New member alert!!!
My husband and I have just decided to ttc! We are both youngest in our family although both on mid 20s! We want our children to be close to their cousins who range from 2-5! Just hoping our brothers and sisters won't be judgemental as they were all in 30s when they started having children! We have been on nice holidays but feel that a baby is the next step and we are very excited! Just looking for some moral support!!!

Bumped into a friend this morning who had a baby early this year and she said it was the best thing that ever happened to her!! Jealous lol!!

HippyJess · 30/11/2013 15:02

DP currently cuddled up with nephew. Ovaries exploding.

ReginaFelange22 · 29/11/2013 22:40

As it stands I'll be due on the 27th ish! Depending on cycle length! If my AF goes back as it was before I've still got 5 days of hell ahead at the moment lol!!

Can I just say it's so refreshing to come on here say whatever and know that we are all wanting the same and have that support too.

I don't fancy telling anyone until we have a scan but I doubt I'll keep quiet from my mum and dad!

KittyVonCatsington · 29/11/2013 18:07

I'm due AF on the 20th/21st as well! Till then, lots of SWI, if I'm not too shattered from work that is Smile. Was thinking about going shopping tomorrow for some new sexy pants to try and keep things interesting!

MrsW0931 · 29/11/2013 12:51

aww thats cute Jess, i know what u mean though it was like proper 'making love' instead of just shagging! and i know he felt the same i could just tell by even the way he kissed me. He was almost a bit nervous about it too bless him.

DH is excited atm, asked me what app he can download and keeps asking am i ovulating yet every hour. im like NO i havent even had an AF for over 2 years i have no clue when im due to ovulate! lol

HippyJess · 29/11/2013 12:47

Yes MrsW it felt different - somehow more significant? I suppose for us it's the whole "neither of us ever having had unprotected sex with someone" thing. It made me all smushy that we love each other this much and want a child together Blush . DP remains infuriatingly relaxed and says "it's all just sex until I knock you up", but he definitely seemed different too! Grin

k4tie84 · 29/11/2013 12:16

I've brought a pack of 50 ovulation sticks from Amazon and I’ve started testing everyday as all the apps, calculators etc. tell me different dates. on top of that we're DTD as much as possible... I think DH is secretly hoping it doesn't happen to quickly Wink

MrsW0931 · 29/11/2013 11:55

I also did another ovulation stick last night, nothing. So anoying having no clue where i am in my cycle cos of not having a period for over 2 years. Im no good at the waiting thing!

MrsW0931 · 29/11/2013 11:55

Yea i like that Jess SWI from now on for us both now the coils r out! Grin

So i lasted 24 hours before telling DH id had my coil out. lol. I happened to mention in an argument that id got him the beststed present ever for xmas that i was really excited about and so can we stop argueing about silly things and then from that point onwards it was 'tell me tell me tell me' all day long so i gave in (with a bit of bribery for having his bestest xmas present early ofcourse!). He was so excited and it was strangely different when we DTD last night..i dont know how to describe it - anyone else feel like that when they first started trying? Jess, you DTD last night too - did you feel different?

HippyJess · 29/11/2013 11:31

Stems from the MN acronym SWI - shagging with intent Grin I'm a fan of the phrase!

The whole thing with this baby-making business seems to be 'go with the flow' so that makes sense as a plan :) you don't know what'll happen or how you feel, so just go with it! Sage advice, yes yes Grin

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 29/11/2013 10:51

Grin love 'doing the deed with intent'-sounds like a criminal offence! We aren't close with my parents at all so won't be telling them. My sister definitely and in laws probably-they are great, just a bit worried they would tell DH's siblings (one of whom is engaged to my best mate!) which would then spiral into a lot of people knowing before we wanted them too...difficult... might just wait and see how we feel when the time comes

HippyJess · 29/11/2013 10:49

That's really good GoHump, glad things are moving forward positively! :)

Glad everything seems to be as it should be and hope you get your BFP soon K4tie :) my AF is due on the 5th and in spite of it being extreeeeemely unlikely I'm harbouring a secret hope she doesn't show up!

HippyJess · 29/11/2013 10:46

Morning folks :) DTD with "intent" last night for the first time, even though I missed my ovulation window this month - it was still exciting! Grin

ThingsThatGoHump I'd tell my mum and sister because I'd want their support if anything went wrong anyway (touch wood!), but not sure about PiL... I think I'd prefer to leave them til the 12 week scan but will wait and see how DP feels about as and when I actually get upduffed Wink

Everyone else - my dad, grandparents, friends etc - can wait until the first scan!

k4tie84 · 29/11/2013 10:42

Hi thingsthatgobumpinthenight I’m due on the 21st Dec. I've had 2 AF's since coming off the pill so hopefully everything is in working order.

Glad to hear your doctor was so enthusiastic and keen to talk to you about it. Hope everything goes ok.

DH and I have had the same conversation and we have said that we will tell parents and siblings. If we're unlucky enough to have a MC it will be nice to have the support from loved ones.

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 29/11/2013 10:23

Hi k4tie I'm due around the 19th or so but only had one AF since coming off the pill. Just had a docs appt for something unrelated and thought I'd mention we are trying as I have a condition which can affect pregnancy and will need to be managed carefully when it happens and she was so lovely, really enthusiastic and reassuring, almost excited Grin so nice to talk to someone about it.

I really hope it happens for us all soon.

Will you all be keeping it completely quiet until the first scan? We were discussing and DH reckons we should tell people who we'd tell if we had any issues anyway...so maybe my sis and the in laws...that would be it and we'd want them to keep it quiet...which I they would...

k4tie84 · 29/11/2013 09:45

Thanks Kittyvon! I think it will be harder to fool close friends but I'll give it a go.

I've brought ovulation sticks from amazon and both dh and I are taking pregnacare conception his and hers. I think I'm due to ovulate end of next week.

I'm a big planner and hate when things don't work out how you want them to. Trying really hard not to obsess over it.

When is everyone's af due in December?

ReginaFelange22 · 28/11/2013 22:11

Meant to also say that I just went to sleep too! I lay for about 20 mins or more if it was the morning too!

ReginaFelange22 · 28/11/2013 22:09

ThingsThatGoHump I done the bum/hip tilt thing lol! Bum in the air, looking like a right idiot but thought it couldn't be a bad thing! I just hope it's easier because the first AF is here and can now count the days etc. Although I also hope I don't go back to 7 day periods, with no let up!

Is the temping side of things easy to keep up with? How does it work?

Kittyrose1 · 28/11/2013 21:21

Lizzie,I hate waiting too and I must admit I like everything to happen in my control and this just can't be controlled so I need to learn to relax! How lovely to e a godparent, was it a nice service?
Are you going to try using the opk or stick to your own temp and cm monitoring ?

Lizzie1985 · 28/11/2013 20:04

Thingsthatghump I finished my last pill 5 weeks ago. I'm guessing it probably was my period. Feeling a lot better today after disappointment yday. I got my basal thermometer today, so I'm kinda hoping once I start charting my temps and CM that I'll understand where I am in my cycle. Kittyrose I'm finding it impossible to keep my mind off babies. I was godparent at a Christening on Sunday and it was hard- I want one so much and don't like waiting!

Kittyrose1 · 28/11/2013 18:48

Hi all, sorry to hear of the bfns and the arrivals of AF ! How do you ladies keep your mind off of babies?? Or do you? My friends are either pregnant or had a baby a baby at the moment! AF has finished so we are now getting back in action!
Good luck everyone !

KittyVonCatsington · 28/11/2013 18:01

Here's to the next month Regina, lots of virtual hugs Smile.

Welcome, k4tie, come here and talk to us instead-helps if you can't talk to people in real life! With regards to alcohol during the festive season, my thoughts were: get my own drinks and get non-alcoholic beer but put straight into glass or get a half coke without the vodka. To stop people buying drinks in say a round, I'll say, no, don't worry, I'll get my own! Around family during Christmas/New Year, I'll have to get DH on side and get him to sneakily swop drinks or get me alcoholic looking ones. Could end up quite farcical!

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 28/11/2013 17:45

Oh no regina....back to the grindstone Wink

ReginaFelange22 · 28/11/2013 11:06

Spoke to soon. It's turned up :( not surprised though but glad it's here to make things slightly easier!!

k4tie84 · 28/11/2013 10:21

Hi ladies. Hope you don't mind me joining in. DH and I are in our first month of TTC after coming off the pill in September. Super excited and its killing me not telling anyone. Next AF is due on the 21st Dec. I would love to be able to give DH a positive pregnancy test as a present on Christmas morning.

My dilemma is that it's obviously the party season and I've got a few Christmas parties and drinks to go to with friends and colleagues. I'd rather not drink much in case we're lucky enough to get a bfp but what excuse can I make? Smile
