I seem to remember there was a year thread when I first joined for 2013 but that didn't go my way. I can't see a 2014 one but I am determined to get my BFP in 2014 and hoping positive mental attitude will help.

Thought if see if anyone wants to join with 2014 goal to get upduffed rather than a monthly bus - some of us just need a longer term strategy!

It seems that everything some people take in order to regulate their cycles can actually have the opposite effect if there was nothing wrong with your cycle to begin with. I think agnus castus is supposed to be good for people with PCOS but for the rest of us I don't think it's particularly useful, so probably best avoided in case it does the opposite!

Disclaimer: Folic acid is an important one, though, for the nervous system in the baby in the first few weeks of development. So really must be taken when TTC.

Hey all just found that angus castus can infact prevent af for up too 142 from a fellow mn, do not take!!! Warning warning do not take!!!!!

Good evening now going to read down thread x

Hello notta! Welcome, I am in exactly the same situation as you, ttc 1 and now on cycle 8, I am 32.
I am just plucking up the courage to book a gp appointment. Not because I would like a referral straight away, but I would like to get some initial tests done. Usually if you are over 35, they are happy to see you after 6 months, and even refer.
I wish you loads of luck and this thread has been so much more helpful than any of the buses.

Hello, bit late to this but would like to join in. Been staying away from this board as i find it depresses me/feeds my obsession in equal measures.....

Ttc #1. Cycle 8. I'm 36.

Background - was on depo provera for several (7?) years. Discussed on and off about ttc with OH (now husband) talked to gp and had last jab sept 2012. So i was 'covered' until dec 2012. Took until bloody JUNE 2013 for AF to show up. A month or two prior, was at the doctors and mentioned about still not having AF, he said not to worry, could take up to a year. Then said actually, due to my age, we could do a preliminary blood test. Which came back 'normal'. I actually don't know what they tested for but think hormone levels?

Have settled on 25 day cycles. Bit short maybe. Took seven seas 'trying for a baby' which caused severe (tmi!) constipation. Stopped taking it. Bought pregnacare and a box of opk strips but not used them yet.

Not sure if i should go back to docs really or if its too soon? I am on cycle 8 but tbf some cycles we have only dtd 1 or 2 times over the relevant week.

Anyway, af due 28th. FX for all of us.

Glad you fluoroscopy was reassuring, what does it involve, fausher? We have our first fertility clinic appt in about 3 weeks so am trying to gather as much info as poss about further tests they might do. AFAIK the only thing(s) they have left to check are my tubes - is that what a fluoroscopy is for? Is it similar to an HSG (have read about that one!)?

CD26 currently and desperately trying to stop my hopes from rising. Just need to get through this week and avoid testing til the weekend (although assume that AF will have come by then). Anyone else on the dreaded 2ww?

JennyOfOldstones · 13/01/2014 15:54

Hooray, congrats fausher hope the pain wears off soon!!

fausher · 13/01/2014 12:04

CD 7. Got the fluoroscopy done today. The uterus size and cervix is pretty normal, tubes are fine too.... phewww no issues at all...
But the procedure was a bit painful and I can't lay straight on my back as I was given the injection.
Hopefully all goes good this time.Smile

JennyOfOldstones · 13/01/2014 11:43

Ooh lovely, might pop into H&B at lunchtime. I have a 50p voucher, every little helps!! Will probably wait until AF arrives and start from next cycle.

dildoos · 12/01/2014 21:02

JennyOfOldstones · 12/01/2014 20:48

Yes same thing. Might give it a go.

dildoos · 12/01/2014 11:51

Jenny is it like angus castes? That does tooxx

JennyOfOldstones · 12/01/2014 08:33

It's a herbal thing it helps regulate hormones I think but some people say it messes up their cycles.

dildoos · 12/01/2014 00:10

Cottonwool how rubbish! Big hugs xx

Jenny what is vitex intrigued xx

JennyOfOldstones · 11/01/2014 23:09

Boooooo cotton sorry to hear that. Has anyone tried Vitex? Am thinking about adding something next month, either that or acupuncture.

cottonwool4brains · 11/01/2014 22:53

Spotting today so I recon af tomorrow...:-(

fausher · 10/01/2014 17:52

Jenny I have started it from today, i.e. CD 4. No side effects yet, though I took the medicine in morning so that my night is not spoiled due to any side effects. Grin

UnicornsNotRiddenByGrownUps · 10/01/2014 16:32

Thanks Jenny How long ago was day 8? We've found that at times we have struggled but the fun is back at the moment. Performing under stress is hard, I think men face much more anxiety than they let on. We finally had a massive argument and that side of things all came out in the summer.

JennyOfOldstones · 10/01/2014 15:18

Great news unicorns and good luck to your DH for his SA!! Don't miss the pot!!

fausher good luck with the clomid. Does it have any side effects?

sazzle you are right getting checked out might help DP with his performance issues, he has still not been near me since cd8 although I am not sure I have ovd this month so probably makes no difference!! It is like the elephant in the room we aren't talking about.....

fausher · 10/01/2014 07:39

Jenny Yes I knew it would be started with Clomid initially. I hope it works. The medicine she gave me early to take 5 days before the next expected periods had lots of side effects on me and she was surprised if I was this much sensitive to hormones.
So, she hasn't given me any other medicine, I hope Pregnacare works too...

sazzlehopes · 10/01/2014 07:30

Oh ok. That's fine for the boys - just spunk in a pot no?! Easy peasy!
Good you can officially get going now....
Fx crossed for you 2014 bring you a bfp!

UnicornsNotRiddenByGrownUps · 10/01/2014 07:21

Yes thanks :) sorry SA= sperm analysis. I thought DH would be nervous about it but he doesn't seem phased at all.

sazzlehopes · 10/01/2014 07:11

Unicorns so all was ok with you? That's good...what is SA for your DH?Sorry I don't know that abbreviation! So can you get on with ttc now?

sazzlehopes · 10/01/2014 07:09

We'll done jenni. I find with most of these things it is better to just be straightforward and never apologise for asking them to do something. In the long run it's quite easy for them so better they get on with it!
I'm sure all will be fine with your oh, and once he knows that it will help him relax and perform better!, Grin

dildoos · 09/01/2014 22:42

Thanks one will get some ordered tomorrow !!! Jenny I doubt very much could be said it made me chuckle GrinGrinGrin
Welcome rambini here's to lots of ahem sex x

OneInAMinion · 09/01/2014 22:11

Ha, love it Jenny! Nicely put! Grin It's so much easier to test men and work out if they have an issue before fiddling about with us - I really don't understand why they don't test all men earlier.

Welcome Rambini! Smile Whilst those things aren't ideal, the one thing we've all learnt here is that things don't always work out as you expect. And surprisingly some of the people with obvious challenges are the ones who get BFPs with no issue. Good luck ??
