  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Thank you for the very useful ewcm and seen comparison. I was wondering the same a few days back - wanted to stop the shagathon and thought it was ewcm again, but maybe it was semen.

jbrd deuscat I will be 12 dpo next Friday. I am going to try and resist poas as don't want to be disappointed yet again. Dh is going for SA that day too! I did not know that you could take it in a cup. DH is not very keen on doing it there: performance anxiety.

deuscat · 16/01/2014 08:21

Prodding penis Grin you ladies really make me giggle sometimes!

Yes tanny and Jbrd I'm in 2ww. I'll be 10dpo on Friday 24th so I'm considering testing then. I have previously waited till AF due date but I don't know if I can make myself wait a few extra days! Will I need a very sensitive test to poas at 10dpo? Think I just have a basic sainsbury test.

tannyLoo · 16/01/2014 07:13

Jbrd, I think deuscat and I are ov buddies with you. 2ww started yesterday for me, so will be 10dpo on 24th.

Have just done our 4 nights in a row of SMEPing and DH is a broken man, bless him. Night off tonight. Woohoo!

fedupofrainydays · 16/01/2014 06:53

Food urine?! Good I think I meant

fedupofrainydays · 16/01/2014 06:53

Ps jbrd I'm liable to a food urine infection too. I wee after sex and drink a shed load of water. I also bought some cranberry tablets that I take when getting to dtd phase. Think I need to buy a cup thing so can wee without the swimmers falling out!

fedupofrainydays · 16/01/2014 06:51

Hi english I have been so tempted tot take myself off Facebook for that very reason. Is anyone out there not pregnant or doesn't have a new born? It appears not.

Day 8 and should really start the shagathon but feeling very tired at the mo. Please bring on the longer days - this darkness makes me want to hibernate on my own and without a prodding penis

Already looking forward to sleep tonight, aiming for a 8.30 bed time. Amazing. Party animal here!!

JBrd · 15/01/2014 22:52

Welcome English, sorry that you find yourself here! But it's a lovely thread with lovely ladies!

Oh yes, Facebook Angry Where everyone is pregnant Angry I have just been invited to a babyshower. Of a friend who is due at the same time as I would have been with my 3rd mc. She is lovely, and I am so happy for her (has been a massive support when I mc'ed, and she also had a mc herself last year), but I don't think that I can bear to go. Apart from the fact that I hate babyshowers anyway.

So - I am now officially in the 2ww again, anyone with me? I shall be testing on Friday 24 Jan (if AF doesn't make an appearance before then). We tried our best, there was a lot of action before, on and after my OD.
However, I am now back on antibiotics with the second baldder infection in as many months. Not good at all Sad I need to find a way to avoid this, I can't just be ill with this every time we ramp up the ttc efforts. And that is definitely the cause, no doubt about it. How do other people avoid it?!

Seasides · 15/01/2014 22:38

Ha, mine was the day I came home from hospital, tucked up in bed, and a close friend came to visit and...announce her pregnancy. It wasn't too hard then, its harder now it's taking so long to happen again.

Parsley2506 · 15/01/2014 22:06

Hi English, sorry you find yourself here and that you've had to deal win those badly timed baby announcements but trust me, this is a great & supportive thread and I am sure you'll be off it soon (Posifrickintivity!)

otters I swear my FB is basically just updates from my elderly relatives and Buzzfeed now. Everyone else is having or has a baby and posts literally nothing else! 'Hide from feed' is my new mantra, although I do wish there was a button when it asks you why you don't want to see that post for "because I had a bloody miscarriage and I can't stand sodding baby news, ta"

My own badly timed MC/baby issue was one of my closest friends gave birth to her 2nd son the day my MC was confirmed. Rubbish. It was also my SIL's birthday.

Yet more aqua aerobics today. It was pretty much just me and some old dears this week! Never mind, i quite like a random natter and old ladies are great for that!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 15/01/2014 21:12

Thanks Ladies! Waves at hollyben - sorry you're here too Sad

While we're moaning about pregnant, fertile bitches friends I had a lovely text from a close friend on the day I started to lose my bundle of cells. She'd litterally just found out and text me a pic of the test. I threw my phone across the room. Ooops!
And yesterday another close friend told me she was 5 weeks gone.. the point at which i lost mine. I wanted to vomit. on her. But i cant because i'm hundreds of miles away.

Thankfully today i've woken up more positive. And i'm obviously thrilled for them. I just want it so much for me and dh.

I'm in Amsterdam too. I think if i wasn't go through this now i might enjoy it a bit more here. Its a lovely city, i just miss everything about home.

Sal1977 · 15/01/2014 21:02

My brother lives in Amsterdam and it took a few weeks to settle in, but he loves it now! Give it time sweet. Xx

Hi english we have 'spoken' on the jan bus. Sorry you are here but welcome and I hope your stay is short.

It must be because I am ancient but luckily I haven't had many pg announcements lately. Though the one friend who told me the day I had my mc confirmed is on fb telling everyone whether or not she has been sick most days. She has been sick most days since she got upduffed (due march aonth begore my daye) and been hospitalised etc which is awful and she is lovely and hasn't had it easy health wise over the previous couple of years BUT I still want to comment that I would love to be throwing up in the street if it meant I was still pg Sad Oddly I am fine face to face which is just as well as we work together and I see her most days

Penguin13 · 15/01/2014 20:35

Hi EnglishGirl. I'm sorry for your loss. Hopefully your stay here will be brief but I think we're a good bunch to have around. I think it makes such a difference being able to talk to people who understand and who don't bat an eyelid when asked how to tell the difference between semen and ewcm.

Otters I am totally calling Facebook that from now on. Sorry you were blindsided by another pregnancy announcement by a smug fertility goddess. I know how shitty it can be.

OttersPocket · 15/01/2014 19:48

Welcome EnglishGirl Sorry you're here but we are a supportive bunch Smile

Would everyone allow me a short tantrum please? It'll only last a moment or two....

I just logged onto my big fat pregnancy diary Facebook and yup, you guessed it, ANOTHER pregnancy announcement accompanied by a beautiful 13 week scan. Here's the tantrum bit - it's not fair!!! Why can't it be me!! I'm thrilled for the girl, she's lovely, totally will be an amazing mum blah blah blah. But why can't it be meeeeeeeeeeee???! That'll be another friend blocked from my newsfeed then Sad Envy

Okay, deep breath and I'm done. Sorry about that. The jealously monster has been pushed back down into the deaths of my soul. Normal posifrickenity will now resume Blush

EnglishGirlAbroad · 15/01/2014 19:02

Thanks Sal! I've had a fair few negative thoughts...mainly of the 'why me' variety when I have a lot of friends very newly preggers! But I'm obviously overjoyed for them. Just jealous!
I'm living in The Netherlands... Only been here a couple of months. Hate it! Lol!

Sal1977 · 15/01/2014 18:22

Welcome EnglishGirl! Sorry you're here, its a great place to rant and cry and frequently laugh (without guilt) and also to voice those irrational and evil thoughts you're probably having!!

Where are you abroad? Xx

EnglishGirlAbroad · 15/01/2014 17:54

Hi ladies,
Finally found this thread after being recommended to me in another. Can I join??
I'm so sorry for your losses. It horrible that this thread even has to exist. In a perfect world we'd all be healthily preggers or have a bubba with us.

I miscarried early at 5 weeks on 30th Dec. At the moment i'm very up and down. After a hideous day yesterday i'm having a positive 'up' day today. DH and I decided that the best thing for us is to jump back in and crack on. So i'm currently on cd15 and have had 'highs' on my opks today and yesterday. Hoping for a 'peak' over the next few days.

deuscat · 15/01/2014 17:06

Seasides, I forgot to reply to your message earlier. You're right, as this is my first cycle post mc I really need to try not to get my hopes up too much. I've been telling myself now that I might get pregnant but that it's not guaranteed and that I'll just have to wait to see if AF shows up by feb.

Seasides · 15/01/2014 16:36

Your DH sounds lovely sal Smile. Mine takes maca because I ask him to, though I've let it slip recently - he calls them hippy pills, or horny pills Grin. I don't take conception vits, I'm not sure if I could handle any more pills! We are both trying to eat a high magnesium and selenium diet just now though.

Sal1977 · 15/01/2014 16:31

*sprogs not sprigs. Sprigs of what?? Confused

OP posts:
Sal1977 · 15/01/2014 16:30

My DH takes the pregncare men's ones as our consultant said zinc, Selenium and 1000mg of vit c a day helps sperm get 'well fit'.

When I'm dishing up dinner, DH calls out "baby pills!" At the top of his voice and collects them from the cupboard! Hehe, he's soo good at all this. Just does exactly what I tell him too, when in reality, if I said I didn't want sprigs, he'd be just as chipper!

He did look at me like I'd asked him to eat cat shit when I suggested freezing his sperm to use on the in-between days on the SMEP plan....one step too far!!

OP posts:
deuscat · 15/01/2014 15:46

No Sundance, my DH doesn't take any supplements. I take the seven seas 'trying for a baby' vits. When we first started ttc I asked if he would take men ones but he looked at me like I was asking him to eat cat food Grin

OttersPocket · 15/01/2014 14:37

Oh thanks girls, I do love a bit of semen chat Wink Although DP is keen for us to get upduffed he's really better off knowing about all the more, err, intimate aspects of getting there!

sundance I take Zita West preconception vits and fish oil. I also take high dose prescribed folic acid as I'm type 1 diabetic. The Zita West stuff was recommended to me by my acupuncturist and she got me a weak moment. Before that I took the pregnacare stuff. I have no idea if it makes a difference (apart from the folic acid), but it does make my pee fluorescent Grin I bought some pregnacare men vits for DP but they have sat in a cupboard ignored for 18 months...

deuscat · 15/01/2014 12:51

Also, I've been able to distinguish ewcm from semen even when it was all mixed together. There's a noticeable difference for me but I suppose this might not be the case if you don't get much ewcm.

deuscat · 15/01/2014 12:50

Otters I used to have the same problem regarding ewcm vs semen! I've found there is a noticeable difference. Ewcm is more clear, semen is more white and cloudy, ewcm also is more stretchy between fingers. Also semen has a distinctive smell. And ewcm tends to sit on top of loo paper on wiping whereas semen sinks in. I've also read that ewcm floats and semen sinks in water I think. Not tried that one myself though.

Hope that helps. Sorry for the tmi at lunchtime. Grin
