  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Oooh beets whoop! That is a wonderful start to the year. Good luck, your DH can't stay grumpy for long now. Tell us what he says, please?

seasides, you guys are definitely grasping the wotsit by the horn, I hope AF doesn't arrive for you.

We are in the window, and I am trying to keep the enthusiasm up a bit. I thought a wife greeting a DH fully dressed but with no undies on might be entertaining, but after my post children to bed apocalypse pick me up bath, I couldn't figure out how to go undies free (tights and no pants, ew, jeans, ouch), so I was still naked when DH got home, pondering what to wear. Then I took DS swimming today, lost my bra, so he is about to discover a rather liberated wife when we go upstairs! It was a slightly drafty school run today Wink Wish us luck...

Seasides · 10/01/2014 21:50

Oh, just read that your dh is too grumpy to be told-I hope you cheer him right up very soon.

Seasides · 10/01/2014 21:49

Oh amazing! That's fantastic beets! I hope you know what I mean when I say delighted you were with us so briefly Grin

Parsley2506 · 10/01/2014 21:47

Omg beets! Congratulations!
Is there a special prize for fastest win ever?! You've barely joined before you'll (definitely, no doubts at all) be leaving us!

Tell us your secrets! Wink

Beetsarebisgusting · 10/01/2014 21:22

Ooh me, me, me, I'm a lucky pee-er Grin I haven't had a chance to post yet today, this is the first minute I've had to myself. Dh is in a foul mood so I haven't told him yet.

Now I just need to keep it inside and growing...

Seasides · 10/01/2014 21:06

Any lucky pee-ers today? Assume not, it's not the kind of news you'd keep quiet!

It's easy to see why that would be hard Sundance, and why you'd feel left out.

Good luck with the high pressure shagging triple, it's so hard to keep the enthusiaam going month after month.

Going to start temping again tomorrow am-want to have more idea of what's going on, also would like the warning before af arrives, the last few days are always the hardest. Pretty sure af will arrive on Sun, I've been feeling typically pms irritable recently, so I'm def going to doc about lp. Dh also doing sperm test next week, so it's all happening.

triplespin · 10/01/2014 17:01

kat good to hear that all is going well ! can't believe you are so far along already - which also means I have been on this thread for far too long.

sundance I know what you mean - I have a friend already on to #2 - #1 was 2013 and #2 in 2014.

sal I can imagine taking all the meds will be stressful - but as everyone says - since you have tried it without the meds so far - why not give them a go? So many women go through IVF which is clearly medicine intensive, so at least you may be able to avoid that.

we are into peak phase - but haven't managed to get going properly. Will be relieved once weekend is over - as I find this time more stressing - I always worry whether we will get tired right before when we really need to get going. Then on to the 2ww. Yay - probably same situation as always - AF arriving on time and temps dropping 3 days in advance to confirm that :) You can see I am very high on posifrickentivity (not !).

anyone poas today?

Sundance2007 · 10/01/2014 12:40

Kat - great to hear from you, glad to hear all is going well with the pg.

MissP - I had the 21 day bloods taken before last pg, I got pg in the wait for the results so when I went bac to see gp, she didn't even look at the blood results and just said "oh, they ustbe fne if you're pregnant". I'll be asking them to look at the results more carefully next time.

Anyone POAS today? Good luck if you are. I'm still bang in the midle of the dreaded 2ww, forgot how long and torturous this bit is. It's the not knowing thats crap

This is totally pathetic too but...2 close friends of mine who I introduced to eachother last year, are both now upduffed well into their first pg's, and of course now they are socialising together and meeting up at anti-natal classes together. Feel totally left out and frustrated. I love them both of course, but couldn't bear the idea of meeting up with them both.

wingandtalon · 10/01/2014 11:45

sal that's a tough one. I can understand your misgivings, but I think I would go for it because, as you say, I don't think I'd be able to live with the what ifs if I MC again. Would you be injecting yourself?

kat it's lovely to hear from you. Glad to hear that things are going well.

SMEP begins this weekend, I'm not sure that I have the energy.

Parsley2506 · 10/01/2014 07:12

snake oil!

Parsley2506 · 09/01/2014 23:04

Sal, I'm a fish oil and cheat sheet devotee so I'd take whatever the good Dr ordered, but I understand your concerns.

Kat - I'm new since you graduated from this thread but it's lovely to hear happy and healthy pg news from a MC survivor Smile

Seasides, that's a dangerous game but we probably all do it. I looked at my old pg book last night to see what bubs would have been by now. Big mistake! HUGE! Felt positively black in mood all evening.

Got a jury summons today for next month. Should make an interesting distraction from it all for a couple of weeks!

Misspositivity · 09/01/2014 22:20

sal. Tough one and personal choice. I would give it a whirl because anything is worth a try and it's the experts advice.
fairy try not to worry. In my first successful pregnancy I constantly had a hot water bottle in my tummy due to cramps Abd was always on knicker watch.
fedup so sorry AF has arrived.
sundance I tortured myself that I had low progesterone turns out its fine. Have you had 21 day bloods done. gp will do them for you.
kAt lovely to hear from you and so pleased you are doing so well.

Well SMEP this month is killing me what with the wedding in 2 weeks. Still no poss opk but ewcm so hopefully tomorrow will get one.

Hugs to all feeling down.

Sal1977 · 09/01/2014 20:12

Hey Kat! Great to hear from you lovely! I'm so pleased for you that so far so good.

Yes, your comments are very much appreciated, I think I'm just gonna go for it, then at least I know I've done all I can! Xxx

Hey kata, good to hear from you! So glad you're doing well. Can't believe I've been here so long though...

Just made the HUGE mistake of looking at the Being a Parent threads. Even the Birthing ones. Why would I do that? It's like pressing your nose against a very locked window from the outside, and everyone inside is having a wonderful secret party that you're not invited to. Turning the computer off for a while. Not healthy.

My gut feeling is that I don't like taking any type of drugs but know that if I MC again I'd blame myself and feel shitter than shit. Plus, if I do MC again, I'm only going to have to take proper hardcore drugs for IVF, so surely it's got to be worth it?

Penguin13 · 09/01/2014 18:32

Sal it's hard to say what I'd do without being in the situation but I think I would go for it. I tend to make decisions based on gut reaction. What's your gut telling you?

Justonemoretime · 09/01/2014 18:30

I'm booked in for a TEG (don't ask me what it stands for) test next time I'm pg at St Mary's. I don't have think blood now (in a 'normal' state), but have been told that I might get it as part of the changes to my body when I'm pg. If so, then they'll put me on aspirin, so I need to get myself down there as soon as I get a BFP. (if...)

Sal1977 · 09/01/2014 18:26

The consultant explained that any slight thickening of the blood (that wouldn't show on a blood test) can cause MC. If you think how tiny tiny tiny the capillaries are when you first get upduffed, they're easy to clog and the body then dumps it.

I guess we can only trust in what our consultants tell us and not Dr Google!

not to rain on anyone's parade but I have heard that current advice is that baby aspirin can interfere with implantation... I know we'd try anything and everything, but you don't want to male matters worse... (sorry, feel like such a naysayer...)

Sundance2007 · 09/01/2014 17:57

Sorry to hear af got you fedup - that's so crap. hope you're feeling better.

Sal - I would give the heparin a try, though I agree it might be worth checking on the RMC board to see what success rates were like, otherwise just stick with aspirin maybe?

I've been looking into progesterone-based issues during pregnancy, and of course, in my boredom, have self diagnosed this as a strong potential problem for me. I used to be on the progestogen-only pill, Cerazette, as this helped with af side effects such as bloating and the ocasional chin hair!! I never had my bloods taken during either pg (though discounting 2nd mc as that was unrelated Turners), but wondered if my body is low on progesterone anyway, then perhaps the problem is exacerbated when pg. A random theory maybe, but lots of people seem to have great success after multiple mc's with progesteron injections.

Basically, if I do get upduffed again, I will be demanding blood tests left right and centre, and will certainly be popping a baby aspirin a day too as this doesn't harm either way.

Sorry for the random and slightly boring ramblings!
