TTC no 3? Anyone just started / about to start / about to start thinking about it?

I am absolutely not going to go nuts about it this time like I did for no 2. Because my kids have each other and won't be alone looking after their ancient parents in years to come. But a 3rd would be a bonus. And part of me doesn't care either way, and another part cannot wait for a lovely little snuggly new born. And part of me is enjoying getting my nights back, and my body, and is worried about the money, the lack of bedrooms, the need for a bigger car, having another miscarriage, or high risk pregnancy, a 3rd CS, a baby in intensive care. But then 5 months of no contraception and nothings happening..... The baby is 11 months, and we said we'd start putting more effort in once he is 1....

Anyone in the same boat? Want to hang out and worry / pretend not to worry?

Cake - I'm right that AF not due till this weekend? So still reason to keep fingers crossed. Good luck anyway and keeping fingers crossed for you and others.
It took 5 months to conceive DS2, not really long at all in the grand scheme of things but it felt like forever, given that DS1 was the first month. I really sympathise.

snowpink · 15/01/2014 12:34

Argh! And now a good friend of mine told me she's pregnant with her third, due around the due date from my miscarriage! Of course I'm happy for her and she held off telling me until some time had passed since the mc, but still! I wish I was a little more determined this cycle. But next cycle we start this dtd every other day! Bit more focus! Wink

inadreamworld · 14/01/2014 23:57

snowpink same as you I have not told any of my friends that we want a 3rd baby as a lot of people will think I am bonkers especially as my DC are 2.8 and 11 months. Also we have 2 girls and if number 3 doesn't come along or if number 3 is a girl I don't want them to think I am sad because we didn't have a boy because that isn't true. In fact I had a dream that we had a 3rd girl so lets see what happens......

snowpink · 14/01/2014 22:14

Go and get it checked out cake, especially if you fell pregnant easily before (and certainly if you've experienced any problems). Maybe I would fib a little and tell them you've been trying for over a year, not sure if they do much if it's been less than that.
I only speak to a very select few about ttc no 3. With no 1 and 2 it was different, everyone expected that from us and most of our friends were in the same boat, but with no 3 I fear that most think we're bonkers if that makes sense.

bonzo77 · 14/01/2014 12:02

cake I'm in the same boat as you. Totally. I'll prob wait till September before going to the GP. I'd love some reassurance that my insides are not all furred up with adhesions. And that I'm definitely ovulating.

It doesn't help that I can't talk about it with anyone either. Well, I could, but for some reason I just don't want people to know we're trying. Partly because of my age and the chances of failure and mc, I think.

I've decided I am going to make an GP appointment, it's been 8 months without contraception for us, and 5 months of trying properly. We won't go down any complicated route, but if there is something simple that I need to do, then I should find out. (I have no idea about fertility treatment though, so perhaps this doesn't exist?) I should probably try something holistic too - a diet overhaul/avoiding alcohol/doing acupuncture?

Tranquilitybaby · 13/01/2014 23:34

Actually, I found my recovery to be quicker after my second section. I did have a mild scar infection, but as I was bf, I just cleaned it with salt water each day (as per midwive's advice) and it cleared up easily.

My overhang on my scar is a different matter :(

bonzo77 · 13/01/2014 21:55

hmm. maybe it's 7 months. still too long. it's not taken this long before. but then I've not been this old before!

oh cakes it doesn't get easier does it? Biological clock, age gaps, the though of still dealing with all the newborn stuff (not to mention delivering a baby) when we're practically OAPs. I'm the same. No contraception now for about 8 months and nothing. Obviously we should all be counting our blessings. I had a big rant up thread though. How long does one leave it before investigating I wonder?

Oh no cakes sorry to hear that.

Ttc is a bit of a bitch even third time round apparently.

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 13/01/2014 17:37

I am starting to get a bit down about it now tbh. Sad

OrangeFizz99 · 13/01/2014 17:14

Whoop whoop snow!

snowpink · 13/01/2014 15:28

Yay! It's all good, so there shouldn't be any problems with ttc!

Wow, so many BFP's, congrats everyone.

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 13/01/2014 10:54

Been on holiday... Nothing to report. DTD a few times when oving, but DH wasn't well, so probably not as often as required. Had sore boobs all last week, although AF not due til this weekend. But now boobs don't seem as sore, just usual pre-menstrual tenderness I normally get. So, I don't know what that is all about. Too early to test anyway.

So, can someone update me on who is pg??

OrangeFizz99 · 13/01/2014 09:20

Hope all is ok snow.

snowpink · 13/01/2014 06:28

I'm going to the Gyn today to have a scan, just to make sure everything is alright after the mc (I actually didn't go to the doctors after it happened as they are very quick here with d&c and I already had more than enough of those)
Otherwise I think I'm the 2ww now, AF due around 24.1.

sj257 · 09/01/2014 13:19

oh and congrats to everyone with a BFP :)

sj257 · 09/01/2014 13:18

Hi girls, not posted for agggges.....my first period after stopping Cerazette turned up on the 11th of December....it had taken 9 weeks to appear!!!

Now I'm confused about whether or not my cycle is back to normal? If it was then I should have got my AF yesterday....but nothing....

Would have to be a miracle as we have only done the deed once this month :-/ possibly around cycle day 10/11?

hmm!!

BunnyBaby · 08/01/2014 22:15

Bonzo, you'll be with us before you know it! The first month of DTD every other day did the trick for me! (though the thought of it was so tiresome).

It was the tiniest spots, but as I never had even that with DS1, DS2 or my MMC it made sense to get it checked. All is now well and pootling on. The EPU were slow, and I didn't want work to know so had a private scan which was great as evening, and lovely obstretician did it which was reasurring.

I shall pop my head around orange's spanky new thread.

In honesty, despite dreading the return to work, it has been easier than a week in during the pouring rain of last week, with flooded playgrounds and DS1 - 6 and DS2 - 3 literally bouncing off the walls.

So, I shall keep popping back to check, and want to drag you all over to the antenatal thread ASAP..

Lots of babydust, love Bunny x

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 08/01/2014 13:33

Link to Orange's antenatal thread

Hopefully lots more can come and join over the next few months!

MolotovCocktail · 08/01/2014 10:59

The thought of having a son is lovely; another girl would be wonderful, too. We would have our own 'three graces' Smile

And it's thoughts like this thar jar against certain practical thoughts Hmm

MolotovCocktail · 08/01/2014 10:55

And not nice to be described as 'pendulous!' What a cheek!

MolotovCocktail · 08/01/2014 10:54

Thanks for that Reward Smile

I'm almost 31 - I was 29 when I had the dd2. I'm pretty trim and a healthy weight but tummy has softened since dd2! I like it; feels more 'womanly' somehow but I do wonder how I'd here fare after another pg/CS.

The decision whether to have another is strange compared with our first 2 - bonzo summarised the feelings perfectly in her OP.

I really enjoyed having dd2 to myself whilst dd1 was at nursery. That gives me to at least December this year to decide ...

It is a preferable situation to be in: I was desparate for dd1 and literally ached for dd2. Another baby would be a lovely bonus, I think. I just don't know when to start playing the conception lottery because I don't get pg quickly! Grin Sad
