Hello everyone new to this site but my husband and I decided to ttc and the first try was the first catch as I done a clear blue test yesterday and got a bfp :) so I'm assuming I'm 4weeks as period wasn't due til today anyway wondering if you can help..I get like twinges now and again in my right side by my hip bone and sounds silly but I'm sure I can feel like my ovary "/ my oldest son is now 5 and I didn't notice any of this as I was 18 weeks gone when I found out so I'm a little worried and people say I have a long way to 12 week mark...so nervous :(

lovesmycake · 14/03/2014 11:09

Oh ginger im so sorry big big hugs - how are you feeling? Has it made you feel any differently about phoning for your results. Have you got any plans for the weekend to take your mind of it? Also a few posts back you asked us to remind you about squishing your DS and how happy it makes you. It will happen for you just sadly not this month Thanks

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 14/03/2014 09:22

Morning all, well I have started the new thread, so lets move the chatting!
Rather than start the new thread off with bad news I thought I would do it here - AF got me this morning. I don't bloody believe it, 3 days early, giving me a cycle of 23 days and an LP of 7 days. WTF is going on. I'm never going to get a baby am I??
Glad your results were all good better, was thinking of you last night.

Kt1991 · 14/03/2014 08:58

Morning everyone sorry for my lack of posting again! I'm starting to feel better thank to those who asked, DS now had a virus though so more rest for us this week! He is forever getting them and they never seem to do anything about it! Just calpol and rest which is what we have been doing! He does have asthma too, but inhalers don't seem to help :/

Glad your scan went well better! So you didn't find out the sex?!
How's work going hungry
Welcome to badger! This is a lovely thread to be on and very lucky!
ginger how you doing? And yes do start our next thread! Hope this is a lucky one for you :)
mrs don't worry about DS with his eating, my DS is exactly the same still, he refuses to eat anything apart from chicken nugget different meats in like a roast, and jacket potatoes and sausages, it's really horrible sometimes cause I just want him to eat more but we are there for hours trying to make him and it doesn't get us anywhere!! One thomg everyone says to me is he won't starve he will eat if he's hungry, he will eat loads of fruit though! Just hope this next baby isn't as fussy!
Good luck to anyone who is testing soon too!

What's everyone's plans for the weekend?

BetterNotBitter · 14/03/2014 08:35

Morning all.

I think it's really positive that you're enjoying work hungry though I agree it'd probably be harder at first for you if was at nursery. Is your dh enjoying his time with her?

gingerbread I don't have a problem with self study when it's a topic I'm interested in & compared to my first degree this is a much 'easier' subject so I'm finding it fine so far. Did you ring for the test results? If not, ring today otherwise it might bug you over the weekend that you can't ring!

swede I had a massive 'bump' from 8-11weeks, unhip able size. Then it disappeared and I got really worried! But according to my consultant it's actually impossible for you to have a baby bump that early as the uterus doesn't move up until 12 weeks. Anything before that is just bloating. My bloating bump went at 11 weeks and my baby bump only just popped out 2weeks ago at 18weeks! How are you feeling? How's the nausea?

The scan was good thank goodness!! Baby looks perfect, (it was the 20 week ginger) she thoroughly checked the spine and the skin over the spine plus connections from spine to brain (spins bifida is the main problem the baby was more susceptible to) and it's all fine. Forgot how much you can see at the 20 week scan, we saw hands, feet, eyes, nose, top lip, bottom lip & everything else!! hungry my placenta is anterior too! which explains the reduced movements compared to when I was pregnant with dd. So that's good to know. In terms of growth (another problem area for me & something my idiot midwife frightened me about) that's perfect too, right on the line. So happy day!

On the subject of toddlers eating, dd has always, from being weaned, been a brilliant eater, eating anything and everything and a good amount. Until 1week ago when she has gone full circle. For the last week she refuses everything, if she has it, she'll have a tiny but then say she doesn't like it. She won't eat meals, only snack and is generally being really odd with food. I think it's just a phase so not going to worry about it. She's going through a very self important phase too (she's 2 &2 months), when we came home from the hospital and were telling my mum about the scan she stood in the middle of the room and shouted "not you all talk about baby, talk about me!"....... Oh lord!!

28 weeks morerum that's flown over. How's work going?

Hope everyone else us ok, what a long post!!

BadgersandToddlers · 14/03/2014 08:24

Cake- I know I will be going mad this time next week symptom spotting! I've banned myself from doing it till at least 7 dpo. Do you think this month is your month? How long you been trying for?

Mrs- I miss watching my belly move and feeling baby kicks you must be so excited - getting jealous!

Morerum - it took 4 cycles from saying 'yeah let's do it' with dd but only 1 cycle of being able to properly try as before he worked long distance all week so we only had weekends. Pleased to see you got your bfp!

This time two years ago today I got my bfp with dd just a couple of days before mothers day. When IRS time to test this month it will also be a couple of days before mothers day - so maybe I will get lucky and history will repeat itself (wishful thinking) - however it would make December a very expensive month for me if I had both dcs birthdays and Christmas!

SwedeAway · 14/03/2014 08:20

Just came back from the Traffic Department and have submitted the application. It was as awful as expected. Anything official in this country is a bloody nightmare. They are always rude, give you conflicting info and generally try to make the experience as unpleasant as possible for you. Today I was told I had to go somewhere else and that the docs that I had brought were insufficient. But I had phoned ahead and stood my ground and finally got someone who was willing to help. Ah, Africa, got to love itAngry

mrs how's the bed situation going my dd stayed at my. dsis in wed and slept all night right through till 8:30! wtf im lucky to get till 6:45!! love all the movements ill be 28 weeks on Sunday. like hungry my placenta was at the front with dd so masked so much movement but this time ... wow its like 2 babies wriggling around (defo only1 thank goodness) dd loves talking to my belly its so cuteSmile
hungry how are getting on at work it is sometimes nice to gat a wee rest but only if you don't work with complete gringy bastards!
calling I posted a pick of my swollen tummy ay 9 weeks on the fb page there was no hiding it!
Better hope your scan went well looking forward to an update! xx
Hope ive not missed anyone out im sorry if I have! xx

CallingAllEngels · 14/03/2014 07:11

Gah! My post just disappeared!

mrsm22 · 14/03/2014 06:51

Just managed to send that little post above so I think it's safe to continue, must have been a signal issue last night.
Better - how did your scan go yesterday? I hope everything is ok. Please post soon and let us know.
Ginger - I think you should definitely start the next thread. As founder of this party, it has certainly been a lucky thread for me so I hope the next one will be lucky for you. It's definitely your turn now Ginger. It makes a lot of sense what you said about your DD and eating and how you should look at the week as a whole because at the moment my DS is tending to pick at things but when I think of the week as a whole it probably does even itself out. My DS likes a good range of different foods but I think at the moment he's suffering with his big back teeth coming through which doesn't help but normally he's not a bad little eater.
The boiler is now fixed thankfully too Ginger but it's been a real pain this week, had to have engineers out 3 days in a row to get it sorted. Fingers crossed it'll stay fixed and keep working. On the plus side, it's nice to be able to hang washing outside now that the weather has got much better but it's a real pain getting up to no hot water.
I think you should definitely get your blood test results, I'm sure it will be fine but think you should ring and find out for peace of mind.
Hungry - so glad you're enjoying being at work and that your DD is having fun quality time with your DH. Are you doing 5 days on this secondment or less than that? Do you know what will happen after you have baby number 2, as in will it still be your secondment and same days etc or will you do less days/hours?
Loves - my DS definitely has his own mind. He's really self-willed and only does what he wants when he wants.
Well I'm 27 weeks today and getting lots of lovely movement especially on a night at bed time. We can watch my bump moving as well as feel him kicking. I love feeling him move, it's an amazing feeling. I have an antenatal appointment a week on Monday at the hospital as I'll be 28 weeks. It's a standard hospital appointment because I'm rhesus negative blood type so have to go for blood tests and the standard 28 week anti D injection. Hope everyone has a nice day, will check in later to see if Better has updated about her scan.

mrsm22 · 14/03/2014 06:29

Hi everyone, Really annoying - I did post last night and quite a long one but for some reason I couldn't get it to send so had to disregard it. I'll try to re-write what I tried to post last night and hopefully it'll send now!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 13/03/2014 20:48

Ah swede!! How annoying! After you waited so long as well deciding on which car to go for!! Hopefully they get their arses into gear and sort your traffic security number out soon, or you could always ring them and say belligerently 'don't you know I'm pregnant..!'

They do say you show quicker with your second, so I suppose it is possible. Could you not make it a habit of always appearing to eat cake/chocolate at work so they just think you are getting fat Grin

Holiday sounds lovely, you are flying on my birthday!

Better how did the scan go?? I hope everything is/you are ok?

SwedeAway · 13/03/2014 17:15

Hello all, is it possible to start showing already?? My belly has certainly got a bump on it. I caught a few people looking curiously at my belly today. Think I need to start wearing baggier clothes (difficult when you work in a bank). Very early still so maybe I am just bloated but getting difficult to hide.

Sometimes this country's bureaucracy drives me up the wall. I have finally found a car to buy, organized my finance and deposit and was all ready to go, but no... Suddenly there are new regulations in place which means that anyone with a foreign drivers license (i have my UK license still) must obtain a traffic security number. So I must now go and apply for this which includes submitting passport, marriage certificate, visa etc etc. in theory this should be a fairly quick process but in this place, nothing happens quickly so I am not holding my breath. So annoyedAngry Was really looking forward getting the car and now I have to wait, lord knows how long. Sorry for the rant. I am just so tired of always being treated differently just because I am foreign.

On a happier note though I booked mine and DD's flights yesterday for our yearly trip to Sweden. Leaving on 19 June. I am so excited. I love going home to see my family and friends, can't wait!

How is everyone today? Better how did your scan go??

SwedeAway · 13/03/2014 16:57

Ginger - go ahead with new thread for sure!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 13/03/2014 13:14

Also, hurray for a good nights sleep Engels!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 13/03/2014 13:14

Oh and if no one minds I would like to start the next thread, try out my luck again as a thread starter Grin

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 13/03/2014 13:13

Hello everyone,
Better I have everything crossed for you today, I do so hope you are in the 40%. Is this your 12 week scan? I'm sorry I'm struggling to remember where everyone is up to!
hungry that is a good point about working hard to get to where you are now, I think the balance between work and home is a difficult one to find, so it's good if you can find a happy compromise for yourself. And I bet DD is having so much fun with DH! my DD is such a daddys girl.
Gutted about your boiler mrs! Hopefully you won't need it much soon with all of this lovely weather Smile My DD goes through stages not eating/eating too, I remember a HV saying to me once if you looked at the week as a whole you would see that the amount they eat does balance out, some days she eats like a horse, other days only picks at things.
better your course does sound really interesting, I would quite like to get into something like that so you'll have to let me know how it goes! Not sure I have the motivation for self study though. Mrs I would also like to go back and do a psychology degree! It's safe to say I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.....
cake as long as it makes you happy you carry on! Hopefully it was implantation for you. On the topic of ridiculous symptom spotting if I had to pick I would say I am feeling hungrier these last few days or maybe just greedy, and I have been getting a few twinges. However, I ridiculously POAS this morning, only 7dpo, and of course it was bfn. I know it was stupidly early, but I'm not feeling confident for this month either. The nurse said I could ring up today to see if the blood test results are in but I think I would rather bury my head in the sand......

HungryHorace · 13/03/2014 12:49

Mrs, not good re the boiler. :-/ I do know a good boiler person, but not near you, sadly.

And I'll probably only have 5 months off with this baby, 6 tops, as we can't afford any more than that, sadly.

Then I'll get back to work and qualify, then see what happens after that.

Doing the tax credits calculation, I think it's easier for DH to continue with childcare, but I need to sit and do the maths!

And I kind of miss DD, but she's with DH, so I know she's in good hands and having fun! I'd probably be different if she was at nursery.

I do enjoy using my brain though, so like working. I liked the time off too, but I've worked hard to get here, so can't waste it.

lovesmycake · 13/03/2014 12:46

Better good luck for your scan today
hungry glad your enjoying work how is your dd finding it all? i found it easier to relax about my time at work once it was obvious that DS was happy at nursery but I do think these things take time.
mrs at least you know he can go to his bed in his room when he chooses to that he isn't scared of it IYSWIM?
hello badgers i'm in the middle of my TWW at the moment and already symton spotting I had really bad stomach pains which could possibly maybe have been implantation - even just writing that makes me want to give myself a slap but I'm allowed to be silly optimistic because it makes me happy, right? :)

Had a giggle at writing when he 'chooses' too as DS is being a bit bloody minded at the moment, if only their choices were a little more rational eh?!

mrsm22 · 13/03/2014 11:21

Hi Better - just wanted to say good luck for your scan today! Thinking of you and hope all goes well!
Hi Hungry - Glad you're enjoying work. You never know how you're going to feel until you actually go back and try it. Are you missing your DD when you're at work or are you not finding that too bad? Do you think you'll have a year off with baby 2 and go back again then or just see how it pans out?
Hi Loves and Engels - my DS has gone a bit backwards with the bed time routine. No problems getting him to go to sleep or even sleep through the night but back in our bed I'm afraid but I'll keep trying. His eating is still not great either, he will only eat what he wants when he wants and sadly won't have breakfast at the moment as he just wants a bottle. He's only two though so hopefully it will all just come.
How's everyone else? We've not had a great week unfortunately as we've been having boiler issues so not hot water or heating last night and had to have a British Gas engineer out the last 3 days. All fixed now but seems all they want to do is sell you a boiler. Out of interest , if anyone knows a good plumber and boiler person please let me know as would be handy to know for future if we do ever need to get a new boiler. Companies like British Gas cost an arm and a leg!

BetterNotBitter · 13/03/2014 11:20

Yes mrs the fees are ridiculous but I've already paid off my tuition fee loan for my first degree and our thinking is that this one will be worth the investment! I lived right in the city centre up by Leeds uni whilst doing my degree for the first two years then moved to headingley for the last year. When I moved out to Ilkley I was still going into the city centre every day, I used to work on East parade, which was a bit too handy for Greek street and the bars haha!! Life before children! We have quite abit of big stuff to buy really but mainly because we want to. We need a new breast pump and new monitors plus little bits and pieces but we want a new pushchair too, the one we have would be fine but a new one will be better!

Thanks hungry I'm dreading it. Finding it very difficult to get the balance between positive thinking whilst also preparing ourselves for the worst. There's something like a 60% chance of some problem for the baby and I think it's around 15% that it's a very big problem. Hopefully we'll be in the lucky 40% damn high risk :( haven't discussed the finding out the sex debate as feels too much like jinxing things by assuming all will be ok. Either way we'll know by the end of the day.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Good luck badgers the 2ww is awful!

HungryHorace · 13/03/2014 08:04

Hi Badgers, welcome and good luck!

Any symptoms yet, people towards the end of the 2WW?

Good luck, Engels. Fx for you. :-)

I'm soooo tired. Think I might hibernate this weekend! On the plus side, I'm really enjoying work.

Better, DD's teething is causing sleep disturbance for everyone, after she finally started sleeping through the other week. We've been giving her a small bottle to comfort her if she won't settle with a cuddle. Hopefully she'll realise night isn't for food, as she was going 11 hours without milk. Don't want to ruin that.

Good luck with your scan today. What did you decide with your DH re finding out the sex?

I actually quite like working, I'm sad to say. Hopefully having done this, going back next time won't be as hard as I imagined it'd be this time.

Sorry if I'm missing anyone out, can't scroll up on my phone.

BadgersandToddlers · 13/03/2014 07:22

Thanks everyone. I love seeing threads were people get there much wanted bros, was having a read last night as I had the worst night in months with dd. She absolutely would not settle.
CallAllEngels I think I am a two days behind you (due on 25th) Hope you get your bfp this month!
