barking good idea, that is truly tempting fate! how can she resist!?

barkingtreefrog · 12/01/2014 14:29

Ta parsley, just entered a new 'subscribe and save' Grin .

Parsley2506 · 12/01/2014 11:30

Morning berries!

Just a quick note to say Amazon are flogging Pregnacare Conception (30s) for just over a fiver at the moment. I think this still works out a tad cheaper than Boots 3 for 2 etc. (plus you don't have to go to the shops in this frosty weather!)

I ordered 5, hopefully I won't need more than 1 tho! [desperately crossing fingers, toes etc. etc.]

barkingtreefrog · 12/01/2014 08:56

Just had a look Birdy, I've already tried it just under a different name.

Had a productive day yesterday with wedding stuff and bridesmaids. Didn't get upset over the bridesmaid pg with twins (although I couldn't bring myself to talk about her pg and I think she was worried I was being off with her. To be fair she had asked me not to tell anyone else as she's only 10 weeks, so there were limited opportunities anyway when others weren't around).
The bridesmaid that can't make the hen do in favour of spending time with her son arrived just before 2 and left by 4.... To be fair I think her husband is being an arse rather than her being unhelpful. The third bridesmaid who was going to be late to the friday night has decided to take her daughter out of school on the Friday so she can be there Grin .

BlueBirdy · 12/01/2014 08:34

Parsley, Barking the leaflet does say to check with a medical professional if you are TTC or pregnant. You can get it from behind the counter at Boots. My bad skin was linked to my cycle too, maybe worth a try if you are allowed to use it, hope it does work if you do give it a go.

Bunny ooh, four! FX for you!! There is the ol' faithful 'stomach bug' you could come down with.

RP what a day!! Hope today is better!

PuppyMummy · 12/01/2014 08:14

happy just to add my hsg was fine too. no worse than a smear, just took a bit longer and more ppl in the room!

we dtd on the day it was done cos u can't do it before and mine was cd9 and I ov cd10/11. didnt get pregnant but didnt cause any problems either!

BlindKitty · 12/01/2014 07:52

happy it seems that the worst things to happen are gown related if you go by me or parsley Grin

Oh and the woman booking the appointment was a complete bitch! She almost wouldn't book my appointment as I have been on hol before it and she didn't believe I wouldn't have sex on hol! If anything, we loved having the break from sex haha!

Gillster · 11/01/2014 23:11

Happy my HSG was fine to. I could have DTD on the same evening if needed. It might be a little watery down there for a few hours afterwards but you shouldn't bleed.

barkingtreefrog · 11/01/2014 23:05

Happy Yep, ignore my horrific experience, it was indeed my shellfish allergy (as kitty said) that I believe caused the horrendous pain that ended up getting me admitted hours later and put on morphine. The procedure itself was nothing more than uncomfortable. If it hadn't have been for the effects of the iodine, I reckon I'd have been fine dtd later that day.

Birdy I've not heard of that. There's not much I've been able to try in the last 2 years as a lot of treatments are not suitable whilst ttc. No cream has ever worked (and I can't tell you how many I've tried), my acne has always been linked with my hormones.

rp that sounds like a very frustrating day.Wine ?

Parsley2506 · 11/01/2014 22:56

Same as boodle. I was a bit cramps for the rest of the day but that was it. I feel like the consultant told us to wait a few days but that might be memory playing tricks!

kitty I put the bloody gown on backwards so was in the way of the dildocam, so basically had to strip and re-do it in front of the consultant and 3 other medical bods in the room. Blush

BlindKitty · 11/01/2014 22:49

happy tmi coming but I had this weird paper mâché type discharge for a few weeks after so Dh wouldn't touch me with a barge pole haha! Worse bit was not having any knickers on but having to walk down a corridor in an operating gown desperately trying to hold a sanitary towel in place haha! I think barking's terrible experience was more to do with her shellfish allergy as they use iodine so try not to worry. Oh and although it didn't do anything for me, my friend did get pg after hers.

BoodleDoo · 11/01/2014 22:38

Happy, my HSG didn't really affect me at all. I'd have probably handled DTD on the same day and definitely the day after. However, someone else (maybe Barking?) had a really bad experience so I guess it all depends.

happylass · 11/01/2014 22:34

Yep didn't want to waste the apparently more fertile time after the HSG which is part of the reason we're planning to jump back on the TTC wagon. For those of you that've had it done, how long after were you up for DTD? I've got quite a short cycle so usually OV on cd11. Though suppose it all depends on which day I can get booked in for.

Parsley2506 · 11/01/2014 22:23

rp we've had days like that so I feel your pain. We're a pair of enthusiastic but inept DIYers despite DHs mantra being 'measure twice, cut once'. Grin

happy good luck with the HSG. I had mine end of June last year, seriously undignified stuff but worth it for the peace of mind. And further to what kitty said, DH and I conceived on our 3rd cycle afterwards (although i miscarried) after a previously fruitless 18m. Hmm

I'm taking agnus castus for the first 10 days of each cycle at the moment, as I also took that the month I got my BFP. Do any of you ladies have any experience/thoughts on this supplement?

BlindKitty · 11/01/2014 22:09

happy haven't seen her today, just went round the other day. Was just planning something when she's a little more ready. Re wedding dress, what better tempt of fate?! You're bound to get pregnant if it means a whole new dress! Oh and you know they say you're more fertile after Hsg...

rp what an utterly crap day! I would have let you off with the van (I used to work on the service desk when I was at uni).

Bunnygirlie · 11/01/2014 20:25

Parsley I think it's during the 2ww that I need distractions!

Hey janey how lovely of you to pop in! How are you and baby?

kitty no idea why not Monday, all I know is Tuesday is best as it will then be a blastocyst.

Ooh happy wedding plans ace! And FX for the hcg.

RP oh no what a day!

Reading the news just makes me grrrrrrrrr the chap with 22 children, Jessica instadiffer and now some 43 year old woman who gave birth when she didn't even know she was pg!!!!!

Spending my weekend waiting and telling and planning white lies! Nobody (except reflex lady and one friend) knows so avoiding family and having time of work means lots of porkie pies, Gawd knows what excuse I will use to take Tuesday and possibly Wednesday off.

RevoltingPeasant · 11/01/2014 18:07

Oh Bunny how exciting! You and DH must be super to make 4! So pleased for you xx

So I had the most spectacularly pointless day ever. When we got home from Xmas visits we found water coming through the spare bedrm wall as gutter right above it had broken off and created permanent downspout against external wall. We decided to fix the guttering today. Went to B&Q to buy ladder.

I said to DH, shall we measure up first to check it fits in the Skoda? No, he scoffs, of course it will.

So of course it didn't. So he asked for it to be delivered - nothing doing for a week but they could hire us a van for one hour to take it home.

Great, hired van. Accident on road ahead on the way home = dreadful traffic and so we exceeded our hour and lost deposit. Never mind - got home at last - extended ladder against wall of house - it doesn't reach guttering.

So we've spent over 100 quid and guttering still a mess and due to rain tomorrow. I just about restrained myself for saying to DH, I told you we should've measured first.....

Gah!!!

happylass · 11/01/2014 17:31

Evening Berries and welcome Parsley. The special pot is indeed one to wee in (or pimp as we berries like to call it!). Several of us favour the little glass ramekins that the Gü desserts come in and not just because we get to eat lots of delicious puddings
Currently waiting for AF to show up so I can book in for my HSG. Thinking of starting back TTC then as getting fed up of waiting. DP has promised to buy me a new dress if, by some miracle, we did get pg in the next few months and can't get in to the one I have. Went bridesmaid dress shopping today so another wedding job ticked off the list.
Kitty how was your afternoon with your friend? Hope she's doing ok
What's everyone else up to to this weekend?

Parsley2506 · 11/01/2014 16:57

Btw, can I ask what the 'special pot' is, referred to in the entrance criteria? If it's one to pee in, I have one of them! It's actually a plastic camping mug, but pot like nonetheless!

BlindKitty · 11/01/2014 16:48

lady fab idea. Might see if any come up on groupon

blue we've known each other years but have been each others rock throughout ttc. Just hoping she gets pregnant again before this little bambino comes along Sad

bunny how come not Monday? I'm so excited for you! Grin
