Pregnancy after sterilization - can i be???

Hi 14 months ago i was sterilised after having my little girl by c-section, i am now quite late for my period. I have done various amounts of tests but have all come back negative, i am nearly 7 weeks gone by the time it shows up on a pregnancy test. I have morning sickness for the past few days, do you think i could be pregnant? somebody give me some advice please

When my Mirena failed I was told that it was safer than a tubal ligation - meaning more women get pregnant after their tubes are tied than while using the Mirena. Yet my Mirena failed... and so it is definitely a possibility I am afraid. If it something you desperately do not want and can't deal with right now, please please get the test asap because the sooner you can sort it out the better.

Hi, 10 months ago i gave birth to baby #4 by c-section and was sterilized at the same time, my periods have been on time every month, but now i am 4 days late and been feeling really sick in the mornings or when making babys food!!! I done 4 hCG tests....one of them came back with a very faint pale pink positive line, which is how they kept coming back when i was testing with baby #4! Now i'm not sure what to do, you can only just see the line....should i wait a few days and do another one? Or should i just go straight to my doctor to rule out eptopic? x

i was sterilized in 1998 an now i'm getting symptoms of being pregnant
i mean sickness, tired, boobs killing me , very teary. i have done 2 test and both were negative, my gp thinks im going mad an has agreed to do blood test on friday..... anyone know if its possible after this length of time ?? my youngest is 19years so as you can see its been along time for me

hi i was streilised 4 years ago at the same time as i had my daughter by c section, i am now 3 weeks late could i be pregnant, i heard that if you get sterilised at the same time as section your tubes are swollen and my not work any advise

i got sterlized in july , since xmas that all i have done is cry thinking i have made a mistake is it too late i only had the clips done but i have heard sop many people say they have still caught , could i still have a chance i know its my own fault but i didnt think i would feel like this :( x

Hi Just reading all your comments. I was 42 when I had my last child. I was sterilized during my c-section as I was told due to the extensive work done to restructure my womb at 34 yrs old that I could not go through another pregnancy as it could rupture my womb. a year later I was pregnant and told to abort but left to decide for myself, after a lot of thought and being hormonilly compromised I decided to go ahead only to find the baby had died anyway. so a few years later after finding a new sterilization method called 'esure' I had my tubes blocked vaginally. I am a 28 day girl on the nose and I am 13 days late, I am 48 so am thinking this could be the start of the menopause. I do think if I don't start in the next few days i will have to go for a test but I do not feel pregnant, if anything my boobs have deflated in the last two months and I have been able to loose weight without trying for the first time in years. Just a bit odd as my last two periods were well on the nose of 28 days. Not like me at all but I guess the old meno has to start somewhere. I guess if it is will start soon and each month will be later and later. I think it takes a year in all. Good luck all of you out there ..please go for a test if in any doubt..:)

New to this. I was Sterilised in July this year. My period is only 2 days late but something doesnt feel right. im very bloated feeling a tad sick but burping.. nice!! My boobs feel heavy aswell. I think we all panic about these things but its true what people say. once you have been sterilised you want another one lol. It would be great to hear everyone elses experiences xx

I was sterilised during my elective section on April 1st and you are still awake for it.

I exclusively breastfed for 6 months and stopped a month ago and still no period. I'm really bloated and feel like i did with my last 2 pregnancies. i was told that another pregnancy would risk my health and i am having 4 operations next year to reconstruct both of my knees so it would be awful if i was pregnant. my boys are 2 and 7 months so just couldn't do it again. will get a test tonight

hi, i am having a c-section on my fourth child and being steralized at same time just wondering will i be asleep while they do it?

i got sterilised 8 years ago after my 4th child. i am now with a knew partner and i am showing the signs of being pregnant again. i know it sounds mad but i have had sickness, tiredness, sore boobs and my stomach is looking like someone who is pregnant. i have done a pregnancy test that said negative but myself and partner bought a heart to heart prenantal heart beat kit i we can hear a very faint heart beat i think i am going mad. can anyone help.

am a little confused at present was sterilized five years ago. always had regular 28 day cycle but am now 3 weeks late not sure if it menopause as am in early forties got no symptons of menopause though took pregnancy test which was neg but to be honest it was only a cheap one. i know sterlization is not 100% i had clips but machine did break down during procedure so they had to use another machine just want some advice really

i was sterilised in may 08 after my 4th child....3rd c sec. sum1 sed that if this is dne along with section it is less effective,so norm is 1 in 200 fails,what are the stats when dne with section? i am hoping i could be pregnant,have all the symptoms but also light bleeding for over 2 wks,bit worried coz risk of etopic 2.doing a test 2moro....

i was strerilized on the 9 of aug 07 after having my son on xmas eve i had a really bad brith with him i also have 2 daughter age 7/4 i was told by the hospital it would b best 4 me 2 get strerilized has my nxt baby could b born stillborn so i did but now nearly 3 years later iv got all the sign that im pregnant iv had 2 test at the doctors saying im not but i have 1 home test saying i am so im so mess up so iv had 2 do a blood test but still waitting 4 that 2 cum back could it happen i had my tube clip not tied

I have 4 children (aged 9,8,5,3) and was sterilised in June 2006 as I suffer something called Hyperemesis during my pregnancies. My Surgeon put two Filshe Clips on each tube to increase my chances of remaining sterile as at the time I was convinced I never wanted to suffer the hyperemesis ever again. However 3 years later and I find myself clucky as ever and would love another baby. My periods are due in 4 days but I have found I am extremely emotional and teary and have painful, sore and swollen breasts...way more than pre-menstrual. I have my hopes up that I could be pregnant and keep reading stories of people who have fallen pregnant after being sterilised. What do you think the chances are when he put two clips on? Am I kidding myself that I could fall pregnant naturally? I am 35 years old.

i was sterilized aug 07 after ive had my 3rd section the doctors advised that i shouldnt have any more children after this 1 so silly me i agreed now i not even due till monday next week so thats 3days away and im feeling sick ive got really sore boobs and just feel generally weird and different any ideas could i really be pregnant

i was sterilized in jan 08 as doc told me was the best thing to do to sort out my heavy periods.
gutted cause they are worse they burned the lining of my womb away and not sure how they done my tubes
want to know if can get pregnant by how they have done it

I was sterilized nearly 8 yrs ago, started retching in the mornings about 6 wks ago and have many other symptoms associated with pregnancy, problem is other than being sterilized i have had periods, though not quite as heavy as usual and i have done 2 tests, both neg result. Anyone any ideas here as i feel a tad mad lol

hi kez never happened to me before no but i finally got my period now the worry is over have to admit i am a little gutted as had geared myself up for a pos result hope you get the result your hoping for

can i ask you gonemad31 when you were sterilised did they say that they nobbled you tubes because that they told me was the new and more effective way of sterilization. I was sterilised 15 months ago and i am 2 weeks late for my period and i am getting worried but they told me that with this new way if i did get caught pregnant then i would have an eptopic pregnancy. I also took a test and that has come up negative too. Sorry to bother you.
