New member alert!!!
My husband and I have just decided to ttc! We are both youngest in our family although both on mid 20s! We want our children to be close to their cousins who range from 2-5! Just hoping our brothers and sisters won't be judgemental as they were all in 30s when they started having children! We have been on nice holidays but feel that a baby is the next step and we are very excited! Just looking for some moral support!!!

I'm planning on just drinking mainly juice. Will make sure I "top up" my own drink, just incase! So OH is away now, ovulation tests were positive yesterday so DTD last night. Now it's fingers crossed time!

MrsF2510 · 16/12/2013 21:18

You are quite right pebbles and unfortunately I am just the same. I guessed my friend was pregnant because she's a fan of goats cheese and she didn't order a goats cheese starter when we went out for a meal! As somebody who clearly enjoys a drink, I am going to seriously struggle keeping it secret.

Speaking of eating healthily, can I just gloat though that I have been eating so healthily - longest I have stuck to a diet in my life!

pebble82 · 16/12/2013 21:06

My cutting down excuse is that I'm doing Slimming World and don't want all the hard work to slip over the festive period. New Year excuse will be a resolution based "healthy start to 2014".

I'm not giving up completely until BFP but this way it makes it less obvious and easier to keep up the pretence. I'm known as a bit of a partier so subtle changes over time is really the only way without raising suspicions. Especially at our age, people at work are always reading into everything and symptom spotting. Annoying!

toots123 · 16/12/2013 20:31

Not drinking will be tough over xmas! Im going to wait on bfpbefore cutting it out completely. Need to watch I dont get carried away haha.

All going well, we will get bfp just before ny eve and we have a big night out planned!

MrsF2510 · 16/12/2013 20:16

Thanks Treaclepie. Could pains be a) OV or b) implantation pains?

Could you say yes to drink and get your partner to drink some or tip some away (sorry I know it's wasteful!)? Or can you not just be driver?

I am planning to use all of those excuses over the festive period!

Treaclepie19 · 16/12/2013 20:11

Hi everyone!
Sorry I've not posted, been away symptom spotting.
I have pains that feel like AF is coming but not due for 10 days. Odd. Just ordered 4 more pregnancy tests as I know I will want to test before AF is due.
Have my family Christmas meal saturday with free bar and I'm convinced people will question me not drinking, definitely going to say water infection.
Mrs F, I've been looking for CM that is like raw egg white...

MrsF2510 · 16/12/2013 20:01

Erm, not quite sure how but Gina was supposed to be DH (typed him a)!! To clarify I am not trying to DTD with Gina!

MrsF2510 · 16/12/2013 19:58

Still sounds very possible Toots! So think a few of us will be busy tonight! Wink

Am hoping anyway as DH is still working. May make Gina huge coffee at 11pm!!!

toots123 · 16/12/2013 19:51

Your right Mrs F! Hoping we are still in with a chance! Just told hubby we are having an early night.Xmas Wink

Not sure how long my cycles are yet so wont know when to poas. Two weeks, I suppose :)

MrsF2510 · 16/12/2013 19:09

Depends how keen you are to conceive this month Toots but I would tonight if possible to maximise the chances! Go on, try to get in the mood!

toots123 · 16/12/2013 18:28

I got a positive opk yesterday and dtd Saturday so not sure if its even worth doing it tonight or not (im so romantic!)

Assuming I'll ovulate soon (if I havent already done so) today is cd10 so its pretty early in my cycle!
I'll keep an eye on these opks in case yesterday was a false positive!

The joys....

HippyJess · 16/12/2013 17:53

Got my first positive OPK today, eep! :) DTD yesterday but will be jumping DP as soon as he gets in from work even though it will be late tonight Grin

MrsF2510 · 16/12/2013 17:40

I am on day 12 so assuming a perfect cycle, I would ovulate on day 14. Had a few stomach pains this morning which seems promising - defo going to jump DH tonight! He's not getting out of it for a third day!

If anybody knows, what am I looking out for CM wise? (Sorry using old fashioned methods meaning there is no POAS convos but will be CM convos!!)

Thanks!

Boosk · 16/12/2013 08:45

thanks MrsF, lots of luck to you too. Smile

MrsF2510 · 16/12/2013 08:24

Welcome Boosk! Wishing you lots of luck!!! X

Boosk · 16/12/2013 08:05

Hi everyone,
newbie here! First time ttc for me after we were told last month that my partner would be having surgery which could affect fertility. we decided to have a go before the op as we may not be able to try again for a while if at all (he is sperm banking just in case). I'm now waiting to test on 25th.

good luck everyone. Smile

MrsF2510 · 16/12/2013 07:38

So had my first evening where I was trying not to drink, sipped at my mulled wine and DH drank some of it for me etc. Didnt have a refill and now convinced that friends will know we are trying!!

All seemed a waste when wanted to DTD on Sat and Sun but DH was shattered! In fairness this is a ridiculously busy time of year for him but felt so disappointed. Not that he knows this as didn't want to be that obsessed women! Pretty sure it's karma for those times over the years that I've been too tired!!!

greeneyes27 · 15/12/2013 23:16

Hi everyone! Smile very new to this its great to find somewhere to chat to others in the same situation. also first month TTC im 27 and my partner is 35 and feel the time is right. Very excited but also impatient always looking for signs and then feeling silly as im realistic it might not happen right away. need to calm down and just see what happens but its difficult as you don't know what to expect!

wishing everyone the best of luck xxx

ReginaFelange22 · 15/12/2013 22:54

Sounds like some of us are in the same predicament!

I pee in a big cup and then test straight away. Didn't know about the 20 mins wait!

My OH is offshore so away every 2 weeks...so far I've ovulated, according to the tests, either the day before or after he is away, this could make things extremely difficult for conceiving! Only on cycle 2 so not going to get too down about it as I know it can take time. These boards tell me that!!

Last month I seemed to have every pg symptom going but was just ovulation. This month had none! Strange lol!!

Treaclepie19 · 15/12/2013 22:42

I'm planning on saying I have a water infection this month Finnable haha.
Not that I really think I am pg... Just going crazy symptom spotting! :p

Finnable · 15/12/2013 21:45

Hey all!
Jess - huge congratulations! Such a lovely thing to look forward to!
Retro - love the idea of immaculate conception, so hope you get a BFP on your next POAS.
Hibou - great stuff - now get sh8gging!
Regina - it only takes one sperm etc!
Hope everyone's had a fab weekend, I've just got back from my sister's, it's been bloody hard to turn down my usual wine/cheese/port... How on Earth is everyone planning to keep quiet and not drink over Christmas, I need inspiration better sneaking skills!

Hibou7688 · 15/12/2013 21:06

I've never left my cheapy opks 20 mins! I put the stick in straight away. Getting very faint lines the last 2 days so hoping that they are working! Will keep going til I get a dark line.

pebble82 · 15/12/2013 20:54

mummyinpink the cheapie sticks I have say in the instructions to wait 20mins. I had no line then faint line on Wed then nothing again. I don't think I would have ovulated as no other signs but who knows. I'm bored of trying to interpret results now. Just going to dtd as much as possible, which is impossible this week as OH is away on business so I share your frustration Regina

RetroHippy · 15/12/2013 20:16

Also (sorry, tmi), had quite a lot of discharge today, quite thick and creamy.

I think I'm imagining things because I want to be pg so badly Sad stupid microgynon Angry

RetroHippy · 15/12/2013 20:07

Day 43 since my last period... Xmas Grin

Little nipple pain but that's gone. Craving milk which I don't usually drink and absolutely knackered, but that could just be end of term-itis.

Not totally abstaining but taking it a bit easier than I usually would at Christmas just in case Blush

By my reckoning we DTD three weeks ago but tested this morning (again!) BFN. Getting seriously pissed off now!

Joked with DH that if I am pg we'll have to call it Jesus as the conception was pretty much immaculate!!!
