So, here it is, Part 4! May it bring lots of BFP's for those of us still waiting and may it bring happy healthy pregnancies for those who are fabulously pregnant.

Hope your scan goes/went well truth.

Am I the only one who piactsastac? (pees in a cup then sticks a stick in a cup)? Always worried I wouldn't be able to poas for full 5 seconds to get accurate result.

gingerbread a white lie would be understandable, get things moving and all that. But if you're in two minds about whether you even want to take things to that stage then maybe wait another month or so? Seems to me like once you get the ball rolling and tests booked it might take on its own momentum and you'll end up going down a road that right now you feel uncertain about. Having said that if you have all your options clearly set out it might help make up your mind.

Regardless, fingers crossed for FFF and hopefully your next GP appt will be to tell them you're pregnant.

morerum would it help to work out how many working days you have til you start ML? So rather than thinking 5 weeks, for example, you can think - just ten days

Still smiling for you swede x

HungryHorace · 05/02/2014 14:26

ATruth, I was thinking your scan was due soon as mine was last week. Good luck. :-) I'm sure it'll be fine though.

Ginger, I'd start around CD8-10 on OPKs. The cheapie ones are best done about 2-3pm and you shouldn't drink too much for an hour or so beforehand. The smiley ones are FMU so easier!

I love POAS. But my POAS days are behind me now! Fun while it lasted!

Gingerelle · 05/02/2014 14:00

my bumper bag of cheapo preg tests just arrived from amazon! tempted to poas just cos I can but pretty sure it'd be pointless.

can someone tell me about opks? I've never used them before. do you test everyday?

Gingerelle · 05/02/2014 13:54

wishing you the best for your scan truth....I had absolve no symptoms with my first preg and was absolutely convinced the scan would be bad news and then there she was, wriggling around. however I have no doubts I will be just as scared next time around. hope it's soon so not too much more worrying xxxx

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 05/02/2014 13:50

I've just skimmed back through the thread.

Sweeeeeeede!!!! Grin Grin Grin Thanks Grin Thanks Congratulations!!!! I hope it all goes smoothly for you this time and will be thinking of you throughout.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 05/02/2014 13:48

Hi Ladies, I'm sorry I've not been on for AGES. I've been working myself up a bit about my scan. It's this afternoon and I'm convinced it's going to reveal an mmc so I've been avoiding the conception/pregnancy boards for a while. Now that it's almost upon me I needed to come and stress to people who will understand though. Arrrrggh. Breathe Truth, breathe!

HungryHorace · 05/02/2014 13:31

I'd be tempted by the white lie too, Gingerbread. Just to get testing on the go.

I've gone for the Oyster Max. It's lovely. I've found a black one near me and have a grape carry cot en route from someone else as the pram has 2 seats but no carry cot.

So excited. :-) Just need the cosy toes to come, hopefully by Friday, and we can start using it.

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 05/02/2014 13:16

Ah glad I could be of service Better! And rum did you make them too? They are delicious, I have brought one into work today for an afternoon treat with a Brew, looking forward to it! I love baking, DH loves making bread too, so our house always smells amazing. Poor you with coeliacs Better, I don't think I could live without bread, how long ago were you diagnosed? DH is doing very well with FFF bless him. He is such a trooper, we both decided to start eating a bit healthier this year but he has also stayed away from the booze, and he does like a beer after work on a weekend. Not long to go now anyway, another week or so. He's also very obliging with dtd!
new pram is very exciting Hungry! Which one did you go for in the end? Boo to the failed nc, won't mention it again!
I think most GPs would say the same Better, I was going to tell a little white lie, naughty I know, but I don't think my mental state can handle another 4 months of disappointment before we start getting the ball rolling. God I don't even want to think about it getting to that stage, it just sucks. I'd almost rather just accept only one child and get on with my life.

HungryHorace · 05/02/2014 13:08

But you're almost at 5 already thanks to late OV and bloody minded willpower! :-) So that shortens the wait.

SwedeAway · 05/02/2014 12:58

Thanks everyone! Yes they will monitor closely this time. My gyno will do first scan at 8 weeks (remember its all private medical insurance here so I've got to pay for it so can pretty much get a scan when I want). Still 8 weeks seems so far away (given that I didn't even get there last time). Will try to focus on the positive for sure!

It's OK, better. I was outed on that name by an unknown friend of the MiL and I NC'd apart from on threads where I was safe using it, IYSWIM.

Clearly MN went bonkers this morning and kept it for me on other threads. Sigh.

Next thread I may NC again, as it'll be obvious in this one! :-)

I'm feeling not that pregnant today again. I also can't wait for my 16 week appt! I have the internal washing machine thing going though, so I'm assuming all is OK.

I need to go out today, but it's pissing down and windy. Maybe I'll drive, but I could do with the exercise. Ah well!

Ooh...picking up my new (to me!) pram tomorrow. Very excited!

BetterNotBitter · 05/02/2014 12:52

Crossed posts gingerbread I too am a burrier!! I'm also always conscious of them just turning you away like you're being silly. My friend had similar issues and the go told her not to come back until it had been a year trying if that helps.

BetterNotBitter · 05/02/2014 12:50

Congrats swede I hope you can manage not to worry too much. Will the monitor you more this time?

Oh lord hungry apologies for outing the name change! I should have kept my mouth shut! I didn't think! sorry! Thanks re peanut butter, I am getting some this afternoon and copying your cookies gingerbread I'm ok thanks hungry getting bigger! but just looks fat not bump like yet!! Can't wait for 16 week midwife appt, really feel like I need the reassurance of the heartbeat as still having trouble with bleeding. How are you?

morerum at least it's only 2 days like you say, your poor dh, he must feel awful. How's the business going?

gingerbread I'd just go eod this time! that should easily be enough and keep the swimmers strong. And anyway, it's gonna happen this time cos it's FFF so it has to.

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 05/02/2014 12:47

No I didn't Hungry, I keep putting it off, I'm a bit daunted to go down that route as it means actually admitting that there is a problem and further investigation will be required. Stupid I know because I do think there is an issue and the quicker I can get on with sorting it the better! Grr. DD was just so quick and easy...how can 3 years make such a difference! I think I'm also worried about the gp not caring, and just giving me a blank look when I start wittering on about luteal phases and thyroid problems and PCOS. I'm definately a -bury my head in the sand and hope it goes away- kind of girl.

HungryHorace · 05/02/2014 12:31

Did you make a GP appt regarding your luteal phase, Gingerbread?

I'm a CD15 smiley person too, but with a 29-30 day cycle. I know people talk about vit B6, I think, for a short luteal phase, but I'm wary of natural remedies and would prefer to see a GP!

HazyShadeOfWinter · 05/02/2014 12:23

Congratulations Swede!!! Hooray! Grin

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 05/02/2014 12:02

YESSS! I knew it too! Congratulations swede! Enjoy the positive test for now and try not to worry, at least the midwives are aware this time and will do what they can for you. Sorry hungry i also suspected it was you but didnt want to say anything! I am on cd13, been using opkssince cd8,dtd cd 10 and cd12. Got my positive last cycle on cd 15 of a 24 day cycle so not great Hmm but i guess ill be expecting one tomorrow or friday. Sorry forgotten what else was said im on my phone!

Gingerelle · 05/02/2014 11:52

guinnessgirl · 05/02/2014 11:02

Ahhhhhh congratulations Swede! So glad one of us got a BFP at least Grin try not to worry if you can - though I know it's easier said than done x

SwedeAway · 05/02/2014 11:00

Thanks Hungry - Just confirmed with digi (2-3 weeks). Excited and scared at the same time. DH is over the moon. Need to focus on other things as my mind is working over time. Flying to Cape Town on business for the day tomorrow, should keep my mind of things for a day anyway.

Knew it, Swede!

Congratulations. :-)

Fx for a boring, textbook, pregnancy.

SwedeAway · 05/02/2014 10:00

Hello, sorry have been in back to back meetings all morning.

So I POAS'd this morning and guess what...bfp. Whilst being very excited I am also absolutely petrified as I am so worried that something is going to go wrong again.

On my way to the pharmacy now to pick up some hormones which my gyno has prescribed which will help to prevent mc again (hopefully).

Anyway, have to run but just wanted to share the news. Thank you all for keeping fx for me:)
