  1. The year of the rainbow baby. We pledge to be positive (most of the time). We pledge to cry less, shag more and swear lots. This is the one wannamummabees!

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

English I think temping would send me over the edge! I found it weird enough using opk to tell me when to commence shagathoning...

I am now full of cold, and I think it's upset my stomach a bit. All the confidence that my super fertility and SMEPing had me upduffed, and I was already feeling nauseous, has been swept away. I think I'm feeling ill because I am ill. Sad

Or not.

Bloody hell. Role on POAS Friday and some end to this...

Justonemoretime · 23/01/2014 07:20

English, it will come. I know its frustrating. Maybe drink some raspberry leaf tea and get a session of reflexology? They can stimulate 'that area' - well, the corresponding area on your heal - and its very relaxing.

I am going for a reflexology session this evening as a treat. I also have acupuncture weekly. Honestly, I have no idea whether it 'works', but there is a lot to be said for feeling like you're taking some control back over your situation and also a lot to be said for setting time aside to lie down in a darkened room for an hour a week. It has really helped me with my ability to relax. The acupuncture does hurt very slightly and there are very occasional bruises. But, my hair has become greasier (weirdly) which I am taking as a good sign that my lady hormones are doing their thing a little bit more than they were before. My cycle is regular but AFs short, although this month I managed 3 days then one day gap (thought it was finished) and then one more day (anyone else have something like that?). I think it's progress.

I have now booked a holiday for April, so I expect that I will get a BFP and be too afraid to fly... hmmm. Clearly the alternative therapies have not made me any less bonkers. Blush

fedupofrainydays · 23/01/2014 07:06

english it's so frustrating isn't it. The one month I temped it drove me insane - I concluded it was a very slow riser and when ff finally decided to show ov it was about 4 days earlier! Alyant, one of this thread grads had FF showing no ovulation for a long time after she actually ov'd and that was the month she got her bfp and left us! So all is not lost...

Welcome back handsfull and smack in the 2 ww. Eeek. Good luck.

So... I'm on train craving a bacon sandwich at 6.45 am, must be pregnant right?! Think I've just tipped over the edge into the 2 ww. God (or wine) help me.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 23/01/2014 06:59

Morning all!!
Feeling very meh this morning. Was expecting a temp rise that would indicate ov, but no. My body is an arsehole.
It leads me into a false sense of security with a rise and then dips right back down again. FF has no chance of detecting ov!
Just want AF to come now! I'm fed up of waiting for my body to rectify itself.
I was only 5+2 when I lost, -tive test a week after bleeding started. I thought my body would settle quickly. Sad

Penguin13 · 22/01/2014 22:37

On a slightly less self - involved note : welcome back handsfull

Penguin13 · 22/01/2014 22:25

Argh! Disaster! Managed to spill a massive splodge of the brightest bright red nail polish on our bathroom carpet. Thank god we are planning to replace it with lino or tiles but it might have to be sooner than anticipated. It would have to blimmin witch red too! Luckily h is the most understanding man on the planet when it comes to accidental damage (am a huge klutz) but it makes me question my ability to teach a child to be a fully functional adult when I'm apparently not one myself yet....

fedupofrainydays · 22/01/2014 22:24

I too got wasted at a wedding when I was pregnant with my son and he is totally fine. Went to the doctor stressing about it and she said don't worry... It's not as if you had four bottles of champagne to yourself is it. Ahem... I probably could have done! Just had NO idea I was pregnant but was actually reason I got so drunk so fast. I was under 4 weeks pregnant though so doubt any of that booze reached the cell bundle.

Just finished our shagathon and now in the dreaded 2 ww. Been not drinking mon to thurs this year so will be having a glass of wine or two at the weekend! Cheers!

tannyLoo · 22/01/2014 22:06

Hey handsful, you are very welcome to join us on Friday for our POAS party, although we will understand if you would rather wait a while. Enjoy the Wine.

Handsfullandlovingit · 22/01/2014 21:36

Hi Hollyben thank you for remembering who I am! I have vowed not to test until it is bleeding obvious, like 2 weeks late. Hoping that might be less upsetting. Problem is, I over interpret every single twinge and have both convinced myself I am and am not upduffed already, 11 dpo. Gah. Have a Wine to help pass the time.

HollyBen · 22/01/2014 20:58

Hi handsfull I was wondering where you were just the other day. 2 week wait here too. 4 dpo and I am wishing my life away until I can POAS.

Penguin13 · 22/01/2014 20:43

I've so far had a dry Jan but more for optimising TTC chances than because I'm worried about any ill effects on the potential little bundle of cells. That said I'm going to a Vegas - themed party on sat so pretty sure I'm going to have a couple of drinks at least. I started off the year quite strict (no caffeine, no alcohol, healthy diet, lots of exercise) but am coming round to the view that maybe all the good stuff on moderation is the key to not having a miserable time while you wait Smile.

Handsfullandlovingit · 22/01/2014 20:37

Shuffles in shyly. Hello again everyone, it has been a little while. Parsley, that is brilliant, we are a very muddy family with a lot of willies cluttering up the place. We keep quite a few pairs of guest willies too, for urbanites who come out to visit our mudbath country idyll in their poncy sneakers. I think I need a willy rack.

Nothing going on here, 2 week wait after mammoth effort. I calculated that every time I have conceived we were on holiday, including much afternoon and morning energetic sleeping. So this month we have been having a holiday in our house, working in London, digging the allotment and looking after two kids and a dog. Considering all that, we did bloody well and have had a fully SMEP compliant month. I got a dose of DTD phobia towards to end, perhaps it is time for a month off.

My pregnancy books are stashed away at the back of a cupboard. I cannot help wanting to look at the pictures of the 11 week old bean we lost, but I think it would make things much much worse to do so.

I think a bit of a drink is pretty much essential when it comes to the two week wait. How else are you meant to survive it?

HollyBen · 22/01/2014 20:34

I was just thinking the other day that what my house lacked was willie storage - perfecto!!

I am off the keep going as you are until you get that BFP school Otters. I am a big drinker perhaps half a bottle of wine over a weekend so I figure that's fine. Saying that with BFP #2 (now almost 3) I had been at a wedding in Ireland and drunk a huge amount over 2 days. I only clocked I was pg when I still felt hungover 3 days later! Not that I am advocating that, but it had no ill efects

OttersPocket · 22/01/2014 20:27

Thanks girls, it's not like I'm necking a bottle of gin (mores the pity!) So I'll chill out about it a bit Wink

Justonemoretime · 22/01/2014 20:25

*think Blush

Parsley2506 · 22/01/2014 20:23

otters I do my best to abstain but basically, yes I do! My understanding (confirmed by my GP when I fretted over a few unknowing drinks when I got my BFP) is that there's no blood interaction between you and blastocyst/embryo until you're about 5 weeks gone, at the earliest. I also read an article saying much the same last year, if I find it I'll PM It to you!

Justonemoretime · 22/01/2014 20:21

I don't thing a glass will hurt. And if it helps relax you and build bridges, so much the better. Cheers. :)

OttersPocket · 22/01/2014 20:14

Parsley that is brilliant! We have lots of 'willies' that need putting at the back door here Grin

So I have a slightly controversial question for you all - do you partake in a drink during the 2 week wait? I was determined not to this time but DP and I have just had a couple of (largish) glasses of red wine each to chill out and make up after last nights histerics (my bad) and I'm only 2dpo Blush

I did drink a bit the month I got my BFP (not lots and lots but there was a tipsy night in there), but now I've got post-mc paranoia. Am I a terrible person to have had wine?

Penguin13 · 22/01/2014 19:40

Fnar Parsley Smile

Parsley2506 · 22/01/2014 19:03

I don't know about you gals, but my house is literally teeming with willies! I also love the 'Perfect for the backdoor' line - but only on Fridays, right? Wink

fedupofrainydays · 22/01/2014 18:59

Hee hee!

Justonemoretime · 22/01/2014 18:54

Parsley hahahahahaha!

Parsley2506 · 22/01/2014 18:50

Ok this has zero to do with anything, but I've been in childish fits of giggles over this and thought I'd share.

Check out the product description. Perhaps this is the perfect thing for all our DH/DPs post shag week?!?

Triplespin · 22/01/2014 16:46

aah pregnancy books. I have several from ttc#1, keep thinking maybe it is time to just throw them away as they are taking up too much space on the bookshelf and no chance of getting upduffed in sight. Similarly for those with DCs - I have saved my ds's clothes and toys for the next baby - at some point I may have to decide to throw those away too.

I had slight cramps this afternoon and thought it may be implantation related as af is not due till Mon. However, i think it was just a case of me having eaten too much at lunchtime and my skirt being awfully tight.

OttersPocket · 22/01/2014 15:27

Oh I bought three of the damn things. And took comfort reading that at 8 weeks the chances of mc were tiny blah blah blah. I read that the night before my scan confirmed my mmc Sad They'll be staying stuffed at the back of the wardrobe if I ever get upduffed again...
