (and I'm not saying this in a judgey way!) then I think you will just have to be very strict from now on until he gets used to being in his own room. It will probably be hard for you both for a little while, but hopefully he'll get used to it soon and it will be worth it in the long run!

DD is still in her toddler bed at 3.7, but we will buy her a new single bed and probably move her to a new room before DC2 arrives.

mrsm22 · 26/01/2014 00:40

Hi Kt - I hope you enjoyed your Chinese! Thanks for your advice. He has a lovely room, the problem is he won't sleep in there because he wants to be with me. I've been really soft. I could look for some new things for his room, and definitely take him to look for a bed in feb. Do you know where is good for kids beds or can you recommend anywhere? Gosh your DS is 3 next sat, that's a nice gap you'll have as well. My DS is only just two so it's still all a bit hard to explain to him. When we went to ikea last weekend he was throwing himself on all the beds there although we didn't go to look at beds, just soft storage things for toys so I never saw whether they did any novelty sort of beds. Will you be having a party next sat? How far do you think you are now Kt?
Hi Dream - I'm really sorry to hear about your mc last year. It makes me so sad whenever I read anything like that. When did you do your pregnancy tests? I know sometimes you can do them too early to pick up if you are pregnant, I got a BFN when I first tested and I think a week or two later got my BFP. I had implamantation bleeding too, or a show so your bleeding may have been this possibly. If you haven't den a test for a while the only thing I could suggest is go but one of those better digital tests and try again. Otherwise it might be a case if waiting to see what happens. I have the needing to wee a lot and backache and I've had that since the start, I'm just 20 weeks. I hope you get your BFP soon, the waiting us frustrating.

dreamlullaby · 25/01/2014 21:48

congrats xxx
Hi has anyone been in the same situation as im feeling now,
I had a m/c mid october last year (heartbreaking) Norma lperiod 5 weeks later (november) in December i had a one day sort of period then followed by watery brown blood like spotting for one day and nothing now, ive took a pregnancy test like 4 times and they were all negative,i have signs of pregnancy , cramping headaches tiredness toilet every couple of mins stomach uncomfie backache , does anyone know what this could be thank you

Kt1991 · 25/01/2014 21:17

more I craved a chinese earlier so sent DH out to get me one, I sent him to the wrong one though haha.
mrs that sounds like a good plan getting him to choose one, the racing car ones are really cool, as DS is 3 next sat we've brought him a single cabin bed now, but currently have the toddler bed, you could choose few extra things to go in his room too? Has he got a favorite character? Could get some wall art stencils or pictures of them. Has he got a night light too?

mrsm22 · 25/01/2014 19:55

Hi Metal - yes your scan is basically the same time as mine. I'm 2.30pm! I'll be thinking of you knowing you're having yours too. Your day tomorrow sounds nice. I doubt anyone would say anything Metal, but if they do I would deny it, especially if you're not ready. Remember all the people I had guessing at work when I was about ten weeks but I denied it! People do understand when you get to 12 weeks why you kept it quiet.
Hungry - i will text you on Monday morning, don't you worry and yes defo send me a pic! All being well at my scan, I'll send u one on tues. Are you taking your DD? It says on our hospital appointment letters that children aren't allowed.
We are leaving my DS with my mum and dad.
Morerum - I too enjoy a Chinese, but oddly I've been fancying fish and chips! Terrible! I'm not normally a big fan either. I hope you enjoy your Chinese.
Better - how are you?
And Windy how are you doing?
My best friend has her first baby on Tuesday night and her birth was really similar to mine, in labour for hours, failed epidural and ended up with forceps like I did. It did bring back memories hearing her tale. God I hope my next time is much better. I know when it gets closer I will be scared but then won't we all probably be?
Morerum - what are your baby's movements like now? Just curious to compare with us being so close in dates. I am feeling movement each day now, and it's stronger than fluttering and probably what is describe as gentle kicking . DH put his hand on my tummy one night earlier this week and he could feel it for the first time.
I do have a bit of a worry about my DS. I just can't get him to sleep in his own room and bed. I know it's my fault for letting him sleep with us and come into bed but now I'm really worried in case I can't get him in his own room by June when new baby comes. I'm thinking that at the end if feb who'd. I've finished work and have more time that I will buy him a new bed and really try every night to get him in it until June, or should I say by June! He has a toddler or junior bed but I think it's too small as he likes our big bed. Does anyone have any suggestions or is this going to be really hard work? I was thinking that taking him to choose a nice bigger boys bed might make him want to sleep in it, I've heard you can get racing car beds and things so if I can find one that's also a single bed rather than a junior bed. It's worth a try. Do you all have toddler beds?

HungryHorace · 25/01/2014 18:36

I hope it is implantation, Swede. :-)
