  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Sal you've been in my head! Shock
Seems perfectly normal to be screwy after all we've been through.

I sometimes make myself stop and think if it's all worth it. No answers yet I'm afraid!

Parsley2506 · 17/01/2014 19:48

sal I could have written that, so unless all of us agreeing with you are also nut jobs (possible but unlikely!) then you're normal and I actually found what you wrote comforting as I torture myself with the same doubts every month!

I try to make myself focus on that image of me with a baby, it's hard to conjure but I think that's more out of fear of the bit in the middle, as fedup says.

Hope we're all off this thread SOON! CD28 and no AF as yet, but 1st cycle post MC was 30 and my 'usual' is 28/29. Still feel like it's going to turn up any second - got a lovely day out planned with Mr Parsley tomorrow, a London show and slap up meal, no doubt the witch will show just in time to ruin it all!

fedupofrainydays · 17/01/2014 19:36

And I don't think you are scared of being a mum just the bit that gets your there... It's the most stressy time and can be so crushing but you have a plan now for when you get that bfp so hopefully it will be the thing that gets you that baby

fedupofrainydays · 17/01/2014 19:30

sal very normal. Hormones are raging (whether preg or af ones) which cause us to all go a bit nuts. Plus it's all out of our control, we have done all we can, shagged or syringed for all it's worth and it's just a waiting game. And if it's af it's FFS and doom and gloom and of its a bfp it's an even bigger shiiiit and 'here we go again' with hourly knicker checks and panic stations...

So tough. Whatever the outcome on af due date it's tough for people who have had a mc, and partic those with recurrent mc. Bfps are not exciting on the same way as someone who hasn't had a mc.

Go easy on yourself, and don't bother trying to fight the mental ness!!!

fedupofrainydays · 17/01/2014 19:27

Anyone else get neg opks but ewcm? I'm trying those dual hormone cb digital ones and got empty circle despite my ewcm. I broke the rule and didn't do it first wee time so will do tomorrow but still... Anyone used them before?

Justonemoretime · 17/01/2014 19:24

Sal, that's the same as me, so as long as normal means that you are 'like someone else in a similar situation', then you are NORMAL - congratulations. :)

I am thinking about booking a holiday. In the future. Crazy times.

Sal1977 · 17/01/2014 18:57

Ok ladybugs, I have a 'Am I normal' fucking nuts question for you:

As I get towards the end of my cycle and the possibility of AF or a 5th pregnancy, I start to get quite anxious and worrywarty. I sometimes think it'll be ok if I'm not PG this cycle as then I won't have the worry of MC but then I get royally fucked off when AF arrives. I then think, I just don't know if I could handle the worry of being pg again and then I worry that maybe I don't want a baby enough and that's why I seem to MC again and again.

I can't seem to picture my future without babies and a brood around me, but I can't see me holding my own baby at the same time.

Am I mental or is this normal? Is it because being PG has never had a happy outcome for me in the past or am I just shit scared of becoming a mummatron?

I know I'm normally chipper and full of bullshitty randomness, but the anxiety I feel towards the end of my cycle does me in!!!

English - I was expecting the same. Poas several times in my first few cycles post mc with Bfns. Now 7 months down, I am still hanging around this thread. However, most people who joined same time or later than me have had bfps. So I do hope you fall into that group.

It took me 2 cycles for get pg (the one I miscarried) and a DS who was conceived on the first cycle. But now somehow it is taking longer. I just hope it's matter of time and not the case of never happening again.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 17/01/2014 12:49

Thanks wingandtalon, I think the internet is the devil. I've read so many stories online from women who got pg in that immediate cycle after, I stupidly started to only believe the positive and disregard the negative. Stupid I know. Everyone on here's honesty is just what I needed. I think I feel more ok with potentially getting AF now. So thank you! Smile

MissHobart · 17/01/2014 10:52

Reading the ArsePaste Fred, Pahahaha Grin Turn your rolo into a polo!!!!! Shock

MissHobart · 17/01/2014 10:39

I actually po2s's this morning at the sane time! One PG and one ov! Grin Both negative Hmm

MissHobart · 17/01/2014 10:36

I agree fedup - I don't have family nearby so will always tell my best friends as soon as I get a BFP, then they know where I'm at and if the worst does happen again they're there for me, my friend has lots of family that were told before me but I was the first friend to know, still trying not to dwell on it cos it gives me a wave of unhappiness and jealousy! As for my mum etc who lives abroad, I'd tell her after first scan, work won't know till I can't hide it anymore! Probs after 20 week scan!

I did poas this morning, bfn as expected but still disappointing, well keep on with my wtf cycle though does seem to make all the shagging a bit pointless! Hmm

wingandtalon · 17/01/2014 09:57

English my first couple of cycles post MC were all over the place. The first two were very short - 24 days, the next very long - 34 days. Now they seem to have settled down to around 30 days. I put it down to body recovering and taking time to get back into normal cycle.

I've only been TTC for 4 months since MC, but it feels like forever. We conceived last time on the first cycle and I think I kind of expected it to happen again, stupid! It doesn't help that people keep telling me I was lucky to conceive fast last time and it will happen fast again. The next person who says that may get punched! Sorry, tired and grouchy due to lack of sleep and SMEP. I just want a night off!

Good luck to any POASers.

Sal1977 · 17/01/2014 09:04

I'm not telling anyone (apart from immediate family) until after the 20 week scan.

My biggest hugest fear about getting PG is losing it after 12 weeks. I'd take another 5 MC at 5-6 weeks than one in the 2nd or 3rd trimester. That would finish me off!!

Temp nice and high today at 11dpo and feeling 50/50 about our chances this month. I normally get a temp dip at 12-13dpo if AF is a coming, so next couple of days will tell all. FF might have taken OV a day earlier than normal (apart from my whole cycle being 3 days earlier anyway), so I could only be 10dpo.

Looked at my chart and in fact as I OV on day 13, Wednesday would be 4 weeks. Hmmm.... Do I wait until then to test or will you Wiley witches peer pressure me into Monday? Maybe I'll really stick to the rules and wait until next Friday....

Who the fuck am I kidding??

Right, any more POAS-ers today???

EnglishGirlAbroad · 17/01/2014 09:01

Yeah 7.30 every morning. That post was supposed to say a 'bit' not 'big' but yeah they've def been a bit erratic!

JBrd · 17/01/2014 08:57

English The first cycle after a mc is usually called the WTF cycle, and not for nothing. Anything is possible, your body needs time to get back to normal after the rollercoaster. I found that temping during that cycle really didn't tell me anything, so I tend to start all fresh once the first AF has appeared again. Maybe switch to cheap OPKs instead, if you still want to monitor what's going on?

Next time I'm pg, I will only tell my closest friends, who have been so supportive during all my mcs. I want to avoid telling family as long as possible, they are all very lovely and nice, but I can't bear the constant asking how I am...

triplespin · 17/01/2014 08:52

English- not sure if we can use those. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will come along.
Odd about the temps. Have you been taking your temp at the same time every morning, with at least 3 hours sleep?

EnglishGirlAbroad · 17/01/2014 08:33

Triple - thanks. I'm temping but they've been a big up and down too. Think if it's not a high tomorrow I'll just have to DTD every day in a hope that I'll catch it!
Do you reckon buying the refill sticks for the expensive monitor will work in my dual hormone kit?

triplespin · 17/01/2014 08:29

Sorry about the Bfns. Hope we get some better news today to cheer us up or else on Monday from sal

english girl are you also temping? That would be the clearest way to identify ovulation. Itis hard to say because I have noticed sometimes that the digi opks miss out the peak! I now use the simple ones: smiley or no smiley. Given 4 days of high, I suspect ov day may be close. Maybe the one day spurt makes sense then if you are following SMEP? We always do EOD even when peak ov. Think the sperm needs time to regenerate too.

SuzyBean · 17/01/2014 08:18

Bfn for me too. Day 30 so AF must be on her way soon. I'm pleased though that it looks like my cycle is now getting back on track after two 18 day cycles.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 17/01/2014 07:51

Sorry for your bfn JustOne Hmm Good luck for next cycle xx

EnglishGirlAbroad · 17/01/2014 07:49

Can I ask everyone how they found the immediate cycle that followed their mc? I was only 5 weeks and maybe naively thought this cycle would just fall back in sync.
I'm now on cd18, I've been doing OPKs... which I'm about to run out of! So far I'm on day4 of 'high' but with only 1 stick left I'm worried I'm going to run out before I get my peak.
Should I just keep DTD eod or do a spurt of everyday?

Justonemoretime · 17/01/2014 07:46

Me, but bfn. also temp down. No AF yet but I reckon I'm out. Sad 12 ish dpo.

fedupofrainydays · 17/01/2014 07:30

Anyone POAS today?!

deuscat · 16/01/2014 22:32

I guess there's no right and wrong about when you tell people you're pregnant. But I can see how deceiving it is for a friend to pretend they're struggling with ttc when they are secretly pregnant after a short time. That's just not nice and really unnecessary.

When I was pregnant before my mc I told my best friend but only because I was bursting with excitement and I knew she wouldn't spill as she is living in Australia at the moment. After the mc most of my friends now know about it. But I still think we will not tell anyone next time I get pregnant until after 12 weeks. If I have another mc then I will just tell friends as and when. But the pregnancy stays secret between DH and I.
