funky your blog post was incredibly touching and has made me well up at my desk. You seem to have articulated what I have felt re my ectopic. I really, really hope you get the bfp, healthy pregnancy and bouncing baby you deserve soon. Flowers

funkymonk · 07/01/2014 16:12

*to watch not too watch. I'm not thick honest well maybe a little

funkymonk · 07/01/2014 16:11

Hi ladies. On my phone also so struggling to keep up with everyone.
Pip she needs wanging with more than a sausage. Grrr.

Barking your bridesmaids sound like they've let you down and that sucks. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful day whatever though. It must be a tough situation with your friend who's now diffed. Hopefully you'll be joining her soon.

Sid hope you're right as rain again soon!

Blue and Sid we finished season six Breaking Bad 2 nights ago. It's so brilliant I am gutted there are no more too watch. Agreed Jesse is hot hot hot!

So today and yesterday just for one wipe only I had red tinged cm. What's that all about? It's 21 days since I had my bleed from the medical miscarriage but not much more than a week since I was still getting positive tests. Could it be ovulation bleeding? I've never had this before though? It's certainly not pre af spotting. It's clear cm but with red??

Wasn't sure whether to share this with you. I've not done anything like this before but it made me feel a bit better yesterday. It's not about length of time trying to conceive, but more about the mc. Feel like I should show someone so I don't feel like I wrote it for no reason. I guess you are the best ladies to share it with as don't know anyone on pregnancy loss thread. Hope you don't think I'm weird!

Blue sky just down the road here too Sid! Sorry you've not been feeling well. Can I assume the clinic agreed for you to go ahead without seeing the specialist lady regards the meds??

SidneyBristow · 07/01/2014 14:52

Hi gang, been a little absent lately from posting but I've been doing my best to keep up with the new news and new Berries . The new thread has moved quickly and I just wanted to say hi and chime in with support on all the bits and pieces posted lately. barking really sorry about your bridesmaids and bunny v excited for you that the next step in your cycle is here already! pip what stage are you on? Boodle have they given you a rough idea of when you'll be starting yet? Gill I agree with the rest, start in Jan! majority rules! Wink I was having similar thoughts a couple of weeks ago but will likely start at the end of Jan - I specifically asked the nurse today if I should be doing or avoiding anything in the runup, and she said categorically no, that a cycle is a stressful few weeks so do whatever I can to keep life as normal, or not feel deprived etc. HA, how was body pump? I'm always in awe of the people who leave that class as I file in for zumba. Bluebirdy we're watching Breaking Bad too! Jesse is the handsomest meth-head I've ever seen Blush

Hi to everyone else - I swear I'm paying attention to everyone's news and cheering everyone on, but I'm still clawing my way back from a horrific virus and I'm still not back to full throttle yet. Am I delusional, or can I see blue sky from the window? Hmm surely it's a paracetemol-induced hallucination?

BlueBirdy · 07/01/2014 08:09

Thanks all for info and advice re temping - I'm a really light sleeper which doesn't help, and I'm starting to wake up naturally just before my temp alarm (4:45am) which isn't ideal. They crashed this morning so I expect AF will arrive today. I've never had anything but a 27 or 28 day cycle, so being 2 days late was messing with my head!

Feather your temps were confusing me too, hope the new thermometer puts things right!

Tiger good luck! My first appt they made sure we were eligible and they advised us that IVF (ICSI) was best for us, then got detailed IVF appt 6 weeks later, and 8 weeks from then should have the planing appt.

Bunny eeek! Really excited and nervous for you! Hoping for all the best!

In other news, DH and I only just realised that Breaking Bad Season 5 had a part 2! Ha, I liked how it had 'ended'! So we are back into that now. Anyway, it is pelting it down here in the South West, so pleased that I have a day off today! Hope everyone else has a good day!

FeatherFeather11 · 06/01/2014 23:26

Oooooh bunny things are moving super quick! How fab! You'll be fine and it'll be over before you know it (don't mean to sound flippant though - you have every right to be a little nervous, obvs)

HappyAmbler · 06/01/2014 23:15

ooh Bunny I'm not in IVF land yet so I don't know if if would be excited or scared - but good luck! Thanks

HappyAmbler · 06/01/2014 23:04

Birdy I'm an old hand at temping - have been doing it for almost two years now. Sigh.

Of course I hope this temp blip is a good sign. But personally, I've given up temping after I've caught o, as I found myself analysing every little drop (could it be an implantation dip?!) or peak (could my chart have gone triphasic?!)

Sometimes my temperature crashes before AF, sometimes after. Of course it depends on how accurate you're being with times etc. (I'm not v these days) But I think sometimes random temps just happen.

God - I really don't mean this to sound so negative! Just wanted to give my two cents Smile

Bunnygirlie · 06/01/2014 23:03

Just popping in, pip I think if somebody who'd been trying a few months told me how they couldn't cope I would probably lunch them in the face!

Forgot to mention earlier, they want to do egg collection on Thursday Shock

barking you should ask if your acu can get tinctures instead of the old twig boiling routine. It was part of the reason I stopped seeing my first acupuncturist - it was SO foul. Tablets aren't meant to be great.

ambler wet shoes/feet all day. *shudder Flowers

HappyAmbler · 06/01/2014 22:47

feather I don't know if this is relevant as everyone's cycle is different, but I often get spotting half way between ov and AF that disappears for a few days before AF starts properly. As someone else has said, it could just be a weird cycle.

HappyAmbler · 06/01/2014 22:41

Hello everyone!

Typing in bed on my phone so can't see (or remember!) who said what!

Someone asked about our respective Mondays... My first day back in the office for two weeks wasn't great...

For a start, it was bloody DARK when my alarm went off this morning. Surely the mornings should be getting lighter by now?!

Then the Victoria line was suspended so I was late (of course I feel sorry for the person under the train).

Then it was completely shitting it down with rain so I got SOAKED walking from the station, and spent most of the day with wet shoes/feet.

My new year's resolution to go home at a reasonable hour didn't go so well.

Oh, and I'm completely broken from my first ever body pump class yesterday (part of the new year fitness effort).

On a positive note, I booked an acupuncture consultation for Saturday. With all the positive comments on here I'm convinced it's definitely going to work Grin

barkingtreefrog · 06/01/2014 22:33

xpost feather. No idea about the spotting. Could be that your cycles haven't settled down yet though so it wouldn't be totally strange to have a couple of freaky cycles.

barkingtreefrog · 06/01/2014 22:30

pip Since October?! She hasn't a clue!!!! Shock

My pg colleague seems to have doubled in size over the holidays. Can't wait for her to leave for maternity to be honest. I took bitchy pleasure in the fact that she has expanded everywhere though, whilst I, of course, when I get diffed this year, will have a lovely neat bump and I'll retain my sporty figure meaning you won't even be able to tell I'm pg from behind Grin.

I just took my herbal drink. It was absolutely foul. I put sh7t loads of sugar and a large swig of vimto in it but it still made me wretch. Can't believe I kept it down to be honest. Out tomorrow night though, not sure how I'm going to be able to do the 2 hour boiling routine. I can see this herbal thing not going very well. I shall have to ask about tablets instead...

FeatherFeather11 · 06/01/2014 22:28

Thanks all - feeling much better now after a Powerplate and spin class. I've decided that I need to lose a stone in the next six months - may help with the pcos etc and also with ivf if that's what I end up doing. Don't really want the FC going "we can't put you on a waiting list until your bmi is down". I figure if I preempt it, then they can't say anything. Not that I'm huge, but I'm packing a bit more weight than I should be and it's crept up over the last two months!

Still spotting. CD19. Think it may be a very early af. It feels like it's about to start now. Not sure how or why but I'm just going with it. Any thoughts about that, anyone?

Wowee - sometimes I forget how many of you are teachers! It must be so full-on. My hat is tipped in your directions as it's really not a job I think I could ever manage.

pip ttc since October and "can't cope"?! Seriously! I'm mentally hurling a sausage her way too.

tiger they threw me in at the deep end at my first FC appointment - bloods, AMH, OH's SA, dildocam. I was a little surprised as I assumed the first one would just be a nice chat! Prepare for any eventuality!

saz Uuuurgh!!! Re sil's friend!

Pipbin · 06/01/2014 22:07

My TA announced her pregnancy today and I knew for ages and I'm really pleased as she was trying for ages and then had a loss at 20 weeks.
Meanwhile another girl 'can't cope with pregnancy announcements and babies'. Now I would sympathise but she's only been trying since October! I'm going after her with a sausage.

BoodleDoo · 06/01/2014 21:22

I've managed three lessons now, but not the ones I need for tomorrow! I'd laugh if it wasn't so pathetic.

barkingtreefrog · 06/01/2014 21:21

I've got a special boomerang sausage Boodle, when it's whacked you it'll come back and whack me. I've been sat on my laptop for 2 hours trying to do school work as I've got my bridesmaids coming round this weekend then as soon as they've left we're on our way over to DP's mums for his Granny's funeral on Monday. This means that all my planning needs to be done and ready on the desk for Monday's supply teacher by the time I leave work on Thursday!! So far I have ordered myself a new torch for night running after extensive online research, some batteries to go in it, and done 10 minutes of Twinkl work and had a few ideas for guided reading. I have managed to follow an episode of Don't Tell the Bride though Blush. I've also looked a little into reflexology and fertility. None of this is helping get my work done and I'm out tomorrow night, and Wednesday, and Thursday...

Bunnygirlie · 06/01/2014 20:51

Hello!

How was Monday peeps?

feather Sorry to hear about family stress and the TTC blues, it really is crap sometimes isn't it!

tiger like the other berries have said, the appts vary so much! At my first one in sept we went through all the test results and what they could mean, I had a dildocam which confirmed PCO. That and my DHs low sperm count meant ivf was really our only option. I expected more tests but got put on the 4/5 month waiting list for a lap and dye, we used our savings to have that in October so that sped things up. We were then very very lucky not to have a waiting list for the actual ivf in our area.

boodle get ready

BoodleDoo · 06/01/2014 20:29

Tiger, my experience at the first FC appointment was pretty much identical to Barking's though, as she said, the whole system is so wretchedly inconsistent! I have a friend who has started initial investigations and her suggested course of action is completely different to what I had.

Now, someone kick me up the bum / wang me with a sausage, please. I have one lesson planned for tomorrow yet I am sat watching trash TV and mumsnetting!

happylass · 06/01/2014 20:03

Tiger my 1st FC appt was also just a nurse asking questions although she did nothing other than pass me on to the consultant (3 bloody months later) who then ordered bloods for AMH plus a HSG which I'm hopefully getting done in a few weeks time. As Barking said though everywhere is vastly differently. For example Bunny had her first appt the same week as me and she's half way through IVF whilst I haven't even made it on to the 18 month waiting list yet!

barkingtreefrog · 06/01/2014 19:03

tiger if it's anything like my first appointment it will just be a nurse asking you questions and booking you in for any further tests not done by your gp, in my case an hsg and the dildocam. When all that's done you see the consultant next time round. Of course nothing is consistent with fertility and the nhs so your experience could be totally diffferent!

tigerdog · 06/01/2014 18:57

Hi everyone, hope you've all managed to survive Monday!

Win, I would second everything the others have said about your GP and push for a referral. I’d recommend reading the NICE guidance on fertility if you haven’t already as it is helpful to see the guidelines for referrals/testing/IVF etc that your GP should be following. Lady posted a link earlier on the thread.

Ambler I am another fan of acupuncture. I have been going for about 3 months, and I feel much better in myself, although obviously not pg – yet! A good friend of mine credits electro-acupuncture with getting her pg after several months ttc and discovering she wasn’t ovulating every month and has PCOS. She said something just literally ‘popped’ and the very next cycle she got pregnant.

Reflexology is something I have also considered. I have a colleague who has been ttc for over a year and has what seems to be a short luteal phase with a week of spotting before her period. The therapist immediately diagnosed her as likely to have low progesterone from all of the symptoms she had. Four sessions of reflexology and the next cycle she had no spotting at all and a 14 day luteal phase.

Are these things coincidence? I don’t know…..but on the face of it they are getting the right results....

barking I’m sorry to hear about your bridesmaids being rubbish or pg.

feather sorry to hear you are feeling so sad and have so much going on.

Hullo to everyone else!

First NHS FC appointment next week - any ideas what to expect berries? They haven't provided any information at all....

barkingtreefrog · 06/01/2014 18:43

blue my temps stay high until cd3ish then crash down well they did when I used to have cycles.

wino that could make a difference, if you're in a hotel it'll be a different room temperature than your bedroom anyway. If it didn't drop below cover line I wouldn't count it as significant. I temp in C so the numbers don't mean anything to me, sorry!

feather hope you're feeling better Thanks .

My day at work was ok. PPA time taken over with problem child again, took two of us to restrain her while she tried to kick and bite me. But on the plus side the head has let me have a day off to go with DP to his granny's funeral.
