New member alert!!!
My husband and I have just decided to ttc! We are both youngest in our family although both on mid 20s! We want our children to be close to their cousins who range from 2-5! Just hoping our brothers and sisters won't be judgemental as they were all in 30s when they started having children! We have been on nice holidays but feel that a baby is the next step and we are very excited! Just looking for some moral support!!!

Hello to all the new ladies on here, and the 'older' ones too! Wink

Just a quick update from my end, I've been lurking for 48 hours hoping something would happen, but...nothing.

I'm now 4 days late (CD30) and no period - literally in my whole life I've never waited more than 26 days for AF! Still no BFP either, despite me now peeing on them religiously every morning...
At this point I'd take a period just so I can start again for January - the unknowing is killing me, and it's only been 4 days! Aaargh!

Right.

RetroHippy · 12/12/2013 17:49

Woo hoo! My cheapies have arrived Grin

Tested again just for the hell of it, still not pg (no surprises there)

Also have opks and a thermometer, hurrah for things I can pee on!

Feel shitty still, boobs have started hurting, look like a whale and am ready to cry or kill someone. This is less than fun Sad

Mummyinpink1289 · 11/12/2013 14:18

Welcome MrsF, weird reading your post as thats sort of what happened to me but the other way around - straight after getting married (we got married 2 months ago) something just chanegd in me and i agreed to start ttc. I already have 2 but my dh has none so he really wanted his own to complete our little family unit.
Im beginning to think i too shouldnt mention the monitoring thing to my dh as he gets all stressed out and worries about things too much when he hears the details!
I did start using opk sticks everyday for a week or so but then decided to stop as i was beginning to obsess and be dissapointed everytime it was negative - the only time it was actually positivie was the day my random 12 hour AF/bleed came! so i give up on them!

MrsF2510 · 11/12/2013 08:27

Hello everyone! Have relatively recently got married and DH (after years of putting me off the subject of babies frustratingly) announced the day after our wedding that he wanted to try for a baby -with no warning at all! Was thrilled obv but suggested we wait a few months to get finances back on track - plus did not want to come off pill half way through a pack or be pregnant on honeymoon abroad. Had been on pill for 11 years so came off end Oct/ Nov and was so pleased to have AF beginning of Dec, therefore this is my first month of ttc. Like you have said pebbles82, I don't want to mention the monitoring stuff as he switches off and I don't want him to change his mind! Am really excited and wishing everybody ttc luck!

pebble82 · 11/12/2013 00:18

I don't think my DP wants to know all the details. I mentioned all the monitoring stuff and he sort of zoned out. I don't want to push it as I'd hate him to freak out and call the whole thing off. Will be secretly measuring/testing anyway (even though I started out thinking I wouldn't... who was I kidding!)

RetroHippy · 10/12/2013 22:48

That's why I didn't let DH know I'd tested. Last time I went mental imagined I was pg for no reason, I tested, told him I wasn't and he just said 'Well I knew that.' Angry

If he really did I wouldn't need to keep peeing on sticks Grin

Cannot wait till we're actively trying and he's feeling excited too! I'll wind him up no end!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 10/12/2013 22:41

Yes retro they're from amazon. I am so tempted to just test test test now but I know I need to get a grip! DH thinks it's hilarious! Somebody slap me Sad

RetroHippy · 10/12/2013 22:39

Haha! Things, are yours from Amazon?! Think the same company are making a fortune just from us on this thread Grin I got 20 hpts and 50 opks too!

RetroHippy · 10/12/2013 22:37

Finnable I love the idea of me running out of the loo flicking wee up the walls in excitement because that's exactly what will happen!

Enjoy peeing in your ramekin. I personally favour an old Doritos dip jar! And I'm gross cos it goes in the dishwasher after Wink

Pebble I bought those too! Very excited for my baby-making kit to arrive through the post, haha! No idea what I'm doing with it, knowing me I'll end up peeing on the thermometer and sticking the ovulation strip on my mouth (or elsewhere, the Fertility Friend app asked if I was going to be temping orally or vaginally - I'm pretty sure DH would wonder what I was up to doing that first thing. Though it may have its advantages Wink)

I guess we all just have to sit tight and thinking the Christmas booze as a positive!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 10/12/2013 22:34

Despite the BFN I am still convinced I am pregnant....the issue is this is my first proper cycle in 12 years and everything I am feeling could be 'normal' for me....headache, nausea, sore boobs etc. No tiredness yet though...oh well. Ordered 20 test strips this morning and 50 opks for bargan tenner all in...that should keep me going (for a month maybe Wink )

Finnable · 10/12/2013 21:38

Thank you ajmc - I'm not too hopeful, but I do love a good POAS first thing in the morning! Although, more accurately, it's pee-in-an-old-plastic-ramekin...

Retro - Boo to the BFN. I love that you did it in secret too, hopefully you'll have your BFP to wave at him soon! Though not too enthusiastically or you'll flick wee everywhere.

Glad the pain's gone Kitty maybe have a large red to celebrate?

Have fun QueenF making Christmas babies...

Off to bed now, big presentation tomorrow morning (boo!) but night out tomorrow (yay!)

pebble82 · 10/12/2013 21:34

Hi everyone. Just here to share the love, hopes, waits, frustration etc...

Both me and DP are 31 and on cycle 1 after coming off mini pill in early Oct. Just had first proper AF (now on cd10) so playing the "guess ovulation" game now. Think cycle length will be all over the place for a while so bought cheapie OPK sticks from amazon and basal thermometer to try and understand what my body is doing with itself. Just done first OPK strip... negative. Quite pleased as DP is away so would have been v upset if we'd missed our chance.

Noticed some of you are concerned about being too young/people judging because of your age, well I just say, screw everyone else, only you know what's right.

I think whatever age, if it's the first baby it's always going to be scary and completely life changing... but massively exciting and fantastic too.

Good luck everyone, hope to see some BFP news from you all very soon.

QueenFaerie86 · 10/12/2013 20:36

I think it must be just a clear out, I've never clotted so much before and I feel so light headed. Think it must just be a nasty AF. Oh well back to waiting for ovulation time! Will have to come off the thread now grrrrr, will be ovulating right around Christmas ... At least dh will be home ;)

KittyVonCatsington · 10/12/2013 20:27

Faerie, could it be just a good "clean out"? Sorry if TMI. Too many BFNs at the moment, so sorry ladies Sad.

Hello, TreaclePie and ajmc!!!

My pain has gone, thank God. Not impressed if I am going to have that next month!

RetroHippy · 10/12/2013 19:05

BFN. Which I knew.

RetroHippy · 10/12/2013 18:46

I haven't peed since lunch, so way over 4 hours. Figure my pee wil be concentrated enough? Especially as I've hardly drunk anything all afternoon.

Waiting till DH (still in denial) goes out to POAS...

Will report back in half an hour!

Finnable · 10/12/2013 18:39

Oh Faerie that sounds horrible. Hugs to you.

It could just be a rogue period. Were you on the pill/implant before, I hear that can make your AF act very strangely for a couple of months?

Hope you feel better soon!

ajmc · 10/12/2013 18:37

waves back:)

Finnable - I feel your pain! I was thinking of not POASing tomorrow and waiting until AF was 2 days late, but who am I kidding, I'm going to have to test tomorrow.... It is really annoying when there's a big night out planned. Hope you get your BFP tomorrow!

QueenFaerie86 · 10/12/2013 18:35

It's been a rough couple of days, I started AF a day later then I had calculated so was very hopeful that AF wasn't going to show. But it suddenly turned to hell with excessive clots, abnormally heavy, almost passing out with dizziness and cramps and nausea. I had this when I miscarried before but this can't be right this early on being the first
Full ttc month. Right? Can't be??!! Just a very heavy horrible AF.........right?

Finnable · 10/12/2013 18:26

Ooh, hello new ladies! waves like a loon

Things - gutted for you, but maybe it just needs a bit longer?
Retro - let us know in the morning, enjoy POASing, it's addictive!

I've got a BIG night out planned tomorrow, and am DESPERATE to know if I should drink wine or not... Blooming pain in the buttocks!

I'm now two days late, BFN's all around, but STILL no AF... I just want to know now, either way!

I'm off to sulk in the bath now. Xmas Confused

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 10/12/2013 16:19

Welcome newcomers Grin careful the symptom spotting and obssessing is contagious Wink

ajmc · 10/12/2013 15:06

hello! mind if I join you? I'm new here and also first month TTC #1.

This TWW business is pretty annoying isn't it! I have POAS maybe 4 or 5 times now - all BFN. AF due today but not turned up yet but I have a short cycle so I still have a smidgen of hope. Which is also slightly annoying as we're going out tonight and I could do with a mulled wine!

Hope you're all doing well :)

Treaclepie19 · 10/12/2013 14:50

Also, sorry I came into this conversation so late! Was on my phone and didn't see all the messages for some reason...

Treaclepie19 · 10/12/2013 14:36

Hi everyone,
I'll be TTC from January, I feel the same! Me and DH both feel ready... we have been together for 7 years and married since August. I'm 23 and he is 24. Both settled in our jobs and house. However both my sisters were in their late 30's when they had children so I'm not sure how they will react.
Congrats everyone on your exciting news TTC :)

RetroHippy · 10/12/2013 08:06

I caved Blush

Spent more on a two pack of cheap Tescos tests than I did on 20 internet cheapies.

Place your bets now on whether AF turns up between now and tomorrow morning when I can actually use them...
