Over here all breastfeeding ttcers! Welcome to our thread - a place for us to come for support, information and to talk about the extra challenges of ttc while still breastfeeding (or expressing like myself).

I thought I should go ahead and start the new thread as the old one is about to fill up and I didn't want anyone to get lost (hope that's ok Waiting and that you haven't already done this and I just missed it!)

For anyone who is new to the thread or needs a reminder, here are a few links to some useful websites (thanks Waiting for putting these together)

Today is day 32 and I think 13 DPO. Longest cycle in the last 12 months has been 33 days. If no AF, maybe test tomorrow? But, DP only went and collected MIL tonight! Argh!

When's your birthday MrsC? 21 years old?

MrsConfusion · 10/06/2014 21:53

Welcome Angus and all newbies. Surely someone is testing soon? Zoo I think you might be first... I've slightly given up on this month given my abject confusion about where I am in the cycle, just occasionally DTD when work madness (his and mine!) and a sleep-refusing toddler allow.... Blush

MrsD are you feeling better? All settled down again after last week?

Sunshine is gorgeous, wish I was out in it instead of in work. I'm v lucky that I don't work Wednesdays so planning some early birthday treats for tomorrow Smile

Right, I might be lazy and take myself off to bed to be grumpy about toothache. Or possibly sinus infection. Either way it hurts in a funny place in my face. Grump. Sleep well ladies, despite sore boobs, over-hot toddlers and nightfeeding babies!

zoobaby · 10/06/2014 20:46

Hi Angus, a bit quiet around here today. Everyone must be out enjoying the sunshine. Or maybe getting in some last minute DTD before World Cup kicks off? I have to say, if you can't work, you might as well get busy with other work.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 09/06/2014 14:01

Hello - mind if I pull up a chair?

DD is nearly 7 months and we decided last night we'd start trying for no.2. We're currently based overseas where I don't have permission to work so we thought we'd get on with expanding the family!

I'm BF-ing dd and hope to continue as long as possible.

FloweryBoots · 09/06/2014 13:05

We must have had a similar scenario in the last European tournament. Think that must have been when DC2 was concieved! I remember insisting that DH had to DTD even though his best bud was staying with us one night before they went off on a boys football trip the next day (DH saying we can't possibly with him sleeping in the same house). But he did, and I strongly suspect that was the one that got us DD!

zoobaby · 09/06/2014 11:32

Haha - just imagining how Flowery's DH may recall World Cup 2012 as the year he got to watch lots of football and have lots of sex. But hopefully it won't come to that!

zoobaby · 09/06/2014 11:31

So Flowery, you've been relegated to intermission? I'm so glad that DP isn't a fan of football. We just have to negotiate his worklife (which isn't as nicely scheduled as the World Cup).

FloweryBoots · 09/06/2014 11:03

Zoobaby, excellent news. No I wont be due to OV around the start of the world cup, but could be due to test (or get AF). I wanted to test if no AF so I could drink with them if -ve, which I expect, but DH says no testing till they've gone home! He will watch every single game of the world cup and has already warned me we have 'a sex window between second and third match of the day' if we're required to be at it! Nice.

I am full of cold and feeling utterly rotten adn sorry for myself. Hot squash and parecetamol not cutting it and of course don't feel I can take anything else just in case I'm pg. Sticking kiddies infront of cbeebies while I nurse my head that feels like it's about to explode. urgh.

zoobaby · 09/06/2014 10:00

Oh, but I got some good news. MIL won't be coming after all as she's needed to look after her other DGCs.

zoobaby · 09/06/2014 09:58

Thanks MrsD and weebairn for the info about breat tenderness. Sounds a bit more promising. I've been feeling awful all night, massive headache, hot flushing and woken to find TWO coldsores starting on my lips. I swear I look a right sight! I'm either pregnant or about to fall down sick!

MrsC DS' room is the same. I have one of those gro company window blackout blinds and it's amazing how it helps regulate temperature. We used it all through the winter (very helpful) and I've left it up with the hotter weather. It definitely keeps the room cooler. It does restrict breeze though, so some positives and negatives all wrapped up in one.

weebairn · 08/06/2014 21:35

zoobaby I had no breast tenderness this pregnancy at all, and boobs did not get any bigger till around 16 weeks - very different to first time where they were sore and grew immediately. I think it must have been the breastfeeding.

mrsdiddlydoo · 08/06/2014 16:20

Mrs C we get the uh oh on repeat when DS gets stuck in his cot, throws his bunny out or has lost his dummy. Very cute, but definitely with you on the less cute at 4am. We managed to find a cheap nice 1 tog sleeping bag in TKMaxx yesterday so less uh ohs this morning!

Flowery OMG, So sorry on the roll call. Wasn't meant to be left in there but was brain dead. Lame excuse. We did the same this the first month of us TTC again. I'm sure a houseful of men won't notice what you're up to when the footie is on! Won't be testing here for a while, but I want some good news so fingers and toes all crossed for you!

Zoo I didn't experience the same amount of breast sensitivity in my last albeit brief pregnancy. Or even sudden boob growth like I had 1st time round. Sensitive nipples though. Big yes there. I'm guessing everyone is probably different.

Mister Hope AF stays away and this is your month.

I'm having a sunny but rubbish weekend. Going to get back out in the sun before it vanishes for the year. Hope everyone has managed to get out in the sun!

MrsConfusion · 08/06/2014 14:45

Hello ladies, hope you're all managing to enjoy a little bit of sunshine today. I'm sneaking 10 mins of tennis watching while waiting for DD to wake from nap. Ought to wake her up really otherwise bedtime will be tricky, but... there's tennis to watch and I'd always rather she woke naturally.

MrsD that sounds proper scary, hope you're resting and EPU/GP were helpful.

Sending good vibes to everyone on 2ww. I'm frankly lost about where we are this cycle, after mega-AF, then work is crazy and now the cat has fleas - nearly DTD last night until I thought I felt a flea in bed! Really ruined the mood...

Zoo that sounds really tricky, how long is she staying?

I'm so out of touch on world cup (not really into football and luckily neither is DH, but I normally a more clued up that this) - maybe if we get some good results that will lead to celebratory SWI and lots of BFPs this month Grin

Right, must stop wittering and get on with ordering 0.5 tog sleeping bag, DD's room is getting too hot already (it's tiny, two outside walls and impossible to keep cool, but if she sleeps in just PJs/shorts, she loves sticking her legs through the gaps in the cot, then shouting out 'uh oh, stuck' which gets a little less cute at 4am....)

zoobaby · 08/06/2014 14:21

Flowery please tell me that you're not ovulating around World Cup kick-off I most certainly did not just google that. Yikes. I bet that'd really test DH's commitment to getting pg!

FloweryBoots · 08/06/2014 06:40

Zoobaby, that is a bit tricky.

We will have 3 of DHs male friends staying with us around the time I'm due to test as they're coming to stay for the first few days of the world cup. In fact I think one is staying the whole first week.

zoobaby · 07/06/2014 22:40

Hi there. Hmmm. Not sure how the old 2ww is progressing, other than SLOW. I was reading a few of the older messages on this thread and saw radiator asking about whether breast sensitivity was reduced due to BFing. There was no definitive answer, but I really do hope so as the only "symptoms" so far would be cramping all afternoon and night at about 7days po. I remember aching breasts being one of the first signs with DS. Who knows really?

I may possible test on 10 June but after looking at my previous dates, I have gone 33 days so I'll possibly hang out until 12 June. Only problem, my MIL will be here for this time period! Don't much fancy having a conversation about it with her, irrespective of the outcome, as we won't be able to celebrate or commiserate without telling her.

junebaby2011 · 07/06/2014 22:16

Will test on Wednesday..

FloweryBoots · 07/06/2014 21:49

Ahh sorry for the -ve test boulie.

Mrsdidly, that sounds pretty tough. Hope you're doing OK.

Te he he. I didn't really mean my lube mix up needed to be included in the roll call, but at least it's made someone grin! I'd quite like this cycle just over since I think chances are slim to negligable. But of course whos to know when it will be! Actually, I re counted cycle lengths and they aren't as varried as I'd origionally thought, must have been tired when I counted up last time. Forgotton all the numbers almost instantly, but no cycles as long as 45 days after all so that's good.

I've never been one for testing until AF actually late but since things are rather more varied these days and we have a few 'things' to go to (party, wedding, friends staying for a chunk of the world cup) etc. I think I might test if I get to 32 days and no Af. Which is next Satruday. So I'm not counting DPO, I shall be dioing a count down to test da.! TD -7 today!

Is any one else likely to be testing soon? Those BFP bouy me up!

Thanks for the updated roll call mrsd! That sounds horrible, thank goodness you were with a sympathetic friend! Did the doc give you any idea of what to expect from now? Definitely agree that you shouldn't feel guilty about missing work in the circumstances, hope you have a better weekend.

Sorry to hear you had similar June. Your symptoms sound hopeful though, hope the 2ww doesn't drag too much!

Hi boulie, sorry to hear about your negative test. My body did lots of weird things before AF came back (semi) regularly and I now seem to get sore nipples, mild nausea and really over-emotional every cycle during the 2ww which I never did pre-DS, so not necessarily in your head but I think BF can make it harder to read these things as hormones can be a bit all over the place. Very annoying when it gets your hopes up for no reason!

Hi Flowery, oops but Grin at your spermicidal lube! Based on your cycle lengths I'd say you might well still have time this cycle, so get your weebairn on!

Hi Meamomma, mrsd has given you a good link for abbreviations but what you might not find on there is reference to the weebairn method, a phrase specific to this thread which roughly translates to having as much sex as you possibly can (and enjoying it!)

Hi zoobaby, how's your 2ww going? Your strategy sounds like a good 'un to me. I don't think a short term increase in night feeding would have a significant impact on fertility, but if it is more sustained it might I suppose. Everyone is different so hard to guess really. Are the teeth through yet?

MrsC Shock 14 days? Poor you! Is everything back to normal now, have you ov yet do you think?

Good to hear from you weebairn and great to hear that all was well with the scan.

Mad hope the ms eases off soon, you must be about 10 weeks now is that right? How long did ms last with your DS? Take it easy if you can (not likely with a toddler!) With DS my morning sickness stayed until about 16 weeks and I still had occasional episodes out of the blue after that, but it was much easier to manage after 12 weeks which I think is quite common so hopefully things will get easier for you over the next few weeks.

I'm due AF on Monday according to my recent cycle lengths, but as I have no idea when I ovulated it could be sooner or later than that. Feeling nothing much, but did loose my temper with DH yesterday which is often a sign of imminent AF (I'm never usually short-tempered). I have very little hope for this cycle so not planning to do any tests or similar, will just wait and see what happens. I might bite the bullet and go to see my GP in the next few weeks as this is the second cycle with mid-cycle spotting and really really long, so I'd like to know what's going on!

thanks june and boulie. Have a very understanding friend with a 3 week old so perfect place for an accident. Plenty of maternity pads available. Just all unexpected and still all new to me. Day's just been made better by doc agreeing I shouldn't go to work today so feeling much less guilty. Brew all round.

boulie - sorry your body is playing tricks on you. Any sign of AF arriving?

boulie · 06/06/2014 08:33

Mrsdiddly, that doesn't sound fun at all :(

Turns out it was all in my head, another negative test. I'm so cross with myself because I really thought I was pg. argh! Can't explain the sore nipples, spotting etc.

Hope someone else has more luck than me this week!

junebaby2011 · 05/06/2014 21:46

Poor you mrsdiddly, I had something similar this month.. I thought I has stopped bleeding and then had really heavy gushes of blood-mine was straight after af though so never contacted doc.. I'm sure it is just the mc doing it to us! Hope you had an understanding friend!

mrsdiddlydoo · 05/06/2014 21:06

Meamomma - think there's a list with some of the acronyms on it... er... here... www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

Fingers crossed for you boulie!

Well my TTC world seems proper messed up right now. Thought we better start trying this month last night but DH had a 'headache' or something. Probably too many computer games. Kind of glad in the end. Sorry if its tmi (look away now!) ... but actually thought I had wet myself at 4am this morning. Turns out it was blood. Been bleeding heavily with clots and all sorts going on all day. Thought it was under control and popped to a friends for lunch and managed to make a mess on her carpet! And bathmat! So SO SO glad it didn't happen at work. So I've gone from happily moving on and staying positive to blumming heck! Spoke to EPU this morning and saw GP this afternoon and seeing them again in the morning.

Think that scuppers our TTC efforts this month. Got large glass of Wine and Cake and icecream on its way. DH is being a star. Sorry for the kind of off topic rant.

I need some good news. Who's in the 2ww? Anyone due to POAS soon? Hope everyone is ok and busy with their weebairn efforts! Wink

mrsdiddlydoo · 05/06/2014 20:54
