2014 will bring me a BFP!

I seem to remember there was a year thread when I first joined for 2013 but that didn't go my way. I can't see a 2014 one but I am determined to get my BFP in 2014 and hoping positive mental attitude will help.

Thought if see if anyone wants to join with 2014 goal to get upduffed rather than a monthly bus - some of us just need a longer term strategy!

Green tea does no harms till it is consumed within normal limits. Many people have tried adding green tea to their diet, as it has loads of benefits and helps in conception too.
Just take 2 cups a day from AF ovulation day as it improves the quality of mucus. I also add apple cider vinegar to my cup, I like the combination and its good for CM too.
You can continue after ovulation as well, but I sometimes continue with pomegranate juice from O through the tww.

So, these things do not harm, yet they have no magical powers for conception but do help in boosting the fertility.

Hi everyone

Can I join as well? We have been ttc since Dec 2011, although we have only lived together for a year of that, so it's hard to say exactly how much of a chance we have given ourselves. I used to temp (did it for about 6 months) but found it too stressful, so have stopped all that now and just concentrate on fairly regular dtd particularly around the middle of my cycle. My cycle is pretty regular at 28-29 days, though, so ov is reasonably easy to predict, generally around day 14-15, give or take. Just starting 2ww at the moment so fx :)

Had bloods which were ok and DP has been checked which is ok - Our first appt with fertility clinic is 3rd Feb. What sort of things can we expect from the first appt?

I will have to book a holiday in the next few weeks, I think that's a good idea generally to take my mind off ttc and hopefully will have sod's law effect :)

sazzlehopes · 06/01/2014 12:27

fauser thanks for the green tea tip - how does it help? just full of good things? it has caffeine in, which i'm not particularly cutting out anyway, just wondered what wonder things it had in as extra!!

Hi cotton - do jon us, think a long term goal is more relaxing than monthly goals...and i all think we had those thoughts 9+ months ago!

OneInAMinion · 06/01/2014 07:33

Green tea hey? Will give it a go - thanks fausher!

The more the merrier cotton wool Smile

fausher · 06/01/2014 06:52

OneInAMinion I completely agree with you. That's an important thing for a couple trying to conceive as there is so much of stress, sometimes social pressure(not if verbally, sometimes the gestures do the stuff Grin )

I was also stressed out, depressed and thinking of it all the time, forgetting that I have many other things to enjoy along this mission.

So, definitely, the couples must enjoy the whole thing not to be very conscious about the dates, etc.
Have a quality time with your partner, eat well, do exercise, go out for long drives, nice music and here you go!
Just to add a bit more, sip on the green tea more! It really helps Smile

cottonwool4brains · 06/01/2014 00:45

Can I join? TTC #2 for the last 10 months, 2 chemical pregnancies in august and October. used opks fir the first time this month. Not holding my breath. Ten months ago I had in my head that i would be holding number 2 now, how naive. So here hoping for a sticky bfp this year. X

OneInAMinion · 05/01/2014 22:50

Oh & we've planned some weekends away & a holiday in September...pregnant or not, we all need time to relax ??

OneInAMinion · 05/01/2014 22:48

My tactic for this month is to just look after myself...I'm having a dry January, I'm trying to eat healthier rather than my usual calorie counting (so more protein, vegetables, etc & less processed foods), I'm trying to get more sleep, be a bit more active (using my Fitbit to be my conscience), I'm starting acupuncture next week & I'm making more time to read & chill out, rather than my usual fast pace of life.

I'm not using OPK's, predicting dates, etc. - we're just having sex every 2-3 days & mixing things up with a few new games & outfits Wink

My NY resolution is to not be a slave to this goddamn infertility...but not to give up either ??

MissHobart · 05/01/2014 17:52

One - I like the sound of your idea! I don't have any to add though!

m33r · 05/01/2014 17:27

Sazzle great plan! Hope that holiday never comes ! Fx for you

sazzlehopes · 05/01/2014 16:04

Firstly congrats Lottie!

I'm doing reflexology once a month alongside my cbfm. I like being in control so the monitor suits me...I don't get in a stress with it and oh likes knowing what's what too. I've had one session and it was relaxing and just good to confirm what I already know about ov and all the ins and outs and trust my body a bit more... I aim to go for 6 months (it's not cheap!!!) and then if not preggo we are going to save like mad and book an amazing special holiday for jan instead!

m33r · 05/01/2014 12:13

We've been trying for 12 minth's and did 'see what happens' for three months; dtd based on days for a few months; then went to opks since may 2013. My plan was from jan / feb to go back to seeing what happens and also (very sadly) start to plan for life without dc e.g. Decorating the would be nursery as a spare room.

Ttc can take over and I am scared that life is in hold and may pass me by. In the meantime, I await my fertility appt.

All that said, it is sooooo hard too 'unknow' the science so not sure how dtd when we feel like it will do ... I just don't know...

DulcetMoans · 05/01/2014 11:48

one - I have a friend that has been trying reflexology but hasn't got he result she wants yet. She does enjoy it though and finds it relaxing. I think anything that helps take your mind off it is good for your wellbeing even if it doesn't improve fertility.

We did try the lazy approach a few times, especially at the beginning, and just had sex as and when but its hard to escape the science of it. Eg. If its not the right time it won't work. The only other thing we try us positions - apparently missionary and doggy style are the best for retention.

On another thread we try and use Sod's law to get BFP so try booking a holiday, get asked to be a bridesmaid or apply for a new job or something and see if that encourages one along!

Random thought ladies...we all understand what needs to happen to get pregnant, but it's not working yet for most of us for whatever reason & it can be a bit all-consuming. Has anyone tried alternative medicine treatments like acupuncture, relaxation, hypnosis, etc. alongside regular sex? What about slightly more random things that have worked for other people? Old wives tales, etc.? Or just spending a bit more time having really good sex & not being as focused on the date?

I was just wondering if we could help each other to take the stress levels down a notch or two & perhaps have some fun trying some different or wacky ideas? (Still having regular sex of course, I don't want us to miss the boat!)

Too random?

fausher · 04/01/2014 19:47

Thanks everyone and congrats Lottie :)

OneInAMinion · 03/01/2014 21:52

Great news Lottie! Hopefully you've started a trend Wink

Lottystar · 03/01/2014 19:17

Congrats Lottie! I hope that as the other "Lotty" I'll be as lucky this month too! What a fab start to 2014 for you. I'm just past ovulation, I think. Got my +opk on Monday. Sorry if tmi but dtd the Friday and Sunday before, then on Mon, Tues, Weds - do you think I've covered the fertile window? The Sperm Meets Egg Plan suggests tonight as well, my cervix is high and hard and seems closed, just started monitoring cervical position, bit grim but to me that suggests I'm post ovulation. Kinda getting my knickers in a twist as I've read online that some women get their positive opk and ovulate 4 days later or something. And now the tww begins ... It's so hard not to start symptom spotting or googling every twinge or sign. Good luck to all you other ladies, sorry I haven't commented on sperm mobility but my husband has good swimmers, fertility problems are all me x

dildoos · 03/01/2014 16:00

Afternoon all, no sorry flofly unsure what they are looking for with me I had the 21 day bloods etc and all were very normal. So just checking everything else in case pcos? Maybe? They haven't suggested anything for dp however I heard zinc boasts it so been making him take supplement!! If they give me any ideas will let you know . 24% seems a little lowbutaversge is 35% sonit too bad also a retake SA can sometimes be that maybe the 1st collection wasn't great or kept at wrong temp or tested not in the hour bracket so will hope for you guys this maybe a one off low for your dp .
Xx

fausher · 03/01/2014 15:58

Congrats Twinkle :-)

DulcetMoans · 03/01/2014 15:46

Congrats lottie! What a great start to the thread so far.

No real suggestions for improving motility flofly, my DH had a 'normal no action' results so werent advised (I'm the problem). But from what I have read it would be diet related. No alcohol, fruit and veg etc. Zita West was an advocate of organic food for both partners too but I'm not going that far.
